They had to put on what? Did anyone else started to realise how ridiculous Professor Roslund's sense of fashion was? Thank goodness it was just for the class and not around the school! Lazily coming up to the front, he grabbed one of the robes and wrapped it around himself. Mr Katharos? Daichi wasn't it? Hades looked around for the boy. He wanted to ask Daichi for the most descent slippers.

Louisa FINALLY made it up to the Astronomy tower. It was funny how the only classroom close to her common room, was the one to get late to. Oh well. She was revising a bit in the library so she was clear.

Walking into the classroom, she furrowed her eyebrows at the students moving around the class instead of just sitting there. She stopped at the door, "Err.. hello professor Roslund." Without really looking at him but gazing at the.. were those outfits for Astronomers? Awesome! She widened her smile, despite the fact that she was still crossed with Roslund for that detention.

Quickly dropping her shoulder bag onto a desk, the girl trotted to get an outfit for her own. Her Hogwarts robe was taken off and she grabbed an Astronomy robe over her skirt and vest. The sneakers didn't really go with the outfit but she was more than happy to look like a professional astronomer instead of a teenage student!

Elise twirled to the classroom, stumbling yet again. She'd never learn that she wasn't designed for agility. The only nimble parts of her body were her hands. Drawing, sketching... Stuff like that. Nothing that involved balance.

Beaming at Professor Roslund, she bounded in. "Good evening, Professor!" she smiled before peeping into the box. "Had a good summer?"

Are those... Astronomy robes? COOL! Taking a set, she debated whether or not to put them on. Maybe later... Shrugging, she slipped the robe on, and sighed as it was yet again too big for her. Why was she so short!

Taking a seat next to Beezus, she pulled out a quill and wrote her name, year and house on the parchment, and watched as it turned into a nameplate. She'd always found that part cool.

Zack walked in for his very first astronomy class. Not that he had any interest in astronomy, but he would still like to learn about the stars and what do they keep planning for future for oneself, who knows when it would be useful.

After entering the class he took one of the seats in the front rows as he though the professor would give his attention to the last benches rather than the first and he could have a good nap.

Taking the seat he looked around at the class that seemed to be to be no different than any other, as a regular muggle class is. He saw the professor reading. Who does that, read before class? his mind began to question him many things about the professor. He wore something that Zack couldn't imagine a professor wearing for the first class of the term. What kind of robe is that now?

Anyway, he looked at the board and saw something written and then on his desk there was a parchment. He grabbed his quill and started writing.

Eh? his footwear? The Slytherin looked down at his feet and blushed madly. How could he have forgotten to change his shoes?! Okay , he had been in a hurry but...gaaah! "eh..yes, it's...it's pretty cold, sir" he stuttered as not only his face but also his neck and ears turned red from embarrassment.

And now he also had to give slippers to the rest of the class?! the Slytherin pouted his lips before standing up and walked to the front of the class. He looked at it in this way, when everyone had slippers too he wouldn't be the only one anymore.

Grabbing a robe for himself and quickly putting it over his clothes, he then grabbed the boxes and turned at the class.

"SLIPPERS! ONE GALLEON! BUY NOW OR YOUR FEET WILL FREEZE OFF~! yup yup he could be a sales man! He grinned as he looked back at the Professor and realized he was in class. "eh.. i have to walk around don't i?"

His face wasn't as red as before as he walked through the classroom and placed the slippers on the student's desks INSTEAD of selling them...

Raven just giggled when she saw Daichi use the duck leg slippers, it was cute! Yeah, she knew that Daichi was cute (eh?) But she DID NOT WANT to use that!

Okay, back to the Professor. He said that he provided an ASTRONOMY COAT?? W..w..w.. WOW!! It was cool!! Then Raven came walked to get one of them. She took off her school robes and wore it.

"Not bad.." she said.

"Ooh! The robes look pretty!" Tayla said when she stood up and picked an Astronomy robe. She liked the star and moon design. She swished the cloak a little bit, admiring the fabric, then went back to her desk to find a pair of slippers on it.

"Thanks! Erm..." Tayla didn't know what the Slytherin boy's name was and thought it was odd if she'd call him 'Mr. Katharos'. "Thanks for the slippers."

She put them on and they did feel good, but Tayla also felt a bit strange wearing them.

"Is there a special reason we're wearing these, Professor? Aside from it being cold I mean..."

Selena skipped into the classroom. She wasn't exactly a... fan of Astronomy. Not anymore. Not after the dreadful OWL's with its hard questions. She supposed that also meant that she had to start paying attention in class now. "Hello Professor Roslund," Selena chirped with a bright smile on her face before skipping over to pick up the... robes and sat at her desk.

On the parchment, in her loopy script, she wrote out her name, year and house.

Y'know, it was night time maybe they should all just grab a pillow and start napping - that did sound like an awful lot of fun.

Then she saw the slippers.

They were... interesting slippers. And, in Selena's opinon, much better than the robes. And as nice as star covered robees were... duck slippers were definitely cooler. She grinned as a pair was placed on her desk, kicked off her sneakers and slipped them on. Because duck slippers were cool. "Thank you!" Selena exclaimed, beaming at the Slytherin.

Yeah. She was so cool with her shoes.

Kurumi giggled and scooted a bit as August joined her. "N'aw, I thought today we'd try to discover a new planet or other intelligent life in the universe." Dream big or go home, right?

All joking aside though, Kurumi had really enjoyed stargazing with August. They should go back and do it again sometime - even if she knew that they wouldn't get so lucky a second time.
Um...right. Kurumi had very little knowledge about the Ministry besides the one time she had been invited to a party by Mr. Ikenna. That had been a rather awkward experience for her with the flying limousines, singing in front of everyone, being rushed away, traveling by floo for the first time...the Ministry seemed like a very complicated place.

Kurumi simply nodded her head and continued to set her things out.
Kurumi looked up, noticing Daichi and waving to the younger snake before it registered what Professor Roslund was saying. Wait...WHAT? They had to wear costumes in here too? Hadn't Care of Magical Creatures and History of Magic been enough? Kurumi wasn't really a fan of wearing extra things, that is why she liked school uniforms so much, it kept everyone looking essentially the same and with fewer distractions. Now the entire classroom was glittering due to the sheerness of the robes provided.

Still, Kurumi accepted a robe without a fuss and waited for Daichi to come around. Why fuzzy sleepers? Unless they were going to discuss the rabbit in the moon, Kurumi had no clue what the connection was.

When Daichi did come by, she took the slippers and, erm, removed her school shoes to slip these ones on. This was so weird.

"Thanks, Daichi," she said with a small smile.

Louisa looked in surprise at the boy shouting in the classroom. That was a tad rude in her opinion and if she was a professor, she'd send him to detention. Well. Roslund was good at that too. BAHAHAHA. Ahem. Daichi was just a little kid having fun though, she thought that the professor liked the kid so he'd overlook his scandalous salesman skills.

"Thank you." She said politely taking the slippers. They were NOT professional like. Well, they were for a CLOWN. The girl merely placed them on the floor next to her feet. She was not going to wear them. Sorry.

.. what if she got detention for it?

With a low groan, she threw away her sneakers and slipped on the duck feet. HMPH.

Zhenya went up the class and pulled out a pair of purple slippers. She smiled and said hello to Daichi before pullin out a set of female robes. She took off her cloak, her robes, and her dressing gown and replaced them with the astronomy robes. However on second thought she took it off, put her dressing gown and robes back on, and put the astronomy robes over the top of everything. Ahh now she was nice and warm.

Rubbing the spot on his thigh which had come into contact with the quite hard - well, duh! it was a desk - edge of Professor Roslund's desk, Lewis nodded slowly, looking at the professor over his shoulder. "Err. Yeah. No. 'tis fine. Thank you." He muttered in reply with a small smile, before quickly settling in at a nearby desk. It DID hurt but he would be fine. Yup.

Just as he had gotten comfortable - with his head on face first on the desk and his eyes closed - Professor Roslund told them to go get some kind of cloak. An Astronomy cloak. Was that somehow essential for today's lesson? Or were they just playing dress-up?

Either way, Lewis groaned inwardly as he dragged himself back to the front to get one of the cloaks, and quickly threw it on on top of his school clothes. Interesting. It was a little long. More like a dress. Had he accidentally taken the one for girls?! But whatever. He didn't really care. All he cared for was to get back to his desk first, and then survive this lesson so he could go back to bed and sleep.

Once he had settled in his chair again, some random kid shouted something about selling slippers. Huh. One galleon?! After a quick glance down at his own feet, Lewis shrugged and reached into his bag in search for some money. Weird school this was. With street vendors inside the classroom, selling what looked like duck slippers. Very weird indeed.

Okay, now they were for free after all? Muttering a "thanks" when the boy placed a pair of slippers on his desk, Lewis dropped them on the floor and pulled off his shoes, kicking them under his chair. He then put on the duck slippers and put his head back on top of his books.

Alyssa quickly rushed into class. There were other students there already but class hadn't started, so she wished Professor Roslund, "Good evening, Sir," before going to and putting on a pair of slippers that had been distributed. Then she filled out the name plate as instructed



And waited for further instructions

Silvia walked into the Astronomy classroom. She was so excited to be here! This was the subject she had been looking forward to the most. "Hello professor." She found herself a desk and wrote the following on the parchment:

When she was finished, she went up to the front to get a robe and slippers. "I love this robe," she said softly to herself as she put it on and returned to her desk. Pulling out parchment and quill for notes, she eagerly awaited class to start.

Messer grinned widely at Professor Roslund's question. "Of course, Professor. I'm SO ready for star-gazing!" he exclaimed happily. Oh, no alien attack or even a meteor shower coming up? But the amusement & joke section sound not so bad. Maybe he should check it later.

Then he heard Professor Roslund asked them to wear the new Astronomy robes. Eeeeppp..But the robes wasn't so bad. He stood up and picked one then when he was back to his table, the young badger saw a DUCK slippers already there waiting for him. WAIT! DUCK?! You've got to be kidding. He hate ducks. They're mean! But he slipped it on anyway. Messer muttered a quick Thanks to the boy before he went back to his seat. Well, at least its comfy.

"Good evening Zhenya!" Professor Roslund greeted with a warm smile. "It’s a perfect night for astronomy my dear." He mused looking out at the fading light.

"Good evening August." Professor Roslund greeted the lion pleased to see that that the fourth year was taking a big interest in the classes as well as the ongoing challenge.

"Good evening Aurora. Luna is doing well. Last I saw her she was curled up in front of the fire place sleeping happily." Professor Roslund greeted. Aurora had helped him on the platform until Althea had arrived to aid him.

The next one to arrive was Louisa seemingly in a good mood and actually one of the first to willing put on the new robes. Since she was there her resentment towards him must have disappeared "Good evening. Louisa!" he greeted, flashing her a smile of approval.

"Good evening Elise! My summer was quite splendid. How was yours?" Professor Roslund asked curiously. Watching the young Ravenclaw put on the robes he saw that she almost disappeared in them. Making sure he didn’t laugh he called out to the second year "Elise do you want me to make the robes a smaller size?"

"Good evening Zack. Don’t forget to fetch a robe before we begin." He greeted the young lion boy who was the only one so far who hadn’t given him a polite greeting.

Flashing Daichi and unapproving look Professor Roslund said sternly "My classroom is not the place to start a business. You will give everyone a pair of duck slippers free of charge or I’ll be less than happy with you." Hmpf. If the boy dared to go against him he was going to have find the strength that Professor Hadley had magically given him some days ago in the library and use it in his classroom.


The last person to trickle in was Selena one of the Slytherin prefects. "Good evening Selena." Professor Roslund greeted warmly.

Ushuring everyone to their seats he felt that it was high time to start the lesson. "Good evening everyone and most welcome to a new term of Astronomy. For those of you who do not know me I am Professor Edvard Roslund and i am Hogwarts resident Astronomy professor."

Pointing at his own robes he continued "Many of you are probably like Tayla wondering why I've given you special astronomer robes. One reason is simply that the Astronomy tower gets awfully chilly at night. Second because its a celebratory term with Hogwarts being in its 1000th year of teaching young minds like i all of you that I should give you all a special treat."

He paused for a moment to let the last student's slip into their robes and slippers. "Now let's start with some basics. First years what do you know about Astronomy? All other years why do you think we learn about Astronomy?"

Occ: The lesson has officially STARTED! From now on, RP as if you have been there the whole time. Don't forget to deck yourself out in the robes and duck slippers.

Olivia did not understand the significance of wearing a compleatly different set of robes for one class, but she picked some out anyway because they could end up being significant.
She noticed some of the other students were making nameplates, so she made one too.

She wondered if Astronomy would be anything like astrology, she was very interested in the solar system and horoscopes and things along those lines, and was taking Arithmancy as well as Ancient Runes.

The robes looked more ridiculous when Hades put it on. His eye twitched. Why did they learn about Astronomy? Because it was a core subject. But then again, he won't answer that verbally. "Uhh... Because some magic depends on the movement of stars, planets, moons..?" perhaps. Example was a werewolf. Since a werewolf only transformed during full moon, it somehow related to Astronomy. Was it?

First question! Raven raised her hand and answer.

"Professor. I think because from Astronomy, we can know what are the things in our solar system beside Earth and Moon. And.. sometimes Wizards use astronomy as.." She thought hard. Last term they had learnt about the correlations of Astronomy and Wizard world.

"Sometimes the power of magical creatures are gaining in fullmoon phase." continued her.

Robes to celebrate? Kurumi looked down at her robes and shrugged to herself. She preferred her simple black ones, but wouldn't complain. Another layer was another layer of warmth anyway.

As class officially began, Kurumi thought for a moment when Professor Roslund posed a question to the class. Thinking that she had organized her thoughts, Kurumi raised her hand. "I think that we study Astronomy because it affects our lives in many ways. Some examples that we may take for granted are the sun providing us energy to live, the radiation from the sun powering our atmosphere and weather, the moon controlling the tides, constellations used for navigational purposes, the Earth spinning giving us day and night, and it influences our magic. We wouldn't understand these things if we didn't study Astronomy." Kurumi paused for a moment. There was A LOT that could be said to answer this particular question. "Astronomy is one of the oldest sciences and through studying it many amazing discoveries were made. I believe that a hole in the Earth's ozone layer was discovered while scientists were studying Venus for example. However, I also think that we have an interest in astronimical knowledge simply because of our eagerness to discover. Space being the final frontier and all."

Silvia raised her hand. This was one subject she wasn't shy about participating in.

"Astronomy is the study of celestial bodies and the universe, such as stars, planets, and galaxies," she said. "It even tries to find out how the universe began and whether or not there is life on other planets."

These starry robes were pretty cool. Indiana liked them, she liked them a lot. They totally went with her blue jammies with moons on. She totally looked like an astronomy nerd right now. But she really liked them. She totally looked really cool. Indy mused, thinking about the question, as she wiggled her toes in the funky slippers a bit. Now she needed to answer the question. Indy thought for a few seconds, before raising her and. "We learn Astronomy because it's on the school curriculum?" That was pretty true. They would not be up here if it wasn't on the curriculum. "But I also think we learn about it, because it's really cool. And stuff. And very interesting. And like...I think it's important that we learn about space and stuff."

Sierra sat there, all decked out in her new Astronomy attire. She didn't look very pleased about it, but she'd wear it for the sake of precious house points toward Slytherin house. She peered at her name tag:

Yup, everything was there. Peering up at the professor, she raised her hand. "Lots of things in the sky can affect our magical world. Last year, you and Professor Bentley taught us how the moon can affect plant growth, and we use magical plants in lots of things--like potions," she said. "There's other connections, too, like...to creatures. The mooncalf only comes out during the full moon, so we can use what we know about the moon's phases to predict when the mooncalves will come out."

She shrugged. "So I think we study Astronomy, because so many things in the sky affect us here in the magical world," she added. "Oh, and one more thing--some people believe you can predict the future from studying the sky." Not Sierra, though. She still wasn't really convinced that Divination was worth anything.

After having written her name, house and year on the piece of parchment, Gwendolyn looked back at the Professor. Why couldn’t everyone get the easy question?! What is Astronomy!? I could answer that… but I have no idea why we study it. It’s not like it’s actually useful or something, the girl thought and decided not to answer this question, just remain silent and see what everyone else could come up with.

However, she changed her mind and immediately put her hand up. I need to say something. That’s still better than nothing, right? Riiiight? ‘Well, studying Astronomy means that we study everything that has to do with planets, stars… basically everything in the universe. And by knowing what is out there, we might be able to understand how the universe was formed?’, the third year tried to guess. ‘And ummm…’, Gwen went on talking, and, after a short pause, she added: ‘Perhaps if we know more about it, we might be able to find out how it is evolving?’ Somewhat.

Alyssa raised her hand and answered,"Professor, we study Astronomy to learn about what exists in the skies above us. Astronomy explains everything we observe above us and by studying the universe we can understand where we came from, and where we will be going and how physics and chemistry manages to work together, despite under the weirdest and most unlikely and extreme conditions, to recreate what we see up there today.

To the wizarding world, knowing how the various planets and stars and even the moon and sun, somehow affect our planet in some way to increase or decrease our magical powers is also very important."
