What. Was. That. Guy. Doing?!

He was acting like an overgrown first year. "HEY!" Kennedy yelled. He didn't care that he was one of the victims. That guy had thrown snow at Aurora and his half-built snowman. "Go do that somewhere else, will yah!" Kennedy didn't tolerate disrespecful people. Before, he would have stayed quiet, but not now.

He glared at the guy and then turned to Aurora. "I'll join you on that one," Kennedy muttered. He knew how to throw hexes. It was the first thing he learned, hehehe. He took off his coat, that luckily didn't get covered in snow by that bafoon. "Here," he said, placing it over Aurora's shoulders. It wouldn't be good if she caught a cold.

Directing his attention back to his snowman, Kennedy said, "I just hope I can reach to put it's head on." Yeah, by the look of the base, this snowman was going to pretty tall. "Hmm, try to make it half as big as the first one." He didn't know how big the head was supposed to be, but it did have to be the smallest snowball of all three.

For a second I considered listening to her.

Then I remembered where I was. IN THE SNOW. Was this petite little girl (who had quite a temper, might I add) gonna stop me? NO. I'd done my part in fixing the snowman, but if she didn't want to be cold, she really shouldn't have come out in the cold. Plus. I'd BUILT the castle. And she was threatening it!

What she didn't realize was that was exactly what I wanted.

Should I keep taunting her? Well, probably not. If she attacked me because of my taunts, it would be to attack me, not my castle. However, I could easily dodge anything that wasn't attacking the castle, or just cast a repelling charm. But I couldn't block the whole castle. The point was, once she attacked the castle, I had grounds to fight back. With snowballs, not wands.

Back to the point of what to say to the hot headed girl. I didn't want to be a jerk, I just wanted to have fun. "How cold, exactly?" I asked. Hey, it was a valid question. Now. Waiting is the only option available.

Did students NOT listen? "YOU" Scabior waved his wand, blasting away the snow castle with a gust of hot air. "DID YOU NOT LISTEN? NO THROWING SNOW!" He grabbed the boys collar and pulled him along. There was ALWAYS someone that had to ruin the fun.

NOM.

So...this basically sucked. Heh. What would I say? Well, there really was a lot of what he said that was simply wrong. "Um...Sir. Excuse me, but there two generally incorrect statements in that solitary statement you just made." This was getting really uncomfortable. Owchie. Intimidation....

"First" I stated in the most stately manner I could manage in this condition. "I didn't listen. I didn't hear. If I heard I'm sure I would've listened." Heh. I was really pulling it. "Second" OWWW. "I didn't throw it. Technically I uh..." Exploded it? No. Poofed it? No. Flew it? No. "I magically experimented with its properties." Hey! That sounded alright.

"Am I gonna die now?" Totally faked. Leave it to an adult; a BRITISH adult, to ruin the fun.

Hopefully the guy had a good sense of humor.

What was going on around her? Louisa sat up, after being lying down on the snow mourning her destroyed big snowball. She saw Scabior holding a boy from his collar, and just like that her grumpy mood was washed off. Not that she was gloating but the scene was just hilarious.

With a brand new mood made her get up on her feet and head toward her cracked big snowball. "Reparo..?" POP! The cracks in the ball disappeared. "I love snow!" Even if Dallin didn't and she'd made up her mind to forget about snow, with a new era in her life she was being Louisa again and forgetting about what Dal did or didn't like.

The Ravenclaw moved her snowball CAREFULLY to the base she'd made a few minutes ago and then started rolling another snowball.

Aurora smiled gratefully at Kennedy as he wrapped his coat around her, "Th-thank you." she stuttered, her teeth chattering. "I c-can't do the h-heat-t-ting ch-charm thing." she managed. "C-can you?" she pulled the coat around her more tightly.

"T-t-too c-cold, you i-idiot. I c-could fr-freeze." she chattered. She wasn't exactly the most robust person in the world, especially when it came to snow. Heat she could deal with, but the cold really got to her skinny bones - there were bad things about looking this good.

And then Professor Scabior arrived. "H-hello Pr-professor." she said, waving a little, her gloved hands looking tiny under her jumper, cloak and Kennedy's coat.

Ugh, that kid was so annoying... he was a few years older than Aurora but acted like a first year. She so wanted to hex him right now, but her fingers were too numb to reach for her wand, and Professor Scabior might object...

After brushing all the snow off of their snowman Minerva began to help form the face of their snowman.

Was this kid serious? "You better watch your mouth. I don't want to hear any technicalities. You did something you shouldn't have obviously." Dash eyed him, he was lucky that he was in a GOOD mood at the moment. Without another thought he let go of the kid. "You aren't going to die. now behave. Build a snowman. Have fun. Or you might as well leave, because if you give anymore trouble I'll be turning you into a snowman." Got that kid?

Scabior turned his head giving a small nod and smile to the third year who had created him. "Hello Miss Stewart-Quinn! You look cold there."

"Oh of course," Tori answered Professor Scabior cheerfully, tucking the ball of snow she had in her hand behind her back. "Are YOU going to make a snowman too, sir?" He oughta!

Aha charms. So Paulie had the same line of thinking that she did.

"No, I don't see any ruuuuuules posted anywhere," Tori remarked, casting her eyes about shiftily to try to see the professors interfere now. "Let's both do Wingardium Leviosa on three, k?

"One....two..." Tori trained her wand on the ball and gave it a good swish and flick. "Three! Wingardium Leviosa!"

Penny was seething with the stupid boy... why couldn't boys listen and just for once behave...

Helping Minnie, sweep the excess snow off the snowman, she got back to the eye's... I think maybe the stones used in the divination class - maybe they might bring good luck to the team.

"I think maybe the stones, you never know, might bring us good luck..... Oh my Godric, that boy was so rude - I'm glad he's gone - he could have wrecked the whole competition for us"

Elliot loved the snow. It reminded her of herself. It was icy...cold...and sometimes fun. Sometimes. She was all bundled up in her lacy scarf, which happened to be very warm, and her lacy gloves. Because Elliot loved lace. It was so elegant.

She wanted to built a snowman. But not just any snowman, for Elliot didn't usually participate in these types of silly activities. She had to think of something so utterly...up her alley, really. She found a patch of unused/stepped on snow, and began to just make a general snowman out of it...hhmmm...then she knew what to do! Since she was striving to feel really part of her house, and starting to actually like Ravenclaw, she decided to do an eagle. An eagle with its wings spread out wide, a snake struggling to get out of it's mouth. Not that Elliot had a problem with Slytherin. No, the snake represented her father. Ha! She would definitely be taking a picture and sending it home to him. As a Christmas card. Because he hadn't even asked her if she had wanted to come home for the holidays, and Elliot was still a little irked by that.

So therefore, the first year began. She was actually fairly decent at it, too. She was no artist or anything, but with the help of her wand, she began to shape the snow into what she wanted it to do.

Oh, if only people were like snow, so yielding to her wishes.

Aww... Aurora was kind of hoping the lad would get a punishment... BUT NOT POINTS! Oh well...

Aurora nodded, "Fr-freezing sir." she stuttered. "He s-soaked m-m-me."

Well that was a bummer.

Ignoring my disappointment, I sent the angry girl an amused look. She wasn't gonna get failure outta me. At this point, I wasn't sure what to do. My castle was in sorry ruins cause of the humorless British guy, and here was this little girl shooting me death stares. Maybe I could build a snowman? Eh. Too conformist. I might as well have walked away.

Should I go apologize to the girl? Or maybe just explain that snow=cold, and if she didn't want to be cold, she shouldn't have gone out in the snow. But hey. I didn't want to rub anything in her face any more. Especially snow. I kicked at the snow. Well this was just great. Lonely, lonely, snow and lonely. Snow. Lonely. Two words that have never crossed in my mind at the same time.

Well, I wasn't really lonely. I still had snow. Still in my PJ's, I sat down and huddled my knee's to my body. I was getting cold, and I should probably contain the heat I still had. Absentmindedly, I twiddled my wand this way and that, creating a little snow flurry that hopefully wasn't interfering with anyone. My collarbone still hurt.

Kannalynne had finished her six strips of snow, only now they were very..um.. how to describe it? They were as thick as a man's leg, and they curved across the ground like snakes. In a few places, they curved downwards and disappeared, only for her to build then back up again a few feet away. For two of them, she had taken the time to curl them in a circle. At the ends, she gave them rounded points.

Sigh. So far, so good. Now the entire thing looked...well... No one could quite be sure YET of what she was constructing out of her snow. But as she stepped back, she figured there was more she could build up... She just wasn't sure of what it was. But she couldn't stop until she was finished. Good for her, she wasn't bothered by the cold, even if her fingers were a little numb.

She came back to her larger mound of snow with the arrow-head like point to one side of it. Crouching down next to it, she reached her hand up next to it and began to form tiny little bumps with the snow. Almost like bubbles. She knew NOW what she could do...

Kana smiled to herself. This was going to be so cool!

"Yes he was very rude. Why do some people just feel the need to ruin everything." Minerva looked over at the boy and the professor so glad he was getting into trouble. "So we know what we are using for the eyes now what are we using for the mouth and nose?"

It took a few tries, but Kurumi eventually managed to cast a semi decent Growing Charm on her knit cap and green buttons before levitating those as well. The buttons became the large doe-like eyes that she liked so much on the creatures. The hat took a bit of patience to get on the head properly, and she had to reattach the ears several times since they broke off in the struggle.

"Hmm...you need a mouth..." she mused looking around for something.

Turning her head to look for a stick, Kurumi saw one of her fellow lions come up to her. "Oh, hello Anna," Kurumi smiled. Her cheeks flushed just a bit when she was complimented. "I've had a lot of practice. We had lessons where we had to use it often during my first and second years. They involved chocolate frogs and wooden horses." Yeah, Hogwarts could be THAT weird at times. "I was rubbish at first, a real disaster to put it nicely." She laughed softly. "Do you want to try yourself on your own snowman? I can try to help you." Not that she was anywhere near being an expert on the subject.

Kurumi looked down and saw her own shoe. Hmm...shoe laces. That didn't seem like such a bad idea. She swiftly removed the laces from her left shoe and tied them up in such a way that they at least somewhat resembled a grinning mouth. Looking up, Kurumi figured that she could jump high enough to place it, so she attempted...a few times before accomplishing her goal. Hmm...he needed clothing.

Kurumi removed her wand again. "Pingo beige," she whispered as some beige paint sprouted from her wand. She carefully traced the area of her snowman that she wanted that color. Curse her for making it so big, this was going to take forever. Once she had the base color down, she cast Pingo brown and began to draw in some more details.

Wiping her brow, Kurumi took a step back to examine her work. yep, this would certainly do.

WAIT! No, it was missing something. She glanced down at her stringless shoe to see her pink sock peeking out. "Perfect!" she chirped as she slipped her sock off, cast a meek Growing Charm on it, and stuck it to her snowman's arm. "Every house elf deserves a sock," she said with a small smile. Not that they needed to be free, but maybe the sock could keep their head warm during the winter if they worse it as a hat? If anyone asked, she would just say that she was making a snowman of Dobby the Free Elf.

Well.

I wasn't really sure what to think. But there was one thing fo' sho. All these guys thought I was a rude and insolent little child. Well. I'd learned my lesson. Brits had no sense of humor. Nor could they have proper fun. Obviously none of them had attended the nationally famous Highlands Snow War. Well. They weren't part of that nationally...they were Brits. So of course they had no sense of fun! Phooey.

A little bird landed on my knee.

"Hey, little guy." I said somewhat sorrowfully. "You lonely too?" The bird looked at me. "It's alright. You can hang with me." And now I was talking to a bird. Great.

Penny actually beamed, "Well I've actually giving the mouth a bit of thought... Generally I wouldn't like to use magic in a muggle studies assignment, but I think for his mouth we multiply the marbles and give him a great big smile what glints in the morning sun".

OK Penny knew she was babbling, but she was quite cold now and babbling had always been her way to help herself whenever that cold..

Alyssa was still trying to brush off the snow from her head and face. She had used her body to shield their snowman as much as she could when that stupid boy started throwing all that snow. "Pffft,"she spat some snow covered twigs out of her mouth,"that's a great idea, Penny. I'll help you guys once I get done sculpting his toes and hands. Does anyone have a scarf to spare? We could wrap it round his neck," Alyssa suggested to the team.

So, charms it was! Paulie reached inside his jacket and a moment later, his wand was in his hand. Wingardium Leviosa on the count of three. "Got it."

One, two, threeeeee. "Wingardium leviosa." Voila! They proceeded to place the giant snowball on top of the even bigger snowball. "So one more, then.." Paulie said, as he started out packing a small snowball to roll bigger. "What does the winner get anyway..?"

Yayyyy they did it! Tori clapped her mittened hands together gleefully and watched as Paulie got to work on the next snowball. "Ummmmmm good question," she commented. "Hmm. Maybe I should ask?"

She waved her hand in the air and called for her favorite professor. "Professor Scabior! Sir! What is the prize for this snowman-building competition?"

10,000 housepoints and a hot cup of cocoa?

Penny giggled at the vision on their snowman, complete with funny eyes, beaming smile and a hufflepuff scarf - -"He can have mine, I have a spare in my trunk - he's gonna be so cute""

But silently thinking that he would have to wait until just before the judging before he got the loan of it !!!

"Cool....no pun intended...thanks for the loan. I'm done with his feet and hands. This is looking good everyone if I don't say so myself. I think that we might have a chance in the competition. It definitely is getting cold and windy here. I hope the Special Guest judge gets here soon, or I'm going to be a frozen Popsicle myself."Alyssa told the team.

"M'hm," he nodded at her. A heating charm? Kennedy nodded again. "Yeah, just wait a sec." He pulled out a small notebook, the size of his palm, from his back trouser pocket and opened it. His green eyes scanned over it until he found it. "Aha!" He took out his wand and did the incantation and wand movement. There. "That should do the trick," he said, zipping up the zipper of his coat so Aurora would stay warmer.

He learned that from his mom as well. Every winter she would put a fluffy beanie on his head and a big coat, and zip the zipper all the way up so he would stay cozy all day.

Aurora watched as Kennedy flicked through a notebook. Hmm, probably to help remember spells - clever. She smiled gratefully as the warmth spread through from the top of her head to her toes, gradually drying her out as it did. "Thanks Kennedy." she said as her hair dried and bounced back to its usual curls, her lips, which had been turning blue around the edges, becoming a healthy red again. She stopped shivering, "Mmm, much better."

Then she realised she was wearing his coat "Won't you get cold?" she asked. "I mean, I should be fine now - I'm wearing my cloak and all my clothes have dried out." She looked at him, head to the side. Was he just crazy super-warm person or was he actually being chivalrous?
