Selina was making her daily rounds from table to table tasting each of Kurumi's individual house cookies. Every year the Gryffindor made each house special cookies that matched the emblem of their house and every year Selina needed to have a cookie from every house to make sure that they were not poisoned or something to that affect. Finally she came upon the Hufflepuff table and took a delicious bite into yellow frosting. Then she smiled at the taste of the cookie.

After enjoying a bit of her treat she looked down the table at a pretty headband and headed toward the owner, "Hey there, I really like your headband- VIOLET!"

Violet had noticed in the corner of her eye someone who was from Gryffindor eating one of Kurumi's famous house cookies that she made every year. She actually couldn't help but eat one herself and enjoy it completely. Violet then heard someone compliment her new headband. She smiled and said before she began turning,"Oh thank you, I quite enjoy it myself, actually I bought it before I left Diagon Alle-" she gasped when she realized who it was that was eating the cookie and complimenting her headband. In a moment Violet was out of seat and squealing with excitement as she wrapped her arms around her best friend. "SELINA SKYLAR! I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU IN OVER AN HOUR!" She squealed again.

Selina laughed as Violet hugged her tightly. Then suddenly, as per the way most of Violet's hugs went, Selina started to lose oxygen in her lungs. With baited breath she let out, "Violet... you're hurting me."

Honestly she had no idea where the little veela got her strength, perhaps it was the Harpie in her. All Selina knew was that every time Violet and Selina had some physical encounter Selina ended up bruised or injured or unconscious. Either way she was starting to grow weary of Violet's hugs. Yet how could she deny that face, which was currently suffocating her.

" Good to see you Minerva" William said to her. " No, I am actually in Gryffindir" Willaim told Minerva. "We can go to any table yo uwant to and even the staff table to get to know the teachere' Willaim explained to Minerva." It is cool we are friends" William smiled.

Hufflepuff. I'm a Badger now. Great!, Daphne thought as she made her way to her house table. Oooh. Her first day at Hogwarts! How exciting! Although..the girl honestly felt a little uncomfortable in her robes. Didn't it make her look a little fat? Huh. Anyway..

Daphne reached the Hufflepuff table and took a seat, feeling extremely awkward. Now, what? Would people think she was weird if she introduced herself or did she have to just sit alone and not talk to anyone? This was all so confusing. Eeeeek.

Whilst in the hug Violet began bouncing up and down with her best friend, who was still shorter than Violet, poor Selina. Only being 5 feet tall must be really tough, well as long as Violet didn't stay that short. Well actually Violet was only two inches taller than Selina, but still. What also must have been a little upsetting for Selina was that she was older than Violet by a few months. How unfortunate. Besides that, she was so happy to see her best friend.She then began noticing there was a very faint voice, almost like they were choking. It took her a second to realize it was Selina. Violet then immediately let go of her saying,"Still trying to work on that Sely! Sorry!" She smiled nervously at the little redhead.

At the Hufflepuff table everyone was making friends and the feast was endless but Laurie couldnt take her eyes off her twin sister Harvest about to be sorted. They hoped they would be sorted into the same house, but as much as they were alike they were also very different. Laurie had a feeling that in a second Harvest would not be sitting next to her.

Harvest sat on the stool with the hat on her head until finally the hat called out "GRYFFINDOR!"

Laurie's heart sank, for even though she had a feeling Harvest would not be in Hufflepuff with her, she still had an inkling of hope.

Lauries eyes met her sisters as she slipped off the stool and they exchanged little sad smiles.

"Its ok" she thought to herself as she watched Harvest join the Gryffindor table.

She turned to become involved her her own table. everyone was so nice and she could tell it was going to be easy to make new friends.

Glenn went and sat down at the table. She nervously fiddled with her ponytail, trying to get it to stay straight but only succeeding in making it fall out more.

Her brother was chatting with his friends further down the table and Glenn had a feeling she wouldn't be included there.

Feeling awkward, Glenn scratched her kitten Amata's pure white head who, amazingly was asleep as she often was.

Glenn looked up at her table and felt she should introduce herself. "Hey, I'm Glenn," She said blushing at how it sounded.

Perseus leaned up against Arya's shoulder to get chin scratches from the older girl, purring contently, and Arya used the short time to inspect the dirty utensils. Hm.

"Nice to meet you, Faven." Her smile grew a bit more at the girl's obvious excitement. "I know you are, you did get sorted into the Puff house after all." And they were, amung many other things, very hard working. Arya shook her head, "Your no bother. That's my kneazle, Perseus. He doesn't like all the noise, but he insists on sticking by my side." Or in her hoodie. "I was just making him more comfortable. Got any pets?"

The girl sitting next to her was obviously a first year too.

"Hi Glenn, im Laurie" she said back, "its nice to meet you. I really like your kitten, its really cute" She made move like she wanted to reach out and pet the girls sleeping kitten but then retreated, feeling like she didnt want to be rude.

Feeling awkward she tried to change the subject, "so what in merlins beard do you suppose is the reason for all this dirty silverware?"

Alyssa turned to her left and noticed that it was someone that she had seen earlier standing in the line waiting to be sorted too. She squeezed up the courage and stuck out her hand. "Hi, I'm Alyssa. As you can see I just got sorted myself."

After the Carriage Ride, Janice went to the Hufflepuff table. She saw that HEAPS of new Hufflepuffs are there, and at last she isn't the youngest in school. She scanned the table, looking for a friend or two that she knew, but it looks like there isn't.
Just then, Janice saw a First Year sitting alone. She decided to sit with her.
[b]"Hey, mind if I sit besides you?" Janice asked.
Janice looked around and saw a little Hufflepuff, a bit younger than herself, sitting in front of her. The little Huffie looked VERY like herself when she first sat in the Great Hall. She continued looking at her, not realizing that she hadn't finished her food.

Daphne smiled when she saw that a girl nearby was talking to her. Great. Thankfully..now, there was someone she could talk to. "Hey. I'm Daphne. Daphne Green. Nice to meet you, Alyssa." Daphne said, shaking her hand.

Daisy dropped down into an empty seat. Back at Hogwarts. At last. She grinned as she looked round the room. She was defintly no longer an ickle first year. The food looked wonderful. Daisy, not even looking at what was in it, pulled a dish towards her and scooped some lasagne onto her plate. Laughing at her weirdness, she then took a bottle of ketchup out of her bag and started to pile it all over her food. She must have looked so weird to anyone who didn't know her or her weird eating habits, but ketchup was a must have for Daisy with any meal...

Callen was hungry, and mad at herself for being late. Now there weren't many seats not taken around the table, and she might have a hard time finding a place to sit. She eventually found an empty seat next to a girl who was piling a wierd looking red spread on her food.
"excuse me," Callen started, "is this seat taken?"

'Nope,' Daisy smiled to the girl. She looked a bit older than her, probably a third- or fourth- year. Daisy realised she must have looked so weird, piling ketchup all over her dinner. It often made some people feel a bit sick, but It was what she liked.
'You can sit here, as long as you can put up with my weird eating habits,' she laughed.

Aaron took the first seat he could find, too hungry to care about whoever was sitting next to him. When he had eaten something he turned to see a young girl sitting next to him, a grin spread across his face as he saw what she was eating.
'Ketchup.' Aaron announced, 'could I have some, maybe?'

Daisy jumped, a fifth year had just sat next to her. She was now sandwiched between two people she barely knew, and boy, did she look weird.
Wait.
Daisy couldn't believe what she had just heard. He was asking her for her ketchup. Finally, someone who didn't think she was completly mad, he was actually asking for her ketchup.
'Sure,' she grinned back at him. 'I'm Daisy.'

'Aaron's the name. Nice to meet you.' He piled some ketchup onto his plate, his stomach grumbling. 'Thanks. I thought I'd be the only one to know what ketchup is.'
Without bothering to wait any longer Aaron piled a large spoonful of whatever he was eating into his mouth. It shouldn't be allowed to let Aaron go without food for more than 30 minutes, he was starving.

OHMAYGAWSH. Amy was here. Thankfully, and feeling a little green from the bump of the carrige ride, but that didn't matter, because she was here. Home. Her proper home, with its huge turrets, old stone and warm fireplaces and it's misbehaving statues and stairs, Amy smiled whimsically to herself. She had a whole year infront of her. Which was good. But not OWLs, no they were bad.

She filed in with the rest of the other years and plopped down on her usual bit of the bench, she'd changed out of her jumper and was wearing her uniform, so she didn't really stick out, but had refused to tie up her hair, no matter how many teachers had asked. Amy didn't tie up her hair. It was her pride and joy. She'd go nuts if she had to. She reached a pale hand across the table and sloshed some pumpkin juice into her goblet and took a sip. This was the boring bit because she, like Sammy, loved the food bit. Until it got to the food bit, it was boring

Mia's mood had only lifted slightly since getting off the train. It was hard to be all moody with all these happy faces running around. And it was it just her or was there like a million first years? It was quite bizarre.

But she gave them all a wave and a smile as she passed each of them down the Hufflepuff table. And gosh, finding a spare seat was damn near impossible. She spotted a girl who looked only a couple years younger than herself sit down and Mia quickly claimed the seat beside her.

It was then she noticed the cutlery and she raised an eyebrow before turning to look at the girl beside her. "The elves gone a strike, do you think?"

Yadda yaada..

Eh?

Amy turned as she felt a bump next to her, but thinking it was Sammy, turned to hug her. OHWAIT. No. Retract. Amy put her arms down as she saw not only was the girl not Sammy, she wasn't even looking at her and was instead, looking at cutlery. Hmm. Actually, she was right Amy thought looking down the table, I think so she said, slightly stricken, if they'd gone on strike, what would happen to the food? Amy had to eat. She hadn't eaten much all day, bar the sweets back in the train, so that she could gorge herself now. THERE HAD TO BE FOOD

We'll still get fed right? She said to the older girl, trying not to sound to distraught. Though it was tricky, because, well, Amy was bloody hungry. And her mood went south when she got mega hungry

Picking up a spoon, Mia gave it a critical look. It looked as though it hadn't touched since last term. Quite frankly it didn't bother her, she would still eat off it if she had to. Or she would just simply clean it. But the younger's girl question gave her a reason to pause and consider this for a moment.

"Well if they have really gone on strike, we might have to prepare the food oursleves." Which would probably be a disaster since Mia wasn't the greatest of cooks. She was still learning.

Mia heaved a sigh. Well this was just great. She hadn't wanted to come back to school but her boyfriend insisted that she did and now look. The elves weren't here. Who was she going to whine to now? Belatedly realising that she was talking to a girl she didn't know. She dropped the spoon onto the table and held out her hand. "I'm Mia by the way. Seventh year."

Penny walked into the Great hall, so glad to be back...

she made her way down the Hufflepuff table looking for someone she knew, but the table was so full of first years, it was difficult to see...

"Wow, it's been a whole year since I was a first year", Penny thought to herself as she sat down randomly - feeling quite hungry now, she waited for the food to appear.

Faven was realived when she saw the prefect smile. She was glad not only for the girl's increased happiness, but also the fact that she was getting on good terms with her. Her mum had always said that it was best when the people in charge knew who you were and liked you. "Good, I was worried for a moment. Ohh! A kneazle! A girl I met told me about them on the Express! A species related to the cat! Poor guy, he is beautiful!" Faven said in awe of Perseus. :I hope he relaxes more soon. Oh...yes I do!!" Not at home with mum and dad, but here with me I have my new beloved Eros!" Faven couldn't help but grin even bigger at the thought of him. "He is a baby snowy owl, and I just love him to bits."
