As you enter the Muggle Studies classroom, you instantly notice that it has been changed to match the lesson again. The room seems to go on forever and each wall is covered by mirrors. The floor is a hardwood floor and there are chairs lining the west and east walls. In the distance, you can hear a variety of Muggle songs playing. They all have a great rhythm that make you want to jump up and dance.
From the ceiling is hanging a mirrored ball, also known as a Disco Ball. There are also a variety of lights and laser machines hanging around the room. The lights are just dimmed slightly.
In the middle of the room on the East side, there is a break in the chairs and there is a table covered with Muggle refreshments. This time there are no cokes or sodas. This time there are bottles of water and Gatorade and a huge punch bowl full of a pink punch. The bowl has been charmed to instantly refill itself when it gets low. The water and Gatorade are iced down and have been charmed to refill as well. There is also a cake in the shape of a musical note but it is encased in a safety charm to insure that no one touches it until the time has come.
In the middle of the room on the West side, there is a break in the chairs where a dry erase board sits. On the board, the professor has left the following note:
Quote:

Marilyn smirked, pleased that the lesson was a lively one. Those were always the most interesting to be a part of.
Raising her hand, again..."The Argentine Tango..." It was her favorite, after all...and she had a lot of experience with various types of ballroom.

Carter's eyes widened with each new passing magic dance that was named. How was it that after being at Hogwarts for so long he still didn't know anything?
Oh well...
Muggle dances! He could name those! Except... everyone was taking the good ones. Finally seeing an opening his hand shot up. "There's different cultural ones... like rain dances!"
Rain dances he was going to make Destiny do. Why? Because they were brilliant. And because she thought that they made it rain chocolate.

Gemma smiled as the students started naming what seemed like a neverending list of Wizard dances. As they said each one, she wrote each on the dry erase board in her curvy and curly handwriting. As she wrote each name, the board was charmed to put them in ABC order.
When they had a substantial list, she turned towards the students with a smile. "Great job! I have to admit that I haven't even heard of some of these dances...it might be fun to see if the History of Magic professor or one of the professors that teachers a more Wizard centered class would be willing to teach these to us..." she glanced at the list again, "because some of these some pretty crazy interesting..." she said with a little nod.
She glanced up and down the rows of faces that seemed pretty excited and asked the next question, "Now I know not everyone is going to know the answer to this one, so don't fret or worry if you don't have an answer." she turned towards the board and flipped it over so that a clean dry-erase board was there. "Can anyone name any Muggle dances, such as the Chicken Dance or the Cha-Cha Slide?" she said as she wrote the first two on the board to start off their list of Muggle Dances.

Muggle dances? That wouldn't be too hard would it...Naww it would especially since the more well known dances had already been answered. Wait but there was a perfect dance that Ness had thought of she would just have to explain a little. She raised her hand and waited. "Professor theres the Sakkie-Sakkie." she looked at Profesor waiting for a blank expression. "Its a sort of slow dance that is danced in partners. It orginated in South Africa" Yep her home place. "and it is still danced at parties and celebration's there nowadays."And that was her answer hopefully the Proffessor would have liked it.To be honest she had never danced the Sakkie-Sakkie before but she had heard of it and she had seen it on t.v a few times.
Wait. Howcome the Profesor hadn't noticed the monster suits yet. The Proffessor was either becoming blind or was maybe just trying not to humilate Ness and Aaaron, not that Aaron looked humiliated in his suit. Anyway, Nessie preffered it better that the Profesor didn't comment.
William raised his hand." I know a lot of muggle dances, mam" William told the professor. " Since I am only allowed to give one, this is a really fun dance with some exercise thrown in, too" William explained to the professor. " The muggle dance I am talking about is " The Twist" William said to the professor.

From her spot on the floor, Mina raised her hand. There were a lot of answers that she had heard, all of them being good, but instead of offering something that was safe; she wanted to go another direction. "How about the Sakura? It's another kind of cultural dance."
That one always did interest her and she really didn't want to offer what would have been expected for her. Ballet and the viennese waltz would have just been safe answers.
After Wizard dances, and there were so many of them! came the muggle dances! Ira's hand excitedly shot into the air "Professor, there's the Flamenco which is a Spanish dance." Ira absolutely loved it! "Its very beautiful to watch with all its rhythmic and intricate movements!" True that it was essentially a Spanish dance, it was famous world-wide..
Listening to all the dance talk going on she wanted to just start dancing...

Selina looked up at the board and read all of the names of Wizard dances that were listed. She did not know that nearly that many existed. The only ones she knew were the Common Wizard Dances that she had grown up with. Maybe, if she had time, she would invest in finding out more about some of the more obscure Wizard dances. Although she probably wouldn't... nope yeah definately wouldn't.
Then she asked about Muggle dances and Selina was at a loss. She didn't know what Muggles danced like or what they called their dances. It was not something she had grown up with so it was not extremely important to her knowing different types. Now she wished she had payed more attention. But then she remembered that she was best friend's with a dancer. Violet Le Veela was a dancer and their had to be something she had said once that Selina could use. She timdly rose her hand, "Ma'am? I think there is something called pointe dance... I'm not certain."

Ooo, that would be really cool if they could eventually learn some of the wizarding dances for they sounded as though they'd be quite fun to do, not to mention a great source of exercise!
When the professor asked for names of Muggle dances, Kourt's hand shot up. "There are many line dances, but my favorite is Footloose!" The dance could be quite a workout, as was the electric slide (the hip-hop version), as previously mentioned by another student.
Her hand lowered and she looked around the room, listening to the answers of the others. She could hardly wait to get started!
Isabelle raised her hand quickly. She couldn't really think of any specific dances that hadn't been named already but had some other ideas. "There is classical ballet," Isabelle said. She had learned that as a child because much of the ballet language was French. "I think it is probably one of the oldest forms of dance and originates in France."

Keefer loooooooved to dance! He raised his hand and began to talk very quickly. "There's the twist, the chicken dance, the Macarena, square dancing or line dancing, and jazzercise!" He wasn't too sure about that last one, but saw it on one of those Muggle telly-vision contraptions.
Oooh this was what Mia had been waiting for. She knew so many muggle dances. Destiny and herself had performed quite a few of them at that costume party. And speaking of Destiny, she knew the perfect one to mention, so she quickly raised her hand in the air only to be beaten by the little Slytherin girl.
Aww she had wanted to say the mashed potato. No matter, she had many more. "There's the 'hitchhiker' Professor."

Everett didn't know a whole lot of muggle dances, though from his brief time in muggle schooling, he had learnt and heard of a few when he was forced to do dance class in his younger years. Most had already been mentioned that he knew, but he did remember one that he didn't think had been mentioned, so he raised his hand to answer, "Uhh, the Nutbush is one, I think that is what it's called."
A ship in harbor is safe — but that is not what ships are built for.
Victoria thought hard this time. Because she's not too familiar with the muggle dances. Seriously who would remember any muggle dances? The silly muggles often give their dances weird names, like the one that professor said, the cha-cha slide? The chicken dance?
Maybe she does know one, and it's the only one she can think of. Victoria had heard some of her muggle neighbors dancing to that song years ago. "The Cupid Shuffle?" said Victoria. "It's a song but there is also a dance to it." And she still don't understand why doing muggle dances will help her with anything.

Maybelle giggled at the silly wizard dances that people came up with. She heard someone say pointe. "Pointe is a kind of ballet." She said, looking at the girl that spoke about pointe. She raised her hand. "Lyrical. It's sort of like ballet and jazz mixed. But you dance to the lyrics of the song, and it tends to be a darker type of dance." She nodded, knowing she was right.

Oh. No!
Destiny was in some sort of dilemma!
She knew quite a few muggle dances, none that were mentioned, and she didn't know which one she wanted to mention. Why couldn't the Professor have said they could mention two? Standing on the little dot next to Mia, Destiny shifted her weight from foot to foot, probably resembling half of the dances already mentioned.
Whiiich to saaaay..
Her hand finally shot up in the air, "THE PENCIL!" And she kept her hand raised. Could she say another!?

Marie wasn't so good at muggle dances. She only knew the names of a few of them. A couple of them being the crazy dances she had seen Destiny and Mia doing. Now if only she could remember the name of at least one of those dances.
Looking over at her friends she pictured in her head some of the crazy moves they had been doing. "Oh, I got it." She said as her hand shot up in the air. "There's this dance called theflobberworm."

Erm...
The Chicken Dance and the Cha-Cha Slide were the only two Sierra could name, and that was only because the professor had just mentioned them. "Professor Cerulean?" Sierra asked, her hand in the air. "I don't...know any Muggle dances." Right. This was the point and time when her being raised in a strictly pureblood, magical home didn't help matters in Muggle Studies class. "Last school year, though, I did a few twirls out on the ground with Mr. Stryker. As part of Minister Borr's homework, I mean."

Walking to her little dot on the floor, Marilyn tried to think of another one. What was that dance that Rebecca had tried teaching her? It was completely absurd.
Raising her hand, again..."The Wobble?" Or had it been the wubble?

Muggle dances. He knew this...kind of. Kennedy raised his hand and said, "There's Square dancing," he offered. He's seen that in a movie and his mom had tried to make him mimic the actors, which he totally failed to do.
