| | What in Merlin's Beard? Term 29 (2075-2076) A bit confused about the plot? Housemates talking about a mysterious something going bump in the night? Here's where you can catch up on happenings around the Castle, Diagon Alley, and Hogsmeade -- out of character, of course.
This means that unless your student character heard this stuff from other students or witnessed the actual event, your student character doesn't know about it.
Also, this is a reminder to everyone to only post updates on the school plot here. Please do not post the happenings of your student character in here - that kind of chat goes in the school chat thread.
Have fun! |

A few interesting posts dealing with...snow animals?!

Seems the snowmen aren't just here to party... Quote:

Either way, that was going to be her excuse if anyone questioned why she'd left the snowman scene. Asking the other professors if they knew anything, and maybe the headmaster too.
But first, she'd headed down toward the DADA corridor. It was always possible there was something nefarious about their snow creations suddenly invading the school, even if she'd only seen the one. Not to mention the snowman hadn't really been too evil-acting, besides the flooding the ground floor. She thought asking the DADA professor was a good idea anyhow, but stopped suddenly at the sound of dripping. Oh no. What now?, she thought, turning slowly to see a ram roaming around. A ram. She didn't remember any of those from the grounds, from the competition. A snow ram noticing her didn't exactly seem like a good idea, though, so she'd started inching her way backward, quietly. That idea about finding the headmaster seemed like a better idea now, provided she could get there without running into the snow ram, or anything else. Quote:

And FIRST place goes too....Selina Skylar for her snowman version of Godric Gryffindor." Yes, yes, students could clap now. Scabior reached into his pocket taking out three tiny items, he tapped his wand against them and they started to grow into full sized medals. Locating each child he tossed the medals at them, before reaching into his pocket and this time enlarging three containers filled with snowmen cookies. "Here, make yourself useful." He said shoving the stacked containers into Althea's arms. "Winners, you each get one of those containers." Soo...go grab them from Professor Schirmer's hands before she exploded.
But WAIT that wasn't all. "For groups we only have two winners." Because there was only five groups so...he thought that was fair. "RUNNER UP? Sierra Greingoth and Eino Uronen, for their snow couple." Greingoth...with Borr. UGH. "And FIRST place for Groups goes to Penny, Minerva, Janice, Alyssa and Jory, for their snow bear named Yogi." Good? Great. He dug into his other pocket and repeated the enlargement process- throwing the medals at each of them yet again, but this time he held their containers instead of shoving this set at the Charms Professor.
Alright. Hurry up. Get your cookies. He wanted to go. "Hope, ALL of you enjoyed making the snowmen. You all did pretty good." Not great. But really good...after all it was entertaining to watch.

Well well well! Look who's teaching Care of Magical Creatures. Quote:

It was an incredibly weird feeling being back at Hogwarts after all these years, especially to teach a class of all things. He never would've thought he'd do something like this - and fortunately (for both him and the children, probably) it was only temporary. Teaching wasn't really his thing, and being at Hogwarts brought back so many memories...
But no need to think about all that. On the bright side of it all, he was teaching a subject that he absolutely loved and about a creature he adored. So it really wasn't too bad. Is this replacement temporary? And will all go well with the infamous subject of hippogriffs?

Noticing a small wood panelled shed it hoped there might be something fun to do inside, not to mention it could do with a break. Grunting slightly under the weight of its spoils, it made its way over, dropping its things just outside. Now to get in. A cheeky smirk appeared on its face.
After jumping up at the door knob and fumbling a few times, it finally gained access to the shed. Ooohh, and just its luck. There were lots of bits and pieces here, though it looked like they hadn't been used in quite a while. Its eyes scanned the shiny objects lining the walls. It noticed a particularly shiny silver box and its eyes began to water as it gazed at the red hot seeds inside. Being curious, it extended a finger toward them, hesitating slightly before poking it. Flailing and sobbing, it threw the contents of the shiny metal box all over the shed. The seeds bounced and hissed as it made contact with the cool floor and bench top.
Ignoring the burning sensation on its finger, and the smoke that was beginning to rise from the seeds which were scattered around the place, it turned back to its things and gathered them in its arms. Looking around quickly to make sure nobody had seen it, it then added the metal box to its humble collection. Then ensuring it hadn't forgotten anything, and ignoring the flames which had started on the wooden surfaces of the shed, it left tiptoeing back toward the castle.

| *randomly tagged* | Norbert(a) | The Wandmaker (tm) Well, the little bugger Mysterious Tiny Figure sure gets around fast: Quote:
Originally Posted by Mysterious Tiny Figure This was a fun castle!
But the collection was getting heavy, even though it had stopped half way up to the Astronomy tower and placed the quill, ink and chalk into the shiny metal box. So with two thing tucked under it's arms, it huffed it's way up the many stairs to the observatory.
Face lighting up at the sight of the large telescope, it dropped the things it was carrying onto the floor and skipped over to it. But it was too high, and the thing couldn't reach the eyepiece to see out.
Stamping a foot on the floor, it turned around to face the cupboards, grumbling. Grinning cheekily, it ran over to the cupboards and tugged on the handles to open them. Inside were several smaller telescopes, vials and various stuff. Flailing it's arms around, it pulled one of everything out and spread it across the floor. A couple of the vials broke, sending glass scattering everywhere.
Gingerly touching a piece with it's already burnt finger, it felt that it was sharp and pulled away again. Flicking a few pieces away, it concentrated on the telescope, holding it up to it's eye, but the cover was on and it still couldn't see anything. Grunting, it began bashing it against the floor, denting it in a few places. Looking down at the mangled metal, it noticed that it's hands had some of the ink on them, and in turn so did the telescope.
Chuckling, it scrambled over to the shiny box and pulled out what was left of it's stolen ink. Yanking all the other telescopes out of the cupboard, it dipped a finger in the ink and and smeared it around the eye pieces of them, giggling. With it's hand now covered, it reached up and pulled itself on top of the cupboard. Jumping up and down it looked at all the pretty star charts. Smacking it's hands across a few of them, it ripped one down and threw it on the floor. But the last caught it's eye more. Pulling it down a little more carefully, the thing jumped down and ran back to it's collection.
Rolling it up, it tucked it under it's arm, then picked up the teddy and metal box. Leaving the mess of paper, glass and ink scattered across the whole floor, it leaped back down the steps one by one.
Observatories were fun!

Snoring portaits. Ooohh this could be funny. Biting its lower lip and grinning in excitement, the teddy and metal box were abandoned on the floor and it ran over to the very big and very tidy desk. Was there anything to have fun with? There was parchment! very neat, stacks of parchment! Dragging itself up onto the ornate armchair, it then pulled itself up onto the desk, with a little difficulty.
Once up here it had a pretty good view of the office. It was pretty and there were things! The portraits continued to snore, some of their subjects slumping in their frame.
Feeling a little rebellious, it decided to ... mess things up a bit. It was far too neat.
Bouncing excitedly, it kicked up a foot which sent a big pile of parchment crashing to the floor, it landed in a messy heap. It did the same to another similar pile, but got a little bored. Hopping down from the desk it eyed the pile of parchment, hhmmm. Another thought had occured to it.
Getting down on its knees, it took armfuls of the parchment and held it to its chest. Then with a small burst of energy sent them flying in the air, scattering all over the office floor. It wasn't quite like snow. The snow had been fun, but parchment didn't ahve the same effect.
Wiping its still inky hands on the carpet, it then turned to look at the photographs of various people sitting behind the big desk. Oohhhhh.
It took one of them, then returned to the foot of the stairs to collect its teddy and metal box. What else could it do now? it thought as it descended the stairs, its eyes scanning the shadows on the way down. It didn't want to get caught, nope, not yet. And has decided to mess with Professor Hadley's Arithmancy room: Quote:

Feeling rather tired, its little arms tensed from having to carry things for so long, it flopped to the floor and curled into a ball. The view was good from down here, and it saw books! smart people read those!
Having rested for a few minutes, it felt a little re-energised. Could it have more fun now? Oh yes it could.
Skipping over to one of the book shelves, it pulled out a thick and old looking volume from somewhere down the bottom. Simply because it was easier to reach. Flopping back down on the floor, it opened the cover and stared at the funny looking shapes inside. It couldn't read them, but it pretended it could. Then maybe it could be smart too.
After turning a lot of pages, it started getting bored again. Smart people must be very bored people, with all their boring books. Nope.
It went to close the book when it accidently tore out a page. The ripping noise filled the room, and made it excited! That sounded fun. It opened up the book again and inspected the torn out page. Then it took hold of another page, and gave it a good tug. RIP. Oohhhh fun! RIP. RIP.
It continued to rip pages until soon the whole book lay on the floor beside it. The cover was pretty and smart looking though, so it would keep it.
Now that it was rested and it had a new toy, it gathered the other things, the teddy, the metal box and the photo frame, and left the room. Peering around the corner of the door before sneaking off.

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
It jumped on a student's foot and kept running under the length of the table. Quote:

"Teeeheeeee!" The tiny figure, giggles wrapped in a Slytherin Banner, ran under the table. The plates on the table began to jiggle and bounce.
Some began to crack.
The banners from the ceiling continued to faaaaaall down on the students below.

Oh wait. It was a banner? Uh oh.
This was surely not a good thing.
"YYOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO, WHERE ARE YOU?!" she started yelling at the top of her high pitched elfish voice.
She'd jumped down from the table and was on her hands and knees, scanning the area between the students legs.
"Where'd it go? Quirly is a bad elf."

Tate + Students ies helped apprehend the baby elf, and after Prefect Hollingberry spoke up for it, it was allowed to stay. Quote:

Tate gestured to the sleeping elf, indicating that Nimma needed to come and claim it. They would worry about the name later. "Students, I apologize again for the delay. Let's take a moment to congratulate our Slytherin house for winning the trifecta this year. I believe this is the second year in the row for them. They are, however, losing many excellent point earners this year, so it may be anyone's race next term. Let's also congratulate our seventh years, as this is their leaving feast."
He waited for the applause to subside. "And I will keep this extremely brief, as I know how hungry you are by now. This was an excellent term for personal development and good behavior, and I'm proud of all of you. I hope next year will continue in the same way. No one died, and I didn't even have to remind you. So now, go on and eat, and when the train departs in a little while, please remember to take all your socks and belongings with you. I'll wish you good night." LET'S EAT! The end.
