As you enter the Muggle Studies classroom, you are instantly reminded, or introduced, to the fact that Professor Cerulean always tries to transform her class to match the lesson of the day.
The room is covered in large multicolored Muggle bean bags scattered all over the floor. These bean bags have been charmed with extra cushioning charm to make them even more comfortable. Beside each bean bag is a little lap desk for you to place in your lap and use for notes during the class. The floor feels extra cushiony as well although it seems to be the normal tile floor of all of the classrooms.
The walls and ceiling are draped with different bright colors of drapes. It's a little overwhelming but enchanting at the same time.
In the corner, there is a table of refreshments (something the Professor always tries to have at her lessons.). But this time the table is full of Muggle treats. There is a bowl of ice filled with various Muggle sodas from Cokes to Cherry Cokes to Dr. Peppers to Sprite, etc. Beside that bowl is another iced bowl full of bottles of various colored and flavored drinks labeled Gatorade. There are two other bowls on the table: one is full of mini Muggle chocolate candies from Snickers to Twix to Milky Way bars to M&Ms, etc.; the other is full of more chewy flavors of Muggle candy such as Skittles, Dots, Jelly Beans, Twizzlers, etc. There are small bags at the end of the table for you to fill up with these goodies if you would like. Each of the four bowls is enchanted to automatically refill itself when it starts becoming low.
Various forms of Muggle music can be heard playing softly in the background. Anything from rock to pop to calm rap to R&B to Country can be heard in the mix.
There is a small raised platform at the front of the Muggle Studies classroom where a strange white board that looks like a chalkboard stands. It is known as a dry erase board and is a very Muggle inventions. Written on it in various colors of markers is a message from the Professor.
Quote:
Welcome to our first Muggle Studies Lesson!!!
Please come in and have a seat on one of the Bean Bags! Also don't forget to grab a few Muggle treats from the table of goodies!
Class will begin shortly!
OOC:
Please come in and have a seat. You may chat but keep it to a minimum. Remember that when class starts, you need to cut out chatting. Also don't post yourself coming in late, Gemma hates late arrivals and will not give you a warning, she will deduct points from the first time you are late.
I'm going to give you a few hours to get settled so I'll see you a in a little while!!! Class will officially start tomorrow morning when this mamma in waiting rolls out of bed.... *huggles you all*

~*Lesson Quick Links*~ (Will be updated as we go so you can find the Professor's links quickly and easily)
Please feel free to catch up at any time during the lesson. I don't mind if you post with answers to all of the missed questions at once or if you just wanna jump in where we are at and catch up later or just jump in where we are at. Whatever you want to do is fine with me....JUST don't post yourself coming in late to class that's a NO NO!
Gemma smiled at the class and shook her head with all of the answers encouragingly.
As she spoke, the differences appeared on the board, "Great answers. Before I continue I want to remind you that there are other types of Muggle games but these are just the three major categories." she paused and then continued, "The first category is sports. A sport is all forms of physical activity which, through casual or organized participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical fitness and provide entertainment to participants. Sport may be competitive, where a winner or winners can be identified by objective means, and may require a degree of skill, especially at higher levels"
"The next category is Role Playing Games. Role-playing games, often abbreviated as RPGs, are a type of game in which the participants assume the roles of characters acting in a fictional setting. These can be either in person or through some form of connection in the Muggle world such as through their internet or video gaming systems." she ran through the last part quickly because she wasn't sure how many people would know what everything was in her last sentence.
But she smiled as she focused on the last part, "The last category, and the most important one in this class is board games. Board games use as a central tool a board on which the players' status, resources, and progress are tracked using physical tokens. Many also involve dice and/or cards." she held out her hands toward the stack of games beside her.
"And many of your classmates have already listed a great variety of board games. These can include my favorites, Monopoly, Life, Twister, Sorry, Scrabble, etc." she paused as she pointed to each of these games in the tower of games.
She flicked her wand and stacks of board games appeared all over the class. "I would like to invite each one of you to come up to a stack of games near you and grab a board game that looks interesting to you." she said as each of the stacks shook and shimmied magically.
"Battleship, please!" she smiled as the game floated down, not once has she lost a game of Battleship, and she secretly hoped to find someone to rivial her skills.
Glenn got up cautiously and edged into the kind of blockage near the board ganes.
"Could I please have Scrabble?" She asked. It floated down and she caught it. Glenn turned back and sat on her bean bag and speard the game board across her lap.

Hmmm.
Were they going to play muggle games in class?
...
Slightly shrugging, Nora stood up and walked over to look at all those unknown games. Some of them even had creepy names, but she eventually took Scrabble. It looked... fascinating enough.
Gemma smiled at the class and shook her head with all of the answers encouragingly.

Wow! They were actually gonna play games! That sure would be fun.
Ira loved Scrabble But of course there wasn't any fun playing alone, right? But first, she went up and asked for it."Could I have Scrabble please?" Ira asked and it floated down. She saw that some others too had taken Scrabble before her.
Maybe they all would play together? It would be much more fun.
Ira waited for the professor to continue

Raven was very enthusiast, because they would play games! At first, she was confused to choose it. She never played some of them. Then she noticed that a gryffindor asked to get scrabble.
OOC: Thank you everyone for being patient with me!!!! I am proud to announce that my hubby and I welcomed a heathly baby boy, Wyatt Lance Ferris, 7 lbs 9 oz and 20.5 inches long on Thursday, Sept 22 at 3:20 pm CST....he is just absolutely perfect and a gift from above.
Now I'll try to come to a close with the lesson soon. Sorry that the lesson won't be as crazy and fun as my usual ones are but due to time contraints I'm going to start closing it up...my girl and I will make up for it with our next lesson in a couple of weeks! *Huggles you all*
And thanks so much all the congratulations on my profile....

What!? Oh my goodness! Angelina was so excited to play some muggle games! She knew it was smart of her to take this class! Angelina got up from her seat and walked over to the stack of board games closest to her. She looked down the stack at every name of a game. There were many! The one that looked intresting most to her was Life. Angelina turned her head to the side and thought, "Yes I am going to pick that one." Angelina opened her mouth paused and said, "Life..." Then the board came out of the stack, and Angelina grabbed it in her hands. She looked down at it to find a group of people in some carage thing, but Angelina thinks it something like a car? She kinda ignored it and then looked at the background to find a long walk away with many other different pictures on it. Angelina was excited to find out how to play things, so she walked back to her seat and sat down.
Oooh board games, muggle board games, that sounded fun.
But.. Desiree had never played them before.. so she had no idea what any of them were. Might as well just choose a random one. Eenie..Meenie.. Minie.. Moe..
THIS one. She thought with a smile at the game she was pointing at : 'Guess Who?' Interesting..
"Umm 'Guess Who?' please." and immediately the box flew out into her hands. Magic was great. Holding the box she sat back down in her seat. Are we going to be playing these with other people.. Because that would be even more fun.
Raven was very enthusiast, because they would play games! At first, she was confused to choose it. She never played some of them. Then she noticed that a gryffindor asked to get scrabble.
"Hey, it looks fun. May I join it?" asked her.
"Sure why not? I'd be only too happy to have someone play with me" Ira answered
"Have you ever played Scrabble? Its a great game!"

Destiny may have gotten just a tad bit distracted.
There was a WHOLE table full of chocolate in the room, yet there she was, sitting nowhere near it, and after finishing off what little bit of chocolate that she had managed to grab, thanks to the EVIL looks of Mia and Evelyn, she started to chew down on one of the pens the Professor had given out. That didn't help much either, because the longer she chewed on the, the more horrible it tasted and the more she wanted chocolate!
Maybe she could sneak over to the table without her friends noticing..
After the Professor finished talking, of course. Listening to the woman speak, Destiny wrote down a few notes in her crazy lined paper, and once she finished, the pen went right back into her mouth. Yeah, she needed that chocolate. And she got her opportunity to do just that as everyone was allowed to go and pick up a.. board game.
Placing her pens and paper down, she stood, and after making a detour at the table, she made her way over to the stack of games they got to choose from. Picking one was almost as difficult as picking which kind of chocolate she wanted! But she had finally decided on one. "Mouse trap!" Maybe it would help her keep her pet rat from disappearing.
Taking the game, she skipped her way back over to her seat. D'aww! The mice on the box were so CUTE! And trapped..

"Honestly, no." said her short. She was right, although she lived in muggle residence, she never played it.
"So, how to play it?" asked her. "By the way, I'm Raven Charlotte." introduced her, and she didn't need to tell her what house she belonged to. It was appeared in her robes. The serpent emblem.

Wait, were they going to PLAY these board games?
Looking around as one by one got up to grab one of the games, the Slytherin took a moment to look down at her notebook, seeing all the doodles she had in it already in the small amount of time since class started, before noticing Destiny get up. Whaaa? She was going to ask if she could get one for her too, but knowing Destiny, it'd be some weird game that involved counting one's moles and naming the colors of the rainbow.
Sighing quietly, she closed her notebook and placed it into her bag before lazily getting up from her EXTREMELY comfortable bean bag chair and making her way over to grab a game. Some of them looked boring, and some of them looked slightly intimidating.
Life? Did that actually know about their life? Or was it some divination game?
Candyland was a big no, and she didn't like apples either. Monopoly was so monotone, and she didn't like hippos which she assumed was related to the hippocampus. What was with these games?
"Battleship..." she muttered, taking the game and staring at the front. If it had the word Battle in it, surely it would be a good game. Yea, she chose this one. Back to her comfy seat!
Being a muggleborn, Ira knew almost all the games. She was eager to play them.
"Its very simple, Raven! All you have to do is form word of specific length using the letters given to you. Then, points are given based on number of words formed and their length."

Raven heard the instruction from the girl. Seemed simple.
Glenn got up cautiously and edged into the kind of blockage near the board ganes.
"Could I please have Scrabble?" She asked. It floated down and she caught it. Glenn turned back and sat on her bean bag and speard the game board across her lap.
They were gonna play? What age did she think they were five but it didn't matter if that was the way she liked to teach she had no problem she looked around anyone?
She spotted a puff playing scrabble it was nice to be nice ''Hey i'm Luna do you mind?'' what it's not like she was gonna say 'Can I play?'
Playing board games was always fun but playing them with people who had absolutely no idea...well that was going to be even more fun. Mia watched as Destiny and Evelyn got up to retrieve a game and she was not surprised one little bit by theie selections.
With a small chuckle, she finished writing her notes and then stood up and walked over to the stack of board games. "Guess who? Please." Taking hold of the box, Mia headed back to her seat and sat down.
OOC: I'm really happy to hear that you and your baby are doing great!
Orr walked up to a stack of games and looked around at the different games that the students had already picked out. She saw that one of her favorite games hadn't been picked so she said aloud, "May I please have Rummikub?"
And in her hands appeared a thin box with pictures of numbers printed on tiny tiles as well as a picture of a board that could hold the tiles. It was a game for two people.

Once Tiffany heard the word play, she was so happy that she has nearly jumped up. She was thinking about which game she should choose. Then she came up with a idea.
"Could I have Monopoly please, professor?"she asked cheerfully.
OOC: Congratulations! I am happy to know that you and your baby are alright and both healthy. Once again, congrats!

Choose a board game?
M'kay...
Putting the pencils the professor had given aside, Josh left the spot he had been comfortably sitting and relaxing and walked to the large pile of many many many board games. Hmmm...now which one to choose?
It was kinda hard to see all the varieties by just looking at the pile so he decided to examine the list a bit before choosing one.
...
Eh...he already knew of many of the games on the list and some he had no idea about like that...Mall Madness. Its title did not look like a game that he'd pick anyway. Neither did Hungry Hungry Hippo and Mouse Trap. Chess and scrabble were boring. Risk had a good name but the game itself was boring too. His eyes stopped on the Apples to Apples as it apples in the title yet he knew the game itself had nothing to do with apples. Sooo...
''I want...Cranium.'' he said and took the box.
He had played this game before yet he knew it required more than one skill at once. So, it was good for The Master of Everything.

Jory looked at the stack of board games before him. "They're so many,'' he thought ''I don't think I've played quarter of these!''He scanned the names and finally found The Game of Life his favourite. "The Game of Life, please'' he said.
Into his hands appeared the game. Pleased, Jory walked back to his seat.

Gemma smiled at the class and shook her head with all of the answers encouragingly.

She listened attentively as Professor Cerulean was talking and giving out information. With this, Beatrice also began jotting down notes for even if she knew most of the stuff it was better to have something as reference.
Upon the Professor instructions, she stood up and approached the stacks of Board Games and as she muttered `Scrabble`, she found it almost immediately right before her eyes. She grabbed one and returned to her bean bag.

Jonathan sat there and listened to the professor as she talked about muggle games and whatnot. It's quite nice hearing their games for once, since Jonathan are more used to hearing games they have in the wizarding world.
As fun as it sounded to be, Jonathan has to admit he absolutely know nothing about the examples the professor gave, especially the board games. And she did mention video games and internet. Weird names for games isn't it. What are those games anyway?
Now, the professor wants them to pick any board game she has prepared for them. Jonathan went to look at them. Hmmmm. He looked at them one by one. He can't seem to make up his mind in choosing since he has never played with them, well except for the chess board. yes, he saw that. But after playing it most of the time, he got bored of it actually. In fact, to him, wizard's chess is more awesome since you just have to call out the pieces and they destroy each other. Cool.
Jonathan came across scrabble... SCRABBLE??? What is a scrabble? What is the point of this game? He can see letters in small squares but what does it do anyway?
Anyways, he took the scrabble box and went back to his seat. Wonder how they will play this one.

Penny got up off her beanbag and walked up to all the games and picked her absolute favourite - Scrabble....
She walked back her bean bag and dragged it over to beside Alyssa.... She smiled at her friend who had chosen ...Jenga !!

Penny had brought her bean bag over to beside Alyssa, she plopped down on it with a grin looking at the Jenga.."That definitely will be fun" Penny whispered with a giggle....
