Staring at Professor Lafay for a moment, she wondered briefly if her father would actually mind if she developed nasty boils. Perhaps not... Anyways it was time for the next ingredient. Bubertuber pus.

Snapping on her gloves, Elise rolled up her sleeves so that they wouldn't fall into the liquid. That'd just be disgusting. Taking her metal spoon thingy, she scooped the mixture and held it over the cauldron before adding the drops.

There. Shaking the excess back off into the jar, she screwed the lid on tightly before taking her stirrer and stirred counter clockwise.

Stir. Stir. Stir. Stir. Stir. Stir.

Sophie copied down the steps and dropped her quill. She got her dragonhide glove from her bag and put them on. Grabbing a metal spoon, she pointed her wand at it. "Scourgify." She was already doing that automatically.

Bubertuber pus looked like snot! Yuck! It had an interesting consistency though. Sophie blinked a couple of times before scooping some of it with the spoon. Carefully now... one... two... three... four........................ five! Sophie cleaned the spoon and put it in the cauldron. "Counter-clockwise..." She thought, staring at the potion. "Right!"

"One... two... three... four... five... six." She muttered under her breath while stirring.

Belle was kind of nervous to use Bubertuber pus. She never liked the smell or the side effect of having boils on your skin. She put on her dragon hid gloves and got out the pus and metal spoon. "Alright i got to put in five drops into the cauldron." she told herself.

"One drop...two...three...four...five." She counted in her head as the pus was added to the potion. "Now stir it counter clockwise six times." One...two..three...four...five..six." as she stired to the left. After she was done she added the steps to her notebook.

Bleaugh... bubertuber pus... Lily made a face as the professor showed them what the pus looks like. She quickly grabbed her gloves to make sure that she wouldn't forget them. Now it was time to continue with her potion. So she grabbed her metal spoon and cleaned it. Then on to the pus. Lily carefully got five drops and put them into the cauldron. "One... two, three, four... and five." Now the ravenclaw had to stir the mixture. "Counter-clockwise...okay" Lily stated as she started to stir. One...two..three.four..five...six. Once she had finished stirring she carefully took the spoon out and cleaned it off. Then she jotted down some more information as she waited to continue. What's next... the toothpaste?

Spotting her mother sliding on her dragonhide gloves, Sierra instinctively did the same. She was so used to reaching for them in their usual spot that she didn't even look away from the front of the room as she grabbed them and slid them on. She'd seen bubotuber pus lots of times, unfortunately, but even now she made a slight face at the thought of it. Or maybe it was just the nasty boils that did it for her. Either way, Sierra was glad she had the gloves. She reached for her metal spoon, added five drops of the pus to it, and then turned the spoon over, adding the pus into her brew. Then she set about stirring. One...two...three...four...five...six.

Hecate walked the classroom, watching the students intently. They seemed to be catching on quickly. Returning to the front of the class, she took the tube of toothpaste and squeezed a generous one tablespoon onto a metal spoon. "It's important to be sure to use metal tools in this potion. You will want to add the toothpaste, stirring it in gently." She said and she stirred it in. "There is no number of times to stir of direction, just stir until it's off the spoon. Then you will want to add the honey."

She went to retrieve the honey and used a clean metal spoon to measure it out. "Be patient with this. You will want it to drip slowly in the cauldron. So just take your time. Do one tablespoon at a time, and just hold it a good six to eight inches from it. And be careful it doesn't splash."

Laura looked at the Professor and smiled as she decided to continue on with the potion, she listened carefully, she then decided to make sure that she was doing everything right, it took her a bit to stir the toothpaste in but she decided to be patient once she has had done that she made sure that she put the honey in.

So far so good...or so Kurumi thought at least. Unbeknownst to herself, and Professor Lafay it seemed, one extra drop of bubertuber pus had managed to find its way into her cauldron. No noticeable changes had occurred - not that Kurumi even knew what she would be looking for really. Reaching for her spoon, Kurumi squeezed a large amount of toothpaste onto it and then slowly stirred it in her cauldron. Maybe the liquid just wasn't all that hot yet, or maybe there was something else, but it was taking a long time for it to melt off the spoon.

Cleaning her spoon with a quick Scourgify and Tergeo, Kurumi began to spoon up the honey, allowing it to slowly drip into her cauldron. Driiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip....driiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip...driiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiip...

Toothpaste.

Janice 'Scourgify'-ed her metal spoon and filled it with toothpaste. She then dropped the end with toothpaste and stirred. Occasionally, she took out the end and see the end, checking if all the toothpaste are already inside her cauldron.

"Scrougify!" she said, pointing at the metal spoon with the tip of her wand. The very small amount of the white paste disappeared, and is shiny as if it's new. She scooped a tablespoon of honey and dripped it bit by bit. She just can't help but watch the ripples created by the small stream of honey drifted away to the edges.

She did it another two times, then wrote the next steps in her notes.

Toothpaste?

Raven didn't know why they need to put toothpaste as the ingredients. But she didn't want to ruin Lafay's mood today and make her headache became worse. She cleaned the metal spoon, filled it with the toothpaste and dropped it to the cauldron. She stirred it until there was no more toothpaste left in the spoon.

"Scourgify."

What's next?

She scooped honey to her spoon and dripped it. Then she repeated the step until she had added 3 tablespoon of honey.

Lily carefully watched the professor as the class continued. Toothpaste...check. The claw made sure that she put the toothpaste on her clean metal spoon and started stirring it into the potion. Once it was no longer on the spoon, Lily cleaned it and picked up her honey container. Slow drips...got it. Taking about a tablespoon of honey, Lily proceeded to slowly drip it into the cauldron.

Drip...drop...
As the honey dripped into the potion, Lily carefully held the spoon, making sure that it wasn't to far from the surface of the potion. Each time a drop fell, a ripple went across the surface, like how you see when rain falls. Once her honey was in, Lily cleaned her spoon and turned back to her notebook, jotting down the rules to follow when making the potion.

Following Professor Lafay's lead, Elise squeezed the toothpaste into her metal spoon as she took mental notes. Metal. All metal, got it. Lowering the spoon into the cauldron, she stirred gently. Since there was no particular direction for her to stir, she went in the way that felt the most natural. Stirring counter-clockwise with her left hand.

Pulling the spoon out of the liquid, she checked the spoon to make sure that all the toothpaste was off. Done. Now, the honey. Taking a clean spoon from her newly scourgified kit, Elise scooped out a tablespoon full of the honey and dripped it carefully into the cauldron.

Drip...

Drip...

Drip...

Once all the three tablespoons of honey were in the cauldron, Elise pulled her wand out and began cleaning her instruments. She wouldn't have enough metal spoons if they kept going at this rate.

Ella watched the demonstration of the next steps carefully, noting them in her notebook. She then picked up the spoon she had already cleaned during the previous step and started to fill it with toothpaste. She smiled while doing this, thinking of her grandmother and how crazy people told her she was when she suggested toothpaste for blemishes. Not so crazy afterall... While waiting for all the toothpaste to come off the spoon as she stirred it, Ella raised her hand. "Professor, why is it so important to use metal tools? Is it because they are easier to keep clean?" While waiting for an answer, Ella saw that the toothpaste was now gone so she picked the spoon up and cleaned it again. Now it was time for the honey. She watched as the honey poured on to the spoon. Then she added the correct measurements into the cauldron, watching as the honey dripped slowly...very s l o w l y...off the spoon. Luckily, there was not much splashing going on, which was what the Professor wanted. When she was done with the honey she picked up the spoon and once again cleaned it, setting it back down on the table.

Right. This next step seemed as easy as the first two. She nodded at what Professor Lafay said and preformed Scourgify on her spoon. When it was clean, she picked up her tube of toothpaste. She squeezed out a tablespoon's worth and started stirring it into the potion, checking periodically to see whether it had melted off of the spoon or not.

After noticing that there was no more toothpaste on the spoon, she cleaned it again with Scourgify, then reached for the pot of honey. She carefully took out a tablespoon's worth before pouring it over her cauldron carefully. Driiiiiiiip driiiiiiiip driiiiiiiip. Carrying on in this way until there were three tablespoon's worth in the potion. "Scourgify" And her spoon was clean again.

Process

1. After cleaning the cauldron, fill it with water. Light a high, intense flame underneath. Make sure that it's intense but not large.
2. After putting on dragonhide gloves, add five spoonfuls of bubertuber pus. Stir counter-clockwise six times.
3. Add the toothpaste making sure that the potion melts it all off of the spoon. There is no particular direction to stir it in or number of stirs. Next, add the honey slowly, pouring each tablespoon over the potion and letting it drip off of the spoon.

She listened and watched as the Professor demonstrated the next steps. Then she picked out another two metal spoons and placed them side by side on the table. Taking out her wand she said "Scourgify" and cleaned both of them. She inspected them to make sure that they were thoroughly clean before she picked up the tube of toothpaste and squeezed a tablespoon worth of toothpaste into one of them. She added the toothpaste into the mixture in the cauldron slowly stirring it in with the spoon until the toothpaste was off the spoon and thoroughly mixed in with the mixture.

Then she picked up the bottle of honey and the other clean metal spoon and slowly dripped the honey onto the spoon. She measured out one tablespoon worth before adding the honey into the cauldron, letting it drip slowly into the mixture making sure that she was holding the spoon at least six to eight inches above. As the honey slowly dripped in, Alysssa took great care that none of the mixture splashed out when the honey dripped into the cauldron. 'We definitely can't have that happening.' Alyssa thought to herself.

Once the honey had totally dripped off, she then poured another tablespoon worth of honey into her tablespoon and added that to the mixture in the cauldron, repeating the same steps as before. Now for the last tablespoon full of honey. As she let the third tablespoon of honey slowly drip into the cauldron, Alyssa continued to make sure that she held the spoon at least 6 to 8 inches above the cauldron and that each time the honey dripped in, that the mixture didn't splash out. Alyssa looked down to make sure that the honey was mixing in well with the mixture.

Keeping an eye on her mixture in the cauldron, Alyssa quickly picked up her quill and added the steps into her Potion's journal.





Once she had updated her journal, she sat back and waited for further instructions while continuing to keep an eye on the mixture in her cauldron.

Belle saw the professor in front of the classroom demonstrating how to use the tube of toothpast. She cleaned her metal tool first. "Scourgify!" she said and it got all clean. Then she added the tablespoon of toothpaste to the potion and stirred it very gently. She noticed the toothpast sliding off very slowly. She continued to do about 10 more stirs and it melted off. "alright it is looking good!"
Then she cleaned the spoon off again and used a different metal spoon. Then she measured a tablespoon of honey and dripped it in slowly. The first time it didn't splash. "Thank god." she told herself. She did a couple more times well about three since that is what the directions said and the potion was going as planned.

Taylor watched as the professor instructed them. She took her metal spoon and squeezed out a tablespoon of toothpaste. Tay stirred it until it was off the spoon. Then she got a tablespoon of honey with a clean metal spoon, letting it drip slowly down into the potion. Tay held the spoon seven inches above it, and made sure it didnt splash. After it got done dripping, Taylor got another tablespoon and let it drip into the potion from the same height. She watched as the honey dripped, memerized by it. After that spoonful was gone, she measured the last spoonful. Tay let it drip, keeping it still at seven inches, and careful not to let it splash. She was wondering why it is important to use metal spoons, so she rose the hand that wasn't holding the spoon, "Professor.... you said that it is important to use metal instruments for this potion..... what is the reason for that, if i may ask?" Taylor hoped that Professor Lafay wouldn't think of her as stupid and she really hoped that the professor won't be annoyed at the question. The honey was done dripping so she moved the spoon away from the cauldron.

Picking up the toothpaste, Sky squeezed the required tablespoon into the metal spoon. Then, she dunked it in her cauldron and started to stir, checking the spoon every so often to see if the toothpaste had come off. Once it had, she cast a couple of "Scourgify!" to clean the spoon then picked up the honey. She slowly dripped it in, holding her spoon six inches above her cauldron. When that was done, she waited for the next set of instructions.

Sophie shrugged after writing down her notes. Then she grabbed the metal spoon and squeezed a tablespoon of toothpaste onto it. With a disgusted face, she stirred until it all melted.

She pointed her wand at the spoon. "Scourgify." Now to the honey. Sophie was careful not to spill any of it. One tablespoon... two... and three. There. She cleaned the spoon again and placed it by her cauldron.

Tayla nodded as Professor Lafay gave her instructions. She took a tube of toothpaste and squeezed some to fill a metal spoon. The she added the toothpaste in and stirred it gently until no toothpaste was left on the spoon.

Then Tayla took another, clean, metal spoon and added some honey as well. She added three tablespoons of honey carefully, holding the spoon at what she supposed was around seven inches away. No splashes and no scary mistakes so far. Good.

As Professor Lafay circled the room, Stella felt a moment of accomplishment in deciding to Scourgify her spoon between steps. Just because, as had been mentioned in the next steps, they were supposed to use metal spoons more and that meant cleaning between steps was a good idea. Not only that, but she had to wonder exactly why they were required to use metal tools in the first place, considering usually their wooden stirrers were fine. In any case, her spoon was ready, so she picked up the toothpaste and squeezed out a generous spoonful before dipping the spoon into her potion and stirring. She pulled it back out a couple times to check if the toothpaste was gone yet, especially as it really was kind of boring just stirring without knowing when to stop, but eventually she withdrew her spoon again and smiled as it was clean. Of toothpaste, at least, and she quickly used her wand to Scourgify it yet again.

Time for the honey, and she measured out a spoonful before carefully placing the spoon around six or seven inches above the surface of her potion and gently tilting it until the honey started dripping. Time for more waiting, and she started singing to herself inside her head as she waited for the spoonful to all drip into the potion, making sure not to try and rush it so it splashed. She wasn't exactly sure that she wanted to find out what would happen if it did, after all. And, once the first spoonful was completely added, she repeated the step twice more until all three tablespoons were added, then she Scourgified her spoon yet again. She wasn't about to get caught unprepared now.

Craterotomy Potion

uses: to treat/cure pimples

Ingredients

• Water
• 5 drops of bubertuber pus
• 1 tbsp Toothpaste
• 3 tbsp. honey
• 4 Snake fangs
• 1 tbsp. cinnamon powder
• 1 clove of garlic
• 2 cups of lemon zest
• Pinch of salt

Procedure

• Fill Scourgified cauldron with water, then set over a high, intense flame, making sure flame is still controlled.
• Wearing dragonhide gloves, scoop up five drops of bubotuber pus with a metal spoon, then add to cauldron.
• Stir potion six times counter-clockwise
• Squeeze a generous tablespoon of toothpaste onto a clean metal spoon, then stir into potion until toothpaste dissolves.
• Making sure your metal spoon is clean again, measure a tablespoon of honey and drip into potion from 6-8 inches above cauldron. Repeat until all three tablespoons are added.

After inspecting a metal spoon to make sure it was clean, Jory squeezed some tooth paste on to it. Next, he dipped the spoon into the potion and stirred. He occasionally pulled it out of the potion, checking it until all the paste came off.

Next, came the honey. Jory carefully measured out one spoonful honey at a time. Holding the spoon about seven inches from the cauldron, he let the honey drip into it. He repeated the steps for the other two spoonfuls, then he jotted down the steps just instructed to the class in his note book.

Sierra only glanced up occasionally as she mainly focused on the brewing of her potion. The absolute last thing she wanted to do was make a mistake, especially a big one, in this class. The worst would be exploding her cauldron, but she'd never done that, so she really didn't think she had anything to worry about there.

Following along, she picked up a tube of toothpaste and squeezed a good-sized amount onto a metal spoon. She looked at it, verifying that it was indeed a teaspoon, and then began stirring it into the potion. Since there wasn't a set number of times to stir, Sierra checked the spoon from time to time to see if the toothpaste was off the spoon. When it finally was, she switched over to the honey and used a clean metal spoon just as she'd seen her mother use. Taking her time and going one tablespoon at a time, Sierra began to let the honey drip slowly into her cauldron.

"Metal is a heat conductor." She said and nodded. "Now, take out your mortar and pestle. Crush the four snake fangs into a fine powder." She said and demonstrated to the class how easy this step could be, "You will want to sprinkle it into the cauldron, and then take a cinnamon stick and grate it into the potion." She smelled the potion and smiled as she did so.

Taylor nodded at the professor's answer. It made sense. Tay took her mortar and pestle and started crushing the snake fangs into a fine powder. When that was done, she sprinkled it into her cauldron. Taylor took the cinnamon stick and started grating into her cauldron. Once that was done, she waited for the professor to go on.
