Ira walked into the common room, still feeling surprised and amazed. The common room was huge but pleasant to look at. She saw two students answering some queries of others. Maybe they were prefects...she walked to them, eager to listen to their talk.
She ambled over and sat down in the chairs by the fireplace. She was new here, different culture, different thoughts...she wud have to change herself.
"Hi, I'm Ira Wilson from India"...

Brooklyn walked up from the feast after spending most of her time there talking to Paulie, the girl was more curious about her knew home than she originally had been. Upon giving the portrait the password, and following about a dozen other kids into the room, she paused for a moment to take in her surroundings. But of course, the first thing that had caught her bright blue eyes was the little nook that seemed to be surrounded by students.

Curiosity getting the best of her, she wandered over, hearing the chatter and catching on word in particular, 'prefect'. She vaguely knew what that meant, and stood a little far off, staring over the crowd at the two 'celebrities' of the Gryffindor house.

Kurumi looked up when she head a soft voice speak. Something about the look in the girl's eyes reminded her of herself when she had come to Hogwarts. It was a look that said that everything was new, everything was a little scary. "Hello, Ira," she nodded. She would have stood up to greet her properly, but Walnut was curled up into a ball on her lap. "I'm Kurumi...from Japan."

Kurumi then spotted another girl..lingering in the background a bit. Kurumi glanced over a Jai, who was still having his own conversations. The little forth year wasn't sure if the girl's gaze was casting judgement on them or not, but she didn't have to linger in the background like that.

Figuring that calling out across the room to get her attention probably wasn't the best thing to do, Kurumi simply waved at her.

Emily sat nex to the prefect what was his name Jeff, Jordan, Joe?. 'hi' she said ' My name is Emily'...............

Ira liked the prefect, Kurumi... She seemed nice. And her pet, Walnut, well he was good but Ira hated cats. Well she would try to live with it.
She absolutely loved to gorge herself on cookies. She took one of them and, "It is delicious! Did you make them? I hate all the cooking thing!"
Ira missed her mom just at times like these..."My mom makes probably the best cookies in the world!" She impulsively hugged Kurumi.

"Nice to meet you Emily. I'm Jai." he said with a charming smile,"So, before you start asking questions, I'd like to get to know a little about you. What's your favourite class here at Hogwarts?"

For Jai, this was a give and take. It's only about them the prefects but more so forming bridges with the students, essentially making friends. He was a people person that liked to meet new people and get to know them. It was like a composer making music, different notes and keys made a beautiful melody.

Nathan headed up stairs to see the Gryffindor common room for the time. Upon arrival his jaw dropped because he was awestruck at how amazing the place looked. He then noticed a boy he had met at the feast, Austin, yes thats him. Hey Austin, whats up?". He then noticed a prefects badge on a rather small girl, he expected someone older to be wearing that. He looked toward the girl and said, "You look a bit young to be a prefect, aren't they supposed to be 5th year and above, not that I don't think you will do a wonderful job. Wait, you were the girl with the cookies weren't you? I am Nathan by the way.".

Kurumi scooted over just a bit for the girl to sit down. "I did, baking is a hobby of mine." She smiled, but her body went just a little rigid when Ira hugged her. That was...unexpected. Kurumi patted the girl's back a bit. Perhaps her cookies were reminding her of the mother she mentioned? The girl had come all the way from India and was probably feeling a little homesick. "Ira, do you have any hobbies?"

Kurumi squeaked, feeling judge once again based on her age. Why did it always surprise people when they heard that a forth year had a prefect badge? The current female Ravenclaw had been given hers when she was a forth year, and there were many Gryffindors before her that had as well. She needed to not let that get to her. "Sometimes exceptions are made," she said neutrally. And then he mentioned cookies. "I am, and there are some here if you want more," she said gesturing towards the tin on the table. "Nice to meet you Nathan, I'm Kurumi."

"Yup, lots of them.. like dancing, bathroom singing, reading novels and taking long walks alone leisurely...and yeah I also love to watch TV, atleast I used to like it back in the muggle world, I don't know about anything here! " Ira also loved to argue but ofcourse it wasn't worth mentioning! She then felt as if she was the only one going on talking, so she was quiet for sometime, still relishing the cookies.
Ira hadn't liked her dinner down in the main hall... Should she mention it to Kurumi? Maybe not. Maybe only her tastebuds had a problem!
"What do we do here during free time? I mean, I'm already getting a lil bored..." Ira felt as if everything was done here with just a flick of a wand or by some charms!

Er, did he just hit a nerve with her, perhaps that was not the best thing to say. "Oh, well I am sure you must have been picked for a good reason and more than capable of handling the job.". He then heard her say she was the girlcwith the cookies and she took them out he could not help but grab one. And then he heard her reveal her name Kurumi. "It is good to meet you too Kurumi, that is a very interesting name, sounds a bit sporty. So, are you interested in quiddich, what could you tell me about quiddich around here.". The girl is a prefect, she must know something.

WAIT. WAIT. WAIT.

Were those.. cookies? BEAMSY. Brookie liked cookies. From afar, she could tell that they were red and gold and were kind of in a weird shape, but as she edged closer, she found that they were the shape of the Gryffindor crest. How COOL. She stared at them for a moment before noticing the female prefect waving at her.

Oooops.

Why didn't she notice that before? Heh. "Hi." she grinned, "Would you mind if i.." she stared at the cookies before shifting her eyes back to the girl. "Took a cookie?"

Woah. That was a lot of information.

August nodded quickly and wished he had a quill and parchment to right all of this down to be sure he would remember it all when classes started. Especially the detention part, not that he was afraid he would get it for being bad, he was just nervous he would do something wrong because he was a Muggle and didn't know better and be given detention. "Oh ok thanks Jai, right?"

Then he asked about Quidditch, and August grinned brightly. "Oh yeah I can't wait. I went down to the Pitch and signed up and everything. I haven't played yet but it looks like so much fun." He played football (soccer) at his muggle school and he had read that the rules and such weren't horribly different, except for the flying part.

Kurumi listened as Ira listed off her hobbies. "Oh, well you are in luck this term," she chirped. "The acting Minister of Magic declared that we would have dance lessons this term. Maybe you can help me out. I have two left feet when it comes to ballroom dancing." Traditional Japanese fan dancing was an entirely different story though. She couldn't help but notice that the little first year was eating an awful lot of cookies. "Too excited to eat at the feast?" she teased lightly. "Well...there are lots of things to do. I usually bake in the kitchens...but the house elves have closed it off this term."
Kurumi smiled. She hoped so too. More importantly, she was hoping that she didn't let those who trusted her with the position down. "Thank you, I am certainly giving it my all." She blinked a few times. Sporty, well, she played kendo and was on the Quidditch team, but she never really thought of herself as sporty. "Erm...well....it means walnut in Japanese..." she explained shyly. Interested in it? Well, she had enjoyed playing last term, and her interest was going. "I made the team last year as Seeker," she said, blushing quite a bit. "Try outs will be soon, and there is a sign up sheet over on the announcement board if you haven't already seen it. Carter will be giving out further information as to when tryouts will be taking place." She paused for a moment to think. "Really think things over if you are going to tryout. If you make it, the hours are long and there is a lot of responsibility. Sometimes, we weren't able to hold tryouts because players didn't communicate their schedules properly to our captain, so only a few of us were able to practice."

"Hello," Kurumi smiled back. Her violet eyes followed the girl's gaze until they landed on the plate of cookies. She tried not to giggle. She didn't blame students for being hungry after the feast. She had hardly touched her food either. "Of course, that is why they are here."

Kurumi picked up the plate and held it out for her to take her pick. "My name is Kurumi, by the way."

Fiona headed through the portrait and into the Gryffindor common room. She swept over the entire room with her eyes, taking in the comfy chairs and the crackling fireplace. After noticing her surrounds, Fiona spotted two older students in the corner of the room. "Hmm, must be the prefects," she thought while she watched several kids her age walk up to them. "Guess I ought to introduce myself." Fiona slowly made her way over to the older students.
"Hey there, I'm Fiona. It's cool to meet you," she said with a slight smile.

Arabella-Marie had just wandered into the common room and saw two of her friends with prefect badges and several students about them talking and said "Hey Jai and Kurumi congratulations on making prefect" Arabella-Marie was glad that Kurumi was a prefect but it would mean that she would have to be careful while playing her pranks on people

Jai saw a nervous expression flash across the boy's face and said with a good-natured smile,"Yeah. Don't worry about it. You'll get used to it and if you need any help, just ask me or Kurumi. We'll help you. It's just like being at school but just with magic."

"There you go. Now it's gonna be awesome." Jai said.
Jai turned and smiled at the another girl that joined them."Hello, Fiona. It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Jai." he replied his usual charming smile.

"Hey Bella. Thanks." he remarked to his friend. "So are you ready for Potions this year?" he asked her with a smirk. He met Bella in Potions class last year. She was a really cool friend and still is.

Arabella-Marie smiled at Jai and said "Yeah course i am ready for potions this year Jai i need to get better in potions" Potions was always one of Arabella-Marie's worst subjects

"Nice to meet ya, Jai," Fiona smiled, "Anything cool or bizarre you can tell me about Hogwarts? Or anyone I oughta watch out for??"

Ginny walked into the common room scared to death of what could happen her friend left her and went up to the dormatries. All her other friends are in different houses. She was scared and didn't know anyone in the common room she walked over to one of the prefects wantng to ask so many questions, but didn't have enough energy. She went up stairs to find a HER bed and then she could finally sleep from her long day.
