As you enter the Muggle Studies classroom, you instantly notice that it has been changed to match the lesson again. The room seems to go on forever and each wall is covered by mirrors. The floor is a hardwood floor and there are chairs lining the west and east walls. In the distance, you can hear a variety of Muggle songs playing. They all have a great rhythm that make you want to jump up and dance.
From the ceiling is hanging a mirrored ball, also known as a Disco Ball. There are also a variety of lights and laser machines hanging around the room. The lights are just dimmed slightly.
In the middle of the room on the East side, there is a break in the chairs and there is a table covered with Muggle refreshments. This time there are no cokes or sodas. This time there are bottles of water and Gatorade and a huge punch bowl full of a pink punch. The bowl has been charmed to instantly refill itself when it gets low. The water and Gatorade are iced down and have been charmed to refill as well. There is also a cake in the shape of a musical note but it is encased in a safety charm to insure that no one touches it until the time has come.
In the middle of the room on the West side, there is a break in the chairs where a dry erase board sits. On the board, the professor has left the following note:
Quote:
Welcome to our second Muggle Studies Lesson!!!
Please come in and have a seat in one of the chairs lining the walls! Also don't forget to grab a drink from the refreshment table. Trust me you are going to need it....

"Good morning Professor Cerulean."Raven greeted her nice. She didn't want to miss the Muggle Studies lesson. It's about dance! Some of her muggle friends had taught her breakdance, street dance and some hip-hop dance. She entered the classroom and amazed.
"Wow, Does is a class or party?" asked her. Then she saw Lana there.
"Hey Lanaa!!"
Lana saw Raven walk in and waved. "Hey Raven! I was beginning to wonder when someone I know was gonna walk in!" she said chuckling.
She noticed her friend's attire. "hey! I've seen your look before.. but I can't remember where." She slightly frowned. This was going to bug her until she figured it out. Nothing bugged her more than knowing something and not being able to remember what it is.

She picked a can of coke and found a seat and settled herself down a bit.
Lana saw another one of her friends enter in and sat down a little down from where she was. She waved to Tiffany and smiled. "Psst.. Tiffany! You can come sit her if you like," she said as she pointed at a chair nearby.

She walked over to one, and heard the teacher say it was a dancing class..
Maybe it wouldn't be that great. She was terrible at dancing, well actually she had just never really tried. Oh a wizard dance.. she knew one! "There's the Troll Tango Professor." she said with a small smile, it was fun to watch, but she really hoped they weren't doing it.
Desiree! Gosh, I haven't seen her in awhile! She waved frantically at her friend and gave her a quick hug. "Hey, nice to see you!" she exclaimed as she stuck her tongue out at her friend. It's been awhile since she's been to classes due to her scales. Something she wanted to forget now and laugh about later.
As soon as the professor started talking, Lana ceased hers and paid attention. Dots? She walked over to the one next to Desiree and shot her an apprehensive look. She still wasn't sure what the class was about. She just wasn't paying close enough attention.
Name a dance move?! Merlin's Beard. Today is about dancing?! Lana wished she could leave. Dancing just wasn't her cup of tea. She figured it'd be rude if she just left, so she decided to stay. The professor seemed nice, so she didn't want to hurt her feelings. Now as for a dance move. Lana spent a minute or so trying to remember that silly dance move her brother used to do when he was just being goofy. What did he call it? What did he call it? When it came to her mind, Lana raised her hand and waited for the professor to call on her.
"Professor, have you heard of the Tarantula Roll?"

Gemma smiled at each of the students as they entered the classroom and she even ignored the chitter chatter...there seemed to be an extra lot today but she was hoping that maybe the excitement of her class was encouraging some of it.
She walked towards the board with the welcome message and then turned towards all of the students, "Welcome everyone!!!! Will you please all start finding a seat against one of the walls and all conversations should end right now so we can get started..." she said sweetly with a little nod. She gave the students a few minutes to get settled and then continued.
"I'm sure you have all noticed the drastic change of the classroom." she said spreading her arms out to signal the mirrors and the hardwood floors and the lack of desks. "Well, today we are going to focus on something really fun and exciting from the Muggle world." she said with a little wink.
"Just like in the Wizard world, the Muggles have a variety of dances that they always seem to work into their major dances at school, weddings, birthday parties, etc. These dances are very interesting and tons of fun!" she said with a flick of her wand. "And what makes these dances even better is that the majority of them are easy to learn and you don't have to be a dancing expert or even novice to get them!" she said excitedly to ease the nerves of those students that might be nervous about dancing.
She smiled and glanced up and down the classroom and with a flick of her wand dots about a foot wide appeared evenly spread out on the hardwood floor. "Okay if everyone will get up, and quietly, head towards a dot on the floor....then we'll get started learning some of the dances."
She gave the students a few minutes to find a dot and she monitored them closely to make sure that the students weren't talking...she knew if she let them talk on this first move the rest of the class would be a disaster of talking.
Once she was sure everyone had a spot on the floor, she turned around and erased the board and then grabbed another marker.
"Let's start by listing some Wizard dances that we do at dances and events, such as the Hippogriff Shuffle..." she said with a nod and then she turned and wrote that on the board. "Can anyone name some other dances...remember to only name one and don't repeat others' answers."
OOC: Okey dokey...I'm going to give you a little bit of time to RP moving to your dots and then giving answers....now you can be as creative as you like with your dance names...I mean I made up the Hippogriff Shuffle. Just have fun with this. Remember NO TALKING, RAISE YOUR HAND, ONLY ONE ANSWER PER PERSON, and DON'T REPEAT OTHERS' ANSWERS (which shouldn't happen with this one since you're just making up dances)
See you in a few!
Tayla smiled and moved to one of the dots. She loved dancing! Although she was more accustomed to Muggle dances, she did remember seeing a picture of her grandparents' wedding day - mother's side, so they were witch and wizard. Tayla had asked her mother what step they were doing in the picture.
"The Veela Pas de Deux," Tayla said as she raised her hand.

Tiffany was heading to the dot which the professor had given to each of the student when she heard someone calling her name, kind of like a whisper. She turned around and noticed Lana, her best friend, waving to her. Since the professor asked them not to talk, Tiffany gave a sign to Lana which meant okay. Of course she wanted to sit besides her! She smiled as she tiptoed to the chair besides Lana's in order not to cause any attention from the professor.
"I haven't seen you for a long time, Lana,"Tiffany whispered. She then raised up her hand and answered the professor's question,"Is there one kind of dance called the Twinkle Waltz?" Tiffany was unsure about her answer since she rarely danced.

Gemma smiled as the students started naming what seemed like a neverending list of Wizard dances. As they said each one, she wrote each on the dry erase board in her curvy and curly handwriting. As she wrote each name, the board was charmed to put them in ABC order.

When they had a substantial list, she turned towards the students with a smile. "Great job! She glanced up and down the rows of faces that seemed pretty excited and asked the next question, "Now I know not everyone is going to know the answer to this one, so don't fret or worry if you don't have an answer." she turned towards the board and flipped it over so that a clean dry-erase board was there. "Can anyone name any Muggle dances, such as the Chicken Dance or the Cha-Cha Slide?" she said as she wrote the first two on the board to start off their list of Muggle Dances.

Alyssa wasn't sure whethere she was supposed to move to another dot, so she stayed where she was and raised her hand and said, "Professor, I've heard of the Macarena. The moves are easy to remember and do".
Louisa sure knew a lot of cool muggle dances! She smiled, happy to be able to bring that side of her life over to Hogwarts, and shot her hand into the air, "There is the Macarena dance, professor!" The Macarena dance to Macarena song, yep, it was really fun and easy to do... also it didn't require fitness or long legs and such - it was Louisa's favorite.
ooc: Oopsies, sorry I repeated an answer but I hadn't seen the post before me until I posted. O__o

Cass laughed again as she listened to her classmates answered. The professor was right, some - ok, most - of them sounded absolutely crazy. The unicorn hop was totally sane sounding compared to those.
She teetered on her dot for a moment, trying to think back to the small amount of failed dance lessons that she had to go through with her mother. Meh.
"Uh. Is the waltz a muggle dance, Professor?" She asked with a tentative smile. She was pretty sure her mother mentioned it in passing...it was a very boring, very dizzying dance.
Muggle dance moves? Eino wasn't very sure, but he had learned from the dance lessons with the groundskeeper that just like in the Wizard World, Muggles also named their dances after objects and creatures and all sorts of things from their own world. All Eino could do was guess something that he had heard from the Muggle world and hope it could be a dance move... If it wasn't could he even be wrong, anyway? Maybe he could make it into a dance move, so this was a win-win situation. That was what he loved so much about Professor Cerulean's classes, it was acceptable to be a little silly with minimal risk of embarrassment. He raised his hand "What about the.. The ummm, the sprinklur!" Did he pronounce that right? He could remember the little Muggle gadgets that popped out from the ground and watered the plants in Muggle lawns and gardens. That could be a dance, right? Do the sprinkler?

Muggle dances. Hmm... That's kinda hard. Well, to Jonathan it is. Luckily for him, he had a traveled with his uncle 2 years ago and came across a very awesome and somehow weird dance. Jonathan raised his hand to answer "B-Boy" yup. that was the dance. He can remember the name clearly since, he asked his uncle.

Good Merlin, everyone just erupted with answers when the Professor asked if they could name wizard dances. It was best just to sit back and listen than try to answer. Couldn't even think of one fast enough before someone named it anyway.
Crossing her legs and arms, her gaze may have wandered around and perhaps landed on that cake. Hmmm. What if someone were to...accidentally...tip the table over- oh! New question. Yes, she raised her hand for this one. At least before anyone could name practically the one weird dance she knew that was at least somewhat strictly...muggle. "I heard there was a dance called the Robot." Seriously.

Great Godric Gryffindor! She was right? Kurumi had totally made up the wizarding dance since she had no clue on the subject. The Professor's comment about not everyone being able to answer her next question made her nearly snort. Strangely enough, this was the topic she had no problem answering. The previous had been one where she had entirely made up. Hehe.
Kurumi scrambled to write down the list on the board in her notebook with her pencil and would have to ask someone to teach her some of them at a later date. Kurumi really didn't know much about dances to be performed at balls or other such events, but she knew some forms of dance that she performed back home. "There is a dance called Soran Bushi," she said with her hand in the air. It was a dance that she performed often at festivals and required a lot of physical strength, especially with ones knees. "It's a dance with a deep history, based on fishermen. The movements depict fishermen dragging nets, pulling ropes and carrying luggage over their shoulders."

Now... muggle dances?
Well, of course. They were at the Muggle Studies class, weren't they?
However, Nora knew one that had not been mentioned, so she raised her hand. "The court dance? I'm not sure if that's the name, though," she said, lowering her hand. Court dance or not, she meant the one back in the 15th or 16th century or so. The professor should know.

Thea's hand shot up,clapping her hands in excitment Thea grinned. 'There's the dance to the song called 'Saturday Night' professor.' She had learnt this one at a sleepover with her Muggle friends. They were actually not at all normal..
Making a mental note tot jot down notes at the end of class, THea bounced on the balls of her feet, eager to start the dancing..
Scott smiled as he saw the dance he mentioned being written on the board.
He wasn't sure whether it was right or not, but at least the professor had thought it was right.
Muggle dances?
This is where Erin, or Aurora would come in handy. He searched and searched until he finally found one that was perfect for the lesson.
He raised his hand "The Can-Can miss?"
Lilly's hand shot up. "The electric slide, professor!" Lilly knew loads of muggle dances. She remembered this from a muggle sleepover she'd been to. Lilly smiled at the thought. It was one of her favorite dances ever.

Ainsley's hand was about to shoot up with the answer 'robot', but someone had beaten her to that. Umm... that was always her party move at any kind of muggle shin-dig, so it took her a while to think of another. Dancing wasn't her forte, to be quite honest.
Urm.... She raised her hand quite confidently, but was still a bit unsure on this one. "...Is Irish dancing one?" Ainsley had never tried it herself, as it looked like it required too much energy and skill. But maybe it could be fun.
... Meh.
