A set of paths link the courtyard to various areas of the grounds. It’s nice to walk along either on your own or with a friend. The trees on either side of the path help to create a light atmosphere. So go on, take your time and soak up the fresh air, heaven knows students need it.

Her eyes flicked up and she looked at him shocked. She could not find the words to speak so she fumbled around for a moment or two. Her lips then formed the words and her brain transmitted her message, "I don't either... so what does this mean?"

And that's fine with me," he agreed with a small nod. They surely didn't need to make any hasty decisions about ideas and feelings. More mistakes would only come from that and then all hopes of keeping their friendship intact would be in more danger and Gideon didn't want that to happen.

"We're friends...I hope we always can be," he answered hoping also that she felt the same way. "We just need to figure out if theres something...special...about our friendship," he added tilting his head as he spoke not sure where he was coming from but he was just letting his mind and lips go on.

Selina could feel her entire body that had once been home to a mass of tension relax once he smiled. The small gesture let her know that this whole situation was not as serious as the two of them were making it. When it all came down to the bare bones of Selina and Gideon they were just two silly, awkward Gryffindors. Being serious all of the time did not fit their personality or their friendship. She was glad to see that she had not caused some riff that would be irreparable.

She nodded at him and punched him lightly in the shoulder, "Good... we're friends then." At the special comment she tried to repress a blush, but she was unsure if her ears had deceived her and shown a blush regardless, "Yeah... we should, um, do that. Let's just take it one day at a time though, okay? I mean, no need to jump straight into anything completely defined and understood, right?" The truth was Selina was scared. She was always the outsider in these types of situations. She gave the advice... she never needed it, but Gideon Gert was changing all of the rules for her... but, perhaps, she didn't mind.

Which despises me even more."

Maybe Thea would of been suprised if she hadn't taken the potion, but now that it had kicked in properly she wasn't suprised at all. Smirking slightly, her eyes scanned the small boy up and down as he stepped forward. Her dark eyes went cold as her haughty expression deepened.

'My little mind? Oh please. You couldn't get your own way even if you begged..' She crossed her arms, and laughed. 'I heard about your little fight with the older Slytherin.. pathetic.' She practically spat the words. Now she was slightly amused. 'Griffindork? Paha!' She shrugged her shoulders before sneering at him. 'I could do, because I know you wouldn't hit me back!' Blinking a few times, Thea was a bit lost for words. She stood there as the cold wind whipped around them both. Rolling her eyes, she rubbed her gloved hands together as she looked around at anywhere apart from Daichi. This was totally natural.. she was Gryffindor, he was Slytherin. Deal.

Over time it seemed the tension was gradually vanishing from between them which made things noticably easier especially thinking and speaking. No need for anything else just now to complicate things any further. Gideon couldn't help but chuckle as she punched his shoulder like always, all seeming to be right in the world since they were back to behaving like they normally did between themselves.

Her blush certainly took on a new meaning with the given circumstances and he tentatively raised a hand as if to touch her cheek but quickly lowered it back down to his side before it got above his waist afraid of only making it worse rather then sooth. Selina finally felt her breath calm and everything that was inherent in her body, like breathing and standing, seemed to even out once more. While she finished reeling herself back in from hysteria she had caught a little bit of what Gideon had said. Her hair had fallen a wisp or two out of place during her little fit of hysterics so she brushed them out of her face and said a little out of breath from laughing, "No, I wouldn't. It would be too weird to be anything else."

Then she looked at him and smirked, "Listen, I, um, have to go." She had to tell Violet what was going on, although she herself wasn't really sure what was going on. They had barely discussed it. It was more along the lines of they would work it out day by day, which Selina was okay with. That did not disregard the fact that Violet needed to be informed at that exact moment. There were just some things that Selina told Violet and this, for sure, would be one of them.

She adjusted her scarf a little and turned around to walk away. She stopped in her tracks and turned around to face him. In three steps she approached him, leaned up on her toes and gave him a kiss on the cheek for a goodbye, "I'll see you later, then?" And with that she went to leave.

"Professor Lafay !" she yelled as she ran after her Pygmy puff which was now running, or rather jumping on the Pathways. She needed to catch it now. Their assignment was almost due and she badly needed to show to their Potions Mistress that she had succeed in making a correct Hate Potion.

The Pygmy Puff suddenly stopped. She looked intently at its eyes and hoped against hope that it would understand that she badly needed its help. And maybe it did understand since it did not move any more.

Slowly, she walked towards it, "Here, baby.." she said in the gentlest voice she could muster. Still it did not move. She reached out her hand to pat it when it jumped ! It was on her head. It jumped again. Back at the Ground. It was darting away from her.

"Hopeless !" she shouted, pulling her hair. "GRRRR !" She was now frustrated. Very.

Daichi stared fixedly at Thea as he wondered how she had known about his fight with Neves. But then it had been in a public place so she could have been there at the moment. So he kept quiet about it but this time he couldn't resist the earch to roll his eyes. "I don't hit back because i'm better than you" strike one! "Besides, i can make you hurt without even touching you" he sneered , a false thread but he thought it would be cool to say.

Daichi checked his wrist watch before looking up again. "I'm leaving, i don't want to be seen with someone as stupid as you" He hoisted his bag over his shoulder and walked away....

Thankfully he was one of the chasers in the Slytherin team so his reaction was a little faster. He stuck his hands out to break his fall. Lying on the ground, Daichi looked up with a look that seemed to blaze fire and he growled. Yes, the cute innocent boy actually growled at Thea.

Bending over, Thea clutche dher sotmach as she burst out laughing. Wiping tears as she ran, suddenly all the air was knocked out of her. With a mighty OOF Thea fell.. flat on her side. Ow?
Shaking her head slightly, Thea let a hiss rip throught her teeth. Oh stop. Did he just growl?!

Jumping to her feet, Thea bounded after the small boy. Grabbing a fistful of his robes she spun him round and trapped him against the tree. Her teeth bared slightly, Thea suddenly felt strange. The tingling, aggressive feeling had gone. Raising an eyebrow, Thea hiccuped. 'Um..' Bringing her arms back beside her, releasing Daichi Thea wiped a tear from her cheek and frowned. 'You so did not just push me over there..'

He gasped as his back hit the tree and he glared at Thea when she...started...hiccuping? A strange feeling swept over him as his stare changed from cold and angry to a look of pure confusion. Folding her arms, she looked away.

Rubbing her cold nose, Thea sniffed. That was weird.. just weird weird. Eurgh, she could practically feel the lovely new bruises blooming on her legs and elbows. Fabulous.

Why she picked outside to do this, Mia did not know. It was so bloody cold. Though maybe if her potion did work and her friend was gonna hate her then maybe she'll just throw a snowball at her instead of her fist.

One could only hope.

She fingered the vile of potion in her pocket and she heaved a nervous sigh. She really didn't want to do this. Marie was her best friend. They had been through quite a lot together.

A little squeak could be heard from her shoulder and Mia turned to look at her puffeskin Arnold. She had brought him out here as a back up in case she decided she couldn't go through with giving the potion to Marie.

Now she just had to wait until her friend got here.

She fingered the vile of potion in her pocket and she heaved a nervous sigh. She really didn't want to do this. Marie was her best friend. They had been through quite a lot together.

A little squeak could be heard from her shoulder and Mia turned to look at her puffeskin Arnold. She had brought him out here as a back up in case she decided she couldn't go through with giving the potion to Marie.

Now she just had to wait until her friend got here.

Why on earth had Marie agreed to this? There was no way she could hate Mia. How could anyone hate her. She was just so darn lovable. Had the girl ever done anything in her life to make someone want to hate her?

Finally reaching the pathways it didn't take her long to find Mia. Sneaking up behind her Marie just couldn't help herself.

"Boo!"

If she was about to hate her friend she wanted to give her something to laugh about first. What better way to do that than with the way they first met.

Mia started shifting from foot to foot to keep herself warm. She was never in a million years going to get used to the cold. Maybe they should have done this inside. She was just thinking about actually jogging on the spot when there was a voice behind her and she jumped slightly before turning around.

"Marie! Will you stop doing that." She gave her friend a look of mock outrage before bursting into a fit of giggles.

It actually felt good to laugh, it seemed to relieve the tension in her body a little. "Thanks for coming." Her fingers brushed across the vial again.

That NEVER got old.

Holding her stomach because she was laughing so hard she tried not to fall over. "Why would I ever stop doing that. The look on your face is always priceless. No matter how many times I scare you."

At least Mia had finally figured out that Marie wasn't really going to hurt her. "You really think I was going to let someone else hate on you?" No way would she let that happen. She would have to break someones nose if she seem them being mean or hateful to Mia. Even if it was just because of a potion.

It wasn't THAT funny. One of these days she was going to have to get her back. Actually, Mia decided right there that before the term was out, she was going to scare Marie...somehow. "Well at least I give you a good laugh."

Mia looked at Marie and she felt a rush of love for her friend. She was willing to sacrifice herself for this experiment. This was going to be so hard though. She pulled out the vial of potion, hesitated for a moment and then held it out to her friend. "Just don't hit me or anything okay?"

Maybe she should get her wand out just in case.

"Yeah, well it seems a laugh isn't all you're about to give me." It was true, Mia always made Marie laugh but she knew once she drank that potion there was going to be no laughing here.

Stepping closer to Mia, Marie hesitantly grabbed the phial from her. She then threw her arms around Mia's neck giving her a huge hug. "I promise. No hitting." There was no way she could ever hit Mia.

Stepping back she looked Mia in the eyes. "Remember, no matter what I say or do after drinking this... you're one of my very best friends and I love you." She just hoped she'd be able to control her hate and not be too mean to Mia.

Yeah that was true. But Marie had to know that this was the last that Mia wanted to do. If this wasn't part of a homework assignment then she would never have even entertained the idea of giving someone a hate potion.

Mia was just about to say something when Marie threw her arms around her and she immediately returned her friend's hug, giving her a tight squeeze. Now it felt like she was about to lose her best friend and she had to blink back the tears that were forming in her eyes.

This was harder than Marie thought it would be. She knew that the effects of this potion were only gong to last twenty minutes at the most, but it was the idea of her hating Mia for those twenty minutes.

Uncorking the phial she just stared at it for a moment. Could she really do this? Could she hate the girl that had never done anything mean to anyone in her whole life?

She was about to find out.

Bringing the phial to her lips she swallowed the disgusting potion down in one gulp. "That. Was. Disgusting." That stuff tasted worse than the firewhiskey they had at the Hogs Head.
