A set of paths link the courtyard to various areas of the grounds. It’s nice to walk along either on your own or with a friend. The trees on either side of the path help to create a light atmosphere. So go on, take your time and soak up the fresh air, heaven knows students need it.

Lexi kept walking at a quick step at first and then slowed. SIGHS FOR LIFE. It wasn't Treyen she was angry with... it was everyone. Treyen didn't deserve her bitterness. And look at him being all demanding like. Making her proud. He had more Gryffindor in him than he realized. Heh.

"Of course I am sure it's what I want. I wouldn't have accepted otherwise." DUH. THen he went on about belonging to someone else... NUH UH. Alexandra Kennedy was NO ONE'S property. NO WAY. She was her own woman. Now... "My HEART belongs to him, yeah. But I will always be my own person, Treyen. Look, we have been together for three years, we are adults. I have been on my own for the better part of TWO of those three years now, Treyen. I haven't been surer of anything in my life." And that was THAT. Why couldn't SOMEONE be happy for her? Anyone? GUH.

Chad was making his way down the path, waving his wand from side to side. As he moved forward, snow would disappear just in front of him. He was in the process of melting the snow from the pathway so that students wouldn't slip and fall on the ice or snow. So thoughtful, mhmm.

"Monsieur Lockhart...Mademoiselle Denver," he greeted as he strolled on by them. He would have stopped, but it sounded like they were quite a discussion of their own.

Actually, he would have liked to throw a snowball at Monsieur Lockhart. It was still a rather tempting thought, now that he thought about it more. Hmm...

So many things had changed, right? It wasn't everyday Treyen walked after Lexi in an attempt to mend whatever had been wrong. He'd always listened when she didn't want company...but right now...company is what she needed.

That. What she said. That was true. She wouldn't have accepted, and everyone pretty much knows that she can be on her own whenever she wants to, she's done so on several occasions...he was just having a hard time figuring those two together for as long as Merlin knows.

The Hufflepuff Prefect listened to what she had to say, but he wasn't listening anymore. He was reminded of the time in the library last term, and couldn't possibly understand what her mouth was saying.

He did hear one thing. 'I haven't been surer of anything in my life'. And the smile just widened.

What followed after that was...shocking, to say the last. Treyen Lockhart was currently giving a hug to Lady Awesome. Him, the boy that wasn't much of a hugger, was actually hugging Salander's Lexi. "I'm going to miss you." Because Salander was going to be taking too much of her time. "Congratulations." He whispered.

AND THEN...."Stryker!" IWASONMYWAYTOYOURHUT. He was. "How have you been, Sir?" he asked, after having released Lexi from his hold. Smile.

"No reason to MISS me. Except for the fact that I won't be around next term. But... I want to give you something really special... something that was given to me as well. I think it's only right to pass it along," she said with a smile. It wasn't an IT, it was a HIM. Hehehe. "I would like for you to have Rufus when I leave here. He loves Hogwarts and well Jim gave him to me... and I want to give him to someone equally as awesome. I plan to travel a LOT when I leave and I would hate to drag him along so much. Will you take him?" she asked with a HUGE grin.

OH! Hugs. Awwww super awesome hugs at that. Returning it gratefully she smiled wider still, if that was possible. "Thank you, Mister Awesome."

EEEEEEP! Mister Stryker was there. EWWWW he called her Denver. Yuck. Smiling politely after a momentary nose wrinkle she said, "|Kennedy, sir. Last name's Kennedy now. And yes, how have you been?" SHe wouldn't stick around long... just wanted to get pleasantries out of the way and whatnot. Heh.

That was reason enough to miss her, but that's not what he truly meant. She'd caught the meaning, though, but still. Some things were bound to change, right?

But, wait, what? A gift?

Treyen tilted his head to the side as he wondered what she was talking about. Hold it...Rufus? Wasn't that...? No, that couldn't be it, because James had taken the little monkey along, right? "Rufus? Who's Rufus?" Right, because Rufus was a person now.

"Actually, I don't mind, I'll take good care of him for you." Anything for Lady Awesome.

At her 'thank you' he only winked. She was more than welcome, really.

Was that a good thing or a bad thing. Kurumi studied his expression and tried to compare it to the only other person she had ever made a confession to. His shocked expression didn't seem to give any hints of disappointment, so that was something good. Then again, she had never really seen Jonathan look disappointed, so she wasn't sure what sort of face he would make if or when he was disappointed.

She swayed a bit, not knowing if she should get closer or take a step away. On the one hand, she had accomplished something fantastic. She had told Jonathan how she felt and he had said that he liked her too...but she had also made thing difficult on herself. She still hadn't spoken with Ali yet...and she wasn't sure WHAT to do about that.

The smile on his face made her forget all that for the moment and it brought a small smile to her face.

"I'm...sorry if I shocked you..."

SPOILER!!: My last post for now :)

“Ravenclaw pride.” Mordred muttered as he listened to Beezus. “Yes, your brain doesn’t work like mine does—that’s very evident.” Mordred scowled this time. “But if I were in your situation, I’d rather not play games with you and go have myself checked.” Mordred jumped off from where he was sitting and a few snowflakes flew off the ground. Seriously? She’s supposed to be the bright and clever one—“If you were in a duel, you’d be stupefied by now.” He said as he inched closer, looking straight in to her eyes. “What I’m trying to say is—eat your pride and save yourself.” He said in a hushed tone and started to walk toward the castle.

It was getting darker and it was harder now to see the path. Snow was starting to fall again, and he could feel his feet and hands getting cold. He spun around to face Beezus. “What? You’re just going to stand there? Start walking. Let’s go.”

He pulled out the wand from his sleeve and swished his arm toward the path they were going to tread, clearing it from snow.

“We don’t have all afternoon, SuzyBee.” He smirked and started to walk. Well, is Mordred being nice? The boy thought that he can’t just leave a limping girl behind. Although it was tempting, what if a professor finds her and she starts blabbing that a certain Slytherin boy named Mordred left her there to freeze? He can’t risk it, especially now that their house is on the lead.

There she goes again. Apologizing. Jonathan shook his head "Don't be sorry" after all, he meant it differently when he said that. For most, Jonathan was shocked that Kurumi actually likes him back. "I'm just shocked that you said that" instead of the other way around, which had happened to him once before. By far, last year was the laziest term Jonathan has ever been. Her mother even gave him an hour lecture of getting thin at Hogwarts. AT HOGWARTS. Nobody gets thin at Hogwarts.

"And here, I thought i was going to make my lousy speech" yes, as embarrassing as that sound, he has prepared a speech. He laughed when he recalled it. It's lame. Super lame, his owl might vomit.

Then his focused turned to her, he doesn't even know how to react to all of this. He leaned down to her and kissed her. It was either that or the lame speech. He doesn't have much of a choice now does he?

And as he pulled back, he suddenly realized that he shouldn't have done that in the first place, right? Kurumi should have a say in this too, right? Right?! "I-i'm sorry" he mumbled.

Her eyes widened, but she didn't pull away and instead remained with her feet firmly planted on the ground. Her eyes fluttered shut and she felt her heart skip several beats when his lips pressed against hers, but it seemed to be over before it had even started. She had hardly registered that it had happened at all when her eyes fluttered back open and she looked up at him with a perplexed look on her face.

Kurumi looked down at her shoes and aimlessly kicked at a rock. Over thinking. Story of her life. Story of where she was right now actually. So many thoughts were swimming around in her head. Adam admitting that he made the biggest mistake of his life in tossing her to the side. Her and Ali by the lake. All the rejections from the past rushing back. It was all too much for her to handle and she began to wobble in the knees from the stress.

She didn't even hear Jonathan say that he was glad he had changed his hair back - she would have still liked him even if his hair was still a little orange. She did snap back to the present when Jonathan asked where this currently left them. Merlin...she had been hoping that he wouldn't come right out and ask that.

Timidly, she reached out for his hand and took it in her own. She didn't want to ruin the moment by admitting that she was confused still about her feelings towards him and Ali. Sigh. He understands what it is like to be put in a place where you can't decided yet.

Blinking, she looked up at him, "Why...do you have to be so nice...?" she laughed while her eyes shimmered a bit from tears. She rocked on her heels a bit, not really knowing what else to say or do, but knowing that she didn't really want to leave where she was right now. Her free hand went to the purple scarf around her neck and she gripped it tightly. "And...you shouldn't think that..." She cut herself off, feeling overly shy at the moment. He shouldn't think that being with him would make her unhappy.

Erin went towards her and extended her arms, handshake, but not because of the introductions. It's for the possible warmth of Presley's hand intertwined with Erin's. She remembered when she felt cold back at home, she would just hold hands with her sister, Cristina. God, she missed her.

So, it was a talk about Erin's life? "It was good," answered Erin. "You don't seem your usual self, Presley. You wanna talk?" She knew it was a great leap for a person who had just met someone and tell her her emotions but Erin felt like she knew Presley all along. They just hadn't got the chance to talk. Erin always noticed this young Ravenclaw at the common room and she was the type of person who's always jolly. It was just obvious in her face that something was bothering her. Erin was good in reading minds. Or maybe, faces.

Jonathan grew up always having what his way and what he wants but right now he can't seem to do that anymore. He was not the same kid 2 years ago that wanted a new toy every time his parents went abroad. No more. He is no longer that kid anymore. Kurumi is someone really special to him and he didn't want to loose her. Holding her hand made him even more realize that he's never letting go unless she says so.

Kurumi smiled, really genuinely smiled when Jonathan spoke again. Throwing all caution to the wind now, threw her arms around him and hugged him. It wasn't the same sort of timid hug from earlier - the sort where she was unsure as to whether or not she should be hugging him and in what manner she should - but now a strong hug with emotion behind it. Yes, she was confused on so many levels about what was going on. Yes, she was scared about it all. Yes, she was afraid of hurting Jonathan when all was said and done. But...right now, she just wanted to forget all that and see what it felt like to give in entirely to the feelings that had been growing ever since summer.

"Not...all tears are bad you know," she said with a small smile as she looked up at him again, standing ever so slightly on her tipy toes.

Treyen tilted his head to the side as he wondered what she was talking about. Hold it...Rufus? Wasn't that...? No, that couldn't be it, because James had taken the little monkey along, right? "Rufus? Who's Rufus?" Right, because Rufus was a person now.

"Actually, I don't mind, I'll take good care of him for you." Anything for Lady Awesome.

At her 'thank you' he only winked. She was more than welcome, really.

"Rufus is my monkey. Well pygmy marmoset, to be more precise. James left him to me, but I think I would like to leave him to you. I had once thought... well it doesn't matter," she said waving her hand dismissively. She didn't want to talk about Kurumi with Treyen... or with anyone if she could help it.

"But yes, take extra special care of him. He is very sweet and fun... kind of loud sometimes, but hey... I think he learned that from me." She gave Treyen a wink as well and turned toward Mr. Stryker with a smile.

Jonathan's smile grew wider as she hugged him tightly this time. He must have done something right. He hugged her back. This is nice. On a winter day, the new year, Jonathan just came back and wasn't expecting for things to happen this way. He even thought, his secret would go on for about 3 more months and then he'll tell her. He just feels relieved that despite whatever Kurumi chooses he'll always be there. "I like it a lot when you're smiling" he said softly. No one deserves to be sad and anger just doesn't solve anything.

True. Not all tears are bad, so why was she about to cry? Was she happy? Ughhh... Jonathan sucks when analyzing the female behavior. "So is there a reason behind those tears?" he smiled to her. Jonathan can't help but notice Kurumi was standing on her toes already. Was he that tall? Jonathan didn't grew over the break but people seemed to have notice his height difference lately. He laughed softly as he covered his mouth. She looked cute.

Kennedy sighed when the fresh air hit his face. It was nice and he'd appreciate it more if it wasn't for his nerves. His hands were getting fidgety so he stuck them into his trouser pockets and continued walking. Briefly, his eyes would dart to Aurora's kitten, but what he really wanted to do was look at her. Her green eyes always caught his attention. Hmm, how did he ever get at this stage?

How did he end up falling for the girl that fainted on the train. It was almost funny how a guy like him got a girl as pretty as her to kiss him? Or maybe...it all just went back to what had caused that.

"So..." he said, cursing himself for being so lame. "U-Um, I had a lot fun at your house." Yes, start of slow and then....

...Yeah.

Aurora tickled Sebastian behind the ears and he purred a little, she was really nervous... and Aurora Stewart-Quinn was NEVER nervous... She wasn't even sure why... it wasn't like... it was... she couldn't even understand her own thoughts... how was she supposed to talk to Kennedy about it?

Aurora smiled and looked at him, taking her eyes off the floor. "I'm really glad you came. I'm er, sorry about Krys... he's a bit... older-brotherly." she said, fidgeting. Stupid Kryspin being all sarcastic and protective over her... well at least he'd been civil. In fact, she was really grateful to her whole family for being so nice... especially Tiff...

She was smarter than he thought and she got the message real quick. Quicker than he had liked. "I-I...Uh, well...I...yeah." Gosh, will she know now that he liked her?

She kissed him because that's what you do? Something like lead dropped to the bottom of Kennedy's stomach. Kennedy hung his head, not knowing how to respond to that. She only kissed him because of the mistletoe. His prediction had been right and now...

He raised his head when he heard her speak again. Wait...what?! A smile spread on Kennedy's lips. She liked him?

She liked him?

Was he dreaming? Had he tripped on a rock and hit his head real hard that now he was hearing things? Or had heard wrong? "Y-You like me?" he said. His heart was pounding hard against his chest and he felt as if though he would pass out. Get a hold of yourself, Escalante! "I-I mean are you sure?" Because, he was Kennedy. The kid that got bullied back home, the kid that things like this just didn't happen to.

With the smile still plastered on his face he looked down at the ground and then back up. "You don't have to worry about anything," he said, taking his hands out of his pockets. He tucked a red strand of hair behind her ear and smiled wider. "I really like you, too." This had to be a dream and if it was, he never wanted to wake up.
