Transfiguration Practice Room

Just down the corridor from the Transfiguration classroom is another room. When you enter you can see a long table against the wall on the right hand side, and several plush seats scattered around the room. In the far corner is an enchanted metal ring embedded in the ground - this is for those older students to practice 'Incendio' SAFELY. On the table are boxes, currently empty, but filled with various bits and bobs when needed. A sign hanging above the table reads:

Professor Magnus will open the room for anyone that wishes to use it, and when she has free time. She will be present during any practising, if you want help, just ask her.

OOC: Please do as the description says - have your character practice any spell they need/want to learn. Don't go overboard with things that their age range might not be able to do, though, please. And any spell casting of a dangerous nature will just get your character in trouble, so no wilful setting fire to anything, etc. ;) If the Professor is needed, just put her name in the subject bar and I will be there...She will be constantly watching.

*thud thud thud clunk thud cluck*

Had Kurumi kept her wits about her, she would have remembered that she could have charmed her large trunk to float along side her from the Gryffindor common room, but the forth year lioness had been far too eager to get to try and transfigure an oven and bake cookies. She was going into cookie withdrawal.

She had tried going to the Room of Requirement every now and again, but it always seemed to be occupied. Sure, she probably could have done something like flash her prefect badge around and tell people that they needed to clear out for official prefecting business, but she just wasn't that sort of person.

"Juuuuuuuuuuuuust....a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle...fuuuuuuuuuuuurtheeeeeeeeee eeer," she panted as she continued to pull the trunk by one of its handles towards the enchanted circle on the floor in the room. Best to start it out there since she wasn't sure if she would be able to move it once it became an oven.

*THUD*

Kurumi collapsed on the trunk and used the sleeve of her Hogwarts uniform to remove some of the sweat from her brow. Now, to wait for the little lioness to show up so they could practice together. Kurumi figured it would be best if she started off small herself. Maybe transfigure some trash into cookie cutters or something.

Although she had the strength of a six year old, Ariadne would've liked to help Kurumi with her trunk, but the older girl had carried it herself downstairs, and in a hurry, for that matter. Practically running to keep up with her, the second year made it to the training room short of breath. She took a few minutes to calm down and then spoke. 'Interesting place! What do you want to practice?' Ari doubted that Kurumi was here for the sole purpose of teaching her how to use Covadium, given that she had brought that huge trunk with her.

Searching the pockets of her robe, Ariadne discovered her old Hogwarts Express ticket. Odd how many things she absent-mindedly carried with her. 'I guess this counts as garbage, right? Or do I need more stuff? And can I turn it into watever object or a particular one?' the little lioness had many questions already. Since the incantation and wand movement were pretty simple, from what Kurumi had said, it must mean that concentration is the hardest part, as in actually picturing the object you'd like the trash to turn into. Sadly, Ariadne was far from good at that.

Panting, Kurumi wiped her brow and took several slow deep breaths. She had emptied her trunk prior before carrying it down here, right? Nonchalantly, Kurumi flipped open the locks and lifted the lid just a bit. Yep. Totally empty. She really should have used a levitation charm. Glancing over her shoulder, Kurumi smiled weakly at Ari. "I...want to try and transfigure this trunk into an oven...so...I can bake." She giggled a bit. It sounded rather ridiculous when she said it out loud. "Professor Magnus said that Covadium should work in the same way." But it was going to take a lot of practice.

Kurumi leaned over when the younger lion pulled out a Hogwarts Express stub from her pockets. "That should work just fine," Kurumi nodded. "Just keep in mind that whatever it turns into should have relatively the same mass. That small stub could turn into a cup perhaps, but it is too small to turn into a table or something large." Equivalent exchange as Kurumi liked to think about it. The fourth year then rummaged through her pockets for something that she could use and a crumbled up piece of parchment that had once been Charms notes. "I am a little rusty on the spell myself, so starting with something small would be a good idea before I tried to tackle the oven."
Kurumi removed her wand from her robe's pocket and set the piece of parchment on one of the desks in the room. Just as she was about to demonstrate the spell for her fellow lion, Kurumi noticed that they were no longer alone.

"Hello," Kurumi said with a slight bow of her head.

After met professor Magnus, Raven just dropped in Transfiguration practice room. She saw Kurumi The prefect that she hit at corridor was doing something

"Hey Kurumi!" greeted Raven. She waved her hand to Kurumi. "What are you doing here?"

Kurumi spun around once more. She certainly hadn't been expecting there to be an audience for what she was hoping to accomplish. Still, the thudding coming from her trunk as she dragged it across the castle was certainly loud enough to draw attention

"Hello, Raven," she smiled with a slight bow. "Um, I was just going to try and teach Ari here a spell that we learned in Transfiguration a few terms back." Not that Kurumi was any expert on the subject - although Transfiguration was one of her better subjects to be sure. One could say that it came...naturally to her. Kurumi's eyes flicked towards her rather large trunk. No need to bring that up at the moment.

Wow, teaching someone a transfiguration! Maybe she was the expert she thought.

"So, what thing that you try to transfigure?" asked Raven.

Kurumi smiled. "Well, the spell transfigures rubbish into whatever the caster wishes it to be. Of course, the principles of transfiguration apply to this. No food for example and you can't transfigure something larger than the mass you already have." She showed Raven the parchment she was going to transfigure into...something. "I can't turn this into a chair or anything, but something small like a cookie cutter or soap dispenser would work."

She turned her head towards the blue circle on the floor where her trunk waited. "And...I am a bit rusty with the wandwork for what I want to do with my trunk, so some practicing before can't hurt."

"And then, what will you do with this trunk? You wanna transfigure it into something useful then?"

Kurumi looked at her trunk and giggled softly. "As crazy as it may sound, I am hoping to transfigure it into an oven so I can bake cookies," she said as she pointed to the blue circle on the ground. "That circle in an enchantment that won't let anything burn down and will keep the fire contained. Professor Magnus already told me that I should be able to transfigure my trunk into an oven, but it might take a few tries." She sighed and leaned back against the table. "Since the house elves have closed down the kitchens, I've been trying to figure out how to bake and the Room of Requirement is always busy with students." It would be rather selfish of her to use it as often as she did. Students were hardly around the Transfiguration practice room, so it seemed like a good idea.

Twirling her wand in her hand, Kurumi glanced at Raven."You want to try practicing the spell as well?"

"You need to try transfigure this into baking oven? Sounds nice." siad Raven to her. Raven never tried to transfigure something before, but her brother, Adler, was very great in transfiguration.

"Eng.. I've never tried transfiguration before, beside that, Professor Magnus haven't give the first lesson in this term, right?"

"Well, not really a baking oven," Kurumi said shaking her head. "I do not have the level of magic to make an electric oven work...something that the house elves are very keen at. I would just be trying to transfigure one of those old wood burning ovens, like people sometimes use with pizza. I am not too sure what sort of cookies I will be able to make...but it is worth a shot." Kurumi reached into her bag for her Transfiguration textbook and gave it a quick hug before turning to the proper page. Textbooks deserved love and appreciation, besides, it was a rule.

While Kurumi turned the pages a bit, Kurumi listened to Raven voice a bit of her concerns. "She hasn't, but it will be starting soon," she said with a nod. "If you would rather wait until after proper instruction, I wouldn't blame you. But...nothing you do in this room will bring you any harm. There are all sorts of enchantments placed on this room, and Professor Magnus is just right next door."

"Yeah, I'm really looking forward for transfiguration class. Actually I just back from professor Magnus office, I asked some question to her." said Raven to Kurumi. She saw her pocket watch.

"Oh, it's already dark. I must leave now. See ya Kurumi!"

With her free hand, Sierra gently pushed open the door to the practice classroom. This was where the professor had instructed her to bring the trunk, right? ...right. She had a little trouble getting in through the door. It was tall and wide and didn't want to turn the right direction to get through the door. Sierra glared at it a few times, and that seemed to do the trick. Either that or the fact that she twisted and turned her wand in just the right direction to make the trunk straighten itself up.

She guided it next to one of the walls and then used her wand to set it down on the floor. Hmm...that hadn't been as hard as it'd looked. She stuffed her wand back into its holster then headed out the room.

Harvey entered the practice room he had never been here before, there were first times for everything

Harvey jumped when he heard an outburst he looked round and saw it was Minnie, his Minnie.

"It's ok, dont worry. What's wrong?" He was concerned as to why the outburst "Is everything alright?" He asked putting a hand on her shoulder.

""Oh just frustrated. I can't get my hair the way I want it. I was going for purple with red streaks, but it keeps doing this."

Harvey smiles

"Well this color also looks nice on you." He smiles ear to ear "Just concentrate harder, think of nothing else except purple hair with streaks." Harvey hopes that this advice helps her accomplish what she wants.

"Umm Ok, let me try again." Minerva closed her eyes and breathed. Purple/Red Streaks, Purple/Red Streaks.. Ok "Ritaris" She opened her eyes and looked in the mirror. "Ahh who am I kidding. I stink at all this magic stuff." Minerva tossed her wand to the table.

Harvey watches the wand fly to the table and then roll off it again. He looks over to Minnie, he goes to her and takes her face in his hands. He kisses her forehead and then looks into her eyes.

"Hey, look at me. These things take time to do, just keep practicing and eventually you will manage it. Ok?" He asks, he wants to see her happy, but all this magic business is stressing her out.

"I know, I know. It just drives me crazy. I thought I finally found what I was good at. Ahhh.. Sorry, sorry." Minerva looked at Harvey and smiled. She picked up her wand. Tapped Harvey on the head. "Felintas" Harvey's hair went to should length. "Ritaris" Harvey's hair turned a nice pumpkin orange. Laughing Minerva looked at Harvey. "Well at least I can still drive you nuts."

Harvey watched his hair change with every tap she gave him. He smiled no matter what style of hair he ended up with.

"Well to be honest no matter what you do, you could never really drive me nuts." Harvey tells her smiling. "I kind of love every little thing you do, as it makes you who you are." He smiled but at the same time looking at his new hairstyle.
