Maybelle's attention turned toward the Muggle Studies Professor. She looked at the things in awe. How would she write without using ink? And now they have something to erase errors?! She raised her hand. "Muggle's don't categorize their blood, like us. They are all just people, while with us, there's Pureblood, Half-blood and Muggle Born, I suppose." She said, almost not wanting to count that one as a blood status, but Maybelle wasn't going to be rude, because there were Muggle borns in this classroom right now.

After giving her answer, Thea then turned to some Hufflepuff who found her accident.. amusing.
'Mhm, oh REALLY?' She feigned shock. 'Jees, I'll bear that in mind for next time!' The sarcasm was dripping off her. Looking him up and down she gave him a small smile.. with a bit of sarcasm. 'Thea..' Who was this kid with his flashy grins? Pffft.

Isobel liked notebooks, so she was pleased when she spotted one in the bag that flew toward her. She wrote in them all the time, but unfortunately that one was just for schoolwork. She took a pencil out of the bag because she didn't like to use pens in case she messed up. She notebook was yellow, but the pencil was plain boring black. WAIT! Cool; they were Hufflepuff colors.

Isobel raised her hand, and tried to say something no one else had. "Muggles use electronics, like computers and cell phones and little music players called iPods." Right? She was not exactly sure of the name, but she was pretty sure she had gotten it right, or at least close. Her aunt liked using muggle things like...Isobel raised her hand again because she remembered something. "Oh yeah, and they use tellyvisions too."

Isobel looked over at Maybelle. "That's not true," she argued. "They do categorize by blood in some places." Miranda, Violet's little sister who was a muggle, had gone on and on and on about things she had learned in muggle school. Isobel couldn't remember where, but some places they did categorize by blood and where you were born.

Not the debating type, Scott was somewhat bemused by what she had said. "With all due respect, I believe what you are thinking of, is racism" Hoping not to look the know-it-all or just ignorant he carried on. "In some countries you will get people who believe they are above other people because of where they come from"

He stopped and thought about what he said, then continued "Unless I completely misheard you"
He smiled at her, although no one was going to listen to a little first year.

Presley raised her hand, she was excited for this question. "Muggles have been on the moon." There. How many other people in this class knew that? Probably only th muggleborns. Presley remembered being told that by her mum. She hadn't believed it, but now she did. Her mum never lied.

"Thats not nessasarly true", she said quietly. Alice bit her lip, but gave a small, "I hope I didn't offend anyone or their opinions."

"That's what I said," Isobel said. "Or what I meant at least. They categorize, for lack of a better word." At least that she could think of at least. But that was what she had said. She hadn't said it was right, because it wasn't in her opinion, she just said that is happened in placed. Because it did.

Kourtney listened to the answers being said. Yes, yes...there were some good points. Then again, there were some answers that Kourt was rather disconcerted about. She didn't go around calling Quidditch a silly sport, so why say it about Muggle sports?

Slightly frowning, she raised her hand. "In the same vein of Muggles using electronics such as computers, Muggles use electricity every single day and rely on it as a source to power technology. You don't see that in the wizarding world. To light something up, a wizard just waves their wand and poof, it's lit! In a Muggle world, they have massive wire systems that stretch from place to place that carries electricity to their homes and places of work."

Ashley listened to all of the answers flying around, busy looking at his notebook and trying to decide how he even felt about it. He didn't know any of that stuff. His mother certainly had never taught him things like that.
He'd finally come up with one thing that another student had mentioned once, but as he raised his hand, someone else mentioned it. But maybe he could elaborate on it, or add something different. So up his hand went again, just because he wanted to throw in the one thing he did know.
"Muggles have books full of pictures that don't move, that they just... look at. Because of the clothes on the people. Even though they're not moving," he said, remembering the whole creepy magazine conversation he'd had once.

Aaron tried to keep a straight face as Daisy giggled. Daisy was great fun. So was Dr Pepper. That meant Dr Pepper + Daisy equalled some catastrophe. He grinned, something funny was going to happen very soon.

Aaron nodded happily, not sure whether he was annoying her or if it was just the explosive coke that had set her off.
'Next time? Plan on exploding some more cans of coke in your face?' He couldn't contain his mad sniggers as he thought of that image. His face lit up as he remembered the funny effect the muggle candy of Mentos had on coca cola. 'You should try eating a Mentos when drinking coca cola! Makes for great fun.'

Jesifur just listened and took notes on what everyone was saying. She knew muggles were different in many ways. The visits to her cousins house showed her just how different they are. They do have a lot of nifty gadgets, that make up for some of the magic they don't have. But growing up with both sides it was kinda hard to tell what was strictly muggle and what was strictly wizard...

Thea blinked. Erm.. 'I don't really.. care?' Ok.. might of sounded harsh but Thea really did not care about eating Mento sweets then drinking coke.. WOO, Aaron you are craaazy! No. Just no. Staring in disbelief, a low growl came from Thea. 'Oh, I'm so glad you found it funny! I might do that, just for you!' She winked at this Aaron then immediantly scowled again as she looked away.

"Oh I'm sorry" That backfired
He nervously hunched up and tried not to be seen, he was thoroughly embarrassed, and a bit ashamed.
First years do not or at least should not challenge older years.

Aaron bowed, choosing to ignore her tone. He had the funny feeling that she didn't like him, but right now he was too hyper to care.
He took another sip of Dr Pepper. 'Mmmmm. Delicioso.' He rubbed his stomach, boy he was full.
'You'd do that, just for me?' He tried, unable to keep a grin off his face.

Alyssa was beginning to like this class very much. You got use Muggle stuff like pens, pencils and even erasers.

She thought of something that muggles did, raised her hand, stood up and answered, "Professor, muggles use money like we do but theirs is mostly made up of paper with different colors for different denominations. However, most of them don't even use that now. They pay for things with a plastic card called a credit or debit card, and almost everyone has one."

Now that Destiny wasn't going to eat allllll the chocolate in the room, Evelyn moved back over to her bean bag chair and sat down in it, becoming comfortable again once more. Enough to close her eyes and space out? Yes, very much so. However, with the Professor's introduction and the bag landing next to her, there was no time to day dream, space out, or sleep.

Opening her bag, she pulled out the items, recognizing them, but they were still different in some way. She'd never used a pencil before. That top part erased what you wrote!? That was kind of neat. And this notebook. It wasn't filled with parchment like hers. It was WEIRD!!!! Yet fascinating, to the point where she almost missed the question being asked.

Hmm. Oh. "Well...at least they don't have to hide who they are." she said juuuust after she raised her hand. IT WAS TRUE!!

"Transportaion, and they also play different sports other then quiditch and have all these different kinds of jobs for work". Maddy could think of a whole list, since she was half and hald and lived in the muggle world for most of her life. " And they learn about different things in school two" Maddy said.

LAZY?!?!?!

Muggles were NOT lazy!

A small frown appeared on Kennedy's forehead. He still felt very Muggle. He was glad that in this class he wouldn't look like a weirdo using a pencil to write with, but he did feel out of the group. He didn't want to let go of his Muggle-ness, but with all this discussion about it he noticed that almost everyone referred to Muggles as them. He didn't like that.

"We have a different style of law enforcement, our security use weapons to protect or defend while the Wizarding world use magic." Yes, he did include himself in the Muggle group.

Jenny blinked as she heard the others say their answers. Why was she taking this class again? Right, because her father wanted her to. He already taught everything he knew, so wasn't this class a bit of a boring review already? On the bright side, there's snacks on the table...FOOD!

Jenny raised her hand when the professor asked a question. A simple easy question, but it was worth it; all of her other class had simple yet complicated ones. "Well, Muggles have these sharp devices called "scissors" to cut flat flimsy things into pieces, whereas we have wands?" Jenny ended on a nervous note.

She must have underestimated the class at bit.

Did no one hear her say the word "possibly"?! She didn't know! She was Pureblood, she only knew about small things, she really did not know a lot. Then, the thought popped into her mind. "Muggles have airplanes, and big skyscrapers in large cities, and maps that don't move, and televisions with weird shows about an alien who rides in a blue box." She took a deep breath after saying all of that. She did all of those thigns when she lived across the pond. She especially loved watching that alien show about a man named "The Doctor".

Alyssa looked over at Aaron. She almost laughed out loud. He was definitely enjoying his Dr. Pepper. If she didn't know better, she would think that he was getting high on the caffeine. She smiled at him and put her finger to her lips to remind him that he had to be quiet now that class had started.

Selina looked suspiciously at the pen and notebooks that were being handed out. How in Merlin's name was she supposed to write with this? Then the Professor said no magic. How was she supposed to do a class without magic? This was a MAGIC school.

She shook her head of all of these thoughts when the Professor posed the first question. She rose her hand and replied, "Ma'am, I guess one major difference between Muggles and Wizards is that Muggles, in many ways, are less lazy then we are. They have to do a lot of hand labor because they do not have magic to do things for them. It is actually amazing how much Muggles can do without magic. I guess I sort of use magic as a crutch." Wow... magic was a crutch.

Aaron then noticed Alyssa and waved at her. He nodded when she silently asked him to remain quiet, it wouldn't do for him to loose them points. So instead of talking, Aaron got out his notepad and a pen. He did his best to make his writing readable, but it was a sore attempt. He even added a smiley.
He then held the notepad up and hoped she could read it.
'I am as silent as a library!'

Kurumi's head shot around to a Hufflepuff girl when she spoke and her face sunk just a bit. "Actually...the do to an extent," she said with a slight frown tugging at her lips. "People who are of a mixed blood, racially, can be categorized." She bit her lower lip for a moment as she tried not to go into any further detail. Perhaps something cheery to, erm, ligthen the mood? "Back home, their is also an entire culture revolved around a person's blood type. We think that what blood type a person is, A, B, AB, or O, is reflective of someone's personality, temperament, and compatibility with others."

Finally, Ira was in a class of her own! She felt absolutely at ease in this subject. How muggles were different?
"Everything is different! They don't have a wand and spells to do all the work for them. They have to do it manually. They have developed technology to such an extent that it is enviable. There are telephones, televisions, vehicles like car and bus and train and airplane for transport and best of all, a computer with internet which was world wide, i.e all the information on computer could be viewed worldwide at once!"
For Ira, she felt as if she was back in her own home. After so long, she was writing with a pen on a piece of paper!
