She blushed a bit when her comment to the first year about metamorphs was addressed as well. While the first year might not have picked up on anything she was saying, she was sure that now Professor Magnus knew what she was talking about. Perhaps the woman had even noticed her...slight bending of the spell? But her attention was not back on the Hufflepuff girl. "I'm in Gryffindor, but I do know a few of your housemates that I can introduce you to," she nodded. "My name is Kurumi by the way." And then an explosion happened. BOOOOOOOM! Kurumi hung her head. She HAD warned everyone that they shouldn't be changing their hair color yet. Oh well, at least Professor Magnus hadn't deducted points from it seeing as she thought she had spotted a few Gryffindors doing so. Any questions about the previous spell? Nooooooot really...at least not any that Kurumi wanted to ask out loud. She would have to go and speak with Professor Mangus after class. |
Catching up >.< Kennedy furiously wrote every piece of information on his parchment. He didn't want to be left behind in knowledge. Everything was going great, he was understanding what the professor was saying until the clown dress-up part. His jaw had dropped open followed by his eyes going wide as melons. After giving in to the idea of being a clown, Kennedy had dressed up and done his own art work on his face. He had an odd looking yellow star on his right eye and a big blob of blue on the other. His cheeks had huge red circles and a red nose to match. The only thing he really disliked of this was that his glasses were going to be stained with the paint on his face. Oh well, as long as it got him good marks. He nodded his head as thanks at the professor when he got the mirror. Kennedy didn't understand why he had to concentrate on clown hair. He's seen that several times, shouldn't his mind have that on check already? So, before tapping his head, Kennedy said, “Felintas.” He felt nothing, but after checking his hair on the mirror his eyes grew wide again. Seriously, if he kept doing that his eyeballs were definitely going to pop out. A MOHAWK!:x3: He didn't want a Mohawk. He wanted clown hair. Okay, now he understood why concentration was important. Great going Escalante, learn it the hard way. He resumed the process again, this time closing his eyes shut to try to concentrate to the max. “Felintas.” He slowly opened one eye to see his reflection on the mirror and grinned. He had puffy CLOWN hair. |
Presley carefully wrote down the spells, and what they were supposed to do, but didn't attempt either. The professor had just exploded. Freaked out on everyone. Besides, Presley's stupid, danged wand arm was broken. It was enough to make her want to swear. She was just so frustrated with it, it was ridiculous. |

Next spell! ;) Any questions I miss now will be answered tomorrow. Quote:
"It's slightly more complicated than changing your hair, I'm afraid," she said, standing next to the Slytherin who had spoken. "I don't want any of you to try and get it wrong, thus damaging your eyes. Healer Brookes might not be happy with me. Or your parents for that matter." Quote:
"They fade, certainly the colour changing one does. But you need to use the counter-spell to stop them completely - Intaris. It's the same for both, so hopefully you'll all remember it." Isabelle gave the girl a nod and smile. "And as this only changes hair...and sometimes eyes....it's not really enough for a criminal to become significantly different. Unfortunately, there are other spells they could use for that if they really wanted to." Not that she was going to say today. Just in case she had potential criminals in the room. Heh. Quote:
"Generally people use it to change the whole head of hair, it is easier that way. However, with everything Transfiguration related, concentration and intent is key. So if you wished to just change part of your hair, it would require more effort, but could be done, yes." Quote:
But now was the time to get on with this lesson. Unfolding her arms, Issy walked back to the front of class and changed the words on the board. Quote:
Holding her wand to the top of her head again, Issy tapped once and said the spell clearly so they could hear. "Ris-TAR-is!" Her hair changed from it's usual dark brown to a brightish blonde. Similar to the way she had changed it a couple of terms before for the Prefect's tea party. "You have to add extra emphasis on the middle portion of the word for it to work properly. Smiling, she re-holstered her wand and leant against her desk. "I don't expect you to all turn it red like I did before. I was having fun with that - clown hair can be any colour you like. Whatever you feel fits with your make up and costume. And you CAN do it in pairs if you so wish. Getting a colour wrong is nothing that can't be fixed, unlike length and style change, which is why I wanted you to do that to yourselves." Isabelle fiddled with her newly blonde hair, before flopping her hands into her lap. "Please begin, and if you need any help at all, just put your hand in the air and call me over." OOC: I'll be off to bed soon, so probably won't post again tonight. Isabelle is always there though - but PLEASE listen when a Prefect asks you to do something. :P Any questions, or help required, will be dealt with tomorrow. Have fun choosing your colours! |

Harvey was happy to see that Minnie was having fun. "Felintas!" Harvey said he felt his hair it was now curly "Intaris!" His hair was back to the normal upon feeling it. :claw: Quote:
Oooo changing his hair color. He looked at Minnie and knew instantly what color he wanted to change it to. "Ris-tar-is!" He looked in the mirror, nothing it was his same old hair. He wondered why it hadnt changed, then he remembered the professor said to have particular emphasis on the middle section of the incantation. So he tried again. "Ris-TAR-is!" He looked into the mirror and voila, he had purple hair, remembering that Minnie liked her purple hair. "Hey Minnie!" He called to Minerva "How do I look?" He asked pointing to his hair smiling. :claw: |

William remembered to say "Ristaris", tapped his wand twice on his head and his blonde hair is back but he concentrated to make sure his blonde hair is in a pony tail behind his back. |
Yeah, Ashley wasn't too sure he wanted to do this spell. The professor had said that the eye colour changing was harder, though, right? So it wasn't likely that anyone would be doing it, right? He looked around the room briefly, but he really wouldn't be able to tell, so he gave up on that train of thought. Stalling for time, he took down notes on the second spell and all that had been said about it, going back to just sitting quietly and watching his classmates, still reluctant to make an attempt at this. |

Amethyst smiled softly and wondered how the style would look purple and green. She giggled and held up her wand, concentrating on the colors. Tapping her head gently once, she said softly, "Ristaris!" She smiled, blushing deeply as she watched her hair turn into the matching colors. |
SPOILER!!: Professor "Oh my," Pixxi whispered and hastily moved her wand up to the top of her head and tapped it twice. "Intaris," she said while looking horrified at the Professor who had just yelled at her students. Fortunately, it wasn't only Pixxi who had managed to change her hair color aswell. Her hair turned back to the same, curly, bright red color it had previously been, and she shrugged half heartedly, thinking about the cool new pink hair she had just a minute ago. No matter how proud she were of actually managing to get the spell right on the first try, she sighed and put her wand up to the top of her head again. She had already managed to get the spell right the first time, so she knew that she would be able to do so again. This time, it wasn't that exciting to try out the spell. She imagined herself with a really short pixie hairstyle, squinting her eyes and said the incantation. Her hair immediately changed into a neat, short hairstyle that actually fitted her face structure very good. SPOILER!!: Professor Listening intently to Professor Magnus, determined not to make any blunders as she had done earlier, Pixxi stared as the Professor changed her color to a nice, blonde variant. When told to try it out herself, Pixxi did as she previously had done, closing her eyes and muttered the spell under her breath while picturing how the color of her hair should look like. She decided on a blue variant this time. She concentrated for a few minutes until she felt the fizzling sensation from the tip of her wand. She prepared herself, put the wandtip at the top of her short, red haired head and said the incantation loud and clear. "Ris-TA-ris," she cried out with feelings. On the very split second the incantation had been said, she pictured Professor Magnus's blonde hair. Pixxi knew that the spell hadn't worked exactly as she wanted, and true enough, when she looked in the mirror, her hair was more of a silver shade, not blue as she intended. Again, Pixxi raised her hand for the Professor to see, "I'm sorry I changed my hair color too soon Professor Magnus. I just love to change my hair," she said with enthusiasm and a sparkle in her eyes. "I managed to make it shorter and, well, silver." She stared at her reflection and had to admit that she looked a bit foolish with the face paint and the large clown costume. "I intended it to be blue, but I think I said the incantation wrong, and I also lost some concentration at the end there." |
catching up. catching up ! Quote:
So now, back to their task. After that changing of hair style and length which caused her long and wavy hair to turn into bushy and neck-short, time for the coloring session. Though before she had started the task, she grabbed her quill and scribbled the notes on the board on her notebook. She might need a list of those some other day. And then, Beatrice pulled her wand from her pocket and breathed first before muttering, "Ris-TAR-is." Tapping the tip of her wand once on the top of her head. What she did was a mistake. She didn't concentrate on what color she wanted her hair to be. That's why when she looked in the mirror her head looks like a rainbow puddle now. The ends were in either red and gold. Her bangs had a blending of green and silver. The right side was blue and bronze and the left side is black and yellow. "Okay. Not a rainbow. But Hogwarts itself." she said, half irritated-half amused at herself. She was enjoying how the colors blended and can't seem to think of any explanation why she had such. |

*catches up* Can't wait on pardner anymore... :( Tired of waiting for the mirror, Tori hurriedly moved on with the other two spells the professor had demonstrated. This WAS Transfiguration class, after all, not makeup class. "Felinitas!" Tori commanded loudly, tapping her wand to her head so that her normally long, straight red locks suddenly curled and shrank into her head. She felt around her new 'fro and grinned. Heh. This probably looked hilarious. What was the next spell, then? The color-changing one? "RISTARIS!" she repeated loudly, tapping her head one more time. Tori focused on giving herself a lovely purple 'do, and was eager to see if it had worked. "Lemme seee the mirrrrrrror," she |
Violet looked at her hair in the mirror--the shape was okay, but she needed to return the colour back to normal before trying to change it intentionally. She decided it was better to start all over again. Hoping with all her might that her hair really would return to normal, she closed her eyes and pictured herself as she looked in the mirror every morning--straight, chin-length, dark-brown hair and scowling, sleepy face and all--and tapped herself twice on the head with her wand while saying "In-tar-is" She kept her eyes closed for a few minutes more, then slowly opened one eye and peered in the mirror. Thank Merlin! Her hair was back the way it was! With a sigh of relief, she started over again; ;third time's the charm, after all--wasn't that what they said? At least now she had seen enough clown hair to have a better idea of what she was going for, and William's explanations had helped a lot, too. She closed her eyes again, concentrated on frizzy curls as hard as she could, tapped herself once on the head, and said very clearly, "Felintas!" Then she opened her eyes again. It had worked! Her hair was still the same dark brown colour, but now it was frizzed out all over her head like it had been before. |
hmm, maybe I'll just continue going with the makeup pic... Having gotten increasingly nervous as she'd watched the students around her changing their hair colors before they'd learned the spell Professor Magnus had said would do so, Stella had found herself playing with the ends of her newly shorter and straight hair as she'd waited for the next steps. She had her makeup done, the weird costume on, and just needed odd colored hair to finish things off, it seemed. At least, maybe that would help her feel even less like herself. Either way, and even before the professor had reprimanded the whole classroom, threatening points loss if they'd continued disobeying, she wasn't about to move ahead. Even though she had started thinking about what colors would go with her makeup and outfit. Working by herself seemed almost to be an advatage, though, as she didn't have to wait once they were given the go-ahead to try the next spell out. Noting the incantation down in her notes underneath the other spell, she repeated it in her head several times before adding the wand movement in. One tap to the head, Ristaris..., she continued repeating, before she felt confident enough to actually try the spell out. Tapping her head once with her wand again, she concentrated on the color she'd come up with before saying, "Ristaris!" Glancing in the mirror, she eyed the teal-blue he rhair had turned before shaking her head. That didn't quite look right. "Intaris!" Two taps and she was back to dark brown. What color?..., she kept thinking, before deciding on her second try. Okay. Here goes. Tapping her head again, she repeated, "Ristaris!" Glancing in the mirror again, she saw her hair had now turned a pale lavender, and she couldn't help but giggle. Worked as good as any, and if it hadn't still been her dark eyes looking out of the facepaint, she definitely wouldn't have thought it was her. |
Jesifur concentrated hard and thought bright baby blue. She tapped the top of her head and said, "ResTARis," making sure to emphasize the middle. Her hair changed to sky blue. Now short and spiky and sky blue she felt her look was complete. Looking in the mirror she nodded and smiled. |
Violet now set out to change the colour of her hair, now that it was back to its original colour. But what colour to change it to? She decided upon green, because that was a Slytherin colour. But a really revolting green was called for, if the rest of the clown get-up was anything to go by. She remembered an awful lime-green-and orange striped dress that she had seen on a Muggle woman at King's Cross when she was leaving for school, and pictured that lime-green as hard as she could in her mind, while she tapped the top of her head once with her wand and said, "Ris-TAR-is!" She looked in the mirror--her hair was all frizzy and bright green! She had done it, first try this time! And suddenly, again, she felt an uncontrollable urge to laugh and put both hands to her mouth to muffle the sound. Even when she looked away from the mirror, it was like she just couldn't keep a serious face anymore, knowing what she looked like. |
Salander! Plus catching up! Quote:
The boy motioned to the seat next to him. Lana smiled and said, "Thanks! She resisted to blush. I wonder why my brother said not to talk to the older years? They don't seem viscious like he said... She said down and changed her hair length. She shortened it and turned it a bit frizzy. She ran her fingers through her hair. Gross. "My name? Oh, it's Melania, but you can call me Lana," she smiled. "And you're Salander.. right?" She only knew because he was the Head Boy. And because Slytherin recently had a house meeting that he had spoke of. Mmm, all that food. She was already reminiscing. She quickly went back to the thought of the lesson. Oh, I can't wait do his clown makeup. Quote:

Major catching up..... Mina's face was no done and she really couldn't fight it now. She would have to don the costume, even though she really didn't want to. It was just a costume, but she didn't really want to look like a complete fool. Looking like a fool in front of her peers wasn't high on her list of things this year, but at least she wouldn't be the only one looking foolishly. Everyone else was going to have to wear similar costumes too. Sighing, she cleaned up the face paints that she used and set it aside. Clean as you go and that will leave you less of a mess later. Words to live by, at least she thought so. Grabbing the costume, she threw it on, taking care not to mess up her painted face. She did try her best to not like a fool and have at least a pretty simple face painting on her. Looking down at herself, she frowned. It just wasn't her colour at all, but it was part of the lesson and she shouldn't be questioning so much. Just do as you're asked and make it through the year, she had to keep telling herself. The costume hung on her body slightly and it was a bit too big for her, but she would just have to make it work out. Now it was time for the first spell. It shouldn't simple enough and she did feel she was comfortable with it. It wasn't like she wouldn't be able to change her hair back. It was only temporary, right? Quote:
Glancing down at her notes, she picked up her wand. It was time to get down to business. She had an idea what she wanted her hair to look like and she was about to give it a go, when she heard Professor Magnus raising her voice. Taken a little slightly, she blinked and glanced around. She hadn't been really paying attention to what everyone was doing around her and did shake her head when she saw some of the underclass-men attempting to move on without even being told what they needed to do. Seriously, was she like that when she was that young? Looking back down at her notes again, she refocused. She was behind and needed to get to changing her hair now. Setting up the mirror, she looked at herself and concentrated on something a bit shorter in length than her current hairstyle and in the fashion of a bob. That was a good start, she thought as she envisioned it in her head before reaching for her wand. Reciting the incantation silently in her head, she moved her wand toward her head. Just a simple tap was all that was needed. Having the final result clearing pictured in her head, she concentrated on it and tapped her head once. "Fel-in-tas". Slowly, her hair shortened from its long length and straightened up into what was move like a pixie cut. Shaking her head slightly to see how it felt, she moved her head around to get a better view in the mirror and smiled. It didn't look all that terrible, if she said so herself; but it wasn't right for what they needed. It was a cute look and maybe she would have to revisit it one day. Reaching for her wand again, she envisioned her hair as it was. Concentration on the length and texture of it, she mouthed the incantation for the counter-spell. Silently she continued to recite the words in her head until she clearly could see just how her hair once was. Looking right into the mirror again, she tapped her head twice and cast the counter-spell. "Int-ar-is". With a quick blink, her hair was back to its original length and had the same bounce and curly it had just moments ago. It felt like it did before, which was always a good sign. But now it was time to really do what she needed. It couldn't be too short or long and it had to look like something a clown might have. She wasn't about to go the route of the big and poofy. She liked curls but that was just too much for her! Thinking it through, she decided on something not all that extreme. Picturing it in her mind, she reached for her wand and tapped her head again. "Fel-in-tas". Shaking her head, she nodded in agreement. It was pretty much what she wanted. It was just short of a complete bob in style and she had small pigtails as well. Quote:

Jotting down even more notes, she read then over and over. It was time to get to the fun part. A few different colours were already running through her head. Did she want to go with just one solid colour or should she venture out and do maybe two? It was really up to her, wasn't it? Thinking up possible ideas, she picked up her wand again. Maybe pink would be fun or a light blue. She was supposed to look like a clown and clowns had silly coloured hair. Twirling her wand slightly as she thought of which colour she would start with, she recited the incantations in her head over and over. Once she was pretty sure that she had it down, she tapped her head and cast the spell. "Ris-TAR-is". It wasn't really the pink she had wanted or even the light blue. It was more of a lilac colour? It didn't look all that bad though, she could live with it for now at least. |
Sarah tilted her head. Ah, the fun part. What hair color had she always wanted? Ah, yes. A nice, pretty, violent GREEN! She giggled, how fitting. Slytherin colors. "Ris-TAR-is!" she made sure to add the emphasis on TAR. Although, it sounded sort of funny. The green didn't really seem to go with much of what she was wearing, but she decided she liked it. Yes, it brought out the subtle green tints in her eyes. Not bad, not bad at all. She glanced around at everyone else. People watching. Lame, but informative. |

[QUOTE=sweetpinkpixie;10650976]But her attention was not back on the Hufflepuff girl. "I'm in Gryffindor, but I do know a few of your housemates that I can introduce you to," she nodded. "My name is Kurumi by the way." Minerva blushed.. She wished a spell could hide how embarrassed she was. "I am so so sorry. Oh of course that would be my luck to meet someone very nice and then say they are in the wrong house. Will you forgive me?" Not sure if she said her name at all she added "My name is Minerva by the way." Quote:

Harvey looked into his mirror. "Yeah I think you are right." Harvey closed his eyes concentrating "Ris-TAR-is!" He opened his eyes and looked at his hair it had now turned a nice shade of blue. He looked at Minnie "Hey you did it! Nice! Now you wont wonder about how to get purple hair, you now know the incantation. you wont have to wait until it accidentally happens." He said smiling. "I'm glad!! " Harvey exclaimed, he really WAS glad about this. Now she may be happier here knowing that she is ABLE to do magic. "So you wont doubt about coming here no more? As by the look of things you were MEANT to come here." Harvey asked BEFORE he could stop himself, he couldnt believe he had let this out, he really needed to start controlling himself BEFORE he hurt someone. Harvey went back to looking at his hair in the mirror. :claw: |

Hmmm, what to go for? Better be...GREEN! Green and Silver of course, Eris thought happily taking a step back and tapping her hair, eyes shut in concentration imagining the swirl of colors. "Ristaris." she tapped her head happily. Glancing in the mirror she looked for the change...only to see a blend of silver and grey that made a color that didn't look to appealing. "Intaris" she sighed, tapping her head twice. The color changed back. Come on wand...let change my hair! "Ristaris!" Glancign in the mirror, it did change even if just slightly, from black to a raven purplish-black. Close enough. Let's face it, she wasn't meant to be a beauty stylist. http://i457.photobucket.com/albums/q...ourtjester.jpg |
