In one of the vacant rooms down in the castle dungeons, the furniture has been removed to give room for a small stage and a big circular dance floor. Performing during the Deathday Party is the four-man skeleton band Superior Maxillary with the lead singer Henry. The band will play songs from several centuries and also those songs which the ghosts and portraits have requested. The walls of the dungeon are decorated in a dark and deathlike theme with candles; fireflies in small cages; purple and grey velvet curtaining; and hanging decorations that look as if they were fashioned from cobwebs.
"You're getting upset because I don't want to talk about my brother's supposed wedding right now?" Rafe was being a little ridiculous. Did he not understand that she was upset to be finding out this way? Jasper could have wrote her a note or SOMETHING. This was big news. It wasn't everyday you learn someone you thought would never commit is committing.
Marilyn just wished she would have her the news from him. Closing her eyes, she began to speak again. "Listen, the fact that I'm ever speaking to you right now says something. I'm unable to stay upset with you..." Stupid jerk. "Don't push me, though. This is NOT about you..."
"No I'm getting upset because you don't want to talk at all!" Rafe was tired of all the effort. It was kind of exhausting. And the more he tried the more he thought he would never get her to reciprocate any kind of friendship they had between them anymore. "I'm tired of making the effort of being the one to give you good news and then you take it as the worst thing you've heard in the world!" Yeah, he was being a bit of a messenger, but why couldn't she show a little bit of gratitude? "You're so selfish Marilyn. Always thinking about yourself and the moment someone else shows they care, you somehow manipulate them to make them feel like they're the worst person in the world."
He folded his arms and anger filled his eyes. Yes, he hurt her, but it was from being honest. She was just hurting him for selfish reasons. "There will be a time when you're going to need a real friend Marilyn and you're not going to be able to run down the halls of Hogwarts to find one. You're going to end up alone if you keep going down this path. I've always said I would be there for you, but to tell you the truth, I can't be anymore." Rafe would've supported her and guided her, but he couldn't. He had to start thinking about himself and his feeling. "I don't want to speak to you again. I tried to make this work, but you've pushed me to the point of no return."

Rose sighed, hearing him call after her. She snuck up behind him and placed her hands on his shoulder saying 'You need to lighten up!'. Hopefully that'd scare him. 'Fine, no more tag. Macarena, Muggle song, very funny and weird to do.' Rose chuckled. 'We can... do random spells?' Rose grinned mischieviously, before pointing her wand at some food in front of a Ghost. 'Wingardium Leviosa.' she whispered and chuckled at the Ghost's face when he saw the lamb rise in front of him. She quickly took the spell off and put her wand in her pocket quickly, before looking at Ashley with a mischievious glint in her eye.
Well, Ashley wasn't going to actually run around the place, and so he wasn't surprised to lose track of Rose as she failed to stop when he'd called. He hadn't expected that she'd gone around enough to sneak up on him, though, and he was very surprised by the sudden hand on his shoulder, jumping away before turning around quickly, hand pressed to his chest and eyes squeezed shut for a moment.
"I don't really know that many spells, either," he said, shaking his head, though he did laugh at the little show. Suddenly he felt bad. He was being boring and not at all fun to be around, and that sucked. But he didn't know what to do about it. He figured it was only a matter of time before Rose gave up, but he just couldn't help it.
"What happened to the dancing?" he asked, because he did wonder what happened to that. He'd thought it was a good suggestion.
Did you just lose something? The GAME? Sorry... 'Justin Bieber, he is the man!' U mad, Felton!?

Rose laughed as he jumped. 'Gotcha!' Rose giggled. She watched him laugh and felt happy. She liked making friends laugh! It was what she was good at! 'One day, I'll teach you some... Me and a friend practiced in the RoR. I can teach you a shield spell. It came in handy quite a few times!' Rose whistled remembering her putting it up to stop Nessie attacking her, then taking it down, allowing Nessie to attack her, no fighting back. Gryffindor style! She automatically put her hand to her cheek where she'd been slapped and looked down at her knee which was scabbing over. Rose seemed to be good at getting into mischief... She chuckled at this and turned back to Ashley.
'We can dance! If you like waltzing!' Rose laughed. 'That's the only other I know, sorry... Other than that, I'm useless!' Rose smiled.

Ashley really needed to find out about this room soon, because now the curiosity was killing him. Why was it called that? Did you have to do something to be able to get into it? Did you have to bring it a present? Or a sacrifice??
In the middle of his thoughts, he noticed Rose touch her cheek, and tilted his head to peer at the area, worried that something had happened that he somehow missed while he was daydreaming. He didn't see anything, though, so he just moved on, shaking his head, because he didn't know the first thing about waltzing. Maybe he should have gone to those dance lessons.
"I don't even know how to start that!" he said with a smile of amusement, mostly at himself. It was the look he had when he was amused enough to aaaaaaalmost laugh, but not quite enough to cross the threshold. "There's a game... do you want to go check that out?" That was another thing he still wondered about, having passed by on his way here, but having not bothered to stop.

What was he saying exactly?
"You're...done?" Marilyn didn't think she was hearing him right. He was done with her? Was he saying this to hurt her?
Yes, that had to be it...That was the only reason Rafe would say such a thing. Well, two could play that game. If he wanted to hurt her...she was going to return the favor.
"If that's the way you feel...Then I don't need you. You and I are done here." Marilyn refused to meet his eyes. Instead, she pulled herself together and left the party. He wanted to be done...then Marilyn could be done. Indefinitely.

All Orlando could make out was that one minute he had been happy and the next everything had come crashing down. Ryden was here.
Something that he had wanted. He had wanted it because he had wished for her to enjoy with him. The night wouldn't have been completed if he hadn't been able to enjoy with hrt - hadn't been able to make her laugh or blush. For a second there, he had actually decided to actually promise himself that everything that he enjoyed this year, he would make sure she enjoyed it too but it seemed his mind was clearly playing tricks on him. She was not happy. She was angry.
With Lexi and him.
His dumbfounded expression got lost when he heard the raised voices. Voices of both Ryden and Lexi going at it. Ryden had nothing nice to say about Lexi and he knew Lexi wasn't going to take it lightly either. And she didn't.
"Lexi, no. No need to call anyone. I .. we are leaving," he announced, before taking a look at Harlow. "I'll see you soon, kiddo. Ahh .. take care of yourself," he said helplessly. Not sure of his words or anything.
He smiled weakly when Lexi told him that their dance would have to take a raincheck. "Definitely. I won't forget," he said before turning to Ryden. "Let's go"
And with that, he made his way out of the dance floor and out the party.

"Yes, done. As in I'm done fighting to keep anything we had together." Rafe was tired of the games and the effort. "I've said I'd move on and leave it alone, but there's just some things that have to be said." He wasn't going to lose eye contact. He wasn't going to give her that satisfaction. "I've been there for you, but when have you ever been there for me? I've tried telling myself that I'm okay, but that's just been a lie. Seriously why have I been fighting to make this work?" He was trying to wrap his head around what he was saying, what he was doing. He loved her, even still, standing there furious. "I never thought it would come to this. But, I like to think I'm not giving up easily." A part of him would never give up on her, but she needed to figure out her priorities and not be so selfish for once in her life. "This is goodbye." He slowly began to walk away and a tear streamed down his face.

Despite the creepiness of the atmosphere, Orlando was having fun. He was too indulged in the moment, his lips were continously stretched into a grin it seemed. Not to mention, the fierce streak in Lexi was amusing him greatly.
When she placed her hand on his shoulder, in response to his own move - Orlando wanted to smirk and he probably did. It was something so unlike of him to be doing. He didn't just go around showing his dance move. It was just so .. not Lando of him. Yet, he was enjoying it.
"Let's see, if you can keep up, Miss Kennedy," he challenged and started move - but he had barely really when a very familiar voice shouted. Ryden. Something in his chest constricted, he knew it was bad. Her tone declared nothing else. And then something about Harlow.
"Why are you yelli -? "His question got left hanging in mid air.
HARLOW HAD FAINTED.
Before he could process what had happened, Lexi was gone. And he too found himself kneeling down in the floor, next to the little first year. "Harlow!" he began but Lexi was already helping her. It was all happening too fast for his liking. VERY fast. Because the young girl was already waking up and clinging onto Lexi.
Oh.
She saw the ghost.
"Harlow, we can leave - do you want to leave?" he asked, it was only relevant thing to say. After all, this ghost things like head pulling would probably happen through out the night. And they didn't need Harlow fainting again and again.
Harlow smiled up at Orlando. Her head was hurting still a bit but she was feeling loads better. "No I can stay." she shook her head. Harlow didn't want to ruin anyone's good time. Orlando and Lexi seemed to be having a great time and she was too.
Till that ghost took its head off.....
SPOILER!!: Ryden

What did Orlando SEE in her, the horrible, horrible hag?
Well, other than the things she'd thought of before. UGH.
Backing off as Horrible Hag began attending to the girl - who was apparently called Harlow - Ryden blinked as the Slytherin woke up and her first words were directed at her. Er, mum? "No, I'm not," Ryden replied softly, then backed away even further as the girl reached to cling on the hag.
What was WITH these people and their affections for this EVIL girl? Had she got them all under a curse or something? The fifth year certainly wouldn't put it past her. In FACT, Ryden would now be looking for SIGNS of this, just to check because she was pretty sure that it was ILLEGAL. Oh, what a happy day it would be to see her carted to prison. Alcatraz, Azkaban, whatever they had here.
Oh, look. The man of the hour had decided to show. Turning as Orlando began his question, she was ABOUT to interject when he simply cut himself off and went to fuss about the fainted girl. ... WELL.
He wanted to know if Harlow wanted to leave? WELL, RYDEN COULD THINK OF ANOTHER PERSON WHO DID TOO. Not that he cared. Not that he could tell what she was feeling now. GAH. Wasn't it OBVIOUS on her face? Had he gone BLIND?!
"I'm EVER so sorry to interrupt your little dancing session with that HAG," she said to him stonily, fighting to keep her voice down in front of the Slytherin girl. After all, she hadn't done anything wrong and the poor thing had just fainted.
"How NICE of you to acknowledge my existence, even for just a second," Ryden added icily as she got up and frowned down at Orlando, the anger she'd felt drain away before coming back full force. Her hands fisted again as her eyes hardened and Ryden found that her heart was hammering inside her chest.
Not. In. Here. "Not to be a nuisance, but could I speak," she pronounced the word slowly, enunciating each letter with care, "to you outside. As your girlfriend, I DO believe you owe me that much, you horrid, vile, di-" Ryden stopped herself and took a DEEP breath.
He'd BETTER come. OR ELSE. Ryden was only reasonable and polite until she felt like she didn't want to be. And that point was coming. Fast.
Harlow smiled at the girl that tried to help her, and she blushed when she called her mommy. "I'm sorry." she said to the girl. She was ready to introduce herself to the girl, but then she tore into Lexi. Harlow backed away from the and her venom. She had no idea what was going on or why it was happening. The smile fell off her face. "What's wrong?" she asked looking between the two of them.
SPOILER!!: Aunty Lexi

"Yes, he is a ghost... they do that sometimes. There is nothing to be frightened of, though. I promise." Lexi remembered the first time she had encountered one of the Hogwarts ghosts... it had been interesting to say the very least.
Lexi had been greatly enjoying herself with Orlando spinning her about and dipping her. And then all of drama llamas came about. SIGHS FOR LIFE. Lexi looked up at Lando and shrugged as if to say she had NO clue what the heck was going on. Which... she didn't.
She looked between the Glaring Girl and Lando and shook her head. Riiiiight. Lexi and Lando were NOTHING but friends. If the girl only KNEW how long she and Sal had been a couple and all the details there she would know she had NOTHING to worry about. Alas, girls were stupid sometimes. And Lexi should know; she's often one of those stupid girls.
"Leave Harlow to me, Orlando. Seems you have some... stuff to sort out. Rain check on the dance, though. For sure," she said with a grin. She didn't CARE if the girl got angry -- er with her or not. She was NOT going to be different with her friend just because that dreadful girl didn't like her.
Lexi pursed her lips and looked back at Ryden. Anger stirred deep inside of her and her right hand instinctively twitched. "Right. So shouting at myself and Orlando was surely sensible. Look here-- I haven't the foggiest idea as to what your problem is, but I suggest you take your attitude elsewhere. You are greatly disrespecting Sir Nicholas and the rest of his guests. Myself included." She delivered her message in a less than pleasing tone and eyed the girl with disdain. She was NOT keen on some little punk calling her out. Ever.
Lexi HAD been quite content in keeping a level head and moving on about her business until she heard the brat call her a hag.
...
Still patting Harlow's back she leveled a death glare at the little girl and scowled. "A hag, eh. Let me tell you something right NOW, GIRL. I have done absolutely NOTHING to warrant you calling me names and the like, but if you wish to continue I would be MORE than happy to go fetch my boyfriend... the HEAD BOY or any other authority figure in attendance. Trust me, it's the best option for YOU. If you think I am a hag now... honey you haven't seen me angry. So what will it be? You leave NOW and cool your jets or will I have to handle this some other way?"
It was NO empty threat. Lexi Kennedy didn't DO empty threats. She would like to make it past the first MONTH of school without being expelled for hexing a 5th year into oblivion, though. Truth be told, though -- she damn sure wasn't above making the little girl suffer. Heh.
Harlow turned to Lexi, "Oh please don't fight," she begged tears brimming her eyes. She hated fighting. This was turning into a nightmare of a day. First a headless ghost, then a lot of dirt and now a fight. This was too much for a little girl like her to handle.

Rose raised her eyebrows in curiousity. 'What game?' Rose asked, beaming widely. She loved games. A lot. Games kept her happy, and a happy Rose made other people happy. Or at least not sad. Rose didn't like making people sad. It made her feel sad. And that'd make her feel guilty and then she would get annoyed. Ugh.
Daphne turned, a surprised look on her face when Ezra apologized. Um. Was he just joking around or was he actually being serious? Well, she hoped it was the latter. "Uh..well, that's okay.." Before any awkwardness could settle in, she continued, "I don't think you were being a nuisance..I think you're.." Daphne searched for the right word and came up with, "Amusing." That was a compliment. Yep.
o_O He was smirking again. Why did he keep doing that!? "..and I think you should come up with something that's way better than the skeleton joke.." Daphne gave a small snort. She ran a hand through her hair unconsciously which made her hair a lot messier.
"I thought we were talking about you?" Daphe asked, with an eyebrow raised. But..she suddenly burst out laughing. "I agree with you there and...I personally like high-fives more." She said, raising her hand and giving him a high-five.
"Sounds great! I've never been to the Kitchens before either." Daphne said, excitedly. She would rather visit the Kitchens than just stand there, listening to really bad music.
"Amusing? That's interesting and new." He gestured her to lead the way to the kitchens. "Let's seeee..." He drawled, counting on his fingers as he followed her towards the exit, eager to get out of this party. It was starting to get a bit gloomy here. "I've got 2 buffoons, 1 stupid and 3 sillies." He informed proudly.
Oh drat. She didn't like his skeleton joke? Maybe he should try another joke? Yes? "Shhsh, you don't want to offend the skeletons." He said with a chuckle, glancing over his shoulder to see the Skeleton Band. "So are you interested in another joke?" He questioned, wiggling his eyebrows at her. Oooh. Which one to choose? He was so ready to discharge his arsenal of jokes upon her. Mwahah.
Aw. She looked pretty cute when she laughed. "Alright!" He said, slapping his hand with hers. "Your eyes really twinkle when you laugh." He complimented, passing her a small smile.
"What if we get lost?" He asked, not knowing that Daphne belonged to Hufflepuff. "I've heard that Hufflepuffs aren't very welcoming." Umm. He wasn't one to judge people without knowing them personally but he couldn't deny the fact that Hogwarts was kind of creepy.
Rose raised her eyebrows in curiousity. 'What game?' Rose asked, beaming widely. She loved games. A lot. Games kept her happy, and a happy Rose made other people happy. Or at least not sad. Honestly, Ashley hadn't stopped long enough to see what the game was. It just looked like something physical, and lots of people were playing it. It seemed to involve weirdly-shaped balls, too, which was why he was interested.
Still, he unfortunately started to realize that he wasn't feeling too well. Whether it was left over from earlier, or if he had just coincidentally began to fall sick right at that moment, he started to wonder if it wouldn't just be best if he left.
"Ah, I don't know," he said, because he didn't. "Don't be angry with me... but I kinda think I still want to get out of here, after all. I'm not feeling too well," he went on, giving her a somewhat hopeful look, because he didn't want to be scolded again.

Again Ashley put on a smile, because he wanted to be reassuring, and because he just plain liked the fact that he wasn't being scolded. That was always good.
"I wouldn't ignore you, don't worry," he said. "Hey, we can hang out sometime soon, okay?"
And with that, he walked off to get back to his dorm, only realizing once he had that he hadn't actually suggested any specific time or place. But then again, the school was only so big. He was bound to run into Rose again soon enough.

'Alright.' Rose said sadly. 'See you.' Rose said as she sat down in the corner. She felt lonely now. She had no-one to speak to. Brilliant. She scolded herself for being a downer and got up and started to dance.

"DESTINY!" she called back as the girl approached. She was really going to have to get used to all the yelling she was going to have to do down there. A part of her did wonder if the rules applied to all of the dungeon or was it just the corridors? Either way, she would just have to yell seeing that she need to hear herself over the music. "It is a death day party silly," she laughed. Ghosts were going to be there.
"Eww, you know I really hate when that happens!" Having a ghost float through you was a feeling she would never want to experience again. "I'm lucky none have flew through me yet," she added with a face. Keeping her fingers crossed it didn't happen tonight, she had a rough enough of a day.
"Wait, do you think they fly through us because they know how much we don't like it? It was a valid question, wasn't it?
Well, duuuh!
Destiny knew where she was, but she didn't think there would be so many ghosts. And even if she did, she would have thought they would all be grouped together. Not floating around like they owned the place. Or did they own it? Since it was a Deathday Party and they all were dead.. ehh, too much thinking made her brain hurt.
She shook her head dramatically, eying the Bloody Baron who was not so far away. "I hope he doesn't walk through us." It was freezing when one of the happy, jolly ghosts walked through her. Imagine if he did it! Considering he was looking even deader than the last time she saw him..
Tearing her gaze away from the scary Baron, Destiny turned back to Mina.. who had asked a very good question. "I.." She didn't know! For the first time ever, Destiny Shepard did not have an answer to a question! "You think the ghosts would be offended if we went and asked them?"
The Fat Friar was around somewhere. He seemed nice enough to answer them.

Beth really was not enjoying herself. At least all the students were; and at least the ghosts seemed to be... That was the important thing, right? Yeah... It didn't matter at all that it was Beth's 30th birthday... Celebrating the day an old ghost died was more important to the residents of Hogwarts. Pfft. Then again... Most of the people in Hogwarts probably have no clue that today is also their Healer's birthday.
She made her way over to the dance area. Not to dance though... No. She'd not danced properly in a long time, and it didn't seem right to do so any more. Even that dance lesson a couple of weeks back had been too weird for Beth. So, instead she just stood at the edge of the dance floor; leaning against one of the pillars in the dungeon, and observed the dance floor whilst listening to the peculiar skeleton band...

Mina glanced around and tilted her head slightly. Yeah, there was a lot of ghosts around that was for sure. It was a bit strange to see all of them there in one place and she hadn't even realised just how many of them were in the castle. Seeing them all in one place was a bit creepy, but in a cool way. Was that even possible? Either way, it was both cool to see all the ghosts around but creep to see them all in the same place. Kind of creaptastic and all.
Following Destiny's look, she eyed the Bloody Baron and nodded. "You know he still gives me the creeps," she voiced quietly. Most of the other ghosts in the castle never creeped her out as much as the Baron did, but she was just used to all the ghosts in the tower. The Grey Lady was obviously her favourite ghost. "Yeah, I really he doesn't walk through us too. I'm getting all cold just thinking about it as is!" Being in the cold of the dungeons was one thing. Having a very cold and scary ghost walk through her was something else completely.
Blinking, she tilted her head in though. It wouldn't be rude to ask would it? "I say it's worth a try! What do we have to lose?" It didn't sound at all rude and it was an honest question. They wanted to know and what better place to ask then here. There were a lot of ghosts around to ask after all.
Glancing around, she tried to find a nice looking one. The Fat Friar had to be around somewhere and he was always a nice one to talk to.
Moving to the dancefloor, Nikolas thought it would be good to practice what he had learned in the dance lesson, after all he knew he wasn't a good dancer and maybe next class he could wow some girls with his movees. So...hmmm there was no one to dance with and started to walk around the room and look for a familiar face but...there was no one. Pffft now this was boring. He leaned against a wall with his arms crossed and watched the couple dancing...having fun and him? here standing by a wall....lonely. How lovely.

Emma Malfoy walked towards the dance floor. Great, more dancing. And sadly, once again, it seemed as if Emma Malfoy was without a partner. Hmm.. Braeden was missing. The blonde's brown eyes searched the dance floor for a familiar face. Hmmm.. Nope, she knew no one on the left side of the room, but as her eyes moved slowly to the right, they stopped on a familiar face. Nikolas. Her partner in crime. How was he always in the right place when she was alone? Did he have super powers or something? Merlin. Emma was just glad to see a familiar face.
Wearing a smile on her face, the blonde slowly made her way over to were he was and her smile grew a little bigger with every step she took. Taking a deep breath and trying to be casual, she felt nervous. Why did she feel nervous all of a sudden? And then she was standing right next to him. "Hey Nik," she said, with a soft smile. Luckily the blonde had toned down her big smile. "How's it going?"

Nikolas watched as the couples danced and were having a good time, he sighed heavily and look at the ghosts dancing. Transparents people and dancing...something he didn't see often, even in the other life they were having a good time. How sad. Oh well better go and find some food, that would definitely cheer him up.
But before he could move a finger, he heard someone's voice and turned around to see...Emma! Ahh finally someone he knew. "Look who's here!" he smiled. "Good, before you came I was boring so, you came just in time to save me from a boring moment" he admitted. If it wasn't for her, Nikolas would have been right now at the buffet table. "You look pretty by the way" he flattered her and him? He looked great, no need to tell him.
"Well, I'm glad I came up with something that you like." Ugh. That did sound so lame. "Uh. I mean.." Daphne said, slightly flustered as she walked towards the exit. "..nothing really.." She ran a hand through her hair, feeling extremely embarrassed. What was wrong with her!? Anyway, she was really glad to get out of the party. It was a little depressing.
"I doubt if they can actually hear us.." She said, dryly as she turned to look at the skeleton band. Jeez. How could anyone play such bad music? She snorted when he asked if she was interested in another joke. "Well, yeah..as long as it's funny, of course."
Aw. Daphne blushed. "Why, thank you! You have a.." AAGGGHHH. "..really nice smile, actually." Was she flirting with him!? Oh, no.
Hufflepuff's aren't welcoming? PFFT. Anyway, she wasn't going to react to that comment. Now, that would be..immature. "You don't have to worry about getting lost. I'm a Hufflepuff so I'll just guide you around."

Emma smiled at him as Nikolas declared that she had come just in time to save him from further boredom. The blonde blushed slightly and chuckled. "Well, I'm glad that I could have helped my partner in crime out," she said and poked him at his side as she wore a devilishly cunning smile on her lips. How did Nikolas always bring out the [s]worst[/i] evil, feisty side of her? She'd never know the answer. And neither would anyone else.
The blonde's eyes grew a tad bit bigger as Nik complimented her. He said wha-at? What? The Emma bit her lip to stop herself from blushing a scarlet red. The She-Snake pushed a strand of blonde hair behind her ear. She was embarrassed. "Umm.. Thank you Nik. You look quite pretty too," she said as she winked at him. "So what lovely lady are you going to ask for a dance? Selena? A new girl?" she asked as she casually twirled a strand of blonde hair around her index finger.

"Well that is your job anyways" he pointed out. He was his partner in crime therefore she had the obligation to help him. "Not for nothing I'm your partner in crime" he teased "Bring me a puddin please" he ordered her then he laughed "Just kidding". Still he wanted puddin but he would get that later.
When Nikolas complimented her, he saw Emma blushed and a mischievous smile grew on his lips. He liked when girls blushed when he has said or done something for them. Even though she looked cute, but if he said that she would blush even more and the whole situation would turn pretty awkward. "I always look good" Because he was Nikolas Agger. About the dance question. Umm he didn't know yet, but when he heard that name his eyes widened "Selena? Nah, believe me even if I tried she would kill me" he chuckled and he saw her as a sister...a very annoying sister. Suddenly an idea came to his mind..."And...what about if..." he thought it for a second "We practice what we have learned in dance class?" he suggested.
