When Stella started speaking, Matt couldn't help but realize that things weren't going to be fine with them for a long time and this was the very time that he wanted nothing more than to just have a time turner so that he could have prevented this whole situation with the hate potion but at least having this conversation was somewhat of a start even if it was just awkward. "Well, one of the reasons I owled you about meeting me here was because I wanted to apologize for what I said; I hated seeing you cry. Honestly.. what that potion did to me, I never want it to happen again merely since I don't want to ever hurt anyone like that with saying such ridiculous things. I understand that might not be an excuse but.. it's the truth." Before he could bring himself to say anything else, he thought about exactly what she had said since it raised some questions but he wasn't looking to pry into her life because it was none of his business about what had happened. "The past few days have seriously been hell for me, I missed being able to talk to you about everything. Honestly as stupid as this sounds, I just missed spending time with you since I really do like you." Now might not have been the time for that admission but it seemed as though he couldn't stop talking which was fine cause sometime she needed to know exactly what he felt for her even if didn't amount to anything.

After she commented on the bracelet that he had been wearing, he couldn't help but feel the slightest bit odd that it happened to be a certain pair of colours; apparently he hadn't noticed that when he decided to put it on but whatever. "Yeah I know, well to be specific here this looks blue and bronze but it's actually brown. Maybe I should have just worn the Slytherin looking one." That comment was purely meant to take away some of the tension from this conversation and perhaps it would actually get somewhat of a smile from his friend... or whatever they were now.

Matt hadn't even really replied to what she'd said, and that actually threw Stella some. Things were so far from being the way they used to be, especially if he didn't even acknowledge her random falling-back into speaking French. Granted, she'd corrected herself on her own, but usually he'd've reacted. It all just made her feel even guiltier, even if she had a feeling he wouldn't want her to take the guilt for the potion incident. She knew they wouldn't be here if she hadn't struggled against just taking a pygmy puff to test the potion, although he didn't know that. She nodded at what he'd said, though, biting her lip slightly as she thought about what to say back. And it all got even more complicated as his confession went on, but that gave her a bit more of an opening to speak once he'd finished. "I know," she finally replied. "You weren't in class, but the potion wouldn't have worked as well as it did if you hadn't liked me. Of course, I'd rather have just failed at brewing it in the first place, but apparently I'm not that lucky," she continued, neglecting to mention exactly how Professor Lafay had worded the description of how the potion worked. That just made her guilt over other things that much worse. "I'm sorry if I made you feel bad by crying." She wanted to at least apologize for that, if she couldn't apologize for anything else. "And I missed you too," she concluded, almost at a whisper.

At least the distraction of his bracelet was good for something. Helping her forget how some of what she'd just said could make things even weirder, if he even acknowledged them at all. "I never actually said I thought it was blue and bronze," she pointed out, the faintest of smiles creeping onto her face as a light sense of debate tried to break through. "And that would have just been too obvious." A Slytherin wearing their colors all the time. Of course, she wore a lot of blue, but it wasn't necessarily intentional, or constant. But then, part of her knew he was just trying to distract her from the awkwardness, too.

Wait.. she knew that he had liked her? Matt wasn't sure what to think about that since it was definitely interesting but it didn't exactly make this whole situation any less awkward since he couldn't help but feel like things weren't going to be the same with them merely because it wasn't like they could just forget what had happened. He didn't want to forget this because it was a learning experience so to speak, even if it resulted in some less than good results; this was not something that he wanted to go through again either way. "Honestly, what had happened here was the same side of a coin so to speak; if this potion hadn't worked then it would have been a bit frustrating but seeing as it had, we had to go through this." After he spoke, she had apologized and it caused him to frown; why did she need to apologize? If anything he was the one who should have been sorry over the fact that he was an idiot and made her cry. "Well even though I don't actually see a need for you to apologize, it's alright. And I'm sorry for saying all those things." At least there was finally an apology given, the next question was where they were going to go from here.

Oh so this was going to turn into a debate huh? He couldn't help but chuckle slightly at what she had said since even though it was true in a sense, he wasn't going to admit that. "Ah well, it seemed as though you thought this was Ravenclaw colours. That would be sorta amusing. Obvious or not, at least people would know where I stood when it came to the houses." Not that he didn't question where the Sorting Hat had put him, he didn't think that he belonged in Slytherin but certain things might have proved that opinion differently.

Even through the awkwardness and guilt she was feeling at the moment, Stella hadn't missed the fact that it seemed something she'd said had confused Matt. Or just made him think, but then that had been part of their conversations before half of the time. Even if she'd felt normal, it wasn't really something to question, and she figured he'd ask if he'd wanted to. Instead, he'd just commented on her statement about rather having the potion fail, and she shrugged. "That's true, but I dont know if dealing with this now is a good exchange for knowing I accomplished brewing a potion," she replied. She really didn't think it was even, because she'd much rather not have had to deal with her best friend here at Hogwarts suddenly feeling awkward around her again. Or more awkward then they'd been since that discussion in the library at least. Which brought her back to the thoughts about the truth about the potion, but she blinked as he'd spoken again. "Apology accepted, and I have a lot to apologize for," she corrected, not even thinking that he might question what she meant. She definitely liked knowing for sure that he hadn't meant the things he'd said, though. It made her feel like maybe they could still get back to where they'd been before this mess.

The fact her impromptu debate had gotten a laugh from him was another good sign, but she gave him an innocent look as he spoke. "I said they were interesting, but that didn't mean I was talking house colors. You chose to interpret it that way on your own," she pointed out, before smiling slightly. She didn't really understand the point in advertising that you were loyal to one House or another, anyway, and she figured bringing up the idea that he wouldn't be talking to her if he truly cared about that would bring things too close to the things they weren't trying to think about again. So she chose to not continue her angle for now. Apologies had happened, so they didn't need to bring it up again.

It seemed as though the earlier part of the conversation had gotten him rather confused, however Matt wasn't about to express what he was thinking right now since this conversation was awkward enough already and he wasn't looking to have things get even more uncomfortable. As the conversation progressed though, he couldn't help but frown at what Stella had said; was there something that she wasn't telling him here? "What do you mean you have a lot to apologize for?" Okay maybe that question might not have been needed but he couldn't help but be a little curious as to what exactly that had meant. He apparently wanted to turn this into question period since his earlier thoughts wanted to be said whether or not he wanted to say it. "I can't help but wonder this, but how is it that you knew already that I liked you?" Asking that might have caused things to be weird but he wanted to know how she knew about that, not that it was a lie or anything; he had had a crush on her for a little while but he didn't want to tell her due to what had happened last term.

Ah this was quite funny, he loved having a debate with her merely since it was usually about utter nonsense and somehow they made sense of it; which was pretty awesome. "I suppose you are right, however it was practically like you had thought that when you saw that." He chuckled a bit before rolling up the sleeves of his sweater before he figured out exactly if there was a need to say anything else. "I have a question, how is it that we can logically justify having a debate over something so trivial?" That was not the question he wanted to ask but apparently it just slipped out and he wasn't about to take that back.

Once again, it seemed like Matt either wasn't willing to actually respond to what she'd said, or she was confusing him all over again. Either way, it was starting to confuse Stella herself, and that just made her feel even more awkward, and the fact that he'd actually frowned bothered her even more. She hadn't thought she'd said anything that should have resulted in that. She shrugged again at his question, though. "Well, you wouldn't have felt obligated to take the potion if it wasn't for me. And then I also hadn't given you an answer about other things, which makes me feel worse about making you take the potion for me," she tried to explain, feeling like even that really wasn't adequate for the situation. Either that, or she wasn't being as eloquent as usual. Something was off, that's all she knew for sure, even though she was relieved they were talking again. Even though she'd been the one to ask for time. Her eyes widened as he spoke again, however, not really expecting the question or knowing exactly how to answer and not feel like an idiot. "Um, the potion?," she responded, trying desperately not to blush as she realized how close things were to getting really strange. "Plus, I don't think you would have asked me on a date if you didn't like me." That shouldn't have been so hard to say, seeing as she'd already sort of mentioned it before, but it was. She still hadn't really gotten to the scary part of the potion response, either, but they didn't need that right now.

The random debate about his choice in accessories was a good distraction, at least, and his statement got another faint grin from her. "I wasn't aware you were a legilimens," she replied in amusement. He was the one who was trying to say he knew what she'd been thinking, after all. She wasn't about to admit that there had been the tiniest thought that the bracelet was almost Ravenclaw colors. She hadn't said it before, so she didn't have to now. And her grin grew a little as it seemed like he was starting to settle in for an involved debate, even as she idly twisted her fingers through the chain of her necklace. Only to laugh as he asked yet another question. "It's a distraction?," she offered. "I don't know why we need to justify random discussions, but I think that's the best I can offer right now." And at least she hadn't reverted to French again.

It pretty much seemed like everything that wanted to be said about what happened with the whole hate potion situation had been said which was perfectly fine with Matt since it gave him the chance to consider really where to go from here since that really was something that had been frustrating, from his perspective it seemed as though that there was no question about at least going back to be friends for the time being since he wasn't expecting her to just forget everything that happened so they could go out on a date. "Well, I never actually felt obligated to take the potion for you since it was more like I was willing to help but you know what? Let's just stop talking about this because honestly all we're going to do is make things incredibly awkward between us which really is not something I'd like to have to deal with." He just wanted to try to move past all this and still have Stella in his life one way or another, but he wasn't about to exactly go back to the earlier topics since he hadn't felt the need to start repeating things that had already been discussed and solved. Wait.. was she blushing? Well maybe not entirely but he swore he saw a slight pink tinge on her cheeks which was pretty cute. "Oh right.. that is true and even though I happened to ask at one of the strangest times, the offer still remains for you to consider." Obviously he wasn't about to take that back since that would be pretty much one of the stupidest things he had ever done.

This whole debate, discussion.. whatever you wanted to call it had been hilarious since it was over one of the most ridiculous topics he ever discussed but at least it took the tension away from the earlier conversation which was perfectly fine with him. "Nah, I was just playing around. Even though being a legilimens would be pretty interesting." At least that was his opinion which might have been a little weird but it was all amusing in the end. Before he could speak, he considered the point that she just brought up; it was quite brilliant but again that wasn't surprising since she was one of the smartest people that he knew at least at Hogwarts. "Well we don't have to, I mean it's pretty unnecessary to try to justify something that is rather strange." Well it wasn't strange per say, it was more random.

Apparently, even though she desperately wanted the topic of what had happened with the hate potion to end, Stella was finding it hard to not keep bringing it up, even indirectly. In fact, she wouldn't have blamed Matt if he just decided to stop the conversation altogether, but instead it seemed like he simply wanted to correct her latest statement, and she turned slightly more pink at the inference that she was wrong. Wanting to help her out seemed like feeling obligated to her, but before she could say that, and possibly dig the hole even deeper, he decided to officially declare that part of the discussion ended. And she let out a breath she hadn't known she'd been holding. "That sounds good to me." She couldn't move past it if she couldn't stop bringing it up, after all, and she wanted it over with. He'd been rather quiet as she'd mentioned the potion as an answer to how she'd known he'd liked her, however, which only made her more nervous until he chose to not really address that. Thankfully, even though the other part didn't make her feel much better. "It wasn't really that strange a time," she argued quietly, trying to avoid apologizing yet again for not having given him an answer yet. At this point it might have to wait until after the holidays anyway, but maybe she could at least ease her guilt a little. "Will it help if I said I'm not against the idea?" She wasn't, either, but perhaps they should let things get more back to normal first.

The amusing discussion was definitely a step in the right direction. Toward normalcy, at least, and she smiled again as he'd responded to her teasing. "I don't know if I'd want to be able to get into people's heads," she mused at his words. "Besides, that would take the fun out of asking questions." Like it seemed they were proving to be good at, at least between themselves. And as he'd lapsed into thought, her fingers wound even more through the chain of her necklace before relaxing as he spoke again. "So we'll just leave it as a random distraction, then." Seemed like a good plan to her, especially as she still couldn't come up with a better reason.

Well at least the topic that caused so much awkwardness between them had been over and done with so they could just talk about really anything else that been bothering them, Matt wasn't sure exactly what there was left to say without coming up with some random topic that really hadn't made much sense. Before he could think of anything else though, he listened to what she had to say about the whole date offer which kind of remained unanswered for the past little while but certain events kind of just took the focus away from that thought. "It does, at least it's better than a flat out rejection honestly." Which was true, he just wanted to know exactly what was going to happen but apparently it was going to have to wait until probably after the holidays which was fine.

This definitely had to have been one of the most hilarious debates that he was involved in to date, it had taken the spotlight away from whatever awkwardness remained from the earlier conversation which was good. "Well it could be a little weird at times, it's like.. there's some things you don't want to actually be able to know." In his case, that would have been anything that his cousin had thought about since she wasn't exactly one of those people to not consider anything that's not about getting back at someone for some reason. "Totally, I think a couple reasons here have basically made me reconsider my earlier thought on how cool it would be to be a legilimens which is alright. I'd rather be just a normal wizard." Well.. depending on what your definition of normal was, it really was one of those terms used quite loosely without people understanding what it meant.

Even though they'd both agreed that the topic of the evil potions homework was concluded, Stella couldn't particularly come up with a topic to replace it. The memories were still there in her rmind, and preventing her from thinking about anything else long enough to mention it. She had no way of knowing if Matt was having the same problem, but even if he was, his experience wasn't exactly the same as hers. Proven by the fact he hadn't seen any reason for her to have apologized as well. At least they had the minor discussion about what had happened in the library, even if she had a feeling that wouldn't go very far right now either. "Why would you think I would reject you?," she asked as he'd spoken, curious about what he'd inadvertently admitted. At least, in her mind that was what had happened, and considering she felt like she'd inadvertently mentioned a few things since they'd been talking again, she didn't mind. of course, what she really wanted to ask was if he'd actually expected her to reject him, but she didn't think they were back to normal enough to risk that.

The random discussion about whether or not he'd been wearing close to Ravenclaw colors was a good step towards normal, though, although even that seemed not to have lasted very long. Instead, it seemed they'd segued into a discussion about the merits and otherwise of legilimency, which was just as amusing, really. "I think a true legilimens can control what they hear, who they use their ability on," she mused, "But that's also very true. Not every thought or memory might be something one wants to eavesdrop on." She knew of several people she'd rather not know what they were thinking, but luckily they were all in France. She didn't need to worry about them anymore. Another thing Matt had said made her think, however. "Do you think there's really such a thing as a normal wizard?" Maybe he was just referring to those who didn't have all the special abilities, but even then, she'd rather not necessarily be normal. At least not the traditional definition.

Well this new topic really had seemed to bring memories of what had happened the previous term that was not something he wanted to have come back since it was a challenge enough to deal with the first time but Matt knew that one day he had to tell Stella that story so she could understand exactly why the mere idea of having a crush on someone sent him into a bad mood. But he didn't think that that time was now only because of the fact they just finished an awkward subject already and this would have probably just made things worse. Though at the same time, maybe it would have been sorta good to just say it so it wasn't about to bother him any more than it already had. Oh the contradictions, they just made everything that more difficult. "Well, to answer that. I have to tell you a little story about something that had happened to me last term which was my OWL year. During that summer, I was hanging around Diagon Alley with Raven of course since she had to escort me again and I ended up running into TJ who seemed to enjoy annoying me the term before but anyways.. she preceded to tell me that she liked me and that right there was the start of our relationship. Things had been good for awhile, I thought that it would be one of those that lasted for awhile but I was wrong.. that October, she seemed to lose all interest in spending any time with me which wasn't concerning since I knew she was busy so I had gone outside to find her." Before he could finish this little story, he sighed ever so slightly since this next part was really the hardest part to talk about but he knew that he had to finish it so it actually made some sense. "I found that she was with someone else, no consideration for the fact that we were still together; she tried to apologize but understandably I wasn't going to listen. I was hurt. So, thanks to what had happened there.. I can't ask someone out without the immediate thought that it was never going to happen." There, she knew the truth even if it brought about some sort of strange feeling; it would have been worth it in the end.

Between the topics of random accessories and legilimency, he wasn't sure exactly what was more amusing but at least it made him distracted from what he had just said since it was rather interesting and kind of sad; his attention immediately returned as she started speaking again. Huh, that did make a lot of sense but it didn't seem to make the idea of it any less odd to him. "Ah right, see I never considered that." That thought was quickly forgotten as a new question had been brought up, it seemed like this was about to turn into a really interesting comment. "Hmm, well depending on your sense of the word; I do believe there is since not every wizard has some other power that is clearly making them different." Well it wasn't exactly how he wanted to word that but it was said and therefore he wasn't taking it back since it wasn't rude or anything of that sort.

Bored, thats what Katelyn was, she had nothing to do, she couldn't find any friends around so she came to check out the hourglasses to see which house was winning because that was so much fun, not really. Luckily she found that the best house ever was winning, Slytherin, she felt like she belonged in this house, most of her friends are in this house so they would always stay up late and have fun.

Katie sighed and became bored again, where were her friends when she needed them?

Yeah, Sammy wasn't happy with the weather. Or her book. Stupid Lydia. So what was she doing? Looking for a nice place to read her book, which didn't explain at all why she was in the Great Hall. But she did have an explanation for being there, she had heard rumors. Horrible rumors. That Hufflepuff was losing. But who did she see up there? None other than her sister who was a much better sister than Lydia was to Jane. Noticing that Slytherin was at the top she walked up behind Katie and said. "Don't get used to it, we kick butt in Quidditch" rather smugly with a grin. Because she was the reason behind their success, she was loud so they won. Duh.

Katie was a smart girl, yes, she did jump a little when she heard a voice talking to her without her knowing, but she could tell by the voice that it was in fact her sister, "Yeah well don't get used to that, because.... because I said so" Katie smirked, okay, so Katie couldn't think of a good comeback so she just said something random and hopefully it would work.

Katie then quickly gave her sister a hug, it was nice to see her sister, and she was hoping for a friend, because her sister was one of her closest friends. Katie then asked "Could I have some advice, well, sort of advice, actually I'm not sure, about something please? Its really weird though, but I'm just wondering and I want to know what you think...."

Brilliant comeback Katie. Honestly could not have thought of a better one myself. But it Sammy genuinely had nothing to say back, because, well, what could you say to that? WAIT. Brainpop. Sammy knew what to do. "But I said that Hufflepuff would win, so it will because I'm older and taller" she said, still smiling, in a matter-of-fact tone, giving the girl a pat on the head. Yeah, Sammy was enjoying her newly gained inch of height. Everyone should no that.

WOAH. A hug? WHY? Not that Sammy didn't like hugs, she loved them. But unexpected ones always freaked her out a little bit, made her worry. But she hugged her sister back all the same, it's her sister for Pete's sake. Advice? She didn't give advice very often, that was exciting. Sort of. "I 'spose so, what's on your mind?" she asked, getting a little suspicious. Katie hadn't asked her for advice before except for some time where something was wrong, or something.

Katie stared at Sammy for a moment, thinking of a comeback, then it came to her, hopefully this was a good one though, "But there are taller and older people then you in Slytherin, and they would tell you that Slytherin shall win" Katie smiled, beat that Sammy!

"Don't think this is random, because I know it is but I just need your help on this question, okay?" Katie talked away, but then she decided to be quiet and get to the subject and ask the question, "I want to get into music, but I'm not sure, like, I want to learn how to play an instrument, any really, well, nearly any and I was wondering if you think I should or shouldn't" Katie explained

Not fair! She brought other people into this! Noooooooooo! But Sammy knew again what to do "but Hufflepuff has me, Slytherin does not she said, crossing her arms across her chest. Nothing could beat that, besides she had Amy too, Slytherin had Everett which wasn't much of a gain unless you liked curly haired people who don't watch Doctor Who like Amy

That's it? Seriously? Sammy thought it was gonna be something good, some goss or something which would let her be a protective older sister, which was fun for her. "if you want to try it, why are you holding back?" she asked, it seemed. Little silly to Sammy. Like how Sammy liked singing obnoxiously loudly, she sucked at it but she enjoyed it. "I make Doctor Who references around people who have no idea what Doctor Who is and they give me odd looks, but does that stop me?" she asked rhetorically "no, I honestly couldn't care less if they understood it or not" she said smiling. Using doctor who on everyday situations for the win!

"But Slytherin has me, and clearly that makes them extra awesome" Katie giggled, she couldn't help but start thinking, all her family has been in Slytherin pretty much, but Sammy got sorted into Hufflepuff, maybe it was because she was raised with a different family, or she is a true Hufflepuff at heart.

Katie smiled, Sammy's advice was brilliant, "Thanks Sammy, that helps me alot, but just wondering, I want to know your opinion, what instrument do you think I should learn to play? Its just there are so many and they are all pretty much amazing" Katie said just thinking of all the instruments, each one was unique in there very own way, sort of like people actually.

But Sammy was older and taller, so she was awesomer D: Therefore, Hufflepuff was gonna win, 'twas obvious. "But the Doctor likes me so he'll make Hufflepuff win" she said, the Doctor was real. A NO ONE beats the Doctor, simply impossible. You can't beat a 900 year old time lord who likes bowties.

What instrument? Shouldn't she have already thought about it? Like that one time Sammy learnt how to play ukulele just because she liked saying ukulele. Simple. "Um. I'd say violin but apparently that takes yonks to learn how to play a few notes, so not that. So. Um... I think..." she began, stroking her chin as she thought. You needed to stroke your chin whilst thinking, because it actually helped you think. Fo sho. "Piano or guitar. Or both, I dunno." she said with a shrug. She loved the sound of a piano, but a guitar was a lot easier to cart around and still sounded good. And plus once you learnt how to play, say, acoustic guitar it wouldn't be too hard to move onto electric if Katie felt like doing that

That was one of the worst comebacks of Sammy's in Katie's opinion, but it was still going to be hard for a comeback, "Yeah well Chase likes me, and he was in Slytherin, so snap!" Katie said, she didn't know why she had just brought her cousin into it, but oh well, and besides, Chase hated Katie anyway, and Katie hated him, but they still loved eachother in a family way.

"I was thinking guitar, but I wanted to know what you thought anyway, do you play any instruments?" Katie asked, if Sammy did, she had never been told about it, or she has been told and she has forgotton.

Seriously? That was her comeback. Nothing beats the Doctor. And if anything did, Chase wouldn't be the thing the did. "Chase is like old gum stuck to the Doctor's shoe. No one beats the Doctor." she said simply, crossing her arms in a rather smug manner. She was awesome. And the Doctor would like her and Amy more than Katie, so they would obvs win the cup.

"I can play ukulele if that counts" she said with a shrug. "I only learnt 'cause I liked the idea of being able to say 'I can play the ukulele'" she said, and why did she need any other reason. UKULELES ARE AWESOME. And there were plenty of songs that she could learn how to play on ukulele that were about Doctor Who, her personal favourite being 'Song about River Song' by stopitsgingertime on youtube *classy Sammy is classy*

Kennedy yawned as he walked down the corridor. He was sleepy, hungry, and tired, but he didn't want to go to bed just yet. He had too many things swimming around in his head to rest. So, instead he had decided that a small walk would be enough to distract him. He looked down at his robe's pocket when he felt something move inside it and then a small smile spread on his face.

It was Puff. Yeah, he still hasn't found a proper name for the Pygmy Puff. So Puff will suffice for now.

He took the purple fluffy creature out of his pocket and placed it on his shoulder, that's when something else caught his attention. The hourglasses. Wooooot! The green was the one with the most gemstones. Kennedy walked near it and grinned a bit wider. Slytherin was on tooooop.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, haaaa, haaaaaa!

Victoria walked over to the hourglass to check on the house points. Slytherin better be in first place...if the...YAY! It looked as if the emeralds have piled up the most. Ha! Beat that lions and eagles, and what was that house's animal again? A ferret or something?

She turned around and was about to leave when she saw the most adorable thing!! THAT PURPLE PYGME PUFF!! Victoria couldn't help but walked to the boy with the pygme puff. "That is the most adorable pygme puff I've ever seen! And it's purple!" said Victoria as she stroked the pygme puff's soft, purple fur.

Kennedy was about to turn around when he heard a voice and he knew it was directed at him...well, more likely at the Pygmy Puff that was currently resting on his shoulder. "U-Um, t-thanks," Kennedy said, his cheeks turning bright red.

All the while, the Pygmy Puff was enjoying the girl petting her and squeaked in delight. She liked people petting her softly.

Kennedy looked over at the Puff and grinned. "I thinks she likes that." Of course it did. Puff loves attention.

The Pygmy Puff squeaked again and jumped off Kennedy's shoulder to the girl. She liked this one, she was nice.

Victoria can tell that the little pygme puff was enjoying herself. She stroked her even more. "I didn't know they had it in purple!" exclaimed Victoria. It would be super awesome though, if they had in house colors. Then Victoria would definitely buy the green one. :evillaugh
