Welcome to the Gryffindor Locker Room. Along the wall, you see lockers to store your school robes during practice or matches. You see loads of magical pictures displaying past Gryffindor players. There is one of Agie Rae and Kerry Brandywine, and Torie Ledger holding the Quidditch Cup. Another one shows Alexis Chosen dodging a Bludger. You see Anna Greingoth performing an outstanding save to protect a Gryffindor lead. A picture of Simon Bennett, a former captain, is displayed with all the Gryffindor captains from the past years.
Gryffindor colors of scarlet and gold are everywhere. Quidditch equipment and robes are here for the new team to wear and use. There is an entrance to the pitch, too.
Come in, take a seat, and tune up your broom before going to practice or a game.
The locker room and practice pitch is the place where Gryffindor Captain Carter Phillips will hold practices and post announcements. It is not a place for you to RP, unless your captain says that it's okay to RP getting ready for a game or when a game is over.
OOC-only comments are not allowed in this thread. If you have a question/comment, please send the person a PM.
Only those who are on the Gryffindor Quidditch Team roster are permitted to post in this thread. The only exception to this rule are substitutes approved by the Quidditch Official. House prefects and school staff may also post in this thread when needed. | |

The general consensus was that the weekend tryout times were the best for everyone for practices. So, the following practice times have been set:
-- Friday September 23 @ 8 PM EDT (Midnight GMT)
-- Saturday September 24 @ 1:30 PM EDT (5:30 PM GMT)
-- Thursday September 29 @ 7:30 PM EDT (11:30 PM GMT)
-- Friday September 30 @ 8 PM EDT (Midnight GMT)

Carter walked out onto the pitch carrying a quaffle under one arm, his broom over the shoulder of his other arm, and a small bag of golf balls dangling from the handle of his broom.
He smiled at all of them. "Alright. Our first match is against Slytherin. The Slytherin team likes to fly low, so we're going to work on our dives and catches today. So, chasers, I want you to make the worst throws ever. You never know how you need to throw in a match, so this'll be good practice."
He then turned to Kurumi, "You and me will work on your dives."
He motioned for everyone to mount their brooms and join him in the air.
Quaffle: What was Harry holding in his hand after McGonagall took his Firebolt from him?
Snitch: Which charm did Neville master faster than all other DA members apart from Hermione?

Carter dropped the golf ball and smirked at Kurumi -- who had a look of complete disbelief on her face. Yes. This is what practice was going to be today. She took off after the ball and managed to catch it before it hit the ground. "Go ahead and drop it. I'll pick it up after practice." he instructed her.
He then looked to see how the chasers were doing... how come nobody touched the ball...? Were his instructions really that confusing? He fetched the ball, and threw it... and just to illustrate his point, he made a little grunt and the ball fell quickly to the ground.
...
"Okay... now you try..." he said as the ball fell to with a thud to the ground.

Carter beamed as Gideon went and fetched the ball. With a similar grunt he launched the ball FAR to the left. Selina eyed the ball and zoomed under it. It landed squarely in her hand.
Nice.
Now, back to Kurumi. This time he threw the gold ball straight at her. She screamed, but caught it. "Sorry, just making sure you're paying attention."
Ahh, being Captain was fun.

And now it was Brooklyn's turn to make a horrible throw. With a cute little "Ugh!" she released the ball in a throw that was nearly completely upward. Selina seemed to be thoroughly enjoying this type of practice. "I got it!" she called and with spectacular speed she beat the ball to where it was going. She caught the ball and then waved it in the air to show Carter... who, in turn, chuckled happy with the girl's enthusiasm.
Now, to throw the ball for Kurumi... he threw it quickly to the far right. She glared at him before taking off after it. After becoming nearly flat against her broom, she caught up with the ball, stretched her arm... and safely caught the ball in her hand.

Carter could tell that Kurumi was going to get tired of his little game. She should be grateful though that he didn't even invite Destiny to charm a levitate a golf ball instead. That would have driven the Prefect insane!
After another perfect dive and a near-the-ground catch Carter new it was time to up the game plan. Next time he was going to throw it... hard!
Now it was Selina's turn to throw the ball. She too let out a weak grunt and the ball arched right... right to the ground. "Come on guys! In a game, she might be blocked and actually have to throw like that."
