Hecate had brought a tray with a few items on them. Flowers, Shellfish, Strawberries, peanuts and other things. Her large cauldron was seated on it's burner, which was not lit, before her.
She was in a good enough mood. Things were going well in her personal life. She just needed to get used to certain things... that would come with time. She opened the classroom, and waited for her students to file in.
ooc: This class will stay open for at least 72 hours (probably more.) Also thanks to Antarctica! for taking the picture of the Potions Classroom for me at the WWoHP, and to Ameh for makin it into a pretty graphic!

Taylor scourched her mortar so that it will be clean.... she didn't want Professor Lafay to get even more annoyed at her. She took the two dock leaves and placed them in her mortar. She crushed the leaves up and then went to get the ashwinder egg. She broke it and added it into the mortar and then quickly put the springs of fluxweed in. Taylor then gently and without spilling a drop poured the mixture into the caludron

This step was going to be a lot of work. So Lily got to it. She went and got the dock leaves, the mortar and pestal, and one ashwinder egg, and returned to her area. She cleaned her mortar, before adding the dock leaves and crushing them. She broke her egg and added it to the mortar. Quickly, Lily then added the four sprigs of fluxweed into the mortar. Then, following the professor's instruction she poured the whole mix into the cauldron. Once that was done, Lily went to her parchment and started marking what they had done.
Steps:
1. Clean the cauldron
2. Pour water
3. Add 10 drops of Valerian root and Salamander blood alternatively.
4. Clean mortar and pestle
5. Crush dock leaves
6. Break Ashwinder egg into the mortar with the crushed leaves
7. QUICKLY add 4 sprigs of fluxweed
8. Add mixture to cauldron
Once she had finished with her notes, Lily looked up to the front of the room, to wait for the next set of instructions on what to do.

WHOA WHOA WHOA. Now Lafay had suddenly stepped on the gas and was going SUPER fast. Wrinkling his brows, he quickly jotted down the instructions she'd just spat out so he wouldn't forget. Ok, get the leaf thing and crush it, he could handle that. He gathered up two dock leaves, as Lafay had said, and dropped them in his mortar before picking up the pestal and beginning to crush the leaves like Lafay had done. It only took him a few minutes, and soon the leaves were crushed just as the professor had wanted them.
He then walked over to the refridgerator and grabbed an ashwinder egg. Eggs always scared him, he was afraid he'd trip and fall and bust the egg open and get on Lafay's last nerve. He wasn't sure why he had such a fear of that, he had never actually DONE that before...still, he didn't want to see what she'd do if he DID do that.
He headed back to his station and broke the egg, adding it to the mortar with the leaves before grabbing 4 springs of fluxweed and dropping it in the mortar as well. He wasn't sure what exactly would happen to that egg if he didn't add it right away, so with lightning fast speed, he picked up the mortar and dropped it all in the cauldron. THERE. Done. Hopefully that had been fast enough!

Aurora picked up her mortar and pestle and scourgified them, dropping two dock leaves into it. Then she began to crush them with her pestle... Okay, that's that done. She stood up, moving to the refrigerated section of the storeroom and taking an Ashwinder egg. She broke it into the mortar over the dock leaves and grabbed up her fluxweed, dropping it on top of the egg quickly. Then she turned the whole thing upside down into her cauldron.
Method
1. Clean cauldron and add water.
2. Drop in the Valerian and Salamander, alternate drops.
3. Crush Dock leaves in mortar and pestle.
4. Crack Ashwinder egg into the mortar, add fluxweed immediately, then put the mixture into cauldron.

Okay. Professor Lafay gave the next instructions and the eaglette quickly jotted it down on her parchment.
1. Fill the cauldron with water.
2. Add the Valerian root and Salamander blood drops alternately one at a time.
3. Crush the two dock leaves with the mortar and pestal.
4. Go to the refrigerated section and remove an Ashwinder Egg, break it and add it into the mortar.
5. Quickly add the 4 sprigs Fluxweed and place mixture on the cauldron.
Next was to what? Oh, retrieve the two dock leaves and place it in the mortar. And so she did, after cleaning the mortar. And then, she used the pestal to crush it. After a few minutes of crushing, she inspected the leaves to make sure all of it was crushed and that there were no large parts left uncrushed.
Then.. Beezus proceeded to the refrigerated section to get an Ashwinder egg. She fell in line with her classmates as she waited for her turn, when it was, she picked a not so big but not so small egg then went back to her working area. Referring to her parchment, she broke the egg carefully and added it into the mortar. Next was to add the fluxweed sprigs quickly. And quickly, Beezus did.
When she was done with that, she poured the mixture into her cauldron.

India looked at her notes - still only one carrot drawn and she had to clean her mortar and pestle. Taking it out she wiped it off with a cleansing cloth she'd brought with her before taking out her wand and quickly scourgifying it. There. They were both perfectly bright, gleaming and clean.
Placing the dock leaves into the bowl she began to crush them now the hard part. Walking over to the refrigerated section of the supplies she gently pulled out an ashwinder egg. Breaking it when she was back at her table she quickly placed it into the mortar and pestle mixture and added the four sprigs of fluxweed. Few.
Now she had the time to quickly - but not too quickly drop the mixture into the cauldron. Now she had to wait for the next step. Right now she wanted the potion finished so her eyes would stop watering already. Maybe she had an allergy she hadn't known about.
Anything fragrant in the room? She wondered. Right pollen.
Maybe it was something else? She didn't know.

Just as Sierra finished up, she heard the familiar sound of Lafay's voice directing them on to the next step. She surveyed the ingredients before her in search of the dock leaves. Finding them, she retrieved two of them then slid the mortar and pestal toward her. Dropping the two dock leaves into the mortar, she began crushing them with the pestal.
With that done, she left her workstation for the refrigerator and retrieved an Ashwinder egg. Back at her workstation, she broke the egg and added its contents into the mortar. Then in went the four sprigs of fluxweed. With all the ingredients as they should be, she tilted the mixture toward the cauldron and added the mixture inside.
Glenn watched the professor as she demonstrated what they had to do. Once the professor was done, Glenn looked critically at her pestle and mortar and decided to clean them as well as her cauldron. "Scourgify." she said pointing her wand at the mortar, and again using the same spell on the pestle.
Now satisfied that she had cleaned them well enough, she retrieved two dock leaves and placed them in her mortar crushing it until it was fine then went over to the refrigerated section and got an Ashwinder egg. Glenn carried it carefully on her way back to her desk, she broke the egg into the mortar then quicky added the four sprigs of Fluxweed. After that, Glenn poured the mixture into her cauldron. There. She blew her hair out of her eyes and relaxed util the professor told them what else she needed to do next.

Right - next. She went to the fridge and retrieved an ashwinder egg and went back to where her cauldron and equipment was all set up. She has to... Break the egg? Oh no, she was useless at breaking eggs. Her own mother had banned her from breaking them inside her pristine kitchen. Okay, we'll she wasnt about to ask for help to crack an egg. She tried her best and saw that quick was best. Quick meant she didn't have time to think about what she was doing. Quickly she neatly and carefully smashed the egg on the corner of the mortar and broke it inside the mortar. There were a few bits of shell in there but she found a stirer and picked them our without disturbing the dock leaves or the egg.
Next step was to quickly add four of the fluxweed sprigs to the mortar. Then she saw it was time to add all of that to the cauldron, which she did quickly.

Alyssa put down her quill and made her way to the Potions Ingredients cupboard to retrieve 2 dock leaves and 4 sprigs of Fluxweed from it. She took the ingredients back to her workstation. Picking up the mortar, she took out her wand and pointing it inside the mortar, cleaned it by saying,"Scourgify". Then she did the same for the pestle before she holstered her wand. She examined both to make sure they were clean before she added the 2 dock leaves into the mortar. Picking up her pestel, she pressed onto the dock leaves and proceeded to crush them.
Once she was done crushing the dock leaves, Alyssa walked over to the Refrigerated section of the classroom and removed an Ashwinder Egg from it. Taking it back to her workstation, Alysssa quickly broke it before it started to heat up again. She poured its contents into the mortar, making sure that no pieces of its shell dropped in. She then quickly added the 4 sprigs of Fluxweed into the mortar, before picking up the mortar and pouring its contents into her cauldron.
Alyssa looked into her cauldron to make sure that the mixture was mixing properly. Then she sat back and waited for further instructions.

Getting the 2 dock leaves, she was about to place them in her mortar when she heard the other students using the Cleaning Spell again. So she pulled out her wand and pointed it at the mortar. "Scourgify!" Nothing seemed to happen again. Sophie shrugged and placed the dock leaves in her mortar, crushing them with the pestal anyway.
She went to the refrigerated area and carefully got an Ashwinder Egg and walked back to where all of her stuff was. Before breaking it and adding it to the mortar, Sophie made sure the springs Fluxweed were close enough for her to be able to do everything fast and without making a mess.
Holding her breath, Sophie broke the egg and put it in the mortar, then quickly added the 4 springs Fluxweed. She glanced at the mixture for a fraction of seconds and poured it into her cauldron. She breathed again and stared at her potion with a small smile for a little while before looking back up at Professor Lafay.

Now the question would be what they were supposed to do next, but she sat back and waited. And Scourgified her mortar and pestle one more time, before adding the steps she'd just completed to her notes.

Procedure:
Clean cauldron
Fill cauldron with water
Add the 10 drops of valerian root & salamander blood one at a time alternating between the two
Clean mortar and pestle
Crush dock leaves
break Ashwinder egg into the mortar with the crushed leaves

Shrugging, she cracked it on the side of her mortar and emptied its contents into the mortar before adding the four sprigs of Fluxweed. Breathing in, she picked up her mortar and emptied its contents into her cauldron as quickly as she could. Putting the utensils back on the table, she scourgified them both before bending over and adding to her notes.

Retrieving two dock leaves, Louisa dropped them into the mortar and started crushing them. Not too violently nor too gently. It only took about half a minute of careful crushing to mince the leaves well. Dropping the pestal, she moved to the refrigerated section. Her hands found an Ashwinder egg and cupped it delicately.
Back to her workspace, the girl broke the egg on top of the crushed leaves. Her fingers quickly grabbed four of sprigs Fluxweed and added them to the mixture.

A faint trickle released itself from his wand tip. That will take forever. He ended the spell. More concentration. Aguamenti. This time a gush spewed forth. After a minute or so, he released the magic and had a semi-full cauldron.
Next, Keefer picked up the salamander blood in his left hand and the Valerian root in his right. He wasn't sure if mattered which ingredient started the cycle. But Lafay had started with Valerian root, so he would as well. His right hand dropped in one bit, then his left hand. One. He repeated the process nine more times until each ingredient had ten drops in the potion.
He fetched a pair of dock leaves, then placed them in the mortar. He crushed it until it was a fine powder. He grabbed the four sprigs of fluxweed and set them next to the mortar, ready to add. Leaving his cauldron, he went to retrieve the Ashwinder egg. Merlin, that's cold! He hurried back to his pestal and broke the egg. With his other hand, he added the fluxweed. He hoped he hadn't taken too long as he added it to his cauldron.

The Gryffindor paused a second between each drop, and continued until each of them had been relieved of 10 drops. There that step was finished.
Wow the Potion's Mistriss must want them out of her dungeons, she was moving sort of fast; Auggie was trying his best to keep up though. Looking up from his potion and nodding at each of her next instructions he then quickly put the two dock leaves into his morter and then used the pestal to pulverize them.
After the leaves were sufficiently crushed, the fourth year walked over to the refrigerated section he was instructed to and retirved the Ashewinder egg with gloves on--he couldn't remember if they were needed or not, but better safe than sorry. Auggie then broke it and added it to the morter and then threw in the 4 sprigs of Fluxweed as fast as he could find them on the table.
Then he quickly added it to his cauldren. Was it him or did those steps make anyone else nervous, that's what he didn't cook.

After five seconds of breathing in and out, Violet carefully picked up the mortar and poured all the contents into her cauldron. Once more, Violet scourgified her mortar and pestle. She was now done and jotted down the rest of the steps she had done. Violet sat back down to wait for the professor's next steps.

Vashti wrote them down quickly, trying to watch what the professor did at the same time. Once that was done, she went and retrieved the two dock leaves, but before putting them into the mortar, she picked up her wand with her free hand and cast a quick "Scourgify," on the mortar and pestle. Now that she knew they were clean too, she placed the leaves into the mortar and began crushing them with the pestle. Once that was completed, she took an Ashwinder egg, carefully broke it, and added it into the mortar. She then grabbed four sprigs of fluxweed and quickly added them too, then added all of it to her cauldron.

She saw her notes and read that Ashwinder egg was needed. But where to get it? Then she remembered, to go to the refrigerated section and take one. So she went there and took the egg. She broke the egg into her mortar and proceeded to crush it. Then she quickly added the 4 sprigs of fluxweed into it. Then taking the mortar into her hands, she tipped it lightly and poured the entire mixture into her cauldron. Then she waited for further instructions.

Referring to her parchment, she broke the egg carefully and added it into the mortar. Next was to add the fluxweed sprigs quickly. And quickly, Beezus did.
When she was done with that, she poured the mixture into her cauldron.

India looked at her notes - still only one carrot drawn and she had to clean her mortar and pestle. Taking it out she wiped it off with a cleansing cloth she'd brought with her before taking out her wand and quickly scourgifying it. There. They were both perfectly bright, gleaming and clean.
Placing the dock leaves into the bowl she began to crush them now the hard part. Walking over to the refrigerated section of the supplies she gently pulled out an ashwinder egg. Breaking it when she was back at her table she quickly placed it into the mortar and pestle mixture and added the four sprigs of fluxweed. Few.
Now she had the time to quickly - but not too quickly drop the mixture into the cauldron. Now she had to wait for the next step. Right now she wanted the potion finished so her eyes would stop watering already. Maybe she had an allergy she hadn't known about.
Anything fragrant in the room? She wondered. Right pollen.
Maybe it was something else? She didn't know.

India made sure to clean off her wooden stirrer and set it propped to the side of her ingredients kit. She'd give it another once over before she used it to stir, having everything off of it however seemed a very important thing as it was wood and wood sometimes absored things like other potion ingredients and the works. Taking out the Murtlap Essence she counted carefully as she readied her dropped.
She'd dropped in as much as she needed stoppering the bottle and cleaning her hand she picked up her wand and pointed it had the stirrer. "Scurgify" she cleaned it off and knew it was now safe to use.
One Stir, Two Stirs, Three stirs, Four Stirs - all counter clockwise. Now she was going to keep it up since she was halfway there.
Five Stirs, Six Stirs, Seven Stirs, Eight Stirs - yes! She'd done it taking out her wooden stirrer she cleaned it before placing it into her ingredients kit. While in the kit she cleaned her hands and picked up the two sprigs of parsley - with them in hand she gently began to grind them together in her hand adding the loose bits of parsley in as it fell from her hand.

Mortimer nodded as the Professor spoke. Pulling his mortar and pestle closer to himself and quickly cleaned them with a Scourgify and smiled to himself. Yep. CLEAN! Now NEXT STEP! Grabbing the two dock leaves he dropped them into his mortar and began to crush them as instructed.
When that was done to satisfaction he got up and went to retrieve an AShwinder egg. VERY CAREFULLY he made his way back to his station with it. Cracking it with great care into the mortar he then QUICKLY added the four sprigs of fluxweed. Once everything was mixed as it should be he added the contents into his cauldron.
Nodding as Lafay gave further instructions he carefully added the TEN drops of murtlap essence. Grabbing his wooden stirrer he commenced to stirring EIGHT times counter clockwise. Smiling once more to himself he snatched up the two parsley leaves and did as instructed... he crushed them loosely in his hands, letting the flakes fall into his cauldron along with the other ingredients.
"Alright..." she said and waited for everyone's attention. "Please add the 10 drops Murtlap Essence, and stir eight times with your wooden stirrer counter-clockwise." She showed them how she'd do it and then added. "You want to take the two sprigs Parsley and crush them loosely in your hands above the cauldron, adding the flakes as they fall." She showed them.
Taylor added 10 drops of Murtlap Essence to the cauldron and began stirring counter-clockwise.... 1....2....3....4....5....6....7....and 8 with her wodden stirrer. She took two sprigs of persley and crushed them using her hands, watching as the flakes fell into the cauldron.

Jonathan got ready when the professor was now demonstrating the next step and ingredients for the potions. He eyed how she crushed the parsley. So it's crushed by hands and allow flakes fall inside. Got it.
So the next ingredients that they'll be using are the Murtlap Essence, wooden stirrer and two sprigs Parsley. Jonathan readied them onto the sides and took his wand again and the wooden stirrer on his free hand. Pointing at it "Scourgify" he cleaned the wooden stirrer before he will use it.
Okay... so 10 drops of Murtlap Essence. He placed the dropper on top of the cauldron and began counting the drops this time. 1...2...3...4...5..6...7..8...9...10. He placed the dropper onto the empty side of the table, so that he'll know, he has used it. Next, is to stir. It was 8 times and in a counter-clockwise movement. Jonathan took his clean wooden stick and placed it inside his cauldron. In a counter-clockwise motion he began counting again. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8!
Jonathan smiled. He really does enjoy Potions a lot. Ohhhh! Parsley. He almost forgot about that one. He took two of the sprigs parsley and crushed them above his cauldron, like what the professor had demonstrated.
As Lafay continued to demonstare the following steps, Hades observed carefully and surprisingly, quietly. Taking the Murtlap Essence, he lifted it up not so high over the cauldron as he cautiously released drop by drop for ten times. Finished with the Murtlap, he gently pushed it away from his cauldron and picked up his wooden stirrer. Then, Hades stirred the solution from right to left. When he was halfway finishing the stirring part, he took two sprigs Parsley with his other hand and softly crushed them into flakes. The boy then added the flakes into the solution after he was done stirring eight times.

Jory carefully added 10 drops of the Murtlap Essence and stirred eight times counter clockwise with the wooden stirrer, just as the Professor had instructed and showed the class.
Next, he took two sprigs Parsley and gently crushed them in his hand and watched them fall directly into the cauldron.
Finishing up that set of instructions, Jory cleaned up his surroundings, made his notes and waited as the other students finished adding their parsley.

Violet listened and watched the teacher as she demonstrated to the class for the next steps. So Murtlap Essence. Violet picked up the bottle and dropped 10 drops into her cauldron. One...two...three..four...five...six...seven..eigh t..nine..ten. Now time to stir the contents. Violet picked up her stirrer to mix the contents. Violet began to stir, but wait.
O____O Had she just stirred it half way into clockwise? UH OH! Violet quickly glanced at the teacher in the corner of her eye to see if she had seen it and stirred back the contents counter-clockwise eight times. It wasn't going to destroy her potion for stirring it clockwise only halfway right?
Then, Violet picked up her two sprigs of Parsley and crushed them in her hand before sprinkling it into the cauldron. After finishing, she jotted down the steps that she had done and waited for the professor's next steps.

Ryan looked up and listened to everything Professor Lafay said and writing down it all as well.To start he added the Murtlap and stirred 8 timescounter clock wise.Then crush the Sprigs of Parsley and add it to the Potion.Easy.

He set the mortar & pestle down then retrieved the Ashwinder egg from the fridge area. Carefully, he broke the egg into the mortar then dropped in the fluxweed sprigs as well. He neared his cauldron then tipped the contents of the mortar into the awaiting solution.

Vickers nodded silently, then reached out to retrieve the Murtlap Essence. He set the container down momentarily and took a few seconds to scourgify the wooden stirrer. With one hand he took the dropper from the Murtlap Essence, counting the drops that fell into the cauldron until he reached ten. Setting the dropper aside, he promptly began mixing the solution with the wooden stirrer, counting silently to eight as he moved it around the cauldron counter-clockwise.
When that was completed, he took two Parsley sprigs and pulled the leaves out from the main stem, crushing them further between his fingers as he sprinkled them over the mixture.

- Fill cauldron with water using Aguamenti.
- Fill each dropper with the ingredients: Salamander blood and Valerian Root
- Alternately add a drop of each ingredient until 10 drops of each have been added into the cauldron.
- Scourgify mortar & pestle
- Crush 2 dock leaves
- Break open 1 Ashwinder egg into mortar and quickly add 4 Fluxweed sprigs into it
- Add mortar contents into cauldron
- Add in 10 drops of Murtlap Essence
- Scourgify wooden stirrer, stir mixture counter-clockwise eight times.
- Crush 2 Parsley sprigs with fingers and add them into mixture.

She then quickly noted down the ingredients that she would need and scratched them off the list of ingredients that the Professor had written down on the Board and which she had copied and written in her journal.

Putting down her quill she made her way back to the Ingredient Supply cupboard and taking out another vial and dropper from her jacket and pumped out 10 drops of Murtlap Essence into her vial before covering it with a cork. She also removed two sprigs of Parsley from the cupboard before making her way back to her workstation.
Placing the vial and sprigs on her workstation, Alyssa took out her wand and pointing it at her wooden stirrer said,"Scourgify" to clean it. Once her wooden stirrer was clean, Alyssa picked up the vial, removed the cork and added the 10 drops of Murtlap Essence into the cauldron. She then picked up her wooden stirrer and started stirring the mixture making sure that she was stirring counter clockwise. She counted off as she stirred. "One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight". She immediately stopped stirring and placed her stirrer back on the table.
Alyssa reviewed her journal one more time before picking up the two sprigs of Parsley. Using both hands, she placed them over her cauldron. Gently rubbing the sprigs of parsley between her fingertips, she loosely crushed the parsley letting the flakes fall into the cauldron. She looked into her cauldron as they fell and once all the Parsley was crushed, Alyssa waited for further instructions.

Murtlap essence. Okay. Sky found that and added the required ten drops. She pick up her wooden stirrer, cast a quick "Scourgify!" on it, and used it to stirred her potion. "1… 2… 3… 4… 5… 6… 7…8." Counterclockwise, of course. And now the parsley. She picked up the two sprigs and crushed them in her hand over her cauldron, adding the falling flakes to the potion. All the while resisting the urge to compare that technique to the one chefs use to add seasonings to food. Yep, did not want to go there!

Having poured her mixture in her mortar into her cauldron, Kurumi glanced up when Professor Lafay began demonstrating the next few steps. Slowly and gingerly, Kurumi added her Murtlap Essence, making sure that each drop had time to settle before the next one was added and then picked up her wooden spoon. "Scourgify," she said, flicking her wand and ensuring that it too was clean. She then inserted it into her cauldron and stirred counter-clockwise 8 times. Removing the spoon from the mixture, Kurumi tapped the edge of her cauldron to make sure that any excess wasn't wasted.
Setting the spoon down now, Kurumi picked up the parsley and crushed it in her hands. She never really liked the smell of parsley. It reminded her of a heavy meal of steak and potatoes...Kurumi was much more of a fish person. Once the parsley was in, Kurumi returned to her notes to write down the steps she had just taken.

Glenn listened to the Professor demonstrate then started the instructions. She got the Murtlap Essense out, "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven , eight, nine and ten." She murmured as each drop fell into her cauldron.
Now to stir it. She picked up her wooden stirrer and pointed her wand in her other hand at it, "Scourgify" The spell did the trick and was left sparkling. Glenn started stirring, going counter-clockwise as she went. Once she had stirred eight times she set it down again and picked up the two sprigs of Parsley and crushed it gently above her cauldron. The flakes falling as she did so. There.

Elise looked up just as she'd finished her notes seeing as Lafay had started on the next step. She should probably write faster next time. 10 drops Murtlap Essence and 8 times counter clockwise. Okay, she could do this.
Taking the dropper, she cast a quick Cleaning Spell on it before sucking in the Murtlap Essence. Holding it gingerly above the cauldron, she carefully squeezed out the mixture.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Oops, not enough in the dropper. Taking more, she continued the process. Eight. Nine. Ten. Done. Squeezing the remaining essence back into the bottle, she re-corked it and moved on to the next step.
Picking up two sprigs of Parsley, she crushed them between her palms as she'd seen Lafay doing. Moving her hands back and forth, she allowed the flakes to fall into the slightly moving liquid. Once she was done, she dusted her hands off and continue with her notes.
