"It looks great, but I can't draw to save my life so to me it looks good" she laughed. She missed her Ravenclaw and Gryffindor friends the people wern't the same over at Slytherin. "Thanks" she said.

Gaby grinned happily as the girl responded. More friends! Woot! 'Is your brother at Hogwarts, then? What year is he in?' she asked, glancing down at her cup and considering taking a sip of water. Upon closer examination of the tarnished silverware, she decided against it. Too risky. 'I know! A tower! It's gonna be so awesome,' the blonde said, nodding energetically and causing her curls to bounce up and down all over the place, making her look slightly weird.

'Nice to meet you, Indy,' Gaby said, smiling back at her. She noticed the other girl trying not to look at the cutlery... smart move. 'Gross, isn't it? I wonder if the House Elves are on strike or something,' she said thoughtfully. That would just suck, wouldn't it? 'So we're going to be sharing a dorm room! In a tower!' she she said, grinning again. This feast was just getting better and better.

'Yeah, that's right. She's related to Rowena Ravenclaw in some way... I forget how. She might have been her daughter, or something. She had a relationship with the Bloody Baron once, but it didn't end well - or so I've read...' Gaby said, thinking out loud again. She should probably learn to stop doing that. But honestly, she was just a fountain of knowledge that needed to be shared with the world. Anyways, in other news... 'Yeah, you're probably right,'

Gaby laughed. 'Yeah, I probably will try out. I doubt I'll get put on the team though - I'm only in my first year, after all,' she said, sounding a little dejected. Oh well - there was still flying in her free time, and lessons and stuff. 'Oh, I can just imagine you with a set of pom-poms and cheerleader's outfit,' she told Caelius with a grin. That would be absolutely priceless.

'Politics, eh? That sounds interesting,' Gaby said, intrigued. She didn't really know much about the world of politics, only that there was a lot of debating involved. She was good at debating - well, she was good at arguing, but weren't they pretty much the same thing?

A magical familiar. 'As a matter of fact, I did,' Gaby said with a grin, and ducked under the table. She re-surfaced a couple of seconds later, a fluffy white kneazle in her arms. 'Meet Draco,' she said, smiling as she stroked his cute little head. 'Did you bring one?'

Gaby laughed and squirted some onto a tissue for Elliot. 'It's called hand sanitizer. It's like soap, in a little bottle that you carry around. Y'know, in case you get your hands dirty,' she explained, and wondered if it was perhaps something that they only had in America. She handed over the tissue with a smile. 'Just rub it over your hands. It'll keep them clean and germ-free!'

The blonde blushed a little as she realised she was starting to sound like a hand sanitizer commercial... whoopsies. 'Anyway, I hope they serve the food up soon. I'm starving... they'll have to clean the plates before we eat, though,' because there was no way that Gabrielle Anne Parker was eating from anything as filthy as this. Fact.

Daniel was studying headmaster Tate's hair when someone suddenly was moving his chair from underneath him? No..Daniel looked to see a girl pulling her robes which Daniel had sat on accidently. And she couldn't have just asked? But Daniel had no time to think as he became off balance and started falling. His wand slipped out of his pocket and Daniel fell and stuck a hand out to balance himself, and stopping himself from falling on said wand.

Daniel straightened himself up, ignoring his wand, as he was annoyed with this girl. How could she! "Excuse me?" he said in a very annoyed voice. "What were you doing?" His face was not happy at all. Not furious but not positive either.."Do you enjoy watching men hurt themselves?" That was just...lame. He had to come up with better lines..

Daniel moved his head slightly as a first year beckoned him over. That was just slightly creepy...but he didn't want to be rude, "Later perhaps." he said, right now he wanted to know what was wrong with the other girl. The first year could join him if she wanted.

"Well as far as I know we haven't drastically mistreated them lately...I mean," she went on animatedly trying to explain her askew thoughts. "I don't think they've been physically abused or anything of the sort. Things that would logically under usual moral standards be considered pretty good reasons to call a strike.

Tucking her hand in the sleeve of her robe, she used the edge to wipe away at a water mark on her fork. "Then again," her voice took on a pensive tone. "We weren't here during the summer and I mean aaaanything could've happened."

Glancing up at the staff table, the Ravenclaw prefect shrugged her shoulders with a lopsided smile. "For all we know, Borr decided to get unbusy and visit for a moment and maybe made the mistake of telling the house elves something offputting about the "service" here...most likely insulting them on some unforgivable molecular level." All of this was of course said in a matter of fact tone even though her eyes were dancing with unspilled laughter.

Her hair fell in front of her eyes again as she nodded along with him, unconsciously angling herself towards him when he turned too. "But yeah, hopefully someone explains. If anything, we can sneak on over to the kitchens after the feast and investigate for ourselves." Funny, it wasn't until the words had left her mouth when she'd turned to look at the Sorting Hat ceremony for a second that the brunette realized what she'd asked. She meant as friends of course. Just friends. Not there was anything wrong with not just friends...wait what?! Where had that thought come from!

Mayday. Mayday. Time to steer her thoughts back to house elves.

"Oh, alright.." Jayden responded. She had just wanted to ask him a few questions about classes anyway...

Louisa's eyes widened as the boy actually lost his balance. She wanted to stretch her hand for him to prevent the fall but he managed to do it himself. She didn't mean to make him fall... although when you think of it, it would've been an amusing scene to watch, especially with all the distraction from the 'he & she' Louisa desperately needed.

...and he was annoyed. No one could blame him but Louisa wasn't going to show him that she was sorry. He was the one to sit on her new robes, didn't he know that she grew taller this year and bought these? No. He probably didn't but still... "You should've seen where you were sitting," she replied with a shrug before looking at him with arched eyebrows, "You wouldn't have gotten hurt! What are you? A marshmallow?" The almost fourteen years old said in disbelief- not mocking but surprised that he called falling off a bench 'hurting'. It was barely a bump into the ground, heh, nothing serious, pffft. She wasn't going to prove that, though. O__O

Dallin frowned, flicking a fork as Ivory explained her theory. It could be true... except Dal had a hard time believing that Borr would actually come to Hogwarts during the summer. He hadn't even come during the year to teach his class! But... maybe someone came and upset the elves. That would make some sense. Sorta. Although he didn't understand the 'insulting them on a molecular level' part.

Sneak into the kitchens? That actually sounded like a good idea. Turning the fork he'd been flicking around, Dallin nodded. "We should do that." His lips turned up into a small, sly smile and he dropped the fork on the table and clasped his hands in his lap. His smile disappeared, though, when he realized something. "What about your Prefecty duties?" Unless she didn't have to do those this year.

Jordan shrugged, "Im not sure, Faina said that he thought he didn't have friends but shh... you didn't hear it from me!" he grinned before howling with laughter at the thought of Cael in a bikini as he sat down.

Background? Now Presley was intruiged. She was always one for a good story that lead to something interesting. But he'd said he wasn't very social. That was not a positive thing. "Ravenclaw is social, sort of," she pointed out. But try as she might she couldn't resist. "What exactly do you mean by background?"

"RACHEL!" Presley exclaimed, flipping around to give her a huge hug. She was just so glad to see her. It felt like ages, as it had been. "Oh my Merlin where have you been lately?" She grinned as Rachel wished her a happy birthday. One of the few to say it all day. She took the package. "Thank you so much Rache! I've finally caught up with you and Luna. I feel so grown up!" She shook the package lightly, rying to figure out what it was.

Presley shook her head. "That's really sweet of you to offer, but honestly, I would much rather just have a small fun day with my closest friends. So you and me and Rachel should just go out somewhere. Maybe Leo can get special permission to take us to a theme park or something this weekend?" It was just one idea, but Pres loved roller coasters. It would be the best thing ever. Or maybe a water park? As a last goodbye to summer? She definitely didn't want a big party, that was for sure.

"Thanks!" Temperance says. "You're welcome" she says with a smile. "How are the Slytherin's? Excited about classes? I just hope I don't get lost trying to find the classroom's." Temperance asks.

Jayden smiled as she saw the girl performing a levitation charm on her goblet. "So.. I see you learned how to levitate.." She said with a chuckle.

"Ooooh.... these people.." Jayden thought to herself, proud that she had been raised pureblood and knew a lot more about magic and spells than some of the new students here....

"The huge topic at the Slytherin table is how dirty the silverware is. Also I haven't seen to many first years at the Slytherin table" She said. Chelsea had met two Slytherin first years though.

"I'm very excited about classes. But I'll probably get lost on the moving staircases they seem a bit confusing. But I know for sure I'll be able to find Potions class because its in the dungeons by the Slytherin common room"

"PHILIP!!!!!!" Presley shrieked, spotting her seventh-year friend. "Oh my merlin!! HI!" She gave him the hugest hug ever, then saw...Dani? Was that her name? "Hey, Dani!" she grinned, hoping that really was her name. She flipped back to Philip. "How was you--" About to say "how was you summer?" she noticed how upset he looked. "What's wrong?" she changed direction mid-topic. Something was obviously wrong.

Elliot took the tissue cautiously. The gooey substance looked like neither gel or watery. Elliot sniffed the tissue, and her nose immediately felt like it was on fire! She quickly rubbed it on her hands and scowled.

"Don't smell that stuff! It hurts your nose!" she complained, wondering vaguely whether this "santernizer" stuff really worked. It seemed too muggle and non-magical to be very efficient. The substance made her hands feel very cold and then it dried up, or it seemed to. She had to admit, her hands did seem to feel a lot, well, cleaner. Good.

"Yeah, I am completely starving! But if the plates aren't cleaned, and the food appears...well...I might go hungry tonight," she told Gaby, her eyes squinted in disgust and her nose turned up as if she was smelling something foul. Elliot, the girl who was used to pristine cleanliness all the time hated being dirty...and hated dirt itself. Yuck.

A small breath escaped her lips in a little rush as Dallin actually agreed with her idea. Her fingertips came up to her mouth for a split second-Had she been holding her breath?! Realizing the action probably looked odd, she wiggled her nose. People got random nose tickles all the time...right? Sometimes? Hopefully, it looked legitimate at least.

Watching him fiddle with his fork, she felt the corners of her mouth turn upwards. "Cool it's a..plan." Because it was. A plan. Not anything else. Just a preconceived notion of the future possibility of meeting up. That's all.

Dark lashes blinked over her eyes in sudden bewilderment forgetting about the fork. She hadn't realized how much body language came across in a regular conversation until she noticed his smile disappear. Wait...what about her prefect duties.

He had a point.

Worrying her bottom lip for a second, she looked around at the multitudes of students and gave a weak chuckle. "Wow, spaced out for a second." Shaking her head in disbelief, she went on. "It pretty much entitles walking the new students to the common room," Realizing exactly how many new students were Ravenclaws, she turned towards him again a bit hesitantly. "If by any chance you planned to make a quick pit stop there," All the way on the seventh floor. "and don't mind the wait, I'm up for heading there straight afterwards?" If you are? being of course the unsaid question.

Jezabel smiled as she let the goblet fall a few meters down the table. She quickly consulted the spellbook for the perfect wand movement, and swished her wand. "Accio goblet!" She smiled again as the goblet flew towards her. So, Keegan's spells did work! That was a relief - most didn't, or else they had rather unpleasant consequences.
Jezabel tapped the goblet. "Aguamenti!" Water filled the cup. Jezabel realised she was showing off, blushed a deep red, and delved back into her book, sipping the water as she read, trying to learn the Alohomora charm.

"You're a really quick learner! No wonder you're in Ravenclaw!" Jayden said excitedly.

So it seemed that she'd forgotten about being a Prefect. Or at least she'd spaced it for a little. Dallin started to smirk again, looking at the table to hide it. Although he couldn't blame her if she had; he didn't think he'd like to be the one in charge of showing new students to the common room. He liked having the freedom to hang around the Great Hall for a bit and wander idly up to the common room.

He tipped his head sideways at her, resting it on a hand that he had propped up on the table. He didn't really want to go all the way up there just to come back down, but... sure, why not. It would be better than just waiting for her. "Yeah, that works for me," he told her, his tone bright. Besides, there had to be something he could do up there that made the trip worth while. Like say a quick hello to Ellie, who seemed to have disappeared since the train.

Or... take off his tie. He pulled on it lightly, wanting to take it off now. But, no. He'd just wait til he got up to his dorm. He sat up straight again, looking up at the Staff table for a moment before returning his attention to Ivory. "You're not too worried about going to sleep early or anything, right?" Just to make sure. He didn't know how long this investigation would take.

Theodore, taking a napkin to wipe some pumpkin juice from the corner of his mouth, took a look at a student he hadn't seen before. He looked a bit lost, yet also ravenous. Dare Theo speak to him and risk getting his arm gnawed off by a student who mistook it for a chicken leg? He dared, indeed. "Hello there," Theodore said, covering his mouth with a napkin for a moment as he finished chewing. "Have you tried the mixed vegetables? Usually I detest the sprouts but they're actually quite delicious." Food talk: the way to get friendly with any member of the male species.

Spotting a Slytherin, he rose an eyebrow at the new girl. Did she dinf Ravenclaws offensive? Apparently not, since she decided to take a seat. Bringing his goblet of pumpkin juice to his lips, he sipped slowly as he observed the newcomer. "Couldn't find your table?" He mused, setting the goblet back onto the table. "Or do you just prefer Ravenclaw to your own house?" A small smirk flitted across his face for a short moment.

Daniel saw the disapointment on the first year. He felt really bad for her, he'd been fragile back then. Scared and loathing of hogwarts. He'd make up for it later.

But this girl! Too many fiesty girls at hogwarts. What had happened to the quite one's?. Daniel raised an eyebrow, ”Me? Who puts their robes on another chair. You should have looked where you put your robe!” To be honest, this arguement was pointless but he wasn't gonna stop till she said sorry. ”Marshmellow? I could have cracked my skull. That floor is rock hard!” If she'd been a boy he would have pushed her to prove it could hurt. Of cource he wouldn't let them fall to the ground. Cracked skulls were far from fun.

Angelina walked over to the Ravenclaw table, as like the other table to say hi, to her new classmates.

Returning to the Ravenclaw table after wandering around the Great Hall for a bit, Vashti suddenly spotted someone she hadn't seen in what felt like a LONG time. She walked over there quickly and plopped herself down on the seat beside her friend. "Hey Victoria!" she said, grinning. "Long time no see!"



Vashti smiled. Eventful and delightful. Well that was quite an original answer. She started to set down the spoon she'd been holding just as she noticed he was looking at it. Oh yeah, the silverware. Perhaps he had an idea as to why it was all like this? Vashti was about to ask when...

But before she could ask about that, Ellie popped up. "Hey Ellie!" Vashti grinned as she returned her fellow Ravenclaw's hug, noticing that she was holding a familiar backpack. She was so distracted by it that she didn't notice Ellie kiss Eino's head, nor did she see Eino's adorable reaction.

That backpack. Wasn't it Jacob's? He'd carried it around all the time when he was Captain. So why did Ellie have-

Vashti's Ravenclaw brain finally put two and two together, and her grin widened. "Are you the new Captain?" She just HAD to be. And it was awesome.

She tuned back into the conversation just as the silverware was brought up. Scourgify? "It should work," she agreed with a nod. Cleaning things was what the spell did, after all. If it worked on cauldrons, surely it would work on silverware too.

"There are alot of people talking about it here too. Didn't they clean it before it got put out here?" Temperance asks as she looks at the silverware in front of her.

"Yeah the staircases do seem confusing. Cool, yeah it'll be easy to find then. I think the Ravenclaw common room is in a tower."

Louisa rolled her eyes at him. She really didn't want another Jonathan in her life...or another Enya...or another Ryden... okay, she might rethink about choosing her friends later but now, this situation was getting absurd. "I'm sorry, all right?! I'm just not feeling so good." She blurted out staring down at the table and all the dirty silverware.

Taking a fork to stare at it, she added, "You think scourgify spell can make them cleaner?" So suddenly changing the subject. "The professors might've used that." She looked at him thoughtfully, "Do they even care? I mean a lot of them are new at Hogwarts." Pausing a bit, she added randomly, "Are you new at Hogwarts?" Because she knew a lot of Ravenclaws but this boy definitely isn't on the list.

"At the Slytherin table I heard someone say the house elves are on strike thats why all the plates and silverware is dirty. I don't know but thats just what I heard a few people say it does make sense though" Chelsea said.

"Cool I bet the Ravenclaw tower is really nice. I'm a little nervous to see the Slytherin common room since its in the dungeons. But I heard its under the lake and you can see everything underwater through the windows" she said. She couldn't wait to see the common room and wondered if all of her stuff was already in there.
