Marilyn was jerked out of her thoughts...and her eyes away from Carter's wonderful face...by the sound of Josh's voice.

...And then she seen him...

...DO SOMETHING...AWFUL...

Her eyes went wide as her hand automatically reached out to smack the offending finger. "JOSH!" *flails* Looking inside of her bowl, Marilyn grabbed a spoon and dipped into the little portion he'd touch quickly removing it from the rest. Gah! "If you would like some, get a parchment and the right ingredients...and I'll help you make it." She was pointing her finger at him sternly. Not that she was all that mad

Eying her bowl, Marilyn hoped it wasn't messed up.

...And where was the rubber spatula?

Sarah looked impressed. Wow, Hogwarts is sure every bit fun. She had a look at the parchment and went off to collect the ingredients. "Sugar, Flour, Cinnamon, Nutmeg..." she ticked mentally as she took them from the desk and measured, put them in bottles. She waved her wand and made the bottles to fly beside her head. She grinned, wow this looks good. Appreciating her magic she moved on with the other items. "Oops. What else?" she said to herself as she ran back to the list. She looked at it again, mentally striking off the items she already took. Lemon juice and salt. Yeah. How did you forget salt?

She took some salt and lime juice and returned to her work table with the bottles flying beside her. How do I put them down? Oh yeah. That spell. She carefully lowered them and put them on her table.

"Project two: Apple Pies!" she said loudly and started to make it, merrily.

Well that had the desired effect. And also made her inwardly laugh. But, no, she didn't want to sit there. However comfy it looked - and however curious she was about how it felt to be centre stage. No. "Thank you, Evelyn, but I'm fine where I am. I don't want to get in the way - just here to observe." And possibly sample anything afterwards...

Or was Carter going to be the one doing all the tasting? His expression seemed like he was salivating inside.

Kurumi was staring and blinking at her. It was slightly unnerving, and Isabelle was unsure of why. Until she felt around her face, sure she had something on it, and discovered her hair was still wet in places. Ahh, yes. Bit of a giveaway as to what she'd just been doing.

Tucking it behind her ears, she smiled and waved back, before turning her attention back to the goings on.

Oh, she was so tempted to answer that with a yes, but unfortunately not. "Carter, hello," she greeted with a smile. "If anyone wants my help I'm more than willing, but I'm afraid I come bearing only the one apple, so not enough to make the pie myself." Isabelle took said apple out of her pocket and placed it on the table in front of them. "If anyone wants to use that, or eat it, be my guest."

And then Arya arrived not long after. Issy had left her on the third floor, still handing out clues to the remaining children. She greeted the girl again with a grin as she went and sat in Max's chair. Brave, brave child. Good job she was the only professor currently there.

Auggie had just finished cutting up all of his and Tori's apples and was about to go see if she needed any help with the pie crusts but was caught off guard by another voice speaking his name.

"Oh hey Presley!" he said with a small smile at a second year Ravenclaw he remember from a few classes. Oh what was going on here? August grinned excitedly and then began to tell her. "Oh well the Prefects and Quidditch Captains are putting on an around the world in a Hogwarts Day thing, they posted some announcements on the notice boards I heard." he paused, wondering if she had saw them or not. "Anyways, we are going through different activities that supposedly started in different countries all over the world and in this one we are making Apple pies!" There that was what was going on.

"Good luck!"

After having more than enough strips of pre-made dough, Kennedy examined how he would be layering those. First though, he emptied the bowl of ingredients into the pie plate that he had already prepared. He took one of the strips and carefully placed it ontop, then took another dough strip and did the same, but instead of placing it vertically, it was horizontal.

This almost felt like arts a crafts, except it was edible. Seriously, someone should take a picture of him baking so he could sent it to his mom and prove he knew how to cook....at least pie that is.

"Well sorrrrrrrrrry," Tori mumbled in response to August acting all offended. Hmmph. She watched him cut up the other apples and finished draping the second pie crust all around the second pie.

"Do you wanna start mixing up the ingredients with the apples? We're gonna need like... cinnamon and nutmeg and flour and stuff? Here's the recipe."

She pushed the parchment over to him even with her floured hands.

"And you know how to measure them, right?" Make the cups all level and whatnot.

As she finally arrived at the staff table, Gwendolyn noticed at first the head girl sitting in the Headmaster's chair. Smirking to her, the second year tried to focus on what she had to do. Eeeep! Baking? This was like potions- right? Riiight?, she thought as she stared at the table. She had never baked anything so far, so she felt relieved when she spotted the dough already done... probably by Kurumi. Oh, she really wanted to thak to the girl. She made that task easier.

*smirk*

'All right! Let's get this DONE!', Gwen mumbled and tried to encourage herself. Glimpsing at the pie pan, Gwen took her wand. 'Scourgify!!!', the young Ravenclaw said loud and clear. What? No good?

Hoping people wouldn't start laughing, she decided to start doing that filling. Making sure she had all the ingredients, she finally began the task.

Tsk. Tsk.

This is harder than I thought!, she thought and looked a bit hopeless around. No! I don't need help!, she told herself as she measured the 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples. The one thing I was able to do without a problem- bring the apples. What next?, she asked herself while glimpsing at the parchment. 3/4 cup sugar... , she measured and then looked back at the parchment. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour- Aaaa- where are those tablespoons?!?! Riiight-- finally doing that step too, Gwen looked around and scanned the place. Am I the only one not good at this?!

Arya waved back at the lion prefect before she departed to her own event. At least that's where the Puff prefect assumed she was heading. Either way she'd see the younger prefect later.

"Everything went great." She nodded her head, eying the pie by Carter. It looked yummy! "Hey, did Kurumi make that pie?" Or any pies?? She only wanted one of the little lions pies. Hehe.

Arya's attention never left Evelyn or Magnus as she spoke with the other prefects. And though the professor didn't want Tatertot's chair, she did. Though the flying professor's chair wasn't too bad. Maybe she'd try all the chairs... starting with the middle one. Heh.

Magnus got griiins while she leaned heavily against the arm rest towards the head girl. "Carter's working awfully hard out there all by himself." With Kurumi's pie.

Carter chuckled. "Well... It does help that I'm in charge of an event I can relate to." Boy, did he love relating to apple pies. And then Josh showed up out of nowhere sticking his nasty fingers into his woman's apple pie filling! He could have had a heart attack.

It was a good thing Marilyn was such a quick thinker. Phew. The pie was saved!

"Why don't you go" bother "chat with Evelyn?" he suggested nodding in the direction of the Head Girl in the Headmaster's chair.

Because he was busy bothering chatting to Marilyn.


"I'm sure there's extra apples around." Carter replied. Yesh. He was attempting to tempt the Professor into making one... and perhaps sharing it... He then eyed the Professor's apple. Mmm... whose idea was it to put him by the food again? Perhaps Evelyn wasn't paying attention now and he could put some cinnamon on an apple and have a little snack?



Carter smiled. "Brilliant. Everyone down here seems to be having a good time as well." he said with a little nod. Whaaaa? Was she eyeing his pie? "Yeah." he said with a raised eyebrow. She better be sure to read the label. It did say 'touch and face his wrath'. But just in case that wasn't clear enough he added, "She made it," with love, "for me."

As in -- no touchie me pie!

Seeing all the apples around, the Slytherin WAS tempted to just summon one when someone wasn't looking, however, she resisted. However hard it was to do so...she did it.

She was though, quite aware that someone seated next to her, and Evelyn scooted closer to the headmaster's seat just a little more so it was KNOWN that it was taken. And it would be taken again by either herself or Professor Magnus. She was quite hoping that the Professor didn't want the seat though, because Evelyn...

She really wanted it.

OHMYGOSH GIGGLES!

Having took a quick peak at everyone else to see if anyone noticed that moment of panic she had, Evelyn spotted the Gryffindor boy. Her favorite Gryffindor boy (and person) at that, yet Professor Magnus' voice made it impossible to stare at the boy. No, it would be rude if she wasn't looking towards the professor as she spoke. Quite a relief it was though.

"Oh, alright." she nodded, taking a moment to breeeaaathe in relief before sitting down in her rightful seat. "If you want to later on though..."

Nudge nudge.

...

Someone...was sitting too close.

Slowly looking towards the invader, Evelyn raised a brow when she saw it was Arya; aka, Sensitive Ears girl. She was quite surprised she was actually using an indoor voice. "Really now?" she questioned, glancing over to the other Gryffindor boy who sooooo wasn't her favorite. "Yea, you're right. Might actually work up a sweat." What with all those thoughts of eating.

Turning her gaze back to Arya, eyebrow still raised, Evelyn smirked and started tapping the wooden spoon on the palm of her hand again. "Why don't you go and help him?" And moooove away from her personal space.

Marilyn smirked at Carter, watching Josh carefully in her peripheral. If he made a move, she'd be ready for him. "There couldn't have been a more appropriate activity for you to host, I will agree...I'm concerned about you being alone with all these pies, though." *smirk* Hopefully Evelyn would be able to keep him at bay. She was well aware of just how much he loved his pie.

Gah! And where was her blasted spatu...? Oh...

*giggle*

Looking under her oven mitt (that matched her apron, yay!), the spatula lay. Smirking, she picked up the utensil. Getting back to her earlier work, and still keeping an eye on Josh because he could no longer be trusted...Mar began mixing. It only took a few moments.

Now, to add...her ingredients...

Picking up the heavy whipping cream first, she evenly poured the dish among the apples, making sure to coat most of them. With a pinch of the powdered sugar to sprinker in, she grabbed up the spoon to stir it again.

"So, what do you think?"

''Hey!'' the Gryffindor protested when his finger was smacked away and now whatever was in the bowl, it was on his finger too. It did not look or smell bad but he still wanted to know what it was so he looked back at the Slytherin girl with expectant eyes but instead of answering his question, the girl simply yelled at him. Not to mention she eliminated the part of the thing he had touched as if he was something dirty. ''I am not dirty.''

Help him make it? ''I am not even allowed to touch it. How am i supposed to make it?''

However when Carter's voice met his ears and he figured what he meant, Josh's eyes got narrowed and he gave his housemate the look. ''So, you want to send me away?'' he then snorted, walked to Carter and wiped the thing on his finger away with the other's boy shirt. Grinning at his face, the lion boy took another bite from his apple and looked up at the Head Girl instead.

''Want some apples, hun?''

*smirk*

Kennedy finished layering the strips of pre-made dough. His pie looked just like the ones his mom makes... he just hoped it tasted as good as hers. He cleaned the area he used to cut and mix everything.

He picked up his pie and took it to the end of the table where they were told to leave them. The boy tried to remember if he had forgotten anything else, but apparently not.

Done.

Eying all the pies that were stacking up near them, including Kurumi's with the little stars, she may have smirked a little longer at THAT pie before her gaze shifted over to Josh. "I'm fine, thank you." Nothing wrong with the apple, mind you. It was just...near all of these people who had germs and it was probably in that germ-y water...

There was a reason she didn't take one before.

Once a good lot of the students were finished filling their pie crust and setting them on the table, Evelyn reluctantly stood up so she could take a parchment out of her pocket before quickly sitting back down. Perhaps narrowing her eyes at Arya in the process. Her chair. Yet, there was no time to win a staring contest. Waving her wooden spoon above her head, she called out to everyone, "HEY! You...peoples!" Yes, you. She didn't know all of their names.

"If you're done with filling your pie, set them on the table in front of us." Meaning her and Carter (and apparently Arya and Professor Magnus as well). "Meanwhile, for those who have finished, here's your next clue. Pay attention." Because she was only saying it once. Clearing her throat, she made sure she was able to read the words on the parchment before speaking it out loud:



Folding up the parchment, Evelyn smirked after the clue and stared at everyone. Use those brains you...minion peoples. Don't hurt yourselves though. That would be as bad as chopping off a finger. Eh. Meanwhile, she and Carter should be getting these pies down to the kitchen.

"It's ok." he said poking her in the elbow smally. He really wasn't upset by her insinuating that he didn't know how to cut apples. The Gryffindor double-checked the cutting of each apple to be sure they were thin enough and listened as Tori asked him to begin the next part.

"Sure thing, I will start them in two seperate bowls so we can have the right amount for each pie." Auggie said as he grabbed the two plastic bowls quickly and layed each pile of apples in them. Then he began to measure out the dry ingrediants. 2 three-forths cups of sugar in each bowl, followed by 2 tablespoons of flour; he was sure to make each cup and spoon a flat level one. Next he took two servings of both the 3/4 of ground cinnamin and 1/4 of the salt for each bowl. "Almost finished Tori." he said over his shoulder as he continued to work; Chef August Goldstein was rocking this.

Two more ingrediants to go. First one of each of the 1/8 ground nutmeg and lastly one tablespoon of lemon juice for the bowls. "Finished, we can just pour them into the pie crusts now and turn them in right?"

Carter was busy salivating staring at Marilyn's pie when Evelyn spoke. Was it time for people to move on already? "I guess that's my cue..." he said leaving Marilyn's side. "But I'll see you later."

And he'll probably take a few bites of her pie at that time.

He headed back over to Evelyn and the rest of the pies. He waved his wand and soon all the pies were hovering around the table. He patted his pocket to make sure the vial was still in there. Then he carefully picked up his Kurumi!pie and headed for the door. "Just send the rest down when they're ready." he said to Evelyn.

Then he left the Great Hall trailed by an army of floating apple pies.

Isabelle listened as the head girl gave out the next clue. It sounded like something about painting. Well she couldn't go there until she had finished her pie. Hurrying around she scrambled to get the rest of her ingredients. ¾ cups of sugar, 2 tbsp flour, ¾ tsp cinnamon,¼ tsp salt, 1/8 tsp nutmeg, 1 ½ tsp lemon juice, 1 ½ tsp lime juice, 2 tsp apple cider, and 1 tbsp apple jelly. Being carefull with her measuring she tossed these ingredients into her bowl with the apples.

Ok now she had to mix them all together. Isabelle grabbed a wooden spoon like she used for potion making and began to stir the ingredients around and around. Mashing the mixture all together hoping that it would do fine. So far her masterpiece seemed to be doing fine. She took a sniff. What it really needed was some more cinnamon and nutmeg. Isabelle took a pinch of each and added it in.

Finally, finished. Isabelle grabbed her pie crust and filled it up carefully with the mixture. It seemed to look fine. But, it needed something more to make it amazing. Isabelle looked around the table of ingredients and saw something perfect. Powdered sugar. The essence of deliciousness. Isabelle took a spoonful and sprinkled it over the top. Now it was finished for sure.

Isabelle walked up to where the head girl and prefects were sitting and presented her pie. "Here's my finished pie," she said with a smile placing it in front of them. "Ready to be baked."

Tori looked up as Evelyn read out the next clue, finishing up her two pie toppers just as she read the last line.

"Ready." Tori nodded, helping August scoop the pie goop into each crust. She carefully laid the tops on 'em and then crimped down the edges, adding four pretty little steamer slices in just the right places. Perfect!

"So where do you think the next place is?" she leaned over and whispered to him as she carried the pies to the right place.

Aww man the pies looked amazing and the third year could hardly wait to eat them; so it was sad seeing Tori taking them away to the prefects. They had better bring them back and not eat his and Tori's, their's were far better than any of the others and he bet they took notice of that as well.

Once she returned she had the next riddle in hand, which he consulted deeply--and got nothing. "Umm I may have an idea..." Auggie said vaguely and then just took off towards the exit (or what he thought was the exit but was really the door off to a chamber outside the Hall).

He was still a noob here and all.

Yay! Clue. Clue. Clue!

Right, calm yourself Cassandra.

After fussing over her pie, like adding last minute touches and all that, the blonde carried it over to where the head girl was sitting Which was the headmaster's chair and placed it down there while listening to her read the clue out for everyone.

Painting? uh? Cool and blue? Where was that? Cass thought as she - along with a few other people - shuffled out of the great hall to search for the next clue.

They did seem to be moving along swimmingly.

Pun intended. Heh.

"Just for you?" Arya questioned, eyes on the pie. The BEST PIE in the whole great hall. He was gonna share, right? Weren't gryffindor's sharers? Oh... no that was her house.

Maybe she'd get the little lion to bake her a pie later.

Arya KNEW that the seat was taken, hence her sitting RIGHT NEXT TO HER AND STARING.

... STARE.

"Really really." She retorted, inclining her head to Carter again. Oh so hard working that boy was. Maybe not working up a sweat, but he was standing which proved he was working soo much harder than this head girl was. "My task is done, why don't YOU go help him?" Huh? It was his and HER task. "I can keep the seat warm while you.. do stuff."

She would too. She'd keep it nice and warm with her body heat. The prefect continued to stare at Miss Too-Strong, prepared to steal her seat when she had been about to rise from her seat.

But then the girl got smart and quickly sat back down. Darn. Arya stared back and didn't move away from the girl, if anything she moved a bit closer.

She wanted that chair.

Alyssa listened to the clues. "Something that goes vroom, vroom. A car? But what about the part about not eating with dirty fingers." She puzzled over the clues as she followed the other students out of the Great Hall.

"Diffindo!" "Diffindo!" and "Diffindo!" she casted on the apples splitting them into pieces. Sarah then took a plastic bowls and lay each pile of apples in them. Then she measured out the dry ingredients. 2 three-forths cups of sugar, followed by 2 tablespoons of flour; she then put the 3/4 of ground cinnamin and 1/4 of the salt in the bowl.

Just two more to go. 1/8 ground nutmeg and finally one tablespoon of lemon juice in the bowl.

Sarah hurriedly filled the mixture on the pie crust as the head girl read the next clue. "Done" she said to herself and carefully laid the top and then crimped down the edges and topped it with her secret ingredient, brown sugar streusel. Looks good.

She carried it to the prefect's and placed it before them for the rest and hurried off.

Hmmm?

Yea yea. "Sure." she muttered, watching the line of pies following the Gryffindor out of the great hall and towards the kitchens. "I BETTER GET ALL OF THOSE BACK!" And in perfect shape. He could find a way to make it perfect looking, couldn't he? Then again...

Gryffindors and their brains...

Non-existent.

Might have to check up on him actually.

Now that the next clue was given, Evelyn was about to lift her feet back up and place them on the table, yet remembering Professor Magnus was still there, she opted for just being comfortable as she was. Well, comfortable with tearing little shreds off the sides of the parchment that held the clue.

Quite aware of Arya's staring too.

"Carter has it handled." she said with a shrug, not looking at the Hufflepuff Prefect, but she did look up to the exit of the Great Hall. Yea, he had it covered. Yet the images of his spell failing and all those pies dropping to the floor as he made his way to the kitchen...

Her imagination was getting the better of her.

Alright, NOW she was staring back at Arya. Stare stare.

Gwen tried really hard not to roll her eyes as she saw a few students finish their pies. How did you do it!?!?, she wanted to scream, but didn't. She then focused on the instructions. Hmm- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon. that would be what? The brownish thing?, she thought as she stared at the ingredient. Duh... probably this is it..., she decided, but still wasn't convinced about it. Once she added this one too, she could smell the cinnamon. Yeah- what next?, the young Ravenclaw glimpsed back at the parchment and bit her lip.

Salt- finally one thing I can recognize without problem... 'WHAT is that?', she mumbled as her eyes went wiide. 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg. Which one is it?, the second year asked herself and stared at all the ingredients. Looking around, she tried to see what the others were doing. Ack- no! I won't cheat- at all, she thought and frowned.

Hmph.

Let's try this one...Adding this ingredient, she realized there was just one more thing left:1 tablespoon lemon juice. Having finished the filling, she put it the pie crust in the pie pan. 'DONE!!!', Gwen screamed. Oooh, it looked really didn't look so good. I wouldn't eat it, she thought as she walked towards the head girl. I'm not going to get disqualified, am I?

Pam pam pam- let's hear the clue!!! Listening to what the head girl said, she smirked and was ready to leave.
