The Kitchen and Hufflepuff Common Room are accessed via the staircase to the right of the main staircase in the Entrance Hall. You follow along a bright corridor adorned with paintings, the most notable of which is the still life of a bowl of fruit, though the pear of old seems to be covered up by a note of some sort. Strangely the corridor seems to have odd smells wafting through it. Did something get burnt in the kitchen? |

Tinka had popped in during the astronomy lesson and caused quite a stir messing up papers, knocking over desks and even attacking a student, Sierra Greingoth. Tinka had a few minutes later left to go smack herself in the head with a pan for acting badly. Feigning a yawn as they came up to the kitchen entrance Professor Roslund turned to Kurumi "Do you think she'll come out and see us if we call her name?"
The kitchen the leves had closed off to visitors so they couldn't exactly get. "Tinka, Tinka are you there?" Professor Roslund called out in a loud voice hoping for the little elf to appear. Kurumi had wanted to sprint through the corridors to the kitchens, so Professor Roslund's snail pace was killing her. Well, to be fair, it wasn't really a snail's pace, but Kurumi wanted to get to the kitchens as quickly as possible and would have liked it if they had simply Apparated there, but she knew that was impossible within Hogwarts unless you were the Headmaster she had heard. " Um...I am not sure, Professor," Kurumi said with a small frown. She had seen Professor Magnus come down to the kitchens and call out to the elves, only to receive no reply at all. " I-I suppose it couldn't hurt to try..."
She jumped back a bit when he did call out, but Kurumi wasn't entirely sure that that would get her to come out. Sometimes, it could be tricky talking to house elves. She had once accidentally ordered Twinkle to do something she hadn't meant to by the tone and choice of wording. " Tinka? Please come out," Kurumi squeaked. " We...have to talk."
That was...sort of a command, right? Not that they had to follow the commands of students or anything, it just usually helped make things happen with the house elves.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Tinka the house elf |
Tinka had heard the voices of Miss Kurumi and Mister professor from inside the kitchens. She had hung her head in shame. Tinka had been a bad elf in Misters class - even though she hadn't meant to be. She was merely looking for....something. Something that turned out not to be there. But her punishment was complete - a frying pan to the top of her head. She'd seen stars, but was now better. Although she wasn't sure what to say to the two calling humans.
Popping up behind them in the corridor, Tinka shuffled her feet about and looked down. "Mister and missus called for Tinka? Tinka can't stay long, she has to go and....clean the armour." Lying was not something the little elf was used to, and it took all her might to stop herself from hitting her sore head with her hand. Instead she ball them up and kept them behind her back.

Turning around Professor Roslund saw Tinka appear in the corridor behind them. She seemed to have a bump on the head but otherwise seemed fine. Shooting the little elf a kind smile he said "Yes we did Tinka." "Are you all right? I hope you didn't get the bump on the head from hurting yourself with a frying pan." he wondered concerned. "What happened during the Astronomy lesson was not entirely all your fault. I should have let you know that i had changed the lesson time." Eddie apologized.
Clean the armour?
He stole a glance at Kurumi before focusing on Tinka again. "Erm, why do you need to clean an armour?" An armour didn't rust, did they?

Kurumi's smile widened when Tinka appeared. Oh good! There were no extra bandages or anything on the elf, so she hadn't taken a hot frying pan to herself. The forks at the opening feast with some of the house elves had been...horrible for her to watch. She really wished that they wouldn't do such things to themselves. Then again, telling them not to punish themselves was sort of like telling a river to stop running...they were just following nature's course, right.
Didn't mean that she liked it though. Nope. But she was getting herself sidetracked.
"Cleaning the...armor? You mean in the armor gallery?" Kurumi asked, cocking her head to the side and tapping her bottom lip. "That's interesting considering I saw Quirly...cleaning the armor as well." Although, Kurumi didn't believe the cleaning excuse then, and she certainly wasn't believing it now.
Yep, these house elves were worse liars than Selina. And THAT was an accomplishment.

Beatrice was walking calmly towards the Kitchen, hoping that the house elves were done with their strike and would let her eat ice cream there, just like what they used to do around the start of term. She was walking while singing in a low voice, "So..if you wanna know here it goes gonna--" Yet she stopped singing and walking when she felt something moving inside her bag.
She opened it slowly and.... "Quiglee!" It was her egg. She took it out. It really was the something that caused the sudden jerking inside her bag for it was vibrating. Yep, vibrating. She had grown being used to those abnormal unusual actions that her egg in Charms did. But she still finds it freaky and it sometimes scares the magic out of her. "Now what?" She asked the egg. You might find her a little bit out of her mind if she's talking to the egg but trust the instinct, that egg understands her. And sure enough, after she asked it that question it stopped vibrating and she noticed that its surface was undeniably dry. So maybe it was trying to tell her about that.
Pulling her wand from her wrist holster, she transferred Quiglee into her left hand, pointed it towards the egg and muttered, "Argentum Humidus." A light emerged from her wand, hit the egg and its surface started to get damp. And holding the egg started to get slippery. Okay, too much use of the spell. She was about to pull back her wand but too late..the egg fell on the floor and rolled off.
"Quiglee!" She called out as she ran after it. Why did she also have to chase that egg around? Then it came to a stop when it hit someone's shoe. She picked it up and looked up to see Professor Roslund. "Errr--hi Professor!" She greeted, standing up then she saw Kurumi and a house elf. "Hello Kurumi." She said, while she looked at the lioness Prefect, and "Hey." She murmured at the house elf.
She did not know what they were doing and it was not her business to know so she hurriedly turned her attention back to the Astronomy Professor, "Uhmm..sorry for the disturbance." She gave him a sheepish smile. "Well, carry on." Beatrice said to the trio then dashed away as fast as she could.

He stole a glance at Kurumi before focusing on Tinka again. "Erm, why do you need to clean an armour?" An armour didn't rust, did they? Tinka still stood, head bowed, trying hard not to make eye contact. If she could see them seeing her lying she'd have to punish herself again - with the iron. Or maybe Nimma could do it. Tinka's hands were still sore from last time. "Tinka punished herself, yes mister. But s-s-she fine now." Tinka rubbed the little bump on her head and sniffed. Now mister professor was saying sorry to her? "Oh, no no," Tinka said, waving an arm up at the man. "It's Tinka's fault, she should not have made mess - even though she didn't mean to."
Armour, huh? Ohhh. Tinka clean that, yes! "Studentsies hands, sir. Alllll over, ummm, it. Them. Yes. Not clean." Quote:

Yep, these house elves were worse liars than Selina. And THAT was an accomplishment. Oh oh oh, Tinka did not like the tone miss Kurumi was talking in. She did not believe Tinka, did she? And that made the little elf's bottom lip wibble. Raising her eyes slightly, she nodded at Kurumi. Quirly had already been to the armour? Hmmm. Must not be there then. "It is very dirty, missus. Smudges....and...dirt."
Tinka turned her head when another studentsie turned up and said hello. Tinka gave her a small lopsided grin, but didn't say anything.
