With a tiresome smile Louisa knew that she had no strength to go on. But something new was born last term within the young girl's chest, something Dallin ignited and then she petted it until it was grown enough - adventure. "Flipendo!" Her voice was strangled and her hand shook badly, the tension was the main reason. Not to mention that stunning spell and hurling hex. Her whole body was getting sore.

Gideon saw the next spell coming and giving the condition of his opponent, he had been doubting she'd be able to cast anymore. Nevertheless the hurling hex was shot at him however weak and he answered it with his shield charm.

"Protego!" he cast the boy wincing when he was done with he wand movement.

Louisa extended her arm and cast one more Knockback Jinx, which darted towards the boy, but he countered it with a Shield Charm. The charm not only protected him from the jinx, but he accidentally jabbed his wand as he performed the spell, reflecting the jinx. This caught the girl off guard and the jinx hit her hand, sending her wand flying across the stage. The boy ran towards it and before the girl could retrieve her wand the boy took possession of it, granting him victory.

Gideon Gert Wins!

Gnaeus made his way to the stage and shook the girl’s hand before walking towards the boy. ”Congratulations! Five points to your House!” He exclaimed, shaking the boy’s hand. ”Both of you dueled honorably and fantastically!” He nodded towards the girl, and then the boy. ”This was a perfect demonstration for your classmates.” He pulled out his wand and cast a counter spell on the boy’s arm, to return it to its original size. "You take this" He said giving the girl a small flask. "It will relief your back pain and prevent bruising." With that, the boy returned the girl her wand, and all three descended the stage.

Louisa almost sighed in relief when her wand flew away from her hand - the bitterness showed in her face of course but it was a relief that she, now, could sit down and take a break. The professor jumped on the stage, not literally or that would've seemed so comical, and declared the winner. Louisa shook his hand, feeling weird that it was just as hairy and hard as a man's and yet smaller than one.

"Thanks." Mumbling as she took the flask and looked at Gideon. "You do have steady nerves," she repeated in a half-teasing half-serious tone. Was she disappointed that she was the one to fall down? Absolutely. But she wasn't going to show it here. Quickly she gave the boy a quick one-arm hug and descended the stage, limping and wincing slightly. Shaking hands was too lame for her. A brief friendly hug was nothing..

..right?

The spell rebounding off his shield towards Louisa was certainly not what Gideon expected to happen. But when her wand came from her hand, he moved to grab it more to assist her now that it was no doubt over then to be all controlling about the results. The Gryffindor watched as Spencer returned on the stage to declare the winner, the boy shaking his hand in turn and glad when his arm was returned to normal.

"Thank you," he said echoing the Ravenclaws gratitude. "You weren't so bad yourself," Gideon complimented back and was about to shake his opponant's when she took him into a one-armed hug. He hesitantly returned it in surprise before she slipped away and off the stage.

Okay...that was odd.

Nodding his head slightly to the referee out of respect, he then moved to follow Louisa off the stage and back amongst the rest of the students gathered there.

Gnaeus made his to the top of the stage once again, with two different students. ”Let’s give a round of applause for our last two duelists for doing such a fantastic job.” He waited as the spectators did so and then proceeded. ”The second duel will be between Evelyn Flores from the House of Slytherin, and Joshua Carter from the House of Gryffindor.” Gnaeus paused and took a step back as the duelists met at the full moon. ”May the best wizard or witch win. Good luck!” He gave each of them a nod and jumped off the stage.

OOC: Roselyn is correct, so Lara_the_Firelady will start us off.

Though he was feeling all tense about having to duel his girlfriend whom he would never even think of hurting in any way, the Gryffindor boy managed to give her a warm smile as he bowed at her respecfully before walking to the spot where the duelling man had told them to stand after giving the bow.

Then he unholstered his wand of light coloured hazel wood, unwillingly getting himself ready to cast a spell. But what spell he had no idea. He did not want to cast anything at her. Yet, this was a duel so he had to.

Therefore...taking a deep breath and pointing the wand in his slightly trembling hand at the she-snake he voiced the incantation with a high enough tone. ''Expelliarmus!''

While the Slytherin wanted to duel, she didn't expect the Shorty dude to pair her off with Josh of all people. Yet there she was, standing in front of him on the dueling stage, giving a bow back with a smile of her own before making her way over to her spot on the opposite side of the stage. This was not cool.

Wand at the ready then. And it starts...

There was a slight moment when all the nerves and worrying thoughts disappeared as the anticipation set in, awaiting his first spell. Whatever it was, she tried to get a shield up and ready before it hit her. "Protego!"

Both duelists bowed then moved towards the end of the stage. Josh seemed a little nervous, but still managed to move swiftly and cast a Disarming Charm. The spell was aimed directly at Evelyn’s hand but the Head Girl successfully summoned a shield, negating the spell’s effect. It was very obvious, to Gnaeus at least, that both were uncomfortable dueling against each other, but they were doing very well so far. The first few turns were always intensely distressing.

As her shield blocked the spell, she finally realized after a second that it was just the disarming spell. Goodness, she had to get her head in the duel. Not literally of course, but that split moment where her actions didn't meet her thoughts wasn't doing it for her.

Yet now that his spell was blocked, she didn't waste much time in casting one back. "Mimble wimble!" Preferably a spell that wouldn't cause him any pain, and she said it a tad louder than she would usually do...juuuuust so he knew what spell was coming. Eep!

Josh's dark brown eyes got narrowed yet he was not surprised when the red jolt of light that was shot from his wand disappeared after hitting the pretty Slytherin girl's shield charm. Of course she it had been easy for her to block his poor attempt of disarming her. She was a very skilled witch and an embodyment of perfection.

However, that embodyment of perfection yelled a spell at him and...huh? Mimble what? What was that? Did he fail to figure what the words was or was he too busy looking at her hazel eyes. He had to be quick though.......otherwise...

Evelyn was quickly building some confidence and growing more comfortable. Still, she either didn't want to hurt her opponent too badly or was being strategic. Gnaeus couldn't tell. Two hundred and fifty seven years and women were still a mystery to him. Josh, on the other hand, was obviously distracted by something. ”FOCUS!” The man bellowed from bellow, whacking Josh’s right leg with his staff. The Slytherin cast a very sloppy Tongue-Tying Spell, which was nullified by an equally sloppy Shield Charm by the Gryffindor. If they kept this up Gnaeus was going to sic all of the first years on them.

Not even having imagined that the old man was capable of yelling that loudly, Josh jumped slightly with surprise and finally was able to move his gaze away from the girl's beauty to the man with long white beard. What a change of sight!!

*ahem*

Whatever...but...

He needed to cast a spell back but ''Hey!'' he could not help but protest when he felt something hit his leg. Was this man crazy? Right looking at him for a split moment again for the hit, Josh quickly turned back to the she-snake and pointed his wand at her.

''Petrificus Totalus!''

That would not hurt her, would it? He hoped not.

Good Merlin, the tiny guy had a voice!

She was momentarily distracted by him, but yea...just momentarily. Seeing her spell failing, she was both relieved and annoyed. The way this was going, they both were just going to keep block spells and no one was going to win! Yet that seemed to be the only thing she could do right now.

Gnaeus almost whacked the boy a second time when he protested, but at least he seemed aware that someone was going to hurt him. The boy was very brave to cast the Full Body-Bind Curse when his opponent had time to watch his wand movement. It was no surprise that Evelyn was going to cast the Shield Charm, her arm was ready for it.

While she didn't like dueling with her boyfriend, she didn't particularly want to duel all day either. That would both just tire them out. It was best to just get this over and done with, yet the pressure from the duel had her mind going blank again with spells. The only one she could remember at the moment was the one Josh just cast at her.

"Petrificus totalus!"

Good Merlin, Shorty McShortShort looked like a tiny viscous gnome! Look at him! Then again, gnomes were rather evil.

Look at her dark hair waving so elegantly as she moved around the star spot on the stage!! And she was pointing her wand at him which looked just...wow! So, he could not help but smile at the beautiful sight however he did not lower his defenses this time fearing the short duelling champion dude would whack him again.

''Expelliarmus!''

He casted again trying to sound more confident this time. Well...no one had casted a spell that caused a bit pain yet...huh?

Evelyn used the Full Body-Bind Curse, but before Josh could reciprocate the spell hit him and he was petrified!

Note: It’s like Josh never cast his spell so he doesn’t lose points for casting it. Evelyn will cast first again next round, but Josh will be able to cast right after, which means no Shield Charm.

Seeing the spell hit Josh, she almost gasped in surprise. Merlin's beard, she just petrified her boyfriend!

Just about to lower her wand, Evelyn thought quickly about it, having a few new spells enter her mind as she took a glance towards Mr. Shorty dude. He wasn't going to hit her with that staff of his too if she waited for Josh to be un-petrified was he? Perhaps she'd just...try and get closer to finishing this.

That staff looked dangerous.

"Stupefy."

Merlin!!

The light hit him and he was UNABLE TO MOVE!!! Apparently this was not a good thing if you were duelling during what you needed to be agile and alerted all the time. His eyes on the girl, he tried not to blink, could he even blink anyway, to see the Head Girl's next attack. Yes, Head Girl. He finally had accepted the fact that his girlfriend was a head girl.

And that girlfriend was casting that stunning spell at him!!! What could he do? What could he do!!!?

His hearbeat got faster with a mixture of excitement and concern yet since he could not make up his mind, he just copied her spell.

''Stupefy!''

If this would hit her, he was going to hex himself.

Evelyn 500/700 – 5/7 vs. Josh 500- 6/7 - Petrified

As Josh stood immobile, Evelyn took the opportunity to deal significant damage. When the blue light hit him right on his chest, Josh was shot across the room, off the stage, and crashed against the wall. The figures all screamed and ran away, emptying their portraits. Luckily, Gnaeus placed a Cushioning Charm on the wall right before the boy crashed, so no bones were broken. But, the spell didn’t stun him and he soon recovered from the Full Body-Bind Curse. He quickly made his way back to the stage and used the same spell he was just hit with! The blue light hit Evelyn on the face and, likewise, she blown backwards, fell on her back, and remained on the floor twitching for a couple seconds before getting back on her feet. She wasn’t stunned, but that was close! Now this was getting interesting. Gnaeus could hear the crowd cheering, and he couldn't help but to gasp and toss his hands in the air in response to the falls.
