2 - Craterotomy Potion Hecate was sitting on her chair. Admiring the new wedding ring on her finger. It was by far the nicest she had. None would compare. She opened the classroom waiting patiently. ooc: This class will stay open for at least 72 hours (probably more.) Also thanks to Antarctica! for taking the picture of the Potions Classroom for me at the WWoHP, and to Ameh for makin it into a pretty graphic! |
Now this was the class Sierra always looked forward to. Other than Flying and Quidditch, Potions was the class she happened to succeed in the most. Not to mention she got along quite well with the professor. Well, duh. She actually headed out of the common room a little early, her bag slung over her shoulder, and headed straight for the Potions classroom. Standing in the door, she thought about how so many thing had changed since the last time she'd been in this classroom. Good things, of course. Pushing open the door, Sierra stepped inside, her eyes immediately zooming in one two things: her favorite seat and then Professor Lafay. "Hello, ..." Pause. "...Professor Lafay," she said, looking up at the woman as she slid into her favorite seat. While she waited for class to start, she cracked open her textbook and began reading a random chapter. |
It was time for one of Gideon's favorite classes and the 5th year was certainly ready for another potions lesson. It gave him a reason to brew seeing as with the busyness of lessons and quidditch and such, he didn't get much chance to work on potions outside the classroom. So he made his way down to the dungeons when it was time, his cauldron in one hand and the rest of his supplies carefully in his knapsack with parchment and quill so he was fully prepared. Reaching the classroom he stepped inside and noticed he was one of the first ones to arrive. "Good day Professor Lafay," he greeted with a polite nod to the potions mistress as he made his way to a workstation up front. Once more she appeared happy and it certainly seemed as if the sometimes often rough woman had been effected the same way he had been told his antisocial father had been...by a love in her life. Not that he was gonna but into that, he simply set up his work area to prepare for the lesson. |
Amelia skipped into the Potions classroom. She was in a really good mood today, and she was eager to see what they'd be learning today. She couldn't say enough hoe much she loved this class. D: It was probably her favourite lesson after Care of Magical Creatures. She took a seat near the front. "Hello, Professor Lafay!" |
Sky walked into the potions classroom feeling more relaxed about potions then she ever had before. Last class had gone well, so why shouldn't she feel relaxed? She picked a station towards the middle and set her cauldron up, smiling slightly the whole time. "Hello, Professor Lafay." she greeted politely. Now to wait for class to begin… |
Alyssa quickly walked into the classroom and was glad that she wasn't late for class. She walked up to the Professor who was sitting in her chair and her eyes opened wide with pleasure when she spotted a shiny new wedding ring on the Professor's ring finger. She wanted so much to congratulate the Professor but was afraid that she would be accused of brown nosing again, so she just said,"Hello Professor" before making her way to an empty work station. She took out her journal, writing materials and sat back waiting for the lesson to start. |
Vickers descended into the dungeons and made his way towards the Potions classroom. As he crossed the threshold he spotted the Potions Mistress "Good morning Professor" he greeted her with his usual polite nod. He can sense her pleasant mood, he'd fair say the best he's seen her in the months he's been here. And although subconsciously he had taken note of the ring, the trinket wont actually hit him as something new until much later. He settled onto his usual table close to the supplies area and prepped his potions materials for the class ahead. |
When Jory entered the classroom, Professor Lafay was sitting on her char and there was a handful of students already present. "Good day, Professor,'' the Hufflepuff said politely and then noticed the wedding ring on the her finger. "Congrats, Professor,'' he added hoping for some reason she would not yell at him. Jory headed off to find himself a seat. |
Potions. Didn't they just have a potions class the other day? Selina was certain that they had just had one, so there was no need to have another. But that was the thing about classes... they were a daily thing. Selina knew this deep down in her soul, but the redhead was awful at potions so the fact that she had to go down to the dungeons to participate in the class made her skin crawl. She would no doubt put someone in the hospital wing before the lesson was out. As she walked in the room she caught sight of the shiny ring, but it was not her place to comment on her teacher's affairs so she said, "Good day Professor." and took her seat. |
Stella was once again not entirely sure if she wanted to come to Potions or not. Granted, she was pretty much past her idea that she was horrible at the subject, but she still was a bit afraid that Professor Lafay was going to be back in whatever mood she'd been in last term, that had spurred her to make them brew and test hate potions. Even if the rumors were that there was every reason to think she would be in a perfectly good mood, Stella just wasn't sure what to expect. Anything that wasn't a hate potion was alright with her, although she hid her promise ring in her bag for the duration of the lesson. Or, more accurately, she hid it even before entering the classroom. She didn't want questions, and she definitely didn't want to get icky potions ingredients all over it. Finally stepping inside the classroom, she immediately looked toward the professor's desk, then smiled as at least so far it looked like they were going to be safe from too much trouble. "Good day, Professor Lafay," she said, making her way to her usual workstation and sitting down. It didn't look like they were continuing their exploration of allergies, at least. Honestly, she couldn't find any clues as to what they were going to be doing this lesson. She was just going to hope that whatever it was wasn't too disastrous. |
Zhenya walked into the potions classroom after waking up too late. Well, lucking she didn't have to walk far! She looked at the professor and said "hi professor Lafay!" with a smile and went to her seat. She put her bag on the floor and put her textbook, some parchment and her quill and ink on her table, fighting the urge to flop her head on he table and sleep again. |
Aurora walked down to the potions classroom and made her way to her seat. She put her bag on the floor and looked up. "Good day, Professor." she greeted. She had heard that she had got married but she wasn't sure whether she should say congratulations or not... it was a little too familiar for a professor so she didn't. |
Entering the Potions classroom, Kurumi shuffled her feet towards the front and was glad to see that there was nothing in here that would give her the sniffles. She DID notice Professor Lafay admiring a ring on her finger. The Gryffindor's eyes moved knowingly to Sierra and the events of several summers ago came rushing back. It was STILL hard to believe that Sierra had run away from home and, of all people, come to the Gryffindor's home. Her father still sometimes talked about Sierra and how charming she was. If only he knew... At least her mother had sensed something was a bit off between Kurumi and the Slytherin. Her mother had always been better at reading people when it came to friendships and Kurumi. Her father assumed that everyone loved her. Her mother was the opposite. Her mother... A small frown sluggishly made its way across her lips, but she still greeted the Potions Mistress with a polite bow of the head. "Good day, professor..." Was it still Lafay? |
As Tayla entered the Potions classroom, she noticed Professor Lafay admiring something on her finger. Tayla wondered what it was as she took her usual post somewhere near the front and greeted the professor. "Hello, Professor Lafay." It seemed (and Tayla hoped) that their Potions professor was in a good mood today. Again. Hmm... No problem there of course. |
Nate walked into the classroom. He then found a seat and looked up at the front of the room. He saw she was admiring something on her finger. Was that a wedding ring?!?! So then he said "Hello Professor Lafay." Hopefully Nate would be on the teachers good side for the rest of the year. He didn't want to end up on her bad side. |
It was with a feeling of trepidation making his stomach feel all knotted and slightly queasy as Thomas trudged his way into the potions classroom with his shoulders hunched and his hands shoved deep in his trouser pockets. True, he was a Gryffindor and he was supposed to be all brave and courageous and all that but... Lafay made him anxious. The 'I ain' takin' no crap from no one' attitude and the lion in him practically turned into a mouse when he was in this room. Frowning |
Janice entered the classroom, slightly wondering if Lafay would ever be in such a good mood like the previous lesson. And she was right. She saw Lafay sitting, looking dreamily at something on her finger. Janice tiptoed to see what she's looking at. Ooh! she thought. She got married at the middle of the year! "Hello, professor," she greeted her. "And congrats!" |

"Good day Professor..." she said calm. Noticed on the ring, she assumed that she had already married with the Ministry now. Then she took a seat at the middle, and noticed that there was a girl who was asleep. Zhenya? "Sssst... Wake up!" she whispered. |
Silvia made her way into the potions classroom. "Hello professor," she said as she made her way to a nearby table. She pulled out parchment, quill and ink from her bag in preparation for taking notes, and hoped today's potion wouldn't be too difficult to make. |
August entered the dungeon designated as the Potions classroom with dred, as usual. He hated the subject but needed it to prepare him for his O.W.L exams next term. The subject was incrediably intricate and complicated, plus Professor Lafay was quick to harrass. When he entered he looked at the woman wearily but her attention seemed to be diverted. She was looking at her finger but August wasn't able to see what was on it. A burn, a rash, a HIDEOUS BOIL?! "Good day Professor." Quote:
After the whisper he watched Kurumi turn her head back and forth between Sierra Greingoth and Professor Lafay. It was probably just a reflection off of the wedding ring that had flashed on the 5th year snake that had caught his friend's attention so Auggie let it drop. WHAA?! A wedding ring on Lafay's hand? Oh Merlin help that poor man. |
Ella walked into potions with a smile. She found that she had really enjoyed the first lesson and the potion proved to be quite helpful. Hopefully this lesson would be just as good. She greeted the professor when she saw her, noting that she seemed quite happy. "Hello Professor Lafay!" Ella said, noting that the Professor's attention was directed towards her finger. She looked down and gasped. What a beautiful ring. "Wow, congrats Professor!" she added, motioning towards the ring. "It's beautiful." |

Zhenya yawned, "Huh? I wasn't sleeping," she said and giggled. Did she look that much like a zombie? |
ooc: Sorry guys, I had a really bad stomach virus that debilitated me for two days. I'm back now and ready to post. Quote:

For some reason this boy... the way he looked at her... She didn't like it. She didn't much like him either, though he'd never done anything in the class but brew the potion correctly and be polite. ... hmmm "Good Day, Master Goldstein" Quote:
"Chocolate. Tastes great right? But to children your age it's a risk. Not because it'll make you gain weight, because, let's face it. One little candybar won't make you gain a lot. What does it do to your skin?" She asked the class, as she took a bite of the bar. |

Laura stared at the Professor, seriously chocolate was good expecially when you was getting married. "Professor did your boyfriend buy you the chocolate?" Seriously that was cool, it meant he loved her. "it makes your skin look great." Laura had no idea why chocolate was bad, she thought it was good. |
