While the original charms corridor is a few twists and turns away, the new Charms Corridor is right here and Professor Schirmer has charmed it in a thousand and one interesting ways. For starters the walls change colour if you breathe on them (or burp or sneeze or sigh or expel warm air on them in any other way). On Thursdays, you can only walk down the Charms Corridor backwards, no matter what direction you are trying to go in. Sometimes it seems like the corridor forgets to put the doors in the right place, and it feels a bit like you're walking forever and never getting anywhere. If it is a full moon, the corridor fills with an anti-gravity mist which makes it rather difficult to get from place to place unless you have mastered the art of omnidirectional floating.
There are various flying objects out of reach above your head; these are things that got lost on their way somewhere. If a student within Hogwarts banished something or summoned something but it never reached its intended destination, chances are it has found its way here and floats near the ceiling with other lost things; an eclectic collection, keeping itself company. Many of these 'en route to nowhere' things now sport cute little wings to help them stay in the air. From eight AM, and for nine minutes every morning, the Corridor seems to forget that it is a corridor, and behaves like a staircase. It feels like you're going up or down, and so you lift your legs and bend your knees, but alas, it remains a corridor. If you trip on the stone work, it says sorry. Yes, that's right, a disembodied voice comes from the stone, apologising for getting under your feet.
Of course this means that Thursday mornings from eight until nine minutes past, if it happens to be a full moon, you'll find yourself walking backwards up or down non-existent stairs whilst floating through the air with the possibility of no doors to escape through.
Sounds like the perfect opportunity to try to catch a lonely lost thing with no place to go!
This is where you'll find the mailbox, as well as the doors (sometimes) to the charms classroom and Professor Schirmer's office. If you are waiting to see her you can sit on the floor by the Charms Office door (if its there). Don't worry, you won't get piles, that patch of stone sports a rather cosy cushioning charm!

More professors had left, which meant that Arya had more new professors to meet. Best to start with the new charms professor, right? She'd only caught a few glances of the woman during the feast the other day, but was too consumed by her own thoughts and worries to consider greeting anyone up until now. Managing to somehow slip away from her kneazle, she made her way up to the third floor...
... and ran into this corridor.
What was this?
Her gaze was up at the ceiling of the corridor, and all the objects floating above her. That was an odd she'd never encountered in the castle before. But it was nothing compared to the feeling that she was walking UP. "What the..." It was a moment after realizing that she felt as if she was walking upwards, and resisting the urge to try and catch one of those items, that Arya looked down and took a couple of exaggerated steps, and then stopped. WEIRD.

It happened to be 8am on a Wednesday (thankfully) and Tori was heading upstairs to owl her daddy. She turned into the Charms corridor and started down it, munching on a piece of toast.
Suddenly, she got a distinct feeling that she was walking upstairs, even though she knew full well that she had just gotten off the stairs. Oooohohohohh what was this? Whatever it was, Tori didn't like it. She scrambled for the wall and sort of clung to it, eying the entire corridor and all the objects floating on the ceiling with suspicion.
"You there," she called out, throwing her toast's crusts at the girl ahead of her, "What did you DO to the FLOOR?"
Because obviously, she could tell from the girl's uniform that she was a Puffer, and all Puffers were Duffers who were responsible for everything bad that went wrong in the world.

"What did I do?" Arya hadn't bothered with moving from her spot in the corridor towards the wall yet, wanting to figure out whatever this magic was. A frown worked it's way across her features as she turned at the waist to look at the crust that'd just hit her in the back of her head, and then the girl that'd thrown the object. "What makes you think I did anything to the corridor?" Honestly, did she LOOK like a trouble maker?
Flicking her wrist, she drew her wand and vanished the offending crust. "And stop throwing things, it's rude." She didn't even realize this girl looks slightly familiar, too busy fussing to herself about rude snakes.

"Well obviously this is all your fault, since this corridor wasn't like this yesterday when I came through," Tori pointed out, "and since you're a Hufflepuff, it means that you're clearly up to no good. Duh."
She snickered as the crust hit its target and didn't even notice the girl's shiny badge pinned to her robes. Not that it would have mattered to someone who considered herself more important than a mere prefect. "It wasn't me. That crust must have fallen from the enchanted objects above us."
Tori lifted her foot and felt it go up another stair. Geez. "Can't you finite this spell already?!" It wasn't funny! She had places to go, people to see, things to DO!

"You have our houses mixed up." This girl was new, that much was obvious. Arya was silent for a moment, digesting the girl's first few words in attempts to analyze their situation and fathom the corridor. "When did you come through yesterday?" Maybe it wasn't always like this, and all they had to do was wait.
"I highly doubt that it fell from the ceiling and worked it's way around my head to hit the back of it." She was still frowning at the girl disapprovingly, eyes only leaving her briefly to examine the floating objects and wonder about their origins and the spell that gave them those wings.
A bit of exaggerated feet sliding, and she was facing the girl, but still standing a small distance away with her eyes now on the floor as she raised her foot to take an illusional step up and hit solid ground. "I don't know what spell this is." She was a bit irritated with the girl though her curiosity was starting to take hold of her, slowly dimming whatever feelings she was holding towards the younger snake. "What spells these are. It looks to be more than just a few by what were experiencing." Like the 'stairs' and the floating objects.

MJ had left Avis swooping happily above the grounds, and found her way to the ever-changing Charms corridor. She stood quietly at the end and waited for her Professor ; she didn't yet know any magic, so she didn't want to get mixed up with the strange looking things in the corridor.

Alyssa made her way to the Charms classroom. As she walked along the corridor, she looked up and noticed objects floating above her head out of her reach. She thought that strange but figured that since this was Hogwarts, strange could be normal here. As she turned round the corner and walked right into a wall. "Wait a minute, I know that there was a door here yesterday. Now where did it go? Did I make a wrong turn?" Alyssa looked back the way she came to see whether she had done that. "Nope, this is the right way, so where is that door?" Alyssa looked up and down the corridor but couldn't find one. Then she noticed two students arguing and that one was a Hufflepuff prefect. "Oh dear, I do hope no one hears them arguing. I don't want either of them to get into trouble," Alyssa thought to herself.

Alyssa wondered what the students were talking about. She knew about the floating objects but corridors turning into stairs? Then she remembered what her Dad had told her about looking out for things out of the ordinary and the possibility that there may be charms or spells placed on them. "I would say that things floating up in the air and people talking about 'stairs' in the corridor, definitely falls under that category," Alyssa thought to herself. "Maybe that's the reason why I can't find the door and the reason why those girls are talking about the 'stairs'."
She walked up to the students, "Hi there, I was looking for the door to the Charms classroom....which seems to have disappeared....when I overheared your conversation. I'm sorry I don't mean to pry, but I just remembered something my Dad told me once." and she explained what her Dad had warned her about. "Maybe that's what the Professor did. She must have cast a spell or charmed the corridor leading to her classroom. Maybe to make it more challenging and fun to get to her classroom. Do you think that could be a possible reason for all the stuff that's been happening in this corridor?" she asked both students. "By the way, my name is Alyssa and I'm also headed for Charms class."

"Nuh uhhh," Tori countered, sticking out her tongue when the girl's back was turned. She lifted her feet a few more times in an attempt to get closer to the girl but to no avail; the stair spell still seemed to be in effect. "Um, I came through at about 2:00 pm yesterday... why, does your wandwork wear off after a certain amount of time?"
Suspicious, wasn't she. Hmmph. "Well that's exactly what happened," Tori informed her matter-of-factly. "In fact, I spy a few more objects that might just be working their way down to hit you riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight now.........." She curled her hair around one finger and started smirking, waiting to see if the girl would fall for her bait.
"Well like I said, can't we just use Finite Incantatum?" Not that Tori had every successfully used this spell, but this girl looked older, so....

"Um well I've never been to Charms, so I really have no idea where it is," Tori snapped at the girl coming through, frustrated as she was by the stair spell. This girl seemed to be walking fine though, so Tori lifted her own foot to walk forward and was relieved to see that the spell had lifted. Awesome.
She eyed the other Hufflepuff (GREAT. Now there were two of them.) and shrugged. "I'm Princess Tori and.... yeah, I was going upstairs so........" Wasn't Charms just around the corner? Um?

Amethyst trotted the halls, with a smile on her face. She was ready for the very first class of the School year--Charms. She'd heard wonderful things about the Charms Professor. She giggled working her way into the Charms corridor. She noticed Ayra and Alyssa and waved at them at certain habit. She really didn't know where Charms was, but all she really had to do was wait for Sarah and the Professor (and the other classmates too). "How is everyone doing?" She tried striking up a conversation.

Minerva walked into a room, she had to be honest with herself. She had no idea where she was. All she knew is she was headed to charms. This was the class she was wanting to start the most. Her mother talked so much about her charms classes Minerva really hope she would like it as much as her mom.
Elodie had barely been able to eat anything at breakfast due to her stomach-twisting combination of nerves and excitement about her very first Charms lesson. Hurrying towards the Charms corridor, determined not to be late for once, she noticed a small group of students looking slightly lost and confused. "Is everyone here for the Charms lesson?" she asked, her confidence buoyed up by her high spirits.

"No," She shot the girl an annoyed glance. "I was just wondering how long this spell lasts. When it goes into effect." Who's wandwork wore off after a certain amount of time? Arya took another few steps, becoming more fascinated and perplexed with each.
Okay, so this girl wasn't that ignorable, and no amount of curiosity would make her so. Wand still in her hand, she quickly glanced up at the floating objects and sure enough, they were still floating. The frown deepened. "Lying, will get you no were in this school." Girl who.. who... didn't she see her with Bunbury at the platform?
"You said finite, there's a difference." Arya stated simply. "And I'm almost positive the new professor, whoever she is, did all of this. Removing it won't get us on her good side. Plus, my counter-charm is strong, but I don't think it's strong enough to remove all of this." She waved her wand around at all the spells, giving it a little twirl. Then she pointed it at the girl questioningly. "I saw with Professor Bunbury."

"I think the professor did this as well," She nodded her head in agreement. "Probably for entertainment." Headed to class? She was mighty early, they still had a few hours. "Nice to meet you, I'm Arya." No need to mention her prefectness, she did have a badge on her chest.

Tori said nothing at first and only waited for the other annoying Puffs to leave her and the Prefect alone. Ugh. Load of duffers. At least she got the girl's name out of the exchange.... Arya, was it. Hmmmm.
"Well evidently it's worn out now. Maybe it only happens at certain times of the day," Tori pointed out, walking right up to the prefect unhindered. "And I'm not lying."
She waited until the girl turned around and then flicked her wand at a floating sneaker, causing it to zoom straight into the back of her head. Tori quickly stowed her wand away back in its holster and put on her best innocent face, though it was nearly impossible not to start laughing.
"See? You can't say I didn't warn ya." And speaking of warning... "Yes, it's probably Professor Schirmer's handiwork. She seems like the type." Tori edged past the Huffer and down the wall a little, away from the older girl's wand.
Her eyes lit up at mention of her cousin, however, and she halted where she was. "You know Annie? I mean, she must have been Professor Bunbury back when she taught here... she's Professor Truebridge now." The ginger beamed and rocked on her heels a little. Annie was her IDOL.

"Aparently so," But what was it? She'd have to ask the professor this when she finally made it for a visit. Watching the girl walk up to her, she arched an eyebrow. She was gonna have to keep an eye on this one, wasn't she? "And I'm not a witch." The prefect refused to believe that they had another professor who had intent on harming students. Refused.
Now that she was able to walk properly, she turned from the girl and headed for the office door, or what she hoped was the office door. But the girl still had her attention, and the moment she thought she'd heard a spell being cast, she threw up a quick shield, the shoe bouncing off.
The frown deepened as she turned and vanished this shoe before glaring at the girl. "Now I'm warning you, keep throwing things at me, and I'll report you to Lafay." Because Arya wasn't able to be immature along with the girl and throw objects back. Professor Schirmer. She filed the name away, but kept her eyes and wand on this girl. Why was it always the snakes?
".... Truebridge married, Bunz?" Arya was completely baffled. She seemed... so not his type. But if he could handle dangerous creatures and crazy dark wizards, he could handle being married to her, right? Still. Shudder. "I had her in herbology my first term here." And she never called her Annie.

"Oh you're a Squib, are you? Whose wand didja steal?" The corners of Tori's mouth twitched into a smirk as she folded her arms and got comfortable against the wall. "Shouldn't you be in the kitchens, then, cooking dinner or polishing some silverware?" HEH. She really was going to acquire a Hufflepuff slave one of these days.
Oooh LAFAY. "Like I'm scared of HER," Tori snorted, lying right through her pearly white teeth. "What's she gonna do to me? Take away MORE points?" Whatever. She would earn them all back in tomorrow's Charms lesson anyway.
"Duh. He's like, absolutely smitten with her. You should SEE him." Tori was rather fond of her cousin-in-law, even if he did like boring History too. "How fascinating. I'll have to ask her what a poor student you were.... What's your name, anyway?"

"Squibs can't preform magic, I can. You should really pick up a book sometime." Reacquaint herself with the proper definitions of magical terms and houses, cause she's obviously forgotten them. "Shouldn't you be in detention for all the terrible things your probably making my badgers do?" Or trying to at least, if they weren't scared ickle firsties. "House elves work in the kitchens. Hufflepuffs live on that level." She spoke slooow, so the poor child could understand her.
She SHOULD be scared of her, everyone should have some sort of respective fear of the woman. "She'll set you on fire." Arya was probably going to regret saying that, but she needed to know what her house head was capable of. "And then your housemates will shun you for loosing these points you care so little about."
"I don't want to see him smitten with her, thanks." It was TRUEBS, and would be the most awkwardly thing every, she was certain. "Tell him I said hey though, and her." And to come back? "You can call me, Prefect. I was a great student, still am." Duh.

"Prove it," Tori shot back, definitely sticking her tongue out this time. "So? Obviously the House Elves are either dead or on strike, I mean, haven't you tasted the quality of the food lately? So I doubt a few Hufflepuff slaves can do much worse." Smirkkkkkkkkkk.
Fire. Pssh. She'd heard that rumor about Lafay and still didn't believe it. "Yeah, right. People lose points all the time. They'll never know it was me." She'd just blame any future losses on Sierra anyway.
Tori laughed out loud at the girl's expression then. "Fine, I will... but ONLY if you actually tell me your name." If her first name was 'Prefect' then Tori's really was 'Princess.'

"I've already proved it." She retorted. "If you want me to cast again, you'll have to wait until a class or catch me practicing." Because this badger didn't bend to her every will. "The house elves aren't either, they're just..." ... "Not in need of any help." Only they were. Those poor poor house elves.
This one was full of herself, reminded her of some Slytherin girls she knew. "They will if you keep acting out in public." And if she TOLD them. This girl was irritating enough to make her do something so immature.
Arya was quiet for a moment. "I'll give you my name, but you have to give me yours and still give Truebridge my message." She paused. "And stop throwing things."

Tori laughed loudly at this girl again. It wasn't a pleasant laugh either, like how she laughed around Paulie. It was a mean, harsh bark. "They're in definite need of some help, dear, I just don't know if YOU would be more of a help or a hindrance."
She pursed her lips and considered the girl before her, her hazel eyes flicking up and down her appearance before her lips curved into a glossy smirk. "I'm not acting out. Like I said, I'm only guilty of trying to warn you of all the objects flying at your head. Sue me for being so considerate." Tori shrugged dramatically.
"Just tell me your damn name," the ginger demanded, tapping her foot impatiently. "And I'll think about it."

Arya would be the biggest hindrance of them all, which was probably why she was offended by this girl's words more than she should be, 'cause she didn't know if the prefect could cook or not. "I'd say we should send you to the kitchens to see what it's like to work so hard cooking for hundreds, but you'd probably drive those poor house elves to quit." And that would be terrible. "They're just having a hard start of the term, give them a break."
Giving her wand a light twirl, she holstered it, and moved over to the wall, still keeping her eyes on the young snake as she leaned up against it. "Funny how nothing's flying towards my head now." Sigh. She hadn't even gotten rid of the pain in the butt she-snakes, and already she had another snakelette that she had to keep an eye out for.
"That's not very polite." She pointed out coolly. "You'll never get an answers out of me with such rudeness, and no agreeing to the previous terms." She could be annoying too, see?

"For your information, the elves LOVE me. I met Quirly at the feast and she was so smitten with me that she brought me WARM cookies. And they were GOOD." Never mind that Tori had kind of demanded the cookies after watching the elf attack itself... but whatever. "You give ME a break!"
Seriously, this girl was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooo ANNOYING. "Heh. Fancy that." Tori laughed again, but stopped abruptly because of the girl's demandingness.
"Okay WHATEVER. WHATEVER. I agree to your 'previous terms.'" If it would shut her up, FINE.
