As you enter the Muggle Studies classroom, you are instantly reminded, or introduced, to the fact that Professor Cerulean always tries to transform her class to match the lesson of the day.
The room is covered in large multicolored Muggle bean bags scattered all over the floor. These bean bags have been charmed with extra cushioning charm to make them even more comfortable. Beside each bean bag is a little lap desk for you to place in your lap and use for notes during the class. The floor feels extra cushiony as well although it seems to be the normal tile floor of all of the classrooms.
The walls and ceiling are draped with different bright colors of drapes. It's a little overwhelming but enchanting at the same time.
In the corner, there is a table of refreshments (something the Professor always tries to have at her lessons.). But this time the table is full of Muggle treats. There is a bowl of ice filled with various Muggle sodas from Cokes to Cherry Cokes to Dr. Peppers to Sprite, etc. Beside that bowl is another iced bowl full of bottles of various colored and flavored drinks labeled Gatorade. There are two other bowls on the table: one is full of mini Muggle chocolate candies from Snickers to Twix to Milky Way bars to M&Ms, etc.; the other is full of more chewy flavors of Muggle candy such as Skittles, Dots, Jelly Beans, Twizzlers, etc. There are small bags at the end of the table for you to fill up with these goodies if you would like. Each of the four bowls is enchanted to automatically refill itself when it starts becoming low.
Various forms of Muggle music can be heard playing softly in the background. Anything from rock to pop to calm rap to R&B to Country can be heard in the mix.
There is a small raised platform at the front of the Muggle Studies classroom where a strange white board that looks like a chalkboard stands. It is known as a dry erase board and is a very Muggle inventions. Written on it in various colors of markers is a message from the Professor.

Kelsey walked in to the room known as muggle studies. WOAH. This class looks awesome!!,Kelsey thought.There are beanbags,food, and lots of color. She rushed over to a beanbag and fell in head first."Awesome!They`re extra cushiony!"She said excitedly very quietly from inside the beanbag. She hoisted her head out of the bean bag and grabbed some of all the snacks. She soon found out that this would be her best and favorite class, even though she`s a pureblood.

Muggle Studies?
This was something Gwen could deal with. It shouldn't be too hard after all, it was just learning about things that Gwenyth was used to doing back at home. Stuff she had lived with for 13 years now after all. There wasn't a major reason why she was here however, other than she was interested in hearing how everyone else thought about muggles and their culture. Whether it was a complete shock or whether there were people there that thought the same as her.
Despite the fact she was a half blood, her father had always been a Wizard, her upbringing had been very Muggle. Just not your typical Muggle upbringing. She lived in a commune, a shared accommodation with other families, reflective of the style they had in the 1970's.
She headed towards the front of the classroom when she spotted a familiar redhead and decided to sit next to her instead. "Hi Aurora" she spoke nervously, though she was certainly more comfortable with someone she actually knew. She spotted the sweets but decided to ignore them.

Grabbing more M&M's, she was about to put some in her hand when a voice interrupted them. It startled her! M&M's went all over the floor around her seat and the blonde blushed in embarrassment. "Er, sure Carter..." Biting her lip, Marilyn cleaned the candies up with her wand, reaching for the Twix this time.
It was the History of Magic lesson...Her nerves were still shot!
Cassie looked up and smiled at Carter when he walked over. She saw no reason why he couldn't join them after all. In fact she moved over so he could sit between her and Marilyn.
It was then that she noticed Mar being less than composed. Whaaaaaaaaat was going on with her friend?
Cass gave her a gentle nudge. Yes get it together Marilyn.
"Yeah you can sit right here." She pat the empty beanie between her and Marilyn indicating where the boy should sit.

"It's great, isn't it?" smiled Jez. "All the stuff we've been missing out on!" She passed him a little sachet labelled Sour Powder. "Try this. It's delicious - better than the Sprite! These lessons are going to be amazing!" A frown creased her forehead. "My parents will freak." She shook herself, trying to get back into her original happy mood. "They've already sent me a Howler - nothing else they can do! Now, this Skittles business ... Oh Merlin's pants these are good!"
"Yeah it is" she was quite enthusiastic, rather than being confused like Scott. He took the Sour Powder and tasted it, it wasn't that pleasant to him. "Don't expect too much, I don't think she will have treats for us every lesson" he smiled.

"Redvines," Isobel said at the exact same time Maybelle did. She wished she had thought of that question, it was a really simple one. There was really no other way to say it except, "Redvines!" Well, they would say it with a space, but she didn't care.

Jory was quite looking foward to the Muggle Studies class, being Muggleborn, he felt he could do well in the class. He walked into the room and instantly felt as if he were in the Muggle world. Bean Bags! Junk Food! Muggle Music!
He walked to the middle of the class and took a seat on a blue bean bag. "Comfy,'' Jory thought. Resting his book bag on the small table next to his bean bag, Jory took a bar of chocolate. Wizarding chocolates are great but Muggle chocolates had their own unique taste. He spotted some little bags next to the junk food. He guessed they were for loading up on the snacks. He did so.
Settling back into his bean bag, Jory waited fo the class to begin, thourghly enjoying the rock music.
Emily wasn't sure why she was taking muggle studies. She was half blood, but had grown up with muggles in a muggle school with muggle foster parents. They wasn't really much to learn. But if she looked at it another way, she'd know a lot of answers!
She entered the classroom and, upon spotting the table, was suddenly glad she had come. "Good day professor..." she said quickly as she passed. She needed sugar!
She grabbed some jelly beans and then took a seat on the beanbags. This was shaping up to be a good lesson afterall!
Aaron walked into class and gasped. He stomped his foot down. 'Professor, THIS IS ALREADY MY FAVOURITE CLASS!' He half yelled before diving into a blue beanbag. He burst out in laughter, this was great.
And it was Muggle Studies, which meant he would do great. His parents were convinced that Aaron would never get good grades, but this was his chance to prove them wrong, by doing nothing at all. Great.
Aaron then looked around the classroom and let out a girlish squeal. 'MAMA MIA! Dr Pepper?! PROF, I LOVE YOU!' Aaron turned a deep red when he realised what he had said. 'I mean- Well, I meant it in a normal, non weirdo-in-love-with-you-way. You know. Gooood.' He gave the professor the thumbs up, there went his chance to be a good student.
But it was Dr Pepper. That couldn't be ignored. DR PEPPER! Dr Pepper was his... Whatever it was that made superheroes so awesome. It was what gave him his superpowers, like being super awesome. He nodded to himself, that sounded right.

Victoria walked to the muggle studies classroom, wondering on the way what a board game is? It sounded a bit boring. Seriously? Board games? Bored games? So what there is to learn about? She greeted the professor before sitting down on an empty seat.

Muggle studies... Thea wasn't sure if she actually liked this class or not. Wandering into the classroom, Thea rubbed her eyes. She was tired and she was grumpy. This was probably dangerous to anybody who even slightly irritated her..
Narrowing her eyes, she Gryffindor stopped as she spotted the tables of Muggle treats. Wrinkling her nose, she walked over. The board requesated that they took some. Oh ew. Grabbing herself some M&Ms and a can of diet coke, Thea went to select herself a beanbag. Settling down, she took out her things that she would need. She leant back on the beanbag, opening her can. Jumping slightly as coke flew everywhere, she growled. It would only happen to her, really. She had to be the one that picked the dodgy can..
Mopping herself and the beanbag, the coke eventually was cleaned up. Shoving the coke aside with a disgusted look of her face, Thea ate some of her M&Ms and waited for class to begin.

So it was the start of one of her favourite lessons and Kita had to be late.
Hmph.
The usual sounds of a fast, even clickety-click could be heard as Kita ran the length of the corridor towards the Muggle Studies classroom. Despite being muggle born, this was one class she always made sure to attend. Why? The snacks! The lovely decorations that Cerulean puts up!
She skidded to a halt outside the classroom and looked down at her robes. Good. They were clean. A natural smile grew across her lips as she stepped into the classroom...
...and stopped.
BEANBAGS?! The seventeen year old tried her hardest not to squeal. Instead, she turned her attention to the professor and said, "Morning Professor." She scanned the instructions on the board and let out a huge squeal.
There were SWEETS?! Well, this is Cerulean, 'COURSE there were going to be SWEETIES! She turned around and looked around until... THERE THEY WERE! Letting out another squeal, the brunette ran over to the tables and looked at the variety. They were... muggle sweets. Meh, at least there was chocolate there! She grabbed a bag and filled it up with some M&M's, Snickers and Twizzlers. What? A girl's gotta eat! She made her way over to the drinks and grabbed a bottle of coke. Merlin, it was times like these that she was glad she was muggle born! That and the OWL exam!
Kita turned around and made towards one of the beanbags, looking around in the process. Aside from a couple of people she had seen here and there, there weren't really any familiar faces. And to think she could have gotten the opportunity to grab Caroline and have a little chat. Meh.
Jonathan made his subtle entrance into the room by charging in and waving to the professor. "HOWZIT???" Then has the child looked around the room at the most horrifying class room at the whole school.
WHAT IS THIS PLACE??? Candy...... BEAN BAG CHAIRS??? IT WAS HORRIFYING.
Ignoring that girl from Diagon Alley, Jonathan Kirk marched right over to a seat, and plopped down.
Muggle Studies. Awesome.
That would absolutely be easy for Tiffany as a muggle born. She opened the door and walked inside. She looked around."The decorations here are really good."she thought to herself. She turned to the professor and greeted cheerfully,"Good day, professor." Then, she noticed that there were some treats on the table at the corner of the room. She realised that those were all muggle treats. She smiled and she took some M&Ms and went to the middle of the room and decided to take a seat. She searched for a while to see if her friends had come or not. Then she saw Lana sitting besides a new girl. She headed to her and said happily," May I, Lana?" It has been a long time since Tiffany last met Lana, her old friend.
Lana became startled when she heard her name. The voice sounded familiar, but it just threw her off. She turned and.. TIFFANY! Lana had a big grin. "Please! Sit!" Lana motioned to one of the vacant beanbags around her. "I haven't seen you since the train!" Lana was happy to see another friend in class.

Desiree honestly didn't know anything about muggles I really hope I don't fail this class.. Grabbing something called a Dr. Pepper and some candy she looked at the seats. Lana then noticed what Desiree was drinking. "Umm.. what does it taste like?"

The professor couldn't help but giggle as a young girl had an issue with one of the cokes. She walked towards the girl and with a flick of her wand helped her clean up the mess. "I'm sorry you got such an explosive can...sometimes they get shaken up and this is the result..." she said with a shrug of her shoulders, "Let's get you another one...." she flicked her wand and led another coke over to her hand and opened it for the girl. "There much better...." she said as she handed her the coke.
She glanced around the room with a smile as she watched all of the students getting comfy in their chairs and eating and conversing. She nodded her head slightly at all of the hellos and the excitement. She was happy to see so many happy faces because she knew that quite often Muggle Studies wasn't a fave or some students, especially students from one particular house.
She walked to the front of the class room and with a flick of her wand she silenced the Muggle music to signal to the class that it was time to start.
She took a deep breath and then started, "Hello everyone!" she said excitedly as the chatting started to cease across the classroom. "And welcome to our first Muggle Studies class!" she said as she turned around and erased the dry erase board with her hand...no magic just used an eraser.
She turned back around with a smile, "For those that don't know me, I'm Professor Gemma Cerulean. This is my second year teaching at Hogwarts. Last year, I had the pleasure of teaching History of Magic. This is my first year teaching Muggle Studies and I am very excited to try to make this class and subject fun and interesting." she said with her usual soft voice and smile. "For my returning students, I am sooo excited to see you and I can't wait to hear how your breaks went and for us to have more fun, and more goodies, through the year in our classes..." she said motioning towards the table. "And speaking of goodies, if you haven't grabbed any or you run out, feel free to get up at any time and grab some goodies...I'm all about food and snacks making lessons more interesting..." she finished up with a little wink at the students.
"This class' main focus is on the Muggle world and their practices and traditions and their daily lives. It is set up to help us better understand the Muggle world and to help us better meld into the Muggle world if we ever need to have interaction." she said everything very matter of fact with a smile on her face. "However, this class is not set up for us to make fun of the Muggles or to criticize the Muggles, so if you feel that you cannot handle yourself as a mature student in this class, then I suggest you go ahead and politely excuse yourself." yes that was the nice way of saying we weren't going to have Muggle bashing she thought with a little nod and a serious look/glare out at the students.
"Because this is a Muggle Studies class, we are going to utilize a few Muggle classroom ways while in the class." she flicked her wand and little bags started flying out to each of the students. "I would like to ask that while in this class that you refrain from using magic. I will use it occasionally to pass out things or take notes and such but I want to ask that you refrain from using it unless I specifically ask or you receive permission from me." the bags slowly landed beside each of the students. "Inside each of these bags you will find a few Muggle classroom items for you to utilize while in the class and while doing homework." she grabbed a bag hovering over her head and pulled the drawstring to open it. She slowly reached inside and pulled out each item slowly, "A notebook full of lined paper...this is what Muggles use to take notes and such in stead of parchment...so from this point on no parchment is allowed in this classroom or for use in homework. There should be plenty of paper in this notebook for you to use for the year." she reached in and pulled out a handful of long plastic items, "These are pens. I have put a red, black, blue, purple, green, and pink pen in each bag. We will not need quills in this class. These pens have plenty of ink within them to use for the term." she reached inside one more time, "And these are pencils. They are similar to the pens, however, on this end..." she said pointing towards the pink softy end, "is what's called an eraser and it will erase any errors that you make when you turn it over and rub your paper with that end..." she said with a little nod and then laid each of the items out on her desk at the front of the class.
She let the students examine the items for a few moments and then continued, "Okay let's get this lesson officially started..." she said excitedly as she turned towards the dry erase board and picked up a marker. As she spoke she wrote the first question on the board. "Other than magic, what traits or habits or ideas or events, etc. make Muggles different from us?" she wrote on the board before turning around. "Please remember to raise your hand before you answer and don't repeat answers already shared...and only give one answer....also remember we are here to learn about Muggles not knock them down or criticize...any answers like this will result in loss of house points..." she said glancing out over the students' faces hoping that they were starting to understand how serious she was about the rudeness she had heard that often occurred in this class in the past.

Aaron sighed happily. Pens were much better than quills, he could actually distinguish his own writing when using a pen. Quills were just about horrible.
He slurped up the last bit of his Dr Pepper and leaned back into the beanbag happily, yes, this class was going to be great.
How were Muggles different... Aaron raised his hand. 'They're like- more fashionable? Is that the word? No idea, but the robes some wizards wear...' Aaron burst out in silent laughter, some were just too ridiculous.

Oh... she had heard about this... "Well, they have these boxes that are like... they have moving pictures in them. Like portraits but it's like a whole story. Like a play on a screen or something." she said, raising her hand. "And they don't wear robes." she added.
Louisa was beaming all the time as the professor explained about their brand new mugglish bag and its content. Louisa, of course, knew all of those things. She'd attended four years of elementary muggle school, her brothers were muggles too.. so, yeah, she did know what pens, pencils and notebooks were. She looked around, curiously, to see what were the expressions on students' faces, Louisa was eager to see Jonathan's face in particular.
..maybe he doesn't even attend this class!
Once the professor wrote the question on the white board. Louisa raised her hand, "Muggles have hard time explaining certain events - like the disappearance of an object while Wizards do know that it's been vanished by evanesco." See the titles used? No rudeness whatsoever. Or racism. Louisa had learned something from that obnoxious professor. "I think this applies on other bigger incidents like unexplained hurricane, destruction of a building..etc. It all could be results of a curse or a spell gone wrong."

Penny had grown up a muggle, before learning about her magical heritage... and she adored learning about how the magical community viewed the muggle world..
Raising her hand in the air, "Well Professor, Muggles love their cars, I mean, their cars are almost like a status symbol - like how big or important a person is or how much money they have in the bank.... I think a good majority of the muggle world travel to and from work in cars... More than Public transport or Bicycles"...

After receiving permission to do so, Eino opened his goodie bag and pulled out a notebook, a pen, and the other materials Professor Cerulean had supplied them with. Well, he had used these when he went to Muggle school so it wasn't too hard to remember how to use them, which was good. He quickly put his parchment, quill, bottle of ink, and wand away in his backpack. Then he turned his attention to Professor Cerulean again. "Communication." He said with his hand high in the air. "Wizards tend to use letters, howlers, floo network, even patronus charms, and other methods of communication. Muggles do use letters, too, but they are mostly those electronic things, and they also use telephones, all different kinds of telephones." Eino really didn't know much about their communication methods since he had never used a telephone, but he saw them quite often.

The smile slipped from Mia's face and she gave Evelyn a reproachful look. "I don't think that person would be too popular with the rest of the class." And the Professor would probably issue a detention if someone lit a fire in her class.
Oh Destiny knew exactly what she meant. For some reason she just liked to have Mia spell everything out for her. "That chocolate is for the WHOLE class Destiny. Not just you." She was willing to give the girl her share which she hadn't taken yet.
"Remember when you stuffed your face full of chocolate when we were on safari. And remember how crazy you got?" Did she remember how she had dressed up like the tribespeople and almost got herself a tattoo before Mia stepped in and stopped the whole thing.
Not that her friend could get a tattoo in Muggle Studies but Mia was not going through that again.
Mia.. was receiving a glare.
Why did she have to go and bring THAT up? Destiny was trying to to forget that day. It was horrible! The tribesman wouldn't let her wear their 'official' headgear and, when they all had to sit down to eat, they didn't even have any potatoes! Not to mention the tattoo that she wasn't allowed to get. That would be the last time she brought Mia on a safari with her.
"I wasn't going to eat it all." And if Mia couldn't see that that was a lie, the girl was blind. "And the tribesman thought I was interesting, didn't they?" They did! They wanted to keep her.
Heaving a defeated sigh, Destiny only took one of the chocolate bars from the table, and made her way over to a beanbag.
She felt DEFEATED!

She glanced around the room with a smile as she watched all of the students getting comfy in their chairs and eating and conversing. She nodded her head slightly at all of the hellos and the excitement. This is my first year teaching Muggle Studies and I am very excited to try to make this class and subject fun and interesting." she said with her usual soft voice and smile. "For my returning students, I am sooo excited to see you and I can't wait to hear how your breaks went and for us to have more fun, and more goodies, through the year in our classes..." she said motioning towards the table. "And speaking of goodies, if you haven't grabbed any or you run out, feel free to get up at any time and grab some goodies...I'm all about food and snacks making lessons more interesting..." she finished up with a little wink at the students.
"This class' main focus is on the Muggle world and their practices and traditions and their daily lives. It is set up to help us better understand the Muggle world and to help us better meld into the Muggle world if we ever need to have interaction." she said everything very matter of fact with a smile on her face. "However, this class is not set up for us to make fun of the Muggles or to criticize the Muggles, so if you feel that you cannot handle yourself as a mature student in this class, then I suggest you go ahead and politely excuse yourself." yes that was the nice way of saying we weren't going to have Muggle bashing she thought with a little nod and a serious look/glare out at the students.
"Because this is a Muggle Studies class, we are going to utilize a few Muggle classroom ways while in the class." she flicked her wand and little bags started flying out to each of the students. "I would like to ask that while in this class that you refrain from using magic. I will use it occasionally to pass out things or take notes and such but I want to ask that you refrain from using it unless I specifically ask or you receive permission from me." the bags slowly landed beside each of the students. "Inside each of these bags you will find a few Muggle classroom items for you to utilize while in the class and while doing homework." she grabbed a bag hovering over her head and pulled the drawstring to open it. She slowly reached inside and pulled out each item slowly, "A notebook full of lined paper...this is what Muggles use to take notes and such in stead of parchment...so from this point on no parchment is allowed in this classroom or for use in homework. There should be plenty of paper in this notebook for you to use for the year." she reached in and pulled out a handful of long plastic items, "These are pens. I have put a red, black, blue, purple, green, and pink pen in each bag. We will not need quills in this class. These pens have plenty of ink within them to use for the term." she reached inside one more time, "And these are pencils. They are similar to the pens, however, on this end..." she said pointing towards the pink softy end, "is what's called an eraser and it will erase any errors that you make when you turn it over and rub your paper with that end..." she said with a little nod and then laid each of the items out on her desk at the front of the class.
She let the students examine the items for a few moments and then continued, "Okay let's get this lesson officially started..." she said excitedly as she turned towards the dry erase board and picked up a marker. As she spoke she wrote the first question on the board. "Other than magic, what traits or habits or ideas or events, etc. make Muggles different from us?" she wrote on the board before turning around. "Please remember to raise your hand before you answer and don't repeat answers already shared...also remember we are here to learn about Muggles not knock them down or criticize...any answers like this will result in loss of house points..." she said glancing out over the students' faces hoping that they were starting to understand how serious she was about the rudeness she had heard that often occurred in this class in the past.[/color]
But, hearing the Professor start to talk, Destiny glanced over at her friend, with a grin on her face. Did she hear that? Did Mia hear that? She could go up and get chocolate anytime she wanted! And she probably would have went back right at that moment if the woman hadn't started passing out bags of pens.
And PENCILS!
Destiny knew about them. Rooting through the bag, she pulled out the notebook first, flipping through the pages as she listened to the Professor speak. What makes Muggles different from them? That was easy! Raising her hand, she held the notebook in her other hand up, "They use this weird paper with lines."

WHAT WAS THIS SCHOOL TEACHING?!?!? Jonathan had to fight to not explode from shock, but alas, he had to answer the question the professor asked. Because, well, He KNEW what muggles did.
Raising his hand, "Eaaasy, Professor. MUGGLES, Travel everywhere in the SKY! Every day, a muggle will get up and go to a place, WHERE THEY SIT IN THE AIR FOR 18 HOURS! And once there, they take part in eating bugs, and fishing for survival, and then they go home!!! And then they do the same thing for the rest of their LIVES!!!"Pie.
Snacks. In class. This professor was so awesome. And they got a notebook and a pen and a pencil. Hugo always thought pens were way easier to work with than quills but he liked the feel of a quill. Nonetheless, he accepted the stuff. It was quite a bit handier than parchment and quills. Those muggles.
Hugo raised his hand. "Transportation: we use brooms, apparation, the floo network, portkeys and sometimes magical animals while they use those car things and flying birds... Planes, I think was what the word was," he told the professor.
She let the students examine the items for a few moments and then continued, "Okay let's get this lesson officially started..." she said excitedly as she turned towards the dry erase board and picked up a marker. "Other than magic, what traits or habits or ideas or events, etc. make Muggles different from us?" she wrote on the board before turning around. Sage raised her hand quickly before answering the question,
"Muggles have different jobs then wizards, some are the same, but they got some different ones too. They've got doctors and arch-ologist (Archeologists), and sinetists (Scientists)!" Sage giggled a little at the silly Muggle names.
