Everett sat at the Slytherin House Table, glad he had gotten into this house. As he sat, he watched a lot of drama already unfolding, including some professor who he thought could easily pull off being a dragon yelling at people. Man, it wasn't even a day into the school year and points were already being lost. The fifteen-year old glanced around, looking for a possible familiar face, or someone to chat to. He didn't like looking like a loner, it made it seem like he was a loner, which he wasn't, much. If he had his guitar with his right then, he would play a funky tune, but he didn't, so he was stuck finding people to talk to.

Oh Merlin, Destiny hadn't even thought about how busy she was going to be. Not only did she have Quidditch to deal with now, she was going to be studying for her NEWT's, and she had a few plans for Carter. The boy was far too depressed for her liking. She shrugged her shoulders, stealing a glance at the badge. "I'm not going to be playing in the games." Imagine that! Especially when Gryffindor had to play against Slytherin. "Well, awesome isn't going to get you to win the Championship, is it?" Bwaha!

Eeek!

She wasn't expecting that, and she tried to pull her wrist free of Mia's yeti-like grip. Which only made it look like she was still trying to jab at her.. oops. "First off.. you don't know that for sure. You go around kissing them all the time, you don't see their real evil." Destiny had seen it. On more than one occasion. "Secondly, I cannot believe you were stabbed with a fork since you have no proof, and thirdly, you can TRY to summon all my chocolate, but you'll never get it. I know magic."

Could she have her wrist back yet? Pull, jab, jab, pull.

"Yeah. Named after a Bishop, me." Corey explained, just because Salariel here was giving him strange looks. Sal and Sal? He glanced over at the other badged one and then back at Salariel. "I'll figure out what to call you, just by letting myself call you something, without thinking about it too much." Or it'd be a THING and Corey didn't care enough to make it a thing.

Pretty? Corey looked and supposed it was true. The one with the badge, the girl one. But another thing that Corey had no interest in making a thing. He shrugged.

"Bread or something." He agreed with THAT whole heartedly. "I'm gonna be stunted! My growth and all! I need feeding!" He slumped theatrically, and leaned on the table, chin in hand.

"Hey, you think anyone else has food?" If puppy dog eyes got taffy, surely it could get other things? Especially with the grumbling stomach underscoring the eagerness for food.

He stood up, his stomach driving him.

"I'm gunna go see, you wanna come?" The question was directed to Salariel, though he flicked a glance at the badge too.

"Pleasure" Jonathan replied. Jonathan focused his eyes on the table with all the plates and all those food. What now? He just can't wait for the feast to be over so that he could go back to the common, sleep and wake up in the morning and officially go to his first class.

He can't wait to start the term with a positive mind set.

"Well if you do need help to know the who's who in Slytherin" Jonathan turned his head to find the first person he could see with a title "That is the Head Boy... Salander" he pointed out the seventh year head boy from a far. "And that is the head girl, Evelyn" he pointed his finger at her for Eris to know them. "If you need help in anything, you could ask either the two" he added.

And now for the teachers... Well what else can Jonathan say? All of them are weird in their own way. Jonathan can't further explain how they are why they are though. "That's Professor Lafay over there" he pointed at the Professor who was busy deducting Sierra and everyone house points. "Beware though" he whispered in the lowest voice this time "everyone refers to her as the Dragon Lady" with his head looking down on the food.

"Don't worry everyone gets oriented, so you shouldn't really be worried that much" Jonathan clasped his hands.

"OH!!!!!!!Sorry about that."Wow. that was embarrasing.

"Um...........Hi.Please don`t poke me,"she stiffled a yawn."My name`s Kelsey, what`s yours?"

Pausing mid-poke, Michelle realized someone was talking to her. She was another first-year, just like her!

"Hi Zhenya, my name is Michelle, first year snake," she introduced herself, holding her non-cutlery hand out for a handshake. "Zhenya..that's a nice name. Where are you from?", she asked the fellow Slytherin, of course, before turning her attention to cutlery-poking.

Dropping the fork out of surprise, Michelle almost jumped out of her seat. "Haha..hi there, sorry, couldnt resist. My name is Michelle, first year snake. Nice to meet you, Kelsey!" , Michelle giggled. "Long night, huh?"

"Well not everyone is like you Evelyn." Yeah the rest of us had feelings. And really the girl would of had to have a had a few nerves when she firt arrived here.

She was the worst liar ever! Mia appeared oblivious to a lot of things mainly because it made life easier for her but when it came to people she could read them like a book. "Yeah. But deals can be broken." And this one definitely had been broken.

And then the girl was poking at a first year. "That's kinda not what I meant Evelyn."

Poor little kid.

"But surely as Captain you would have to oversee the practices?" Destiny was doing it to her again. Bringing out her logical side. She certainly had to use it a lot over the summer that was for sure. Eh imagine the Slytherin as Captain of anything. Merlin! "We're already awesome. We don't need a championship." Duh!

That fork was getting awfully close to her eye. If she had to go to the hospital wing on her first night here, then she was going to turn Destiny's hair purple. "The elves and I talk so I do know that for sure. And duh, healing spells." Her father was very good at those. That's why she didn't have any marks on her. Which was a good thing because she had been accident prone as a child. "Wanna make a bet?" Especially if she got Evelyn to help her get the chocolate.

And just as Destiny was pulling back, Mia let go of her wrist.

After getting to know some fellow Puffs, at the Badger table, Amethyst strolled gracefully over to the Slytherin table. She wanted a diverse group of friends, and felt it nessesary to introduce herself to anyone who'd welcome her. She was a bit nervous, not all Snakes were evil, she knew this. Two of her close friends were in Slytherin. She first, looked to see if Sarah and Lana had gotten a warm welcome. She'd met another Slytherin, Angelina. She was nice like Sarah and Lana.

A Bishop? Maybe his name wasn't as out of place here as it was in every other part of the world. Salariel grinned and nodded, intrigued; most kids his age weren't worth the time or effort, but this one had a weird name and apparently a tapeworm. That made him interesting.

"'m named for a mountain. So's my pet, Gemelli."

Glancing at Miss Green Head Girl Badge, he smirked cheekily and blew her a kiss before getting up and, since he wasn't walking down to the end of the table, ducked down and waddled his way under it to get to where Corey was. He could have walked over it, but he figured that was a bad idea with the professors all milling around. Sucking up was difficult when you were already labeled "that kid who walked on the tables".

"Bet a lot of people got food left over from the train." He shoved his hands into his pockets and bounced excitedly off away from Hottie Hot Hottie Green Badge, looking this way and that for people who looked as if they'd have food, automatically assuming Corey would be right along with him too.

After all, his tapeworm needed sustenance.

Oh. So she wasn't the only one whom thought they had been wrongly sorted as well. Maybe the sorting hat was having an off day? Maybe he was going a little doolally in its old age. "I think I should have been a Hufflepuff but my brother thinks I should be a Ravenclaw. I hope they're not disappointed in me" she pouted. That would be awful. The look on their faces when Gwen told them she wasn't like them. "But I want to be a Gryffindor like my brother was. I'm not clever like my eldest brother and he was a Ravenclaw" she shook her head and pouted. Big families. She felt safer at home than she did here.

"Oh. That's nice" she smiled. She'd never had the opportunity to go there, why would she need to? Her home was her sanctuary and she loved it. "Yes. Ireland. Limerick to be exact" and it was certainly evident in her accent, you couldn't miss it.

She rarely ever went to Ireland, they spent most of their time in Germany, though sometimes her Irish accent made it through. She mentally reprimanded herself. "Wow, I have a pretty cliche pureblood family... Parents, older sister, older brother. Nothing special. Twins? I always thought twins sounded really... difficult." she said. "And my siblings are never home, I mean, my sister moved out and my brother has his own flat so it's like being an only child sometimes." she grinned, she loved having space and time alone.

Aurora nodded, "Positive. We have house elves." she said. "And they seem really happy." It was true. Especially Kittsa, and Kittsa did the most for the family. She finished cleaning Gwen's place setting and smiled. "You're welcome." she said. "So have you tried anything yet? And magic I mean." Aurora conjured her usual green and silver ribbons - only showing off a little bit - and tied back her hair before stowing her wand back into it's holster.

Once again, Gwen mock gasped at her response and ended up in giggles. She was glad to have found someone nice, a Slytherin in fact who appeared to be around her age, maybe even the same.

*Gulp*

Now that sounded slightly scary. "But.. Why would you need them?" she asked blinking. Something that sucked your soul out, that sounded absolutely awful. "So they won't come to Hogwarts then?" she asked wide eyed. They were definitely something the young brunette would not want to come across on a dark night. In fact they were something she wouldn't want to come across at all.

Oh that was exciting! "I don't think I know any Quinn's. Well in fact I live in a Commune so unless they come from Limerick and share a house with lots of Hippy's I don't think I'd know them at all." After all, she didn't get many opportunities to get out and about anyway. Hogwarts was her first experience away from home. A pureblooded family? Weren't they supposed to be all upper class and snobby or something? "And they don't mind you socialising with half bloods?" she asked with a little pout. Gwen would try and make friends with everyone! "My older brothers have left home so they're not around often. But the twins? They're absolutely bonkers!" Different kinds of bonkers but still equally crazy. "Oh? Do you like being an only child?" she asked tilting her head. Gwenyth couldn't imagine that. Far too many children in her house, she'd grown up prying for attention. It was good and bad being the only girl. Sometimes it meant you got attention but other times you were overshadowed by your brothers.

"Oh. But they look really skinny like they're not ever fed" And judging by that one over at the Gryffindor table they liked punishing themselves. That was just AWFUL. See magic was just fascinating. And it didn't get any less fascinating the more she saw it. "No not yet. I thought I'd wait for lessons first." At least then she'd know how to control it.

Zhenya was so relieved to have finally met a first year Slytherin! She giggled, realising that the girl, Michelle, was mid-poke.

"Hi Michelle," she said, taking her hand and shaking it. "Well, I was born here, but my mother is Russian. I spent a lot of my childhood there. Is your family all from around the UK?" she asked, taking a bite out of her pumpkin pastie.

Maria wiped the tears that had starting running thickly down her face. "I don't know" she said truthfully.

Maria looked up, her short hair falling in her face and her forest green eyes wide as she listened. "I accept your apology. And I'm sorry that I lost my temper. I shouldn't have but I did. One of my flaws. So why don't we start over? she asked, ready to turn away if Lorelai said no.

"Thanks a lot !" she said .." This thing sorta have a mind of it's own I think. " Well, this was a little embarrassing ..Beatrice smiled apologetically at the girl and clasped her Remembrall tightly .. Okay. well, too much for the visit.

Beast boy was leaving. And so was Puddle boy!

Except, Puddle boy had to go and do THAT, and that just...no. Not a big fan of blowed kisses from younger kids or anyone that wasn't Josh. No matter how amusing it was!

Eh. "Have fun working up a second appetite." Either they'd find no food, or a professor would chase them back to the Slythie table. Seriously hoping for the latter here.

Wait, what? What did she mean deals can be broken? Her grin faded slightly as she looked to the girl she was poking. Oh look, she was awake. But first thing was first. "What do you mean deals can be broken? You didn't...you didn't tell..."

She didn't tell him did she!?!

With her sentence to Mia fading to a pause, Evelyn eyed the young girl. Hmmm, she looked like one of the normal ones. She was one of the normal first years right?

"The table isn't a place to sleep on." she said, raising a brow in the process. "Besides, the beds in the Slytherin common room are way comfier...and cleaner."

Definitely cleaner. She didn't know of any house elves feet that were on them. Not like the table.

Lorelai smiled and moved Maria's hair from her face. "I really am sorry. I mean I made myself sound like someone who couldn't care less about other people" she replied. She did care. But she cared more about her friends and family than strangers. But it looked like she had another friend to care about now. "I'd like to be friends with you so yeah. We'll start over" she added with a slight smile.

Lorelai smiled slightly at the girl. "You're welcome" she replied.

What was the looney grin for?

"Gemelli?" Interested, Corey watched Sal scoot under the table and join him. He followed along toward the other tables. "What kind of pet's it then?" He asked, as they left the snake table.

Tossing the fork away, Michelle laughed, too . "Haha, the meal is taking forever to start, gotta amuse oneself," she shrugged. "Russia huh? Like Durmstrang, Russia? They have great classes, I hear. And yea, my family has been in Devon for generations. Not terribly exotic, I know," she sighed. But a thought just occurred to her, "..but you picked Hogwarts, though?"

Ugh.

Mia was doing it again. Talking all smart like. If her friend kept it up.. well, Destiny didn't know what she would do, but she would do something that was not very pleasant! Like stick a carrot up her nose, surely that wasn't pleasant. "Practices and games are two different things." HA! Who was talking all smart-like now? Destiny Shepard, that's who. "If you are all awesome already, you would have a badge that says so. I don't see a badge." Nope, but she had one! A Gryffindor Quidditch Captain badge!

Jab, pull, pull, jab.

She would have appreciated if she had her hand back, and until she got it back, she would continue to pull. She shuddered as Mia mentioned talking to the house elves, who did that? They were evil little creatures, with big, bat-like ears and huge eyeballs! Once, Destiny woke up in the middle of the night, and in the corner of the dorm, a house elf was just watching her. It was creepy. "I doubt the house elf will come right out and tell you that they are evil. You don't hear me talking about how I steal things, do you?" No she did not. Not once had she ever mentioned that.

Destiny ignored the comment about the Healer. She didn't like talking about them. And just when she opened her mouth to tell Mia yes, yes she did want to bet on it, her friend had let go of her wrist, causing the fork to drop to the floor and her hand slap herself right in the face.

"I'M INJUUUURED!" She was so dramatic sometimes.

"Yeah, I was born here. My dad's half of the family are English, and have always lived here. He met my mum when he went over to Russia and brought her back, I guess. I've spent a lot of time over there with grandparents but never lived. And I hadn't been there for the last 2 years, so Hogwarts sent me a letter." She missed her grandparents a lot.

"I'm not sure where my mum went to school, exactly, but it wasn't Durmstrang. My brother told me about Durmstrang and said he would have loved to go there, so I do believe they did have pretty good classes."

She took a big gulp of her Pumpkin Juice - refreshing...

"Do you have any siblings?"

Selena shook her head quickly. "No, it's not. And it doesn't matter because you should say thank you to them anyways," she said, sticking her tongue out childishly at him, but really, their whole conversation was relatively juvenile so it didn't really matter. "OH! I'm a fifth year tooo, but I wasn't here for my fourth year," Selena said beaming. And she wasn't really a transfer because she was here. And awesome. And incredible. He was just jealous. "You can't call me that!" Selena exclaimed, she would've stopped her foot if she was standing, but she wasn't. "You can call me anything but that name," Selena decided. And if he called her that again, she would kick him in the shins.

"They're mean and they are evil and they go up high," Selena said with a frown and hands on her head. Kent was starting to squirm around now. And it was tickly. "I don't wanna go on a brooooooooom, can I have someone else race for me?" Selena asked, with big puppy dog eyes. He had to say yes. NOOOOO. Punishment. "And I don't wanna get all the candy I want, I already get that, I want... I waaaannnnt..." she couldn't decide. It seemed like his reward for winning was better than hers. It was horrible. "I want you to do my herbology homework for two months," Selena decided. She wasn't a fan of herbology... the plants were scary and evil.

Selena nodded, as though it should've been obvious. "You're not nearly half as amazing as me, I don't blame you, most people don't think as amazingly as I do," she said smugly. Did she really have to spell everything out for him. He was slow. "I'll have a rocket ship and then set up a portkey," she said, with huge amounts of duh in her voice. He was being ridiculous. She gasped when he said the polar bears would eat it. "They have polar bears in the Arctic?!" she said surprised. She always thought that they were on the other cold part. Now she was going to have to buy a zoo.

She was seriously tempted to push him out of his seat now. She pouted and folded her arms across her chest. "You're mean, I'm the awesomest and you're just jealous, so stop lying," she said. He was jealous and she was sticking with that theory. And Nik was just a big fat meanie.

"You never said I couldn't! So hah," she said, triumphantly. She totally won already. "And it's not cheating if there were no rules," Selena added.

It is better not to eat too much. After what she went through earlier, Aiden decided to stop eating. She puts down her fork and glances around for familiar faces. That is when she spots an older boy she recognises. A smirk is carved on Aiden's mouth. Finally someone she knows who's not involved in the drama.

Everett looks pretty much alone. Aiden guesses he hasn't met anyone he knows yet. Walking towards him, Aiden pats his shoulder. "You alright?"

Turning away from the sleeping girl and focusing her attention back on Evelyn, Mia ran a finger over her lips in a thoughtful gesture. "No. I haven't said a word to anyone." Not even to Destiny who she had spent two weeks with. Nor Nik, who she had spent six weeks with and he was the closest person to her.

"But you didn't go and see a professional, did you?"


Merlin! She had almost forgotten how annoying Destiny could be. How did she manage to survive those two weeks with her? Mia shook her head, totally exasperated and decided it was probably best not to respond to that.

"House elves are not evil!" The Slytherin had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. She probably didn't like the elves because they didn't cook her potatoes properly or something. "Um...yeah actually you do. Or well you did." She distinctly remembered Destiny telling her about stealing animals. On a couple of occasions.

If it had of been anyone else, Mia probably would have been concerned and most likely apologetic. But this was Destiny, so the sight of her hand slapping her in the face caused Mia to burst out laughing.

Caroline turned her head when she heard a hello. A girl was sitting there. Was she sitting there when she took a seat? She couldn't remember. She smiled to her fellow Slytherin. "Hello there, How are you?"

Caroline had just finished cleaning her silverware when she heard her name. And then being hugged from behind. She instantly knew the voice and smiled. Selena was really back. This was great, her, Selena and Emma were going to have some much fun in the common room and dorms this term. And she couldn't wait for the Hogmeade trips, Selena and her were going to take over Honeydukes. She wouls share her sugar quills with Carter if he wanted them. Of course he would, why wouldn't he?

"You're here you're really here!" Even thought the last time that she had seen her was over the summer at her house when she came over. But it still seem like a long time ago. She stood up and give her a proper hug. Had Selena gotten taller since she seen her last?

Selena beamed and took a seat next to Caroline. "YES!" she said with a smile, "In the flesh, the one, the only, Selena Zabini-Riddle," she said dramatically before she was hugged. She hugged Caroline back. "We're another year older now!" she added. Which wasn't amazing, but better than not growing old in a place she disliked. "How was your summer?" Selena added, as Kent rolled off her head and onto the plate. She frowned and placed him back on her head.

Watching the girl getting some refreshments, Michelle decided to have some, too ("Oh where is the fooood?")

"It's only me, my mum, nana and my two aunts at home. We don't have kids my age to hang with at the house. I guess that's why I'm excited to be here," she smiled. "..and to get away from the gloom, too," she thought to herself..

"Are you and your brother close?"
