Wow; where Isobel had come from she would not have learned it until she was a Freshman in High School. That was how old Max was when he started. Well, she had learned basic stuff like shapes, but not the complicated equations Max was dealing with. Those looked really complicated.

"My favorite subject is Arithmany," Isobel announced. She could not see how anyone would not like it. Oh well, it was a matter of opinion. "I like charms too; and Flying of course," she added with a small smile. She was not sure if Flying counted as a class.

Minerva pulled her note book out of her bag and began to write some of the spells she had found in the transfiguration book she was reading. She shifted in her chair she felt she might have been there longer then she had thought.

"Arithmancy?" Janice asked in disbelief. "Don't you get confused with all the numbers and such?" Because she did. Memorizing isn't just her thing.

"Yeah, Charms is okay, although usually the class gets really crowded you get bored easily," she said. "Flying is awesome"--with an emphasis on the word 'is'--"when Professor isn't posessed or making us doing something for a giant spider." She shrugged.

Selina's eyes flickered down to the potions book in her hand and shook her head no at his question. She was okay. She did not need any help in this subject presently because she decided that it was rubbish. No need to worry about the class if she did not want to deal with it. That much was something she was very concrete about. Or at least she attempted to be concrete about. Actually, she had no idea why she even attempted to study the material. It was sort of a hopeless feat.

"No thanks," she said, "I'm good. I've kind of given up anyway so its fine." Then she finally got a good look at Christopher and she chuckled under her breath. He looked extremely perturbed since his fall. Everything looked sort of out of place and so she asked trying to muffle a chuckle, "Hey... you, um, sure your okay there?"

Her hand pat the seat next to her to gesture that it was okay for him to sit, "So what have you been up to?"

Isobel shook her head, but a few moments later she bit her lip in hesitation. "Kind of," she admitted. "I am very bad at memorizing things, and I have to check my facts in the book a lot, but I like that class. It is like a riddle, and you have to figure it out. I find it fascinating that numbers could tell you so much about a person." And most of the time, it actually worked.

"There have been some really cool classes," Isobel said. "Like with the eggs; I just want to know what they will hatch into." She eyes Roza, who was sitting on the arm of her chair, as if staring at the egg would reveal it's secrets. Humph; it did not work. "And a couple years ago, I am pretty sure it was in my third year, we had a water balloon fight." It had been pretty epic.

"I love flying, but I never actually go to the class." She did not really need it, but she did go whenever she had time because it was fun. She had not been at the lesson Janice mentioned, but she had heard about it. Isobel was extremely glad she had not been there; she probably would have had a heart attack.

When she mentioned the egg, Janice took out Egg from the pocket.
"Yup," she said, "most probably into a metal chicken or something." Because that, would be the coolest thing on Earth.

"A water balloon fight?" Janice's eyes were full of delight. "WOW." If only Janice had been one year older, she could have taken a part in the fight. It must be so fun.

"You never went to class?" she asked. That could explain why she hadn't seen her there. "Right." She was really lucky. "We were supposed to 'learn how to avoid unexpected things coming into our way when we're riding a broom mid-air'. The spider flew across the stadion raining everyone with cobwebs. You are really, really lucky."

Isobel blinked a couple of times. A metal chicken? That would be really weird. "Maybe it will be some kind of bird," she suggested. She had considered a Pheonix, but that was not possible because Pheonix's were born from ashes. Well, they were reborn. How were Pheonix's born? Oh well, that was completely off topic. Isobel looked curiously at Janice's egg. "What is your egg's name?"

"It was really fun," Isobel said with an enthusiastic nod. "Even the professor took part in it, but eventually he hid from us." She tried not to sound too devious as she said it, but it had kind of been funny.

"I did last year," she said. "I was not going to, but Professor Vindictus called the captains over and we helped at the basic class." But, of course, she was not captain anymore, but that was not something she wanted to discuss because it would just end up making her sad. "I heard about that," she said thoughtfully. "And I am very glad I was not there; I probably would have had a heart attack."

Ronnie walked into the reading lounge, to read a book she had gotten on famous people from Hogwarts. She began flipping through it and smiling as she did so. It had some real interesting stuff!

Minerva looked up and saw Ronnie. "Hey Ronnie anything good in the book?"

"Egg," she said. "Just Egg. There's a capital 'E' in the front." She wondered how would she react. Maybe a raise of an eyebrow or two, like what people usually do when she said something weird. "Yours?"

"Really?" Janice realized that even old people could be really playful sometimes. "What professor?" she asked while giggling.

"A lot of people were," she mused, remembering the time when the spider was controlled by Professor. "The Gryffindor prefect looked really worried that time. Heaps of people were hiding. I was hyperventilating. Some daring ones flew past it and ended up getting a free blanket of webs. After 15 minutes --or was it an hour?-- Professor transfigured the giant spider into a flock of colourful balloons." Nice way to end it, eh?

Ronnie saw Minnie and smiled. "Hey, Minnie!" she said. "Oh, yeah. It's got loads of cool stuff." she said smiling.

Minerva smiled. "Well that's good. How are you? I dont' feel like I see you very much." Minerva wanted to get to know Ronnie better. She really liked Ronnie, but felt they didn't know each other well.

"Yeah! Great! Fine! HERE'S YOUR BIRTHDAY PRESENT!" was his response to that question. He flung a soft, poorly wrapped, red package at her with awful aim, and yelled, "Happy birthday Selina! I've been looking for you all day! But I couldn't find you. But then I did! So here you go."

Christopher watched with the excitement of a child as she opened his package. Inside, was a little lion stuffed animal, with a necklace that quite resembled the house points for the lions. He grinned at her as she opened it, hoping it was better than last year. Of course books were never a bad gift, but rather than a second hand, used, and rather torn book this year, the Sklyar's had actually given him money to buy things when necessary. So he deemed it necessary to give his little sister a cute little gift, even if she was becoming a grown up.

"Hope you like it! Anyway, how's your day been? Wonderful, I suppose?" he asked with a laugh. Hopefully everyone has a good birthday. His this year wasn't the best, so hopefully Selina's was far better.

Isobel grinned at Janice. She was not trying to be mean, she was just kind of amused. "Mine is names Roza," she answered.

"Um..." Isobel's mind went blank. What was the name of the Charms Professor in her third year? It was a different person than there was that year. "Professor Destacoux or something like that." She had never been very good at pronouncing it, but at least she had the general idea.

"I would much rather face a gazillion balloons than a giant flying spider," Isobel agreed with a smile. She hated spiders. Maybe she would have just left the class.

Thank Merlin for Quidditch at that very moment. If it were not for her lightening fast reflexes due to that sport Christopher would have knocked her upside the head with her present when he flung it at her. He was suddenly very excitable and she was very frightened. Everything he said had an edge to it. Before she could even formulate one thought he was jumping onto the next part of the conversation. Did he drink a lot of coffee or something? She wanted to hide behind her potions for dummies book and run.

When she could finally catch her breath she responded, "Right, well, erm thanks. I really do love it, but why are you talking so fast, mate?"

"Roza?" Janice said. "That's an elegant name. It sounds like a Latin word." Or was it Italian? Janice is not good with languages.

"Destacoux?" she asked, puzzled. "You mean Descotaux? Last year's Charms Professor that teach us really fast?"

"Mhmm," she answered. "But the balloon transformation thing was so sudden he kind of caught us off-guard." She suddenly remembered one teeny, tiny detail about how they ended the class. "And a Ravenclaw vomitted after that. What was her name?" she paused, trying to dig out that piece of information from the bottom of her brain. "Takahashi. Yeah, I think so. She was brought back to the Hospital Wing. Speaking of which, where is the School Healer?"

Hmmm.... Why was he talking so fast? Well, wasn't it obvious?

"I'm just- happy!" he grinned, and stuffed his hands into his pockets. However, it didn't seem to hit Selina as much as it hit him. Well, it seemed that he'd have to fill her in.

"Wait, have I not told you? I thought someone would've said something by now..... At least she would've......" he rambled, still talking at top speed, still not answering her question.

Harvey was sitting down just reading a book, not studying this time he had enough of that for now. His bag was on the table next to him, and inside was a little colourful egg by the name of Tiger tucked away.

Tiger was bored he wanted to do something, so he came to the edge of the bag and looked at Harvey and saw that he was engrossed in his book. So he sneaked out and hopped off the desk. Harvey had not noticed that Tiger was on the run around, and exploring the library.

Soon Harvey was feeling a little sleepy so he decided to pack up. So he slowly picked up his bag, thinking that Tiger is in there still snoozing. He carefully opened the bag and looked to see where the little egg was so that he wouldn’t drop this book on him.

He looked inside to find that his egg was GONE!!?? He looked around the area, the table on the floor and around to see if he could see his egg. But he couldn’t and he didn’t want to yell out his name in the library and get told off for it. So he continued to look around.

Soon he found Tiger stuck in some horrible looking liquid, he didn’t want to know what that liquid was. It could some really bad potion, so he picked up Tiger by what would be his head. Oh Tiger what is this stuff? He asked not wanting to touch it. Luckily he had the gloves he wears in Potions class, so he put them on and took out his wand. "Ok hang on I am going to clean you up. Argentum" *twirl* "Humidus" *point* he casted on the egg. He then scrubbed his egg over and over until that sticky stuff had completely disappeared.

He then dried Tiger "Argentum" *twirl* "Siccus" *point* He smiled but he didn’t know that sticky stuff was, what he was afraid of is what that sticky stuff could do to Tiger. "Excolo!" He said tracing Tiger’s surface. There now no more secret walks around the library, come on lets go I am tired. He picked up Tiger and left for the common room.

At least she would've...

That phrase frightened Selina a bit. Her mind was already racing. There were so many things that were running through her head, but the first and foremost thought was that of the prospect that maybe he and Violet had made up. Were they talking again? That would be bloody brilliant if they were because no one knew how stressful it was to have your best friend and your brother not talking. It was really, really stressful and it made Selina really upset as well.

She rose her eyebrow and set the gift beside her, "Who would have told me what, Christopher?"

When Selina seemed not to know what he was talking about, Christopher's face fell. It seemed that they'd have definitely talked about it by now if she had said something. Was everything she'd said made up? Had it just been out of pity? Was it only to be nice? He couldn't believe that, she'd seemed like she was being so genuine.... He thought he could trust her again.

"Oh... I... nothing. Nevermind."

Selina was suddenly very nervous. He was keeping secrets again. She hated when he did that. They were family and that mean something to her in her mind. Of course, she could not verbalize that to him because technically there were not family. It was just that she viewed him as a brother-like figure.

So she crossed her arms and said, "You know that I know that you are lying. What happened. You're making me nervous, Christopher."

"I....." he started, trying to come up with a good cover up, "I've just had a very nice morning, that's all. I had a great cup of tea."

It wasn't a convincing lie, they both knew that. But he wasn't going to say anything to her about Violet just yet. That way, if she really had rejected his offer to be friends again and was just trying to be polite, he wouldn't be completely humiliated. I mean, it wasn't that big of a deal. And she kept secrets too. Far big secrets than just this.

He'd waited six months to talk to Violet, and Selina Skylar was going to have to be able to wait a little longer.

This time he was awake and alert. Kennedy was deeply concentrated in a Herbology book about Devil Snares. He found those plants extremely fascinating. Maybe it was because they were dangerous, but at same time they were plants. No muggle plants were that coolly vicious and he knew that Hogwarts would be the only place he'd be able read about them.

He was just about to flip the page when the egg that had been sitting in its makeshift crib did something that is has never done before. Kennedy sat frozen not knowing what to do. The egg was basically jumping... on it's own with a dark gray glow. For a minute there he was sure the egg was ready to hatch because that's never happened, but when he grabbed it he knew why it was reacting like this. It was really cold.

The boy took out his wand. "Argentum Calidus," he said, doing the wand movement. The egg grew slightly warm, but was still considerably cold. Was his magic faltering? Or was his wand broken?

Nah, those couldn't be possible.

"Argentum Calidus!" he said, adding more intent into his charm. It worked as the egg returned to its original state. This was definitely going into his journal.
