At the very bottom of the Headmaster's spiraling staircase there sits two stone gargoyles. Ugly (but in a rather endearing way) and enormous, these creatures keep out those who do not belong.
You will not pass this way without a password.
Post here if you are waiting, but please do not chat here. The seating area is for conversation.

ooc: To clarify, the gargoyle opened previously for a student and is no longer open. Those who wish to speak to the Headmaster must post here and wait their turn.
Waiting outside the office by the gargoyles was seriously boring.
Sighing, Scott stood patiently, examining his wand and then placing it back in his pocket. The rest of T.O.P better show up soon, otherwise it would be effectively useless.

This was when Nate walked out. "Oh shoot, sorry!" he said upon colliding with the person at the bottom of the steps. Then he saw it was Scott. "Oh! Yeah, umm, funny story..."

Scott was knocked back by a boy who seemed to be in a hurry. He looked up and noticed it was Nate, whom he was on slightly better terms with now. As Nate spoke, Scott got impatient. "Sorry Nate, but can you make it short? I've got to see the Headmaster"

Nate wobbled anxiously on his feet, heel to toe and back again. "Well, if it's about the TOP, I was just up there for it. I got five points, but only me because I showed up. So you'd be wise to wait for everyone else. Want me to stay, too?"

Scott frowned slightly. Not only had Nate already drove him insane in the morning at the pathways, but now he was practically ordering him to do things. Talk about taking an ego trip! Scott's face became straight again, not managing a smile. "It's quite alright, I'll see what the headmaster has to say on the matter" He folded his arms and leaned against the wall, sliding slightly down out and losing his balance out of tiredness.

Nate looked puzzledly at Scott, getting the vibe that his friend wanted him to leave. "Oh, ok, I'll see you later then," he said, sending a shaky smile to Scott before turning and heading off.

Minerva knew what she had to do. She had to find help for her self or she had to leave. Since no one seem to be around maybe she could see the head master.
No running in the corridors. Yes. But this was important. Importantly important. Isabelle had rushed all the way down the moving staircases - a feat in itself - from the sixth floor to the second. And now she was out of breath. Honestly, after having the baby she hadn't really got back into her exercise regime, and desperately needed to get fitter.
Hand holding her side, to try and appease the stitch forming, she leant her back against the wall. Getting her breath back slowly, she looked down at her picture frame and frowned. WHY would something do that? WHO would want to? And then the practice room. So very strange. The Headmaster had to know.
As soon as she was able to speak properly and say the password.

Her legs moving at a reasonably rapid rate, but not quite fast enough to be considered running, Seren moved silently up the stairs to the second floor. She didn't frequent the castle often, and rarely beyond the entrance hall. But THIS, well this was an urgent matter. So urgent in fact that she barely noticed where exactly she was going or who was watching her.
Her long blonde hair flowed over her shoulder, black ash paintedher hands which clasped a thick wad of blackened parchment. Her notes were completely ruined. Irreversible!
SPOILER!!: Isabelle

Coming to a halt outside the Headmasters office, Seren allowed herself to take a deep breathe. It seemed as though she wasn't the only one wanting to see Tate. "Isabelle," she greeted with a small nod. She really wasn't in the mood to socialise right now, not after everything that had happened. Whoever did this, whoever was responsible, was going to pay for it. Why would they do this? Who would do this?
She was about to utter the passowrd to the dargoyls when she noticed the photo frame in Isabelle's hand. Uhhh... what was all that about. "... You tried cleaning that?" she asked gesturing to the scribbles covering it. Was this about the house elves not doing thier jobs properly? Their cleaning WAS lacking.

Having finally got her breath back, Isabelle steeled herself to mutter the password quietly to the gargoyle, but she became distracted. The Herbology professor had arrived - and she seemed to have a pile of burnt something in her hands.
"Seren," she replied, smiling at the woman, and eyeing what she was holding. "Uhh..." Issy started to speak, about to ask what it was, when she was asked a question herself. "Oh, yes. Well not yet. I'm bringing it as evidence. Something came into my office and did this!" she said, gripping it tighter so her knuckles went white. "And stole some of my stationary. Then went and messed up my practice room, can you believe it? I've got a very helpful Hufflepuff tidying for me while I'm here," she sighed.
But yes, back to what Seren was holding. Considering the fact she had bought it with her to see Tate, it was unlikely she'd done it herself. Wasn't it? "Have you been burning things....?" Isabelle asked, quirking an eyebrow.

Seeing Isabelle holding a damaged photograph and frame was strange, but as she listened to her colleague explain what had happened, it didn't surprise her. "That's terrible, I'm so sorry," she said understanding what that felt like. First having to restore greenhouse three and now all this fire business... it was just ridiculous. "Did anyone see what did it?"
It hadn't been a student... surely.
Looking down at the bundle of barely toegther parchment, Seren heaved a sigh. "I haven't... but something did."
Again she didn't think it was a student, they didn't have access to her shed, it had wards on it, and for good reason. "Something burned my research shed down," she said with just a little venom in her tone. "A whole years worth of research... gone!" she added indicating to the blackened parchement. "The shed, my tools, the seeds... can all be replaced. But this, this will take time."

Isabelle wanted to nod her head, yet shake it at the same time, in response to the question. It was a yes and no, which just made it all the more confusing. "Minerva was in the room and saw it happening, but she couldn't see WHAT was doing it. And I was in my back room, saw nothing," she shrugged and sighed.
Burnt her shed down? "Oh, Seren, I'm really sorry." Isabelle tilted her head and looked down sorrowfully at the burnt parchment. All her work, ruined. What on earth could have wanted to do that? "You don't think maybe....it was the same thing that messed up my room, do you? I mean, there can't be two - destructive, for want of a better word - things around, can there...?" Issy frowned and looked towards the gargoyles. They really should go and speak to the Headmaster.
Whispering the password, the gargoyles moved to the sides and opened up the staircase. Isabelle gestured for Seren to go in front of her. "After you, your problem is much more serious than mine!"

"It could be... though I can't think why anyone would do such a thing in the first place."
What was the world coming to? Sure Hogwarts always had a way of surprising her, but this was one thing she did not expect to have to deal with. Nodding, she gave Isabelle a small smile, then stared at the staircase. Thank Merlin for the holidays, she thought to herself. Otherwise she might have had to ask for some time off... stress leave.
Without another thought, Seren composed herself and made her way up the spiral staircase.
