Stella had most definitely gotten her cauldron clean. Two Scouring charms and she was pretty sure it was almost sterilized, but she still triple-checked it as Professor Lafay instructed them to start brewing. Paranoia really wasn't a bad thing when it came to Potions class, especially when she knew that was why she'd done much better at the subject here at Hogwarts than she had at Beauxbatons. She was definitely curious how they were going to test their potions this time, after last lesson when the professor had given them all boils, but it was easier to just do as she'd said.

Adjusting her grip on her wand, she pointed it inside her cauldron. "Aguamenti," she cast, cutting the spell off once the cauldron was full and switching her attention to underneath the cauldron. Time for the flames, which apparently was going to be quite the specific detail. "Incendio!" Watching the flame as it lit, she made sure to pay attention to the size. And she cut that charm off after a moment, eyeing the flame under her cauldron to make sure it wasn't about to widen without her knowing it. It looked under control, so then she turned her attention to her journal to add the step she'd just finished to the notes she'd started.

Craterotomy Potion

uses: to treat/cure pimples

Ingredients

• Water
• 5 drops of bubertuber pus
• 1 tbsp Toothpaste
• 3 tbsp. honey
• 4 Snake fangs
• 1 tbsp. cinnamon powder
• 1 clove of garlic
• 2 cups of lemon zest
• Pinch of salt

Procedure

• Fill Scourgified cauldron with water, then set over a high, intense flame, making sure flame is still controlled.

Ella nodded as the Professor spoke, noting her warning about being careful. She would be. The last thing she wanted to do was start a fire! She pointed her wand at her cauldron with a smile. "Aguamenti!" She was really getting the hang of that one. "Finite." she said, double checking to make sure she had enough water. Then, with a nervous glance around her, she attempted to light the fire. "Incendio!" She watched, wide eyed, as the fire lit under the cauldron. "Woah!" was all she could say. The fire was pretty strong, but not enough to burn anything other than the cauldron so hopefully that's what the Professor had meant. She made sure the fire coming from her wand died out and then pulled her parchment in front of her, adding the steps she had just completed to her notes.

"Aguamenti," she said, pointing the tip of her wand inside the cauldron. A handy spell come to the rescue, she thought. It is a handy spell that she learnt almost the first thing in the first potions class. "Incendio!" a small blue flame errupted from the bottom of her cauldron.

She raised her eyebrows. That has never happened before. Usually, her flames are just orange and small. Now it's blue, which means that it's hotter. She figured that she is getting better and better in magic.

Still stuffing his face with the chocolate bars , Daichi saw that the blackboard began to write the ingredients on with the use of magic and he sat a little more upright knowing that they were going to start brewing soon.

He had just set his cauldron on his desk and was about to retrieve the ingredients from the cupboard when he heard his name. His last name being called and as he looked at the Professor he heard the angry tone in her voice.

"But..but..but i don't want to share!" he mumbled as he looked at HIS chocolate with his lower lip sticking out a bit. He had touched the chocolate bars so therefore he concidered it HIS now.

But then she seemed to have turned her attention towards the class again. Daichi took this time to quickly clean his cauldron with Scourgify and added water in it with Aguamenti. Placing his vine wood back in his holster he groaned as he had to grab it again.

A light and intense fire? ...great... Quickly looking up from his cauldron to see if the Professor was looking at him for not sharing HIS CHOCOLATE! he moved his wand under the cauldron and said. "Incendio" the flames were too soft and died out only after a few seconds. "Incendio" he said a bit more clearly now and the tip of his wand made contact with the underside of his cauldron and it set on fire. Luckily at the right temperature.

Lily waited as the professor explained the next steps. Then she proceeded to fill her cauldron with water. Once it was full, she lifted it onto the stand above the burner. Now time to light the burner... intense fire but not large, got it. Lily thought as she proceeded to light the burner. Now to just make it an intense flame... Next, Lily adjusted the strength of the flame to be just right before turning to her notebook and jotting information down.

Sophie watched what Professor Lafay did and quickly wrote down a few notes.



Putting down her quill, she pulled out her wand and pointed it into the cauldron. "Aguamenti!" She watched as water filled up the cauldron. "Finite." Now the fire... uh... she looked around at her classmates to see what they were doing to get fire. "Oh, yeah! Incendio!" Sophie remembered her parents using that one a lot, but she had never tried it before.

"Okay, where's the..." she mumbled looking underneath her cauldron and spotting the burner. Staring directly at it, she pointed her wand in its direction and concentrated. She did not want to explode anything or set a huge fire right there. "Incendio." She said sharply. She raised both eyesbrows when a small flame came out of her wand and lit the burner. "Wicked!" she thought with a smile on her face.

Making sure that his cauldren was completey clean, the Gyffindor looked inside the pewter vessel and double checked it's wall--all clean! August was glad that he had finally gotten the hang of the cleaning spell, because he would have been lost from the get go in all of his Potions lessons for the rest of his Hogwarts years.

An intense fire, hmm... Auggie pointed his wand at the space underneath his cauldren and spoke the incantation for fire. "Incendio." He watched the flame shoot out and held it for an extra second, hoping it was more intense than usual. Next he filled it with water. "Aguamenti." Good so far.

Pulling out her wand, Elise realized that she hadn't cleaned her cauldron yet. "Scourgify," she whispered, cleaning out her cauldron three times and still feeling tempted to do more. She needed to focus more on the fire, though.

Intense and high, but not big. "Incendio!" she muttered, focusing on creating a fire beneath her cauldron. It flickered a little for a moment before blowing out. Fail. "Incendio!" she tried, clearer this time.

Brilliant blue and orange flames jumped up to lick the cauldron, but not large enough to burn anything else. Hopefully, this was what she meant.

"Aguamenti!" she cast, wand pointed into the cauldron until the water reached the level she wanted it to. Then, she used a simple "Finite," to stop the flow. Perfect.

Aurora scribbled down the ingredients onto a piece of parchment and took out her wand. She scourgified her work area and her cauldron before retrieving the ingredients. Then she filled her cauldron with water as instructed and pointed her wand underneath it, lighting a fire and prodding at it until it was intense - but not too big!

Sierra's brown eyes quickly scanned the list of ingredients. Carrots weren't on there, but neither were her first two choices either. Sierra pushed herself out her seat then headed to the cupboard and brought back an armload of ingredients. With that done, she flicked out her wand and aimed it toward her cauldron. "Scourgify!" she said.

Right. That was one part she'd never forget. Starting over just wasn't her style.



With her wand still out and in her hands, Sierra looked up at her mother as she listened to the next set of directions. "Aguamenti!" she cast, turning back to her cauldron. The water filled the cauldron until Sierra had just enough water to start the brewing. "Finite," she said, causing the water to flow no more. "Incendio," she added, lighting a fire under the cauldron. As the fire sparked to life, Sierra sat back and waited again.

Annabelle heard she was supposed to start her fire to her cauldron. She said "Aquamenti!" and water filled in her cauldron. She then said "Incendio!" and the fire began to spark letting heat come out of the cauldron. I wonder how this potion will come out. She made a note of the steps into her notebook

Sean had written down and gotten all the ingredients the professor had asked for. He was nervous since most of his potions hadn't done too well. He set out his cauldron and and pulled out his wand. "Scourgify!" He said and cleaned his cauldron.

Now that it was clean time for water and fire! "Aquamenti!" Sean said and let his cauldron fill up. Next was fire. "Incendio!" He said and started a roaring fire under his cauldron. He hoped it wasn't too big, but it was getting a little too warm to stand by. So he poured a little water from his cauldron and the fire slowed.

"Well done, Class. Now. Bubertuber pus." She said putting on her dragon hide gloves. "This is a thick yellow-green fluid," she said scooping some with her gloved finger, "which needs to be handled with gloves. Dragonhide. Or else you will develop nasty boils. This is what happens when undiluted. So put on your dragonhide gloves and with a metal spoon, put in the five drops, stirring counter clockwise six times."

Taylor hated this part of the potion. She grimaced at the sight of the pus. Tay slipped on her dragonhide gloves and then with a metal spoon that she had scorched clean, she dropped in five drops of the Bubertuber pus. Taylor stirred the potion counterclockwise....1....2....3.....4......5...... 6. When she finished the 6th round, she paused and waited for the professor to go on in her instructions.

Alyssa listened and watched as the Professor demonstrated the next steps to making the potion. Once they were given the "okay" to proceed themselves, she took out her dragon hide gloves from her pocket and put them on. Then she took out her wand and pointed it at the metal spoon lying on her work desk and said "Scourgify" to clean it. Once she had cleaned the metal spoon, she scooped up the bubertuber pus and added five drops into her cauldron. "One...Two...Three...Four...Five" Alyssa counted out the number of drops as she added it into her cauldron. She then stirred the mixture with the spoon making sure that she was stirring it counter clockwise. "One...Two...Three...Four....Five...Six".

She then stopped stirring and while keeping an eye on her potion in the cauldron, she added her steps into her journal.





She then sat back and waited for further instructions.

Sean rummaged through his bag and found his gloves. But, he couldn't find a spoon. He dug and dug until at the very bottom there it was! He pulled out the spoon and set it on the desk. "Scourgify!" He said holding his wand. There now he was ready.

He put on his gloves and grabbed his spoon. Soon he was carefully putting five drops of Bubertuber pus into his cauldron. Now he stirred the developing potion 6 times counter clockwise. Smiling to himself since he was certain he hadn't messed up yet.

Well done? Kurumi sort of just stared at Professor Lafay and gawked for a few moments. Had she actually just complimented the class? The ENTIRE class? This concept was so foreign to Kurumi that she nearly forgot that she still had a potion to brew.

Gloves. Right. Dragonhide gloves. She needed to put those on...so she did and then grabbed her spoon as well. After making sure that her spoon was clean, Kurumi scooped up some of the bubertuber pus and slooooowly tilted it towards her cauldron. *PLOP* In it went. *PLOP PLOP* And some more. *PLOP PLOP PLOP* There, five drops had been added - or so the Gryffindor thought.

Cleaning off her spoon now, Kurumi then stirred the contents of her cauldron counter clockwise six times and then tapped the side of the cauldron with her spoon to make sure that as much liquid as possible stayed in it before setting her spoon down and adding what she had just done to her parchment.

Nodding her head as Professor Lafay gave the next instructions, Amelia placed her dragonhide gloves on her hand. She hadn't needed to be told what the substance could do to the skin; she already knew full well from experience. That had been a nasty time, and she didn't want to dwell on it so she just picked up her spoon and placed it in the bubetuber pus. "One... Two... Three... Four... Five..." She placed all five drops into the cauldron and then stirred the mixture making sure to go counter-clockwise. "One... Two... Three... Four... Five... Six..."

When she was done, she recorded the next step in her notebook:

2. After putting on dragonhide gloves, add five spoonfuls of bubertuber pus. Stir counter-clockwise six times.

Eww.. Bubertuber pus. Raven noticed on the thick yellow-green-fluid. It looked disgusting! She quickly wore her dragonhide gloves, took the metal spoon and cleaned it. Then carefully she scooped the Bubertuber pus and added five drops off them to the cauldron.

Then she stirred it very carefully, six times, clockwise. Raven didn't know why she was very nervous on this class. Did Lafay looked scary to her? Or maybe because she was not in good condition? Her head was still painful. But she tried to catch up the lesson.

Sky slipped on her dragonhide gloves and grabbed her spoon. She made sure the spoon was clean before using it to add the drops of bubertuber pus, her nose wrinkling slightly at the look of the pus. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Now that that was done, she started stirring the mixture the required six times counterclockwise. Once she was done stirring, she waited for further instructions.

Her flame was still controlled, so Stella applied herself to making sure everything else stayed organized while she waited for the next step. She also Scourgified most of her tools, just to be careful, then looked over as Professor Lafay finally spoke. Bubotuber pus, she thought, inwardly cringing at the image of the professor's finger dripping with the goo. It just made her think of mucus, and the thought of putting that in a potion was just disgusting. Hopefully they weren't going to have to ingest their potions, but even putting it on their skin seemed like something she'd rather not do. But then, she didn't have acne at the moment either, so it was possibly moot.

She definitely put her own dragonhide gloves on first, without a pause, before picking up her metal spoon. At least that had been one of the things she'd Scourgified moments before, and she dipped it into the pus carefully. Adding five drops to her cauldron, she quickly moved on to stirring. "One, two, three, four, five, six," she murmured to herself, moving the spoon in the required counter-clockwise direction before removing it and letting the liquid drip off. Once it appeared the spoon was about as dry as possible, she took it from above the cauldron and quickly Scourgified it again before setting it down so she could add to her notes. She didn't want even diluted bubotub er pus on her notes after all.

With her cauldron now full of, hopefully hot, water, she got out her Dragonhide Gloves and put them on, making sure they were all snug and fitting well. She pulled the container of Bubertuber pus from her small collection, and gathered her metal spoon with the other hand. Taking off the lid, she measured 5 drops exactly and put them into the cauldron. When she had done that she put the lid back on the container and put it back in place, waiting for the next direction.

Janice put on her dragonhide gloves and took her metal spoon, scooped in 5 drops of the Bobotuber pus ("Eww," she said) and stirred the mixture counter clockwise six times. She then wrote the next few steps in her notes while waiting for the next instructions.

"Aguamenti," Tayla said, pointing her wand at the inside of her cauldron. After filling it with enough water, she next lit the burner underneath. "Incendio!" Hmm...the fire looked intense enough.


Tayla took out her dragon hide gloves and put them on. With a metal spoon, she scooped out some of the thick yellow-green bubertuber pus and carefully put five drops into her cauldron. She then stirred the mixture six times, counter clockwise.

Ella glanced at the Bubertuber pus with a frown, pulling on her dragon hide gloves extra carefully. There was no way she wanted to get boils. Once her gloves were securely on, she grabbed a metal spoon and cleaned it for good measure. "Aguamenti." After she cleaned the spoon, she placed it down and picked up the Bubertuber pus gingerly, dropping five drops into the cauldron. "One..Two..Three..Four..Five.." Picking up the spoon again, she started to stir the liquid counter clockwise. "One...two...three...four...five...six." When she was finished, she removed the spoon, cleaning it once again, and placed it back on the table. She decided to keep her gloves on for the moment, just in case.
