As you enter the Muggle Studies classroom, you instantly notice that it has been changed to match the lesson again. The room seems to go on forever and each wall is covered by mirrors. The floor is a hardwood floor and there are chairs lining the west and east walls. In the distance, you can hear a variety of Muggle songs playing. They all have a great rhythm that make you want to jump up and dance.
From the ceiling is hanging a mirrored ball, also known as a Disco Ball. There are also a variety of lights and laser machines hanging around the room. The lights are just dimmed slightly.
In the middle of the room on the East side, there is a break in the chairs and there is a table covered with Muggle refreshments. This time there are no cokes or sodas. This time there are bottles of water and Gatorade and a huge punch bowl full of a pink punch. The bowl has been charmed to instantly refill itself when it gets low. The water and Gatorade are iced down and have been charmed to refill as well. There is also a cake in the shape of a musical note but it is encased in a safety charm to insure that no one touches it until the time has come.
In the middle of the room on the West side, there is a break in the chairs where a dry erase board sits. On the board, the professor has left the following note:

Welcome to our second Muggle Studies Lesson!!!
Please come in and have a seat in one of the chairs lining the walls! Also don't forget to grab a drink from the refreshment table. Trust me you are going to need it....
Class will begin shortly!

Please come in and have a seat. You may chat but keep it to a minimum. Remember that when class starts, you need to cut out chatting. Also don't post yourself coming in late, Gemma hates late arrivals and will not give you a warning, she will deduct points from the first time you are late.

Kourtney laughed quietly as the professor announced that they'd be doing the chicken dance. That dance was so much fun! And everyone looked so silly so it really didn't matter if you messed up or added your own fun moves to it. Still grinning, she watched the video to refresh her memory.
When it was time to demonstrate, she listened to a few chords of the song before starting. Beak shape with the hands, opening and closing them for four beats. Then chicken wings flapping up and down for four beats.
Then twisting of arms and a twist downward for another four beats, and then Clap, Clap, Clap, Clap!
With a laugh of delight, she continued to repeat the four steps to the beat of the music.. Beak, wings, twist, and clap!!

Mina watched it a bit of horror as they learned the dance. Were they seriously going to actually be doing that?!?! Yes, she had heard about it and thought it was an odd idea for a dance, but never did she think that she would be doing it.
Her own sense of adventure was trying to compel her to give it a try, but she wasn't having it. She didn't want to look like a fool at the moment. No, her sense of self-preservation was getting in the way for sure.
Glancing around at her fellow classmates, she frowned. Looking like a fool wasn't high on her list at the moment and she knew dancing would make her look bad, but not dancing at all wasn't the answer either.
Swallowing her pride, she slowly brought her hands up and opened them like beaks and preceded to slowly dance to the ridiculous music.
Kennedy's eyes widened when he saw the professor dancing. Were they supposed to do that? At the thought of him doing those moves he felt his face grow warm. The worst part was that they were going to have to do that in front of everyone. Gasp.
This is all for a grade. Taking that as a comforting though, Kennedy tucked his arms inward, resembling the wing of a chicken and began to flap.

Nora's eyes went as wide as they could go when she'd seen that video, and then... her eyes went even wider when the professor started dancing... like a chicken. Not that Nora didn't like to dance, but not like... THAT.
But apparently she had to.
Following the others' example, she started to flap her arm-wings, but she was SO not doing the other... thing. Too bad she didn't have a tail to wiggle it around. Heh.
Chicken dance? That's soo embarrassing! Oh Ira didn't want to perform in class now! She was a little shy. She watched the others who had already starting dancing... The senior students had funny expressions on their faces! They all were looking silly!
Well at least Ira wouldn't be the only one looking silly! She giggled a bit on seeing others and picturing herself doing it! On top of it, the Mirrors! She didn't really want to see herself doing it!
She listened to the song and started with the dancing...First the beaks. She brought her hands up and opening her fingers and closing them four times to form the shape of a beak. She definitely did not want to see herself in the mirror right now!

Destiny could hardly contain her excitement, not only because she knew how to do the dance, but because her inner chicken had been.. clucking to be released for some time now. And if it weren't for the little white dot that they had to stand on, she would have Chicken Danced her way up and down the room. Dragging Mia with her, of course. Because her friend knew that dance, too. And speaking of her friend, she gave her a gentle elbow to the side.
"Mia, Mia, Mia, MiaMiaMia! IT'S THE CHICKEN DANCE!" Just in case she wasn't paying attention.
Loosening her limbs up while the Professor demonstrated, she didn't need to pay attention, she was the Chicken Dance expert, Destiny glanced around the room, frowning at everyone who seemed less than pleased to do the dance. They were party poopers and..

She peeked a glance in the mirror and saw herself dancing this silly chicken dance! She giggled seeing how funny she and the others looked! Especially the professor!
Again she began the same routine...Beak Beak, the dropping her hands and bringing them shoulder level and elbows out, the Flap movement
Then came the twist..Twist right, then Twist left and then Clap Clap. Ira was actually enjoying it... Wish all classes were just about dancing and having fun! That would be heaven for sure!

They were going to do some dancing and not just ANY dancing either. It was the CHICKEN DANCE!!! It was one of her all time favourite dances. Oooh Mia couldn't wait to get started. It brought back memories of that costume party three years ago. When she and Destiny had performed that very dance.
Before she could even squeal in her friend's ear, Destiny was already elbowing her. "I KNOW!!!! she replied with an excited shriek.
And there was no need to watch the demonstration. She was an EXPERT at this. But she did follow Destiny's lead and began limbering up. They had to look professional in front of the other students. Their reputations were on the line.
Wheee!! The music had started.
Beak, Beak, Beak.
Flap, Flap, Fap
Twist
Clap, clap, clap, clap.
Looking over to Destiny, Mia grinned. "We should so have a dance off!" They would win for sure.

Chicken dance. Carter knew this one. In fact, he knew all the ones on the list. Why did he ever think this class was useless? It would have been an easy OWL!
Then his eyes settled on Destiny and Mia. They looked like they'd been doing this for years! He got distracted while watching them and soon found himself off-beat.
He was off-beat during the chicken dance! Whoops. He had to stop and start again.
And he also had to find something else to watch.

Orr giggled quietly to herself as soon as she heard Prof. Cerulean announce that they were going to do the Chicken dance. All the pureblood students and maybe some of the half-bloods weren't going to know what hit them. It was personally one of her favorite dances and she had just recently danced it at a family occasion over the recent holidays.
The music started and she started swaying gently before she got serious and started doing the steps while grinning at some of the others' movements. It really wasn't a serious dance so people could have fun with it.
Beak Beak Beck, flap flap flap, twist to the right, twist to the left, twist back to the right and then clap clap clap and clap. She added to herself quietly giggling, "And that's what it is all about."
Chicken dance? Armpit scratching, elbow flapping and body shaking chicken dance? To Eino, this was translated into awesome dragon dance. Maybe it could be some a secret ritual dance to domesticate dragons, or maybe it was just a pointless dance. Regardless, he was going to try it, even though he was a little worried to admit to wanting to try it.
He stood up and stretched his arms and legs, of course. Always had to do that before exercising. Then the music began to play and he began to dance. First it was the beak move with both hands, then he tucked his hands under his armpits and flapped his elbows like they were wings. Flap, flap, flap. The music really helped get the moves right at the right time. Then he did the little body twist-shake thing, that was his favorite part, and finally he clapped. But the music didn't stop, so he didn't stop dancing.

Seeing that moving picture MOVE and TALK just the muggle box, Evelyn shifted uncomfortably in her seat as she stared at the moving picture and everyone else. The girl didn't even have to urge to snort or laugh at how one actually did this supposed 'chicken dance'. Not when everyone could be turned into muggles in the blink of an eye.
When it was over though and the Professor started teaching them, Evelyn once again...shifted uncomfortably in her seat. Was it just her or was everyone else weirded out seeing a professor dancing? Especially that dance.
Nevertheless, just so Professor Cerulean wouldn't show the video again, the Slytherin girl stood up and lazily did the dance.
Beak beak beak...
Flap flap flap...
Wiggle wiggle wiggle...
Stare.
What in the world?
Narrowing her eyes, she flapped flapped flapped all the way towards Carter, and nudged him in the side with her elbow. Yea, she heard those nicknames he and Destiny had. Why was he staring at her too now?! HMMM!?
Really? The dance they were shown seemed to be the most ridiculous thing Ashley had seen in a long time. Of course, this was probably because he didn't pay much attention at any of those wedding parties he'd been to. Certainly, some of the dances performed there could have been just as or more embarrassing.
But Ashley didn't mind doing silly things, as long as he wasn't the only one. And this was for a good cause, after all. Class participation was very important. So he watched, trying to pretend the mirrors weren't there, because having to watch himself do this would probably kill his willingness to do it.
After watching the demonstration, and trying to memorize the order the steps went in, he got down to business, completely off-beat, due to moving entirely too slow. But he found that he didn't exactly care. Everyone else was doing it, and so they were probably too caught up in their own dancing to care about his. At least, that was what he was telling himself as he flapped and clapped (quietly) to the music.
Scott stood, alone above his dot. He was watching over Jez and laughing as she flapped, twisted, and clapped with the music.
She looked like she was having fun! What harm could it do?
He walked over, stood besides her and started mimicking her moves. How incredibly embarrassing.

Alyssa looked around and saw that most of the students were having as much fun as she was. Dancing to the beat of the music, she danced the Chicken Dance
Alyssa was definitely enjoying herself. She was glad that this was the dance they were doing now. Except for the twirling your partner around part, she wasn't required to move her legs, which was good, because her knee was starting to throb more now.

Jez laughed as Scott tried it too. "That's it!" He looked utterly embarrassed, but he was keeping it up. She stuck her tongue out at him as she danced, a challenge to do it better than her. Gemma flicked her wand and instantly all of the student's answers for Muggle Dances appeared on the blank dry erase board.
She glanced over the list with a smile and then turned back to the class. "Yes yes yes, very good everyone! These are all great examples of Muggle dances. " she waved her hand and the four screens dropped from the ceiling and unfolded quickly. Under each screen was a name of a Muggle Dance: Chicken Dance, Cha Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, and Bunny Hop.
She smiled at the class, "Now just like we have traditions that we do at weddings and dances and events so do Muggles. And many of these traditions have to do with crazy dances that the Muggles do just for fun. Some of these dances are more embarrassing than others but they are all in good faith. " she paused and walked towards the first screen that said Chicken Dance under it.
"The first dance we are going to learn is the chicken dance. " she waved her hand and a video played with an example of the chicken dance. "Now remember these are all in good fun and this dance really doesn't require you to have any major dance ability just the willingness to laugh and have fun." she paused as the video started.
As soon as she was done showing each of the moves she turned back to the students and then said, "Okay let's give it a try..." instantly the music started going very slowly and it was time to do the Chicken Dance.
OOC: Alright everyone have fun RPing learning and doing the Chicken Dance. I'll be back in the morning and we'll start our next dance...have fun with this but keep you talking to a minimum....*huggles*

Seriously?! The chicken dance? Here he thought they were going to dance a different think, like waltz or a line dance or a traditional British folk dance. But no. The professor picked... a chicken dance. Jonathan tried to look as casual but he was pretty much horrified deep inside. This dance is quite disturbing. It looks fun to watch but that's it... It's fun to watch.
So they were going to perform the dance, Jonathan's eyes widened. What? Did he just hear the professor correctly? Trying the dance, eh?
Jonathan stood up like the rest of the students did and tried practicing the dance. He stood in one corner and smiled at himself. Do they really have to do this? Okay. The faster he does this, the sooner he'll finish.
Beak beak beak--- that was the first step.
Flap flap flap--- and then followed by,
Wiggle wiggle wiggle--- and then circle around with the partner.

Mortified. That was the one word Selina could use to describe herself at the present moment. She was unequivocally mortified. At the sound of the chicken dance Selina knew that it was going to be a rough dance, but once Professor Cerulean started to teach it Selina suddenly felt sick. It was the most horrible dance she had ever seen and she was counting the boogie bounce.
Slowly... and as small as possible she did the motions following the Professor. Beak. Flap. Wiggle. Clap. Each time she did the cycle Selina could feel her face heating up and getting redder by the minute.
