Seren smiled, it was a good thing Harvey listened to her, otherwise there would be issues, but she couldn't help it. She liked the boy. He certainly had that Ravenclaw charm, and was such a sweet outgoing student.

She did frwn a little when he mentioned that some of the professors were tough. Personally she found that a little sad. Students had the right to qualitiy education without having to walk on eggshells. But either way, she was always here for her students, her door was always open-- or at least they would be opened.

"Oh I'm very well, thank you. Everything seems to be running quite smoothly so far, hopefully it will stay that way." But it was Hogwarts, and nothing was ever normal. In fact the abnormal was normal for Hogwarts.



"Nice to see you Justin," she said smiling at the young Puff. She remembered him from class. Not a bad lad. And he had a gift for her! How delightful. "Thank you dear it's lovely," she said taking it gently and finding a place for it on her window sill with some of the other plants she'd received.

Having trouble submitting the homework? "What seems to be the problem exactly?" she asked, an eyebrow raised curiously.



Seren offered the girl another smile as she watched her leave. "See you then."



"Thank you dear, I'm sure I will... when I get the time." She smiled warmly, Emily was such a friendly young Gryffindor. And the friendly sort were her favourite type of students.
"See you later," she replied, watching the girl leave her office.



Seren nodded, she understood perfectly. "Right then, how are you will stunning spells?... he's grown a fair bit, but I'd be more than happy to take you to my research shed for a quick visit, I was about to go see him myself seeing as it'll be feeding time."
She gave the Ravenclaw a wink. She would be in for a treat... provided she didn't egt too close, otherwise she might end up being the treat.

Harvey smiled, why couldnt ALL his professors be like Professor Bentley? he thought to himself. She was so kind and inviting that he didnt feel like leaving but he would have to leave sooner or later he had classes and homework.

"Yes, I am sure it will stay that way." Harvey said. "Well Professor, it doesnt feel nice saying this as I have enjoyed the time spent with you here in this office, but I think it is time for me to leave and let you do whatever work you have, and to allow other students to see you as well. If I stay here all day no matter how much I love spending time with you professor, they will not be seen to and that is not nice on my part.

So it is with a very heavy heart that I bid you farewell Professor Bentley, I will see you again in our next class.

Goodbye. " Harvey walked to the doorway of Professor Bentley's office and once he got to the doorway he turned around and smiled at Professor Bentley

"Professor, you are now officially my MOST favourite professor, IF there is EVER anything I can do for YOU then please DO NOT hesitate to ask, please. I would love to help you in anyway I can, I really would." He smiled at Professor Bentley

He was about to leave again when he walked back into the office to Professor Bentley

"Professor, Is there anything I can help you with right now?" He asked Seren.

"I love puppies! My Parents wouldn't let me have one, but we had a cat. It's not very nice though, it likes to scratch me," Zhenya said as she scratched Caltex's tummy.

"My grandmother had a bit of a knack at mixing plants, particularly roses with shrubs. Some of them were really quite unusual, she made one breed of tree grow blue roses. She was very amazing." Zhenya's eyes wandered around the office, and she noticed how beautifully decorated it was.

"I love it here, but I am frightened of a few of the professors. I suppose I will get used to it but I just need to stay out of trouble - so far, so good," Zhenya said and smiled.

"How long have you been teaching here?"

Ryan walked into the cosy room and sat down.;;Do I have to ask permission for the Herbology Sheds''

You know my Father is an extrodanaire with plants,He just loves them.

Hopping into the professor's office Bum- Buh, buh, buh Jonathan was immediately taken aback. What is THIS???? I had expected the Herbology Professor to have a MUCH Nicer office. But, that thought slipped his mind almost as quick as it came in.

Ooh... Fanged Geraniums

The boy moved into the office more to let the professor follow. Meanwhile, Jonathan observed everything in the office.... He just wanted to play with it all.

Presley beamed. Really? She got to go into the private research thread? Stunning spells? "I'm not bad at stunning," she replied. "I'm beginning to learn that it's a necesary component of Herbology." Presley laughed lightly, remembering the last Herbology lesson. Feeding time? Presley might get to feed him! The thought delighted her. Her little plant, it..well, it didn't really depend on her, it depended on Bentley, but for a moment, it might need her. Presley loved that. That for a moment, even by a small plant, she might be needed. "I would love to go visit him!" How many students in Hogwarts could claim to have been in the Herbology teachers private greenhouse? Probably not many. And Presley would have that honor!

Oh he had to leave? so soon.... such a shame. But she supposed it was only fair that he should attend his lessons and do his homework. Such an admirable Ravenclaw. "Thank you so much for stopping by Harvey, I've really enjoyed our chat," she said smiling brightly. She eyed the pile of homework... the ever increasing pile. Sigh. She'd much rather chat, but she had teaching duties to fulfil.

"Thank you I really appreciate that, and I'll certainly keep that in mind." Another helper! Brilliant... perhaps she would start up that project after all.

She watched as Harvey went to leave her office, but paused for another question. "Of course, help is always appreciated. The greenhouses require regular sweeping and watering is always appreciated. Whatever you ahve time for dear... no pressure."



Scratched her? well that didn't sound like a very nice pet. "Well on the bright side, perhaps one day you'll be able to have a puppy of your very own." The only reason she got one was because her mother insisted on her settling down and having a child... so here he was. Her child. And she loved him like he was her very own... only smaller and fluffy and not human.

"Well your grandmother sounds like a very skilled herbologist."
Indeed she did, Seren herself hadn't thought to try cross-pollination until recently, and still she hadn't had time to look into it, just a bit of light reading at night. One day...

Oohh... yes, not so friendly Professors. She'd been hearing that quite a bit, though she didn't like to think poorly of her colleagues. "Yes it seems keeping your head down is the order of the day. Though I'm sure things will improve, our new Professors are still settling in as well." Not that it was much of an excuse.
"Me? Oh this will be my second year, I spent a few years travelling the world first."



Moving around her desk to take her seat, Seren eyed the student before her. Permission to access herbology sheds? what sheds? her personal shed? ...
"Pardon me... but what do you mean by Herbology sheds?"



Seren eyed the boy and his obvious enthusiasm. Was this a good thing or a bad thing? She wasn't too sure. Taking her usual seat behind her desk she laced her fingers together, resting her elbows on the desk.
"So what can I do for you today?" she asked brightly.



Even if Presley wasn't profficient in stunning spells, she was, so no harm done there. "It does help a great deal... particularly with the flesh eating variety." She watched Presley's reaction, she seemed... enthusiastic about it. It was nice to see she'd gotten over the initial shock of her discovery.

"Well then... I suppose we should go and say hello. Now I'm warning you, he has grown, and he will make himself bigger when we enter, don't be afraid to use your want, it wont harm him, but remember stun only."
Seren rose from her seat, she'd have to get the sheep carcus from the store room ont he way. "Come on then," she mused as she led the way out of the office.

William wiped his feet before he came into the office. " Thank you for seeing me" Wiliam told the professor. " There was an accident at the Swimming Pond and Waterfall" William said to the professor. " Some boy named Ryan hit his head and he is relly hurting and I tried to help him, but he is not opening his eyes" William explained to the professor. " Now there are a bunch of seventh years there not using their caps plus interfering with younger students including tripping one and never helped the boy" William sighed. " This is why I do not like or talk to many older classmen" William sighed again. " Can you help?" William asked the professor.

Seren walked around to sit behind her desk. Sigh... oh merlin. Why did children come to her when they were hurt or injured? Did she look like a mother or a healer? "If your friend is hurt I suggest you get him up to the Hospital Wing... there's not much I can do for him. I'm a herbologist. I look after plants... I have no experience in healing children." Honestly, she could try, but it wouldn't be very good. Best leave a healer to do the healing.

As for the other students.. Sigh.
"If you don't get along with the other students, then I suggest you simply ignore them and surround yourself with students you do like. In regards to the rules, I'm busy for the time being but I'm sure someone will be along to check on things at some point in time." It wasn't her job to make sure students were wearing swimming caps. Honestly, what was this boy thinking?
"If you have an issue with bullying I suggest you notify your Head of House... they can then look into it further."
Smiling, she leant back in her seat.
"Was there anything else?" she asked.

Sorry I wasn't pacific,the greenhouses for students.Do I have to ask permission?

Harvey smiled broadly
"I have also enjoyed our chat professor, I have never chatted as freely with any of my other professors or muggle teachers." Harvey would have to come by regularly

"Yes ma'am I will be there every other day sweeping those greenhouses, in fact I will go there right now. You might see me there sweeping and tidying up. I always have time to help you professor, I am able to finish my homework and have some extra free time, so I will spend it helping you professor." Harvey smiled broadly again

"Well, professor...." Jonathan began. "Let me properly introduce myself..."

He took his usual heroic stance as he always does when introducing himself. "I am JONATHAN KIRK!!! WORLD ADVENTURER!!!" His introduction said everything you need to know about this striking young lad.

"I've been everywhere professor. You name it, I've been there." Which brings me to my next point... "I'm ALSO a plant expert.... Well... As expertuous (that's a word, right?) as one can get over 13 years of staring at plants." Jonathan nodded. He did know an awfuuuul LOT about magical plants.

"So....... I was wonderin'.... If there were any, sort of, advanced plant life I could look into? Like, at Hogwarts???" Yeah? Yeah? Yeah?

" I will get hom to the helaer" Willaim told her. William left her office.

Travelling? WOW! "Where abouts did you travel to? What was your favourite spot? What did you do?" Zhenya was fascinated with travel, ever since her brother had announced he was taking a few years off to look at the world's many secrets.

"Well, I'm not the one to make trouble. I'm very scared to lose points, my brother said his house got very angry at him for losing points. But... he was a trouble maker so that explains that..." she said, losing her train of thought.

"Well, if you would like any help with cross-pollination my grandmother found a potion which allows you to cross-pollinate anything you want without it, I guess you could say, rejecting. I haven't yet been able to successfully brew the potion, but I'm sure you will be able to," she said, hoping she was being helpful. She pulled out a small book and showed the professor the very detailed potion.

Listening intently, Seren smiled, he was sorry he wasn't an ocean? How strange. "You do not need to ask permission. You're always welcome in the greenhouses and the student gardens. Though if you intend to grow something yourself I suggest the student garden. The greenhouses are more or less miniature ecosystems so its best you don't introduce new plants to them without checking with myself first."




Oooohh brillaint! "I look forward to seeing you around then," she said smiling and giving Harvey a little wave.
Mm, she would have to pop into the greenhouses soon enough... just to make sure everything was in order.



Seren blinked. .... then blinked again.
Well, nobody could say that this boy wasn't charismatic, he certainly had a lot of... flare? Despite being taken aback by the... loud... boy, Seren grinned broadly. "Well Jonathon, it's a pleasure to meet such a bright and enthusiastic student like yourself." It was rather entertaining.

"And as it so happens, we seem to have a fair bit in common. I too have travelled the world... and will continue to do so, and I'm also an expert in the area." If she wasn't then she wouldn't be teaching it. Nope, she was certainly the cream of the crop, especially when it came to vegetation of the flesh-eating nature.

Advanced plant life?... Of course there was!
Seren smiled and nodded, even though the sheer presense of the boy put her in the mood to yell and dance and giggle about it.
"We do indeed, I'd suggest taking a look at the greenhouses, we have a large variety of magical plants, if you're after something a little advanced I'd suggest greenhouse five. We have some interesting plants in there... including the snarfalump and self-fertilising bushes. You'll also find the venomous tentacular, but do be careful, we wouldn't want you getting hurt. Mmm they were an awefully grabby group.



"Right... good," she replied, watching as the student left her office without a single thank you or goodbye. How so very rude.

Hmph.



"I travelled mostly for research, I went on a number of herbological expeditions through the Amazon, which is where I spent most of my time, but I also did some research in the Swiss Alps, in Australia and in Wales... it was all just so amazing. If I had to pick a favourite though..." Seren mused for a minute thinking, remembering her fondest memories, "I'd say probably the Amazon, though Australia was quite spectacular as well."

Seren laughed lightly, leaning back in her seat and glancing out the window briefly. A troublemaker. They were always such fun.
"Well I'm sure you have a good head on your shoulders, but don't be afraid to be yourself and let loose a little. Points aren't everything." And if thats what she'd been told then the person that told her needed to be hit over the head. School was for learning and for fun.. not for walking on egg shells and making sure you didn't lose points.

Peering at Zhenya's potion recipe, Seren noted the ingredients. She'd seen it before... in fact, she probably had it in one of the many books that filled her shelves. "Thank you dear, I'm sure I'll get around to it someday, there's still a lot I want to acheive before I get too involved in cross-pollination."
But she made a mental note to do a little more reading about it later that night.

Harvey smiled broadly

"I look forward to seeing you to Professor, whether it is in class or outside." Harvey looked towards his feet and saw the Professor's puppy looking up at him, Harvey bent down and gave the pup a good scratch behind the ears.

"Sorry buddy I got to go now." Harvey stood up and looked at the professor "But I will be back real soon, I promise."

"Well Professor, I will go now, but I will back to see you soon." He smiled, he then left and while leaving he waved at the professor.

Harvey was gone.

Aurora followed Professor Bentley into her office, smiling as she dodged the fanged Geraniums. "Hello Professor, how are you?" she asked, smiling. Professor Bentley always seemed like a cheery sort of person... it kind of made Aurora feel chirpy just being around her.

Zhenya took what Professor Bentley had said and noted to herself that she would remember it. Points aren't everything. Really? She thought she could have been more outgoing in class without worrying about points.

"Thank you very much Professor, you speak good advice! Your adventures sound so amazing. The Swiss Alps? I once went on a holiday there, we took a train around the mountains. It was a Magic-Free holiday. In fact, all my holidays have been Magic-Free. But it was magnificent, and very cold. But we got to do so much, and see so much, it was probably my most favourite holiday I ever went on. What other things do you wish to achieve?"

Zhenya was astonished with Professor Bentley, she seemed like an inspirational Professor.

Lacing her fingers together, Seren rested them on her lap. Harvey was easily one of her favourite students. Well... on her long list of favourite students, they were all just so wonderful.

"I'll look forward to it," she added, watching him slip out of the door, giving him a last little wave.

She glanced quickly at Caltex, yeah he seemed fond of the boy too.



Closing the door behind them, Seren bent down and scooped up a curious Caltex into her arms. "I've been very well," she replied brightly, taking her usual seat and stroking Caltex's ears. They were so soft and fluffy.
"And how have you been? I trust your classes are going well?"



Seren smiled brightly, seems as though she wasn't the only one to fall in love with Switzerland. Such amazing sceneries, it was trully a sight to see, and the Alps were the icing on the cake.

"Oh many things, I plan on doing more travelling in the summer holidays, obviously not as extensively as I had before but there are still corners of the world I'd like to explore. More plants to observe and discover..." Yes, she could never get enough of that. If she had her way she would live off the land and travel all her life. But it wasn't an option.
"Of course I couldn't leave Hogwarts, teaching is just as much a passion of mine as herbology is, so naturally I couldn't give it up." A smile turned up the corners of her lips. She couldn't leave such a wonderful school, with all its wonderful students, they deserved the best, and so she would make sure they got it.

Aurora looked at the fluffy... it was still... well... OH SO VERY FLUFFY! "Oh, I've been alright." No point going into it, she had come down to show off, not to cry about her problems. "Yeah, classes have been good thanks. And I learnt to heal pixie bites." she grinned cheekily. That had been an awesome lesson...

Aurora looked at The Fluffy again. "Sorry, Mr Fluffy, no lizard today." she said. "Professor," she addressed Prof. Bentley this time. "I wanted to show you something. I thought you might like it... and I wondered if you could answer I question about it too..." she started, looking down at the rose and the potion.

Zhenya smiled thinking of the Alps.

"Have you been to Russia before Professor? I used to spend a lot of my childhood there and it was really nice. Do you think you would like to visit every country eventually? I think I would like to. There is so much culture I want to experience. My father used to get to travel the world through his old job and he has so many stories about his wonderful visits and stays with Wizarding families all throughout the world. Did you get to spend much time with Witches and Wizards around the world?"

Seren smiled brightly, healing pixie bites was a useful skill to have. She would know. "Well I'm glad things are going well for you dear."

Patting Caltex, she held back a laugh at the mention of lizards. What a shame, though she was sure Caltex would survive without a friendly visit from a reptile. She looked up from her bundle of joy as Aurora addressed her, she was curious now.
"Of course," she said looking at the wilting rose and the potion.



Russia? Seren pursed her lips in thought. "Not yet, though its definitely on my list. I don't think I'll get around to every country, but I'd like to visit most." There just wasn't enough time to go everywhere, but it wouldn't stop her from trying, so long as it didn't interfere in her line of work.

"I did indeed. I studied and worked with some very tallented herbologists whilst on my trips. Though I did meet other witches and wizards whilst on my trips. It's always nice having the opportunity to meet new people."

"Did you know of anyone before you went on your trip, or did you just have faith that you would meet people? I definitely get very nervous about meeting new people - but I think it would be a marvellous experience. Not planning your next move - but just taking the leap into the unknown. One day I want to live on the edge a bit, just for a little while," she said, still slightly scared of the thought.

"Do you have any siblings?" she asked.

Penny walked over the threshold and greeted Professor Bentley "Good day Professor", then smiling slightly she added "Did you enjoy your dance lessons?"..

Shuffling her feet for a few seconds, then she decided that she was being stupid and she should just come out with it..

"Uhm, Professor, back at the beginning of term, we talked and you said that you would show me how to cultivate a Mimbulus Mimbletonia after first lesson was over..... I was wondering when would be a good time for you to begin?..... My plant, 'Hedwig' is growing nicely", she finished, taking 'Hedwig' from her bag to show the Herbology Professor.

Also removing a little box, "And I thought maybe we could have some tea & cookies while I take notes., Penny added hopefully.

Aurora's eyes glinted slightly as she flicked the stopper from the little phial. A tangy blueberry smell wafted from it. "I've spent ages trying to fuse these two potions and I finally did it and I wanted to show it to you." She slit the bottom of the flower's stalk with her thumbnail and dipped it into the potion. "It'll take about forty seconds." she said, not taking her eyes from it. A blue colour spread up from the bottom of the stalk, slowly reaching the petals, then it quickly spread through to the ends of the petals. As the colour seeped into every crevice the flower began to look healthier and healthier until it was in full bloom. "Look!" she squeaked. The flower was currently blue, but it would change colour every couple of minutes. She held it to Professor Bentley to see... she also had a question about it...
