Nate took a chance. He though of bright purple, tapped his head once with his spruce wand, and said "Ristaris!". He looked in the mirror, and saw himself: short hair, brushed across his forehead to the right, except instead of its usual brown, it was a majestic purple. He considered leaving it that way.

Jenny turned to look at Nathan laughing in the mirror. Glad to see him loving those bright green polka dots...the mop hair just made them look sillier even more. "Like my big fat afro?" Jenny smiled at Nathan. Just then she heard the professor's temper burst. Whoa.

Jenny was still blinking at the professor at this point, only to realize that she put up new incantations already. Oh, so now they're going to learn how to change hair color. "Hey, Nathan, what hair color do you want?" Jenny asked, but honestly...if she just had things her own way, she would turn his hair bright hot pink. Now wouldn't that be a lovely sight to see...

Kurumi sunk into her seat a little further as they moved onto hair coloring. Simple enough, right? Just a simple tap on the head and say the incantation and tada! Right?

Wrong.

Kurumi picked up her wand again and held the mirror in her other. She didn't really care what color her hair went, as long as it did so on command. Looking at her reflection, she thought something that would stand out from her overly pink costume and make up would seem the most appropriate for the situation. She remembered a table cloth that her grandmother had in her home. It was a table cloth that the family dog and peed on from time to time - a habit that Walnut had picked up it seemed - but her mother always managed to make it clean and smell fresh as a daisy. For some reason, the soft sea green color latched itself to Kurumi's memory, so she opted to go with that for now.

Closing her eyes, Kurumi whispered the incantation to herself a few times - making sure to place emphasis on the middle part as instructed. She tapped her head a few times, mostly to create a rhythm.

"Ristaris," she whispered. When she opened her eyes. Nothing had happened. Perhaps she had said the incantation more RIStaris or ristarIS instead of risTARis? She ought to try again...and again...and again.

Maybe sea green wasn't a good color? She should think of something else.

Kurumi searched her memory for something, anything else that might pop into her head when her mother working in the kitchen came to mind. She always wore a canary yellow apron while she cut vegetables and prepared her delicious cherry blossom tea. That color resonated more strongly with the fourth year, and she smiled as she tapped her head once again. This time for sure!

"Ristaris!"

...

Nothing.

Kurumi's face had panic written all over it. Why couldn't she perform the spells that always seemed to come so smoothly to her?

Minerva looked at Harvey knowing all along he was worried about her comment on not knowing if she should have come. "Yes I am glad I am here. I like the blue Harvs you should keep it!" She looked in her again. "Fel-in-tas" her hair went into a curly shoulder length style." She smiled big. "Harvs what do you think. Curly and Purple. I'm keeping it!"

"Good! I will keep it since YOU like it. Yeah it suits you, I too think you should keep it. "

"Fel-in-tas!" He looked into the mirror, nope curly was not his style "Intaris! Fel-in-tas!" Undo all styles and back to blue and straight hair, his new style for now.

"It's a backpack." Charner stated proudly, puffing out her chest and patting the padding. "I was gonna use some textbooks for stuffing, but I didn't think the Professor would be very happy with me. So I stuffed my backpacks with the textbooks and then my outfit with the backpack." Yes, yes she was a very proud being when one of her plans worked, line across her face or not.

Oh wait, what was this? "You're afraid of clowns?" Charner gave it a momentary thought, drumming her fingers on her covered backpack. "I suppose it makes sense. Childhood terrors or some such. Well, we can paint you like a clown that's not like a clown." There was extreme logic there. Her hand waved about her own face. "I was working on painting my face completely black and then I was gonna put stars on it. So, it's clown-ish but not really clown-ie."

Nod nod. "I could...paint your face a field or some such. And you could be clown-ish but not clown-ie." Her hands reached for the paints and then nearly knocked all of it off the table at the Professor's sudden outburst.

O.O! Goodness she had a voice!

Sheephishly, Charner glanced back at her partner. "Perhaps we should do the spells and then paint. Or one paints and one does the spells?"[/b] They needed to be efficient in order to not get eaten O.O.

mmmm.... Minnie asked a very interesting question, he waited to know the professor's answer. He now wanted to know the answer to this question.

After becoming more comfortable with the last spell Justin turned his attention to the new task at hand. Repeating what the professor did he Took his wand and as he tapped his head he said , " Ristaris ! " Justin looked in his mirror once again to be completely mortified. " Pink ! Why pink?! How do you control the color, Professor ? " , asked Justin.

Work in pairs?! Errr, ...how about no? Sierra was already mentally complaining about the fact that she was dressed like a clown. Working with someone, and having them look] at her and help cast spells to change this idiotic hairdo, would only make things worse. More annoying, too.

Her wand was already in her hand, and so she just lifted it up, tapped it once on top of her head, and said, "Ris-TAR-is!" She pictured a nice, Slytherin GREEN color. If she was going to sport this idiotic hairdo, it was at least going to be a sensible color. GREEN should do the trick, she thought. Yup.

She picked up the mirror and checked out her new hairdo. Ehh. It looked slightly better in a beautiful shade of GREEN, but she still thought it was a ridiculous hairdo for someone to even want to have. With a tap, tap on top of her head and an "Intaris!", she changed her hair color back to the normal shade of brown it'd always been.

Gideon gave into the quiet chuckles as she punched him lightly in the shoulder. "Will do, m'lady," he assured her watching Selina react to her own new 'do. He caught her words as she looked away and wondering if she felt he might be offended by her choice. In response, he took his own wand and tapped his head once as he said the correct incantation for the next part of the lesson as described by Professor Magnus.

"Ris-TAR-is..." he cast focusing on Selina's hair as he worked the spell. Soon enough his magically straightened hair was now the color of his companion's making them twins. Or rather they would be if they were both straight or curly not one of each like they were now and normally were anyway. "What do you think?" he questioned asking her opinion.

As Tori sat admiring her reflection in the mirror, she had a brilliant idea. An idea that surely her professors AND perhaps, even her enemies, would appreciate.

"Professor," Tori called out, waving her hand in the air, "Professor, does this color-changing spell work on other objects, like non-humans, too? Say, could it change the color of paint, perhaps?"

Harvey is very interested to know the answer for one question that came into his mind.

"Professor, Apart from hair and Eye color, what else can you change the color of with this 'Ris-TAR-is' spell?

"Aww Justin I like it pink.." Minerva giggled at her friends pink hair.

" Ha ha very funny , Minnie. Well, why don't you change yours already. Let's see what you got. " Said Justin; glad to see a friend.

"Ok, are you ready?"Minnie raised her wand. "Ristaris" Minnie's purple hair turned bright green. "Is that good or is this better" Tapping her wand again to her head "Ristaris" Now her hair changed to sky blue. Minnie laughed.

" Personally, I like the blue. " Snickered Justin.

"I kind of have to disagree with you, I think my Minnie looks better in purple." He said winking at Minnie

"Ok Justin come here let me help you with that pink." Minerva raised her wand. "Intaris" tapping Justin twice on the head his hair went back to it's normal color.

" Well, to each his own I suppose. The name's Justin, Justin Wellheart. Pleased to meet you. " said Justin as he extended his hand.

"Fel-in-tas" Valeria said unsurely but clearly. She watched as a light shot out of her wand and hit her hair. She fingered her hair and felt that it has now become straight instead of her usual wavy hair. She now also has a fringe which laid just above her eyes, and some hair on the sides of her face reached up to her chin, while the rest had turned very short. Liking the style, Valeria decided to keep it. Then she also tried the new spell the proffesor thought them.

Grabbing her wand again, Valeria said "Ristaris" and found that her hair had turned reddish purple! Vaeria gaped as she stared at her new hair colour. What would her mother say if she see this??

Selina chuckled at the formal title that he had dubbed her with. She did a small curtsy in her seat and continued the jest, "That is all I can hope for Sir Gideon Gert of the House of Godric Gryffindor." Merlin, his name had a lot of alliterations in it.

He suddenly grew quiet as he started to concentrate on what she percieved that he was looking at her hair. Then he said the spell and his hair started to change colors. It was amazing but she stayed quiet and watched. Once it was done she smiled at him, "Hey that color looks familiar... Personally I'm a fan of your natural, but red is just a dashing color in general."

Then she herself, lifted her wand to her head and said, "Ristaris." Suddenly her hair started to change colors and she shut her eyes afraid of how she would look stripped of her red hair. "Well... does it look awful?"

"Oh where are my manners. Justin this is Harvey, Harvey this is Justin."

Harvey extended his hand to meet Justin's

"Yes I guess so. I'm Harvey, Harvey Watson. Pleased to meet you too. Aah you are in the same house as my Minnie" Harvey said looking at the colors of Justin's uniform

"I sometimes wish that I was in Hufflepuff, so that I could spend every minute of every day with Minnie." He said looking at her "But the hat put me in Ravenclaw, aah well no biggie, we still get to see each in class and between classes. Isn't that right Minnie?" He asked her.

" Thanks , Minnie. I'll have to remember that one. " said Justin.
Justin took Harvey's hand and gave it a firm shake.
" Yeah, she's Pretty cool. We've only spoken a few times. I've got my eye on one as well, but I don't think she likes me that much though.I'm not really good around girls. That is accept for Minnie of course. " Said Justin as he poked her with his elbow and smiled.
