Adam was staring at the mother thestral who had started to walk towards them, not in a menacing way, but more in a curious kind of way. She seemed to want a little bit of attention herself, but she wasn't sure that she wanted to take it away from her babies. Adam gave a little nod of agreement to Louisa's statement..."I suppose they live peaceful lives though since most people don't want to approach them...or can't see them to approach them."

Adam gave the mother an encouraging smile, but she stayed where she was, eyeing them in that way of hers. "The mother has moved closer," Adam said to Louisa so she would understand why he kept smiling like that. "She doesn't seem to want us to touch her though...she's just...curious?" Adam proposed. Surely the creature was allowed to be curious about the strange people that were petting her children, right? Even if they had brought food with them...maternal instinct he supposed.

When Louisa mentioned the House Elves closing the kitchen Adam turned to look at her. "Oh...do we know why they closed it?" Adam asked. For some reason his first thought went to revolt or strike, and that was probably because he had been reading about giving House Elves rights in this Magical Creatures book he was reading. "Are they revolting or something?" Adam hoped not, mainly because if they did revolt how would they get food, and also because revolts and strikes could sometimes turn ugly.

Adam chuckled slightly..."Well if there's a place that's completely filled with happy people that have never seen death or anything miserable, I think that might be where I'd like to go!" Of course being surrounded by people who were only ever happy had its downsides too...after all sometimes you just needed to get angry and needed to feel something other than happy. "Although it's good to have a bit of a balance of all the emotions..."

Adam was slightly surprised that Louisa had been agreeing strongly with his idea. "They probably are really expensive," Adam said with a little nod of the head. "Although maybe you could borrow them or rent them...you know, like books?" It seemed like a plausible thing, right? Surely not everyone wanted to spend the money to buy their own, so surely someone had thought of a pensieve renting location or something...right? As to the extracting the memory thing Adam furrowed his brows slightly. "I'm not exactly sure, but I'm positive there must be a book on it in the library, right?"

Good! Rafe didn't want to hear her yapping the whole time anyways. And he certainly wasn't going to let her walk in front of him the whole way, like she was superior or something. He jogged up right next to her, then slowed his pace slightly to meet hers. He looked up at the sky. He found it particularly odd that Jasper would request their presence on the night of a full moon. He wondered if Tala would even be there.

He could sense his eyes had already changed and were pitch black. Not that that really mattered his eyes were covered by his aviators and his belly was full of wolfsbane. This wasn't the best night to test his mood swings. But, just thinking of his mood swings, made him more furious with the blonde next to him, which made him quicken his pace and walk slightly more ahead of Marilyn now.

Marilyn tried her best not to be hyper aware of Rafe...but she seemed to feel every movement he made. The fact that he was still furious did not escape her notice. His posture was all wrong...and his breathing strange.

Not that she cared...Nope, she did not. They were done. DONE!

He moved to walk ahead of her and Marilyn rolled her eyes behind her glasses. Seriously? If he wanted to walk ahead...whatever. Ugh, he was such a stupid man. No, boy...MAN.

Sighing, she withdrew her wand from her wrist holster and turned on her right foot, disappearing.

Louisa chuckled bitterly, "Yeah...I'd rather live invisible. You know, let specific people see me only." That was... sad. She shrugged and continued, "I guess I'm being too dramatic these few days. Sorry." She gave an apologetic smile.

As the mother moved closer, like Adam had explained, Louisa's smile widened and she looked at the empty space where Adam was staring. "She's probably worried about her children." Unlike Louisa's mother.. or Adam's. "Who knew deathly creatures could have stronger feelings that humans." Her tone was bitter, again.

Back to the happy place thing, she smiled sadly at him. "I know. We all would've lived there." Balanced emotions were not the thing she wanted at the moment, though. She'd rather go in a happy place than figuring out her own complicated emotions. "Maybe you're right. At least we can dream about it." As desperate as that sounded it was true.

Louisa shook her head, "I don't know anything about Pensieves. We study that in fifth year, I guess. I've never read a book about them, either." She stretched a hand, blindly, trying to feel any of the Thestrals. "I suppose it can be rented. If it's expensive and not many people could afford it, there must be another way of getting one." Which was renting. "And I think memory charms are in seventhh year schoolbooks. We should check it out."

Louisa finally sensed something and she kept her hand there until the Thestral went still, she started patting it. "I don't know about the house elves, though. And I don't know how students were prevented from getting any closer. Do you want to go and check it out after we feed those?" That'd be cool with her.

Rafe noticed she began to take off. "Really?!" he called out. Like he was really going to let her get away with that. Which was why he was prepared. His first thought was to fly after all and he packed his broom in his pocket using the Undetectable Extension Charm. He stopped and dug around for it, pulled it out and began flying in her direction.

It didn't take long before he caught up with her, but he didn't make his whereabouts known and comfortably hovered quite a distance above her and decided he would let her take the lead with far more effort as he glided along.

Adam stared at the thestral in front of him. In a lot of ways Adam had lived his life invisibly...his parents never noticed him, he never stayed at schools long enough to get to know people so he sort of just blended in..."I think it can more peaceful that way," Adam said with a little nod. "I feel like until recently I've been invisible my entire life."

Adam put his hand on Louisa's shoulder and gave it a little squeeze. "How are things going with...um...you know..." Adam asked, not wanting to bring up a sore subject, but figuring that he should at least offer her the option to chat if she wanted it. Adam after all was here for her, and he knew that the situation was still hurting her in a lot of ways...even if she had become kind of closed off about the whole thing. "And don't apologize for telling me how you feel...it's what friends are supposed to do," Adam said, giving her a little sideways smile.

He looked back at the mother who was still cuddling with her baby and smiled. "I think it's because they are much simpler creatures than we are, you know? They just have those primitive instincts that allow them to love unconditionally no matter what....I just humans have a harder time doing that." Adam was pretty sure his parents had one love, and that was their job, and maybe occasionally they managed to love one another, but they certainly didn't love him. "We'll just make our own happy place," Adam said with a little nod. "Right here with the thestrals seems happy enough, so whenever we're feeling down we can just come here." Yeah...that sounded like a good idea to Adam. After all, the thestrals seemed happy enough, so why not make this their happy place?

"Well if there's a book in the library we'll find it," Adam said, the whole thing making him excited. "In fact, I was there the other day and I saw a book called Ancient and Mystical Artifacts that might have something on them...I'll check it out and let you know what I find...or you could come with me if you'd like?" Louisa did love books just as much as Adam did, so he wouldn't be surprised if she wanted to join him.

Adam furrowed his brows slightly. "Well I think it's worth going to look," Adam said with a little nod of the head. "This guy is finished with his apple and it looks like the mother is heading back into the woods, so we can go now if you'd like?"

Carter groaned. Yeah... he knew all about overacting girls. Just like the one right in front of him. "Mina. Why in Merlin's name would you think it would be a better idea for you to take the blame instead of me?" Especially because his sister was his problem.

"I know exactly what she thinks. I probably know more about what she thinks than she'd like me to. " And then she went off overreacting and spinning his words. "How I feel about her doesn't necessarily translate to ministry rules..." or muggle laws. And that was the point that he was trying to make. Not that Anya would never be as close to him a blood sister would be.

"My friends? Who are you talking about Mina? Josh? Patroclus? Who?" Because those were the friends that he had good laughs with. Those were the friends he was with the most. Them, and Rafe. But Rafe was always way too obsessed with Marilyn to talk of much else...

Her brothers laugh at girls? Destiny was the only person he ever thought did laughable things. But even then he'd be one of the first to throw a punch if he heard someone laugh at her.

"I don't know Mina. Maybe?" he said throwing his hands up in frustration. Did it really matter if he just told her about his whole summer all at once? When they got back to school? He wanted to talk to her the first time he saw her on the platform.

Then he stopped short. "What do you mean that they can't see?" he asked. "Isn't it like Diagon Alley? And the platform?" As in, if the muggles knew it existed, they'd be able to see it. "Besides, we weren't in Puddlemere... we were in Puddletown." Which was as muggle as it came. Although... Anya did seem particularly interested in the looking in the direction of his pitch with her binoculars.

"Did you give me a chance to explain? No. You ignored me and talked to my sister as if you two were the best friends." And not us. He knew everyone loved his little sister, but still... it hurt just a bit that they were much more concerned with her and not him.

"Would you really have been pleased had I sent you a post?" No. She would have yelled at him for something else. (Like not telling her in person.)

Lack of effort? Really? What was this? He came out here looking for her. He was prepared to wait on a rock for hours for her. In fact... he very well may have. He didn't keep track of the time he'd been out here.

Carter groaned and threw up his hands in the air again. "Fine Mina. Fine. You want to know everything. Fine. You're completely right. I'm incapable of being alone for a few months. I missed Caroline so I invited Marilyn." And now he was the one overreacting and saying stupid things.

He should really just tell her the whole truth. The whole truth. But that wasn't something that he could do. Not without telling her more than Marilyn would ever want her to know.

"So, you're taking Marie's side of it then? That I purposefully snogged Destiny in front of her? That I fell for her best friend?" Merlin. What was wrong with the women in his life? Was Mina right? Were they not the best friends he thought they were? Really! She was making him out to be some kind of serial heartbreaker! What happened there was not his fault.

. . .

That sounded an awful lot like she wanted him to choose...

"Of course I didn't know how you felt! You think I would have done those things had I known?" Again. She was making him out to be a horrible person. "How was I supposed to know that you were ever interested in me?" Because if she did... who knows... maybe neither of them would have ended up here...

Did she really feel that way about herself? ...Now would probably be a bad time to tell her there was no reason to feel that way... that she was a beautiful, intelligent girl. She just wasn't his beautiful intelligent girl. He just had never thought about her that way. She knew him too well.

She was walking away again. He followed after her. So... that was it then? She was going to go?

He blinked. What was he supposed to do?

And only one thing came to mind... "Mina. All those things... " He thought a minute about how he was going to phrase this without it sounding... well... like it was probably going to sound despite however long and hard the thought about it... "You do love Evan right...?" That whole relationship hadn't started because he was idiot, right?

Because that might turn this conversation from being overwhelming... to being one that he straight up couldn't handle...

Mina was pretty much fluming at this point. She was willing to be the martyr for him, but obviously he didn't see it. "Well obviously, you had too much to lose by telling her and I didn't care if I got in trouble. I'm a big girl and if I wanted to tell someone about all this, I could and I would have been up for the punishment." She turned seventeen before him anyway and Anya did deserve to know the truth. Yes, there were things that she wouldn't understand about Carter's family and all, but she wanted to make it easier for them. Always trying to put others before her once again.

"Do you even know how hurt she is right now or how much it hurt to find out that she wasn't worth knowing the truth? Yeah, you didn't intend on hurting her like that, but you know what? It happened and in her eyes, you just didn't trust her." She vaguely knew the feeling that not being worth the true did to her and if she was the little girl, she would have been beside herself as well. "I highly doubt there is a clause about family, blood or non. We aren't supposed to tell the outside world about our world, but we can have our closest family know. I'm sure that would include Anya, she's your sister and all." Seriously, it wasn't like they specified that siblings needed to be completely blood-related or something.

"I'll have you know that if Josh or Patroclus ever laughed at me, I would have hexed them. They are actually friends of mine. Which I can't say about some of the other company you seem to like to keep!" Yes, they had different friends and ran in slightly different circles at time; but the company she kept wasn’t as nasty as some he kept. She had always thought he was a great judge of character, but once again she was very wrong. "Playing dumb is very unbecoming of you, you know. I know that some people you call your friends have said very mean and spiteful things about me, but you never defended me. None of my friends would ever speak ill of you, but obviously you can't say the same about people you call friends." She didn't expect to be liked by everyone, but she respected everyone she knew and expected the same back.

"You know we used to write each other every summer, but all of a sudden it just stopped. I never questioned it, but maybe I just didn't want to acknowledge that maybe we are just growing apart more and more each year." It was sad, but things between them hadn't been the same for a long time. She had hoped that they would go back to where they once were as friends, but that was just wishful thinking on her part. Their second and third year had done a lot of damage to what their friendship once was.

"Everyone knows that Puddlemere doesn't exist in the muggle world." There was no such place and even if muggles knew about, it wasn't like they would go there. "No, Puddlemere is completely magical. There is nothing muggle about it, unlike Diagon Alley and the platform. They are magical, but in the middle of the muggle world." Puddlemere was just itself and wasn't in the middle of something muggle. There wasn't a magical part and a muggle part. It was just Puddlemere. "It doesn't matter. Anya still saw the goals! Don't you think it's strange that she could see them?" No one non-magical would be able to see that even if they were in just Puddletown.

"Of course, I did! You had your chance to write me, but you chose to not do that. I said hi, but I owed it to Anya to talk to her, since I WAS NOT allowed to see her over the summer." Seriously, she didn't completely ignore him. She did say hello before he went off. "Don't even act like you didn't want to get away and see Marilyn again." In all the years they travelled back to school, she couldn't remember a time that he ever sat with her or spoke to her on the train. He was always too busy for her and she didn't expect him to change at all.

"YES! I would have loved to have gotten something. You haven't written me in years! I never got a letter from you whilst I was at Beauxbatons either. You sure know how to make a girl feel wanted, don't you?" In fact, the only two people she ever heard from, outside her own family, were Evan and Marie. She never thought it was possible for her own best friend to forget about her, but again another thing that she wrong about.

This was getting nowhere quickly and she just wanted to get away from him more and more. It was like talking to a wall. All she heard was her own voice and it didn't seem that either of them was even listening to each other. There was too much being said and none of them truly understood what was going on between them.

"I'm you bloody best friend. I'm supposed to know everything. That's what best friends do! They are supposed to be that one person outside your own blood that would ruin you with what they know, but would never do it because they wouldn't hurt you." There were things that Carter probably knew that she wouldn't allow her own family to know and she entrusted him with her secrets and she trusted that he would never use them against her. She had thought he felt the same, but again there were things he would never trust her with. It was becoming clearer and clearer to her that he just didn't trust her enough. "I KNEW IT! Well you got what you wanted, didn't you? You just keep trading one cousin in for another one, don't you?" And the knife cut deeper as she heard him say those words. She was lonely, she missed Evan; but she didn't replace him with another boy. No, she wasn't like that at all. "Well Barbie and Ken are back together, why don't we have a party! I'm sure everyone is dancing with joy about it. Forgive me, if I don't join the party." Seriously, she had nothing against most of the Slytherin girls. She was friends with a majority of the She-Snake trio, but she never take to Marilyn and she would never really take to the girl. Yes, she would be civil and polite; but it was clear that neither of them liked the other anyway.

"I'm not taking anyone's side. I say you both messed up but the damage is done forever." It was a tricky situation they were in, but it really could have been handled differently. "Carter, I don't even know what you purposefully mean to do any more. Either you have the dumbest luck to be put or pulled into terrible situations. The fates must really have it out for you or something." If she wasn't there to see it for herself, she wouldn't believe it was all really happening. "Falling for her best friend was just the thing that made it even worth. Of all the girls, it just had to be her best friend." Yes, it wasn't his fault but he didn't seem to understand how everyone else saw what was going on. "You might not have meant for it to happen or have any control at the time, but you could control what happened afterwards." He could have fought and she wished that he would fight for their friendship, but it was becoming clear it was pointless to wish for that. He wasn't going to fight and she would just make it easy on him once again.

"You have to be the BLINDEST boy I know! How could you never see how I looked at you?!?! Jayden even know how much I liked you!" She had tried to keep her affection toward her best friend under wraps, but everyone could see. Everyone, but Carter apparently. "How were you not supposed to know?!?!" Seriously, talking about it once acted to hurt her more and more. Each growing moment, she felt like she was going to spiral deeper and deeper into how unworthy she felt as is. "Do you seriously think that I would just come straight out and tell you? You think I wanted to compete with Marilyn and Marie? I'm not stupid. I've already put myself out there a long time ago and you didn't see me." Did he not remember what happened when she was on that love potion in first year. They reason she couldn't look at him after it was not because of how embarrassed she was at how she acted. No, she couldn't look him in the eye because the love potion just brought what she really felt for him to the surface.

She had spent most of her summers thinking about just what she felt for her best friend and questioning her own sanity for feeling like she did. She loved someone that would never love her back and was just asking for complete heartbreak, but she kept loving and coming back for more. The rational part of her knew that he would never see her as anything more than a friend, but she had keep up hope that it would change. She wanted it to change and she wanted her chance one day; but as each year came and went, she slowly realized that she just wasn't worthy in his eyes. Nothing she did mattered any more, she was never going to be the one he would fight for. It was clear that there was only one girl he wanted to fight for and he had her back now. There was no room for her anymore. It was just time to end it completely.

Walking a bit fast, she didn't look back at him. She wanted to be alone but he wasn't getting the message, was he? He had left her alone all summer already, but why did he even want to see her now. She wasn't worthy of attention over the summer. Why was now so different? Was she only good enough for his attention at school now? Maybe she was foolish to even think that they were really friends after all.

Getting even more distance between them, she stopped again when she heard him ask her the question. Turning around quickly, she didn't even care that he would be seeing her tears now. "Do I love Evan? Of course, I love Evan. He's everything I have ever wanted and everything that I didn't even realize I wanted!" They had their issues and their problems, but they fought to stay together. "He's not perfect and he never acted like he was. I've messed up and he's forgiven me. He's made terrible mistakes and wronged me, but he fought to earn me back. He's the type of man that I can see myself with forever. I would follow him to the end of the world and back if he asked me too. Yes, I love him!" He had been there for her in her time of need and she would never forget that. "I gave him my heart and one chance to make me happy. He nearly broke my heart, but you know why I allowed myself to fall for him? I saw a man there I could possible love forever and know I was worthy of. He never made me feel like I was his second choice." Yes, she knew about his fling with Sophie. She had heard about it, but that was the past and they had worked through it. They yelled and fought about it, but in the end they were still together. "Remember that wishing fountain? I wished for a man that would love me as much as I loved him; I never meant to fall for Evan, but I did and I'm happy I did." She hadn't even expected to her feelings that strong for her Evan, but the fates had plans for them and she fell for him after being friends. "He was there when I needed him the most and it happen. I'm not going to apologize for feeling the way I do. I fall in love with him without even knowing it and I wouldn't take that back." She loved both of them but being in love with Evan made her heart swell; but when she was in love with Carter, she only felt a sense of loneliness and heartbreak. "I allowed myself happiness because I knew that you would never be able to make me happy because you would never want me." It had to be said and she said it. He didn't want her so she found someone that did want her.

William decides to do his first part of his homework here. William tapped his head once with his wand, concentrated and called out" Felintas'" William's hair changed to short and curly. What a sight!!! Then he concentrated again, tapped his head once with the wand again and called out "Intaris" William's hair is back to blonde and medium langth.

" You could do yoru homework here" William told Ryan. " Very quiet here" William said to Ryan. " So how are you doing today?" William asked Ryan.

Justin walked up to the front gates to meet his friend Rose. He arrived just before she did. " Hey, Rose, over here! " he called to her.

Rose noticed Justin calling to her and turned around. 'JUSTIN!' She yelled, running forward and engulfing him in a hug. 'How're you?' she asked, smiling.

" I'm pretty well, thanks. You? You're looking well. I've got a bit of news... Amethyst and I are dating now. Have you met her yet? " Asked Justin.

'I'm brilliant!' Rose beamed. 'OOOOOOOOOOH! YOU ARE? I KNEW IT! I KNEW YOU TWO'D GET TOGETHER!' she said excitedly. She had known. It was easy to tell from the way he looked at her, even when... Well, yeah. 'I haven't no...' Rose told him. 'Congratulations!' she beamed.

" Yeah, well , I she caught my eye the first night ...when we got sorted. it doesn't take away the fact that I liked you as well. I mean... You're a sweet girl. And besides you were right. We make better friends anyway. You're like my funny spastic sister. " Justin joked as he began to laugh aloud. " I want you to meet her alright? And I want you to be nice to her. "

'Yes, I know! I'm glad you agree. I'm proud to be funny and spastic!' she beamed. 'Why wouldn't I be nice? I'll only give her the big sister speech! Maybe.' Rose chuckled. 'You're so lucky. My ex-boyfriend has decided to apologise for acting like a git and I don't know what to do.' Rose sighed.

" well, I know how girls can be. Plus, I knew you'd be pulling that big sister stuff with me. As far as your ex goes.. I'll have a talk with him if you like. I haven't a problem for playing little brother on him. " Justin said with a hint of authority in his voice. " He best not think of hurting you. I'll fong him. "

Rose chuckled. 'Of course I would! It's natural! When my sisters get boyfriends, I WILL do the speech too! And, naw, he's not doing any harm. He's just apologising. He wasn't nice to me after he broke up with me, as he was cheating, and he thinks I set you Puffs on him. Loving the seriousness though. Already done. Violet went for him.' Rose bit her lip. It had been quite funny. She had to admit that. 'Already done, and fonging? What's that?' she asked.

Justin started laughing at the thought of Violet going for him. "Fonging is my nice way of saying I'll beat the tar out of him. I'm small, but I'm wirey. I can hold my own. I did make the house team after all." Justin exclaimed.

'Ya, you've only met Lilly. That was the twin you saw. You'll have to meet Violet!' Rose smiled. She knew Violet and Justin ould get along, and Violet needed some more friends. 'She's been upset recently, as she was separated from us. She's in Hufflepuff too.' Rose explained. 'Ah, well, that I can believe!' Rose chuckled.

" well, I'd love to meet her. I'll have to keep my eyes open in the common room. i'll look out for her as well if you like. Afterall we're good mates. It's the lest I could do for ya." Justin said as he gave her one of his crooked half smiles.

Rose nodded. 'Ya, thank you! She's only met a few people right now...' Rose said, looking away. She felt sorry for Violet. She only had one friend, and he probably didn't count her as a friend, knowing Ashley.

" i don't know if I 've met her yet. I've met so many people. If she's anything like you and Lilly I'm sure we'll get on nicely. " Justin said as he gave Rose a nudge.
