Mia looked at the picture the Professor had put up and she immediately raised her hand. "That looks to me like the runes Wunjo and Nauthiz. The meaning of Wunjo is joy, pleasure, glory and spritual reward but it has the possibility of going over the top. Whereas Nauthiz represents determination, self reliance, resistance that leads to strength and a time to exercise patience. So combining the two would allow a better balance and creating calmer emtions within ones self."
Or something like that.

Tiffany looked at the picture that the professor had drawn on the board. She opened her textbook to find some similar runes. At first she thought that it would be Raidho and Nauthiz but later on when she found out more details of the runes, she thought it would be Wunjo and Nauthiz.
So she raised her hand," Professor, I guess it would be Nauthiz and Wunjo. Nauthiz represents all success and achievement and it was used to achieve goals. Wunjo represents 'happily ever after'. It was used to bring happiness. Also it can be useful for gaining wisdom." It would be the answer, she guessed.

Uh-oh. DANGER! Beatrice couldn't understand their Professor again. Maybe because he said quite a long sentence. And her mind just doesn't seem to absorb his words. Merlin, somebody help her with this problem. Yes, officially it was a problem to her. If it would go on like this, she might fail Ancient Runes!
With a sigh, she stared at the illustration on the board. Godric, were they to identify that Rune? Now she's got two problems. She was also not that enthusiastic about runes.. Beatrice heaved another sigh as she chose to just listen to her classmates giving out their answers as she started jotting down some notes.

She sighed when she couldn't figure out what was there. "Well, Raidho is definitely there," she said, raising her hand. What else, though? Again, she tilted her head, and when it went toward the left, she clearly saw... "...and Isa, too. Or maybe it's Gebo..." Or maybe... "...or Nauthiz?" Merlin, that slanted part going across the middle could really be any of the ones she'd just named.
"Erm, ...I'll just go with Isa," she finally decided. Anyway... "So Raidho means traveling, either from place to place or making a lifestyle change. Isa means challenges and frustrations or a time to stay still and wait for clarifications," she explained. "So maybe the two together mean to slow down for a while, rethink all your possibilities, and then continue moving forward."

'I think it's a combination of Nauthiz and Wunjo runes...Nauthiz indicates a time to retrain, re-analyse and plan efficiently what to do..It shows wanting..or a lack of something..Inverted meaning is to resist temptation..Wunjo is more of a positive rune..It can be related to comfort, pleasure and joy of living..harmony and prosperity..Inverted meaning is strife between those who are close to each other',Namitha answered..

"Is it Raidho and Gebo?" he questioned unsure of his answer however going by the images in his book and notes that seemed like the closest match. "That would be perhaps a combination of justice and generousity, keeping a balance between the two."

Kurumi peered a little closer to the bind rune drawn on the blackboard and then flipped through her book to the page showing all the Elder Futhark and took several moments comparing what she saw on the board with what she saw in the book. Guessing was going to be...difficult since there was just no telling how exactly these two runes had been combined - she didn't know a thing about the process, so for all she knew Ingwaz had been thrown on top of Nautiz.
"Professor, is it a bind rune composed from Raido and Isa?" she asked with her hand in the air. "Assuming it is, Raido is the rune representing a journey, arrival, departure or simply events concerning travel or vehicles... which is sort of the opposite of Isa which is the rune of ice, cold, freezing and lack of change... but I believe that Isa can also mean a bridge across danger. So, this could be a bind rune for a traveler about to embark on a dangerous journey, or perhaps one for someone who is seeking help in the transitions in their life."

Wunjo purpose...um.. gives the power to give Joy, pleasure, harmony and prosperity?" he answered as best he could from his textbook

Raising her hand, she answered, "It looks like a Raidho rune combined with a Algiz, which would maybe be for keeping safe while you travel? But I can see other runes in there as well, depending on how I look at them--I mean, at first I was thinking it was a Naudhiz with a Wunjo...and I guess you could find Isa in almost any combination--how do you know which runes were intended and which are just there because of the way the other runes are shaped? Do runes you didn't intend affect a bine rune's magic, too?"

Okay. Should she try talking now? With a hesitant look on her face, she raised her hand. "Uhm..maybe because it protects you? Or maybe makes your magical abilities stronger?" Half answer. Aw, his answer wasnt right. Oh well. Kennedy listened to the other possibilities that the bind rune could have been. When the professor asked the question he thought for a moment and then raised his hand. "Well, Algiz means protection and Raido means safe journey either spiritual or physical," he said. "So maybe you want protection in a journey you are or will be making?" He wasn't sure. It only depended on the professor.

Ashley took down notes, and then began looking up meanings again, since he hadn't memorized them all... or any, really. Well, no, he did know a couple, but he had no idea what 'raidho' was, even though he'd just looked at it a moment ago. Once he had some kind of idea, he raised his hand to give it a guess. "Is it because you want protection during travel to powerful places?" Well... he'd read something about powerful places in there, though he wasn't really sure where that would be. It also said something about dead people, and he wasn't too sure he should be asking his professor if he was visiting the dead. ...Maybe he was just reading the wrong thing.

Well,, two runes now, atleast I got one but I am gonna have to work a bit harder.
NAthan heard the next question asked of what the two runes together represent. He looked in his textbook and cames up with an answerand raised his hand. "Well raido represents joy and wunjo represents a ride or journey. I think when you put those together would help keep you safe and happy when you go away on on some trip or holiday".

Alyssa thought for awhile and then raised her hand,"Professor, the rune Algiz is of course the rune for protection and shelter. In order to move forward this rune helps to contain emotion and overcome pain and strife.
Raido is a rune for personal development and transformation as well as an indicative of journeys and travel that one is about to embark on. The journey may be physical or spiritual in nature but either way it will bring about some positive developments.
The reason why you bound these runes together could be that you were about to embark on a journey that was going to be dangerous and you needed to protection both physically as well as emotionally to help you overcome what you needed to do."
Alyssa thought back to the last lesson where the Professor had said that he had been on a journey but he didn't say where. All she knew that he came back very tanned. 'Could that be why he's wearing that rune? He was going on a dangerous journey, to complete a task that he had never done before which was dangerous and he needed protection?'Alyssa thought to herself. She didn't dare say her thoughts out loud just in cast the Professor ended up thinking that she was trying to pry into his personal affairs.

Kourtney silently read the meanings of the two runes, Raido and Algiz before finally raising her hand. "Professor, Algiz does afford the wearer protection, and Raido deals with a journey or events surrounding a journey. As travel or a journey is not always easy and short, the bindrune may play a part in a successful and safe quest. Raido can also deal with communication and messages, and this, combined with Algiz, may provide the wearer with a sense of clarity while speaking or writing."
She paused, glancing down briefly. "As for why you would wear it? I would think it's because you need to be exceptionally aware of your surroundings in order to protect yourself while planning a trip and during the actual journey itself."
Algiz also represents success through endeavour in a search, quest, or other enterprise

When it was explained that the bind rune on the board was Raido and Algiz combined, Kurumi sort of cocked her head to the side trying to figure out exactly HOW it was combined. This was just going to be one of those topics that she wouldn't wrap her head around...at least not right away.
Glancing down at her textbook, however, the confused look on her face vanished into a smile. Hey, look at that. Even though she hadn't guessed the two runes properly, her potential meaning appeared to be spot on for the most part. "Professor," she said, raising her hand again and remembering the man's tan from the previous lesson. "I still stand by the possible meaning I gave when I thought Raido was binded with Isa. Algiz, being the rune of protection, implies protection on a journey. A safe travels bind rune. However, I don't think that this implies just physical travel but perhaps one's journey through life. " She paused for a moment to gather her thoughts. "I suppose that since this particular rune has been ascribed to Thor, that this is a very powerful bind rune."
She looked at Professor Viking and thought for a moment. Why would HE wear it? "Perhaps, professor, one reason you wear it is because your travels from the Ministry all the way to Hogwarts can be difficult at times." The man didn't hold an office at the school, so he was coming and going everyday and is position quite literally took him "overseas" as it were - another quality brought about by Raido.

Algiz? How was the second rune Algiz?! Sierra tilted her head this way and that. She even narrowed her eyes to try and focus on the lines and paths a little harder. No matter what she tried, though, she never could find the top part to the rune. Oh, well. She'd just take his word for it. This was Runes after all. Did it really matter if she remembered any of this once she exited the doorway?
Again, she raised her hand. "Well, going back to what I said before, Raidho indicates some kind of travel--either actual traveling or lifestyle changes," she said. "If it's paired with Algiz, which means protection, then maybe the bind runes is a protection against things that can hinder you when traveling or making some sort of drastic change."

Uhm.. does that mean they were done? The class was finish? Well.. she certainly expected it to be longer. But sadly, not. She was badly hoping that the longer the class would run and the more their Professor would talk in front, she would later have the capability to understand him.
Oh well. "Thank you Professor and see you soon." She said as she scooped up her things and headed for the door.
