Carter laughed... for the first time in what felt like weeks. "Oh. You'd know if I was trying to kill you, mate." he said with a smirk. Or maybe not. He'd probably go ninja should he ever decide on doing that.

Ehh... but that wasn't the point.

He gave his mate a solid slap on the shoulder. "Sounds brilliant." he replied. It was one of the few things he was looking forward to after leaving Hogwarts.

He'd still have Josh. And he'd still have Cassie. And he was planning on visiting Destiny. Marie was getting married. And he'd have quidditch.

Carter could do this, right? He'd make it through tonight. And he'd make it through the rest of his life.

...Right?



Carter hugged the Ravenclaw back. Could he just steal her? Dallin wouldn't mind, right? He just wanted to steal Ellie... lock her in a closet somewhere... and take her out whenever he felt sad. The girl was fantastic at cheering him up. He was going to miss her.

Plus, she liked cheesecake. Anyone that loved cheesecake was good in his book.

He blinked... a few times. Great. He was going to be great.

"Thanks Ellie." he said his voice cracking once more. He'd needed to hear that. He needed to know that he'd have a good life outside of Hogwarts. If he ever needed a body guard... or manager... or personal cheerleader he knew just who to hire.

Dallin wouldn't notice if he just kidnapped her right now, would he?



Carter smiled at the Prefect. The Prefect he wouldn't have known if she hadn't tried out for quidditch. It was the only thing that came to his mind of things he was grateful to Adam for.

He couldn't help but let out a few more tears. "I promise to write. And I promise to wear that." Not that he knew what it was. Nor did he care. He'd wear a parka featuring a baby elephant for Kurumi.



Carter smiled and nodded at Gideon. He'd be able to feel better about his lionesses knowing that once he and Josh left there'd be others. But then again... now Kurumi and Selina and Gideon were going to be the upperclassmen. In a few years they'd be saying goodbye to the youngin's that considered them their older siblings.

Carter was getting old.

Chris walked into the Great Hall for the End of Term Feast. It was hard for him to believe that the year was already over! His first year at Hogwarts had gone so fast! He looked over the Gryffindor House Table for his friend Emma, but he didn't see her. Oh, well, he thought, she'll show up. She was probably already here, and he just didn't see her. Chris wasn't the most observant type. As he walked to the table and took his seat, he thought of how he couldn't wait to come back next year!

John raised a brown and looked down at his dog tags.

"After I get my cast removed, I'm going to move back to Boston. So I can once again attend the muggle Aviation Academy." John said proudly.

She smiled at the squeeze. She could tell that he was a little concerned about her. Perhaps she should eat something, after all she would not get the chance to eat Hogwarts food again for another two months... two very long months. It would be weird to not wake up every morning in her four post bed with Kurumi laying the next bed over snuggled up with Walnut and drooling a little on her pillow. All around it was just going to be a weird sensation, living without her friends everyday.

When he chuckled she grinned at him and said, "Do you find something I said amusing, Mr. Gert?"

But before she could wait for his reply he heard him yell something about Christopher. Her blue eyes darted across the room to see her "brother" looking all sorts of out-of-place in the Common Room. It seemed to her that he and Violet had not exactly worked out their issues... it was going to be a long summer.



When Gideon beckoned Christopher over she nodded and yelled, "Oi, sour puss... slap a smile on that face and get your bum over here." He was not going to be an angsty, sulky fifteen year old boy his entire train ride home. She had to deal with him everyday for the rest of the summer being that he lived with her. So there was going to be no sad faces or anything of the sort. She was just not going to deal with it.

If she had to she would spend the entire summer up in the air on the pitch.



Selina looked up from Christopher to see Jai standing there all smiley. He was the only seventh year, besides Josh, who walked in the hall with a very positive attitude. It seemed to her that he was somewhat pleased with the work he had done as prefect this term. She had to give it to him, he had done some extraordinary work this term.

"Hey Jai," she waved at the Gryffindor boy who, like Josh, had a lot of house "pride".



Carter. Good ol' Carter telling her to be good the next term, "When am I ever not good?" she inquired feigning a hurt look on her face. Then she cracked a grin in his direction and said, "I'll be as good as I can be. As for Gideon," she glanced to her left and pinched his cheeks, "Well, I'm always nice to him... look at the face."



Selina laughed at his comment. When he started laughing she could not help but join him. He had a very contagious laugh that she would miss. Although she was somewhat used to hearing that laugh accompany another hearty laugh of Carter. It was weird seeing the two stooges go off to join the adult world. They were Gryffindor boys and now what were they? The thought made her a little sad, but Josh's laughter soon took her from that sad place.

"Nothing special. Just wanted to say goodbye to you before you rode out of here forever."



While she was in the midst of talking to Josh she heard Lexi nonchalantly say something to her on the other side of the table. She turned her head quickly and replied, "Just remember to be careful with all of those Muggle appliances."

*sigh*

The gryffindors, yes. She was going to miss them, well most of them. *cough*
There were so many lions for her to say goodbye to. She didn't know who or where to start. She stood at a empty seat and looking down at the table. She felt like she could burst into tears at any moment. She'd held herself to together well so far.

Yes, things HAD indeed changed. Lexi had taken on a lot the past term to get the Yearbook going... She hoped it would not make anyone unhappy. She had indeed done her best and she had a stellar team of writers.

"Thank you. And of course you can, kiddo."

Then her attention was caught by the sight of Slytherin robes... was it... No it was not Sal, but it WAS Caroline.

Waving her hand Lexi then called out to the girl, "Caroline!" She then motioned her forward. No she was NOT going to hug the girl, but she did want to tell her she was a tremendous help on the Yearbook AND that she thought she was good people. Heh.

"Huh?"

Christopher was immediately snapped from his thoughts when he heard a familiar vioce calling his name. Looking around, he found that it was Gideon who had summoned him, with Selina yelling over right after. A smirk crept onto his face as he approached the pair, but the large group of their friends was almost uncomfortable for him, as he only really knew those two very well.

"Who're you calling sour puss? You haven't even touched your food. And that's a sure sign of Selina-sadness," he mused as he plopped down next to his sister. Selina not eating was like Kurumi not baking. It just didn't happen. No wonder the two were friends.

Finally finding was she was looking for, she removed the small package and handed it to Carter. She had a lot of these in her little bag, each with a different purpose depending on the receiver. "I know that it isn't as powerful as runes would be, and I am not sure how much you believe in non-magical forms of protection...but this is from one of the power spots back home. It's meant to protect you while driving...no crashes or accidents...I-I-I hope that it could be of use to you..."

Had she known that he would be willing to wear a parka featuring a baby elephant on it, she would have bought him one of those plus a hat with a long trunk hanging off of it. He would probably still manage not to look too ridiculous in such attire though.

Kurumi was sort of bouncing in her seat now. All sadness she had about saying good bye to Lexi sort of seemed like a distant memory now. Perhaps this came with them sort of already having set plans sort of for once school ended. Now, with the prospect of baking a cake on the horizon, Kurumi felt even more excited about the summer. Seemed like the perfect way to be able to give back to Lexi: making her the BEST cake ever!

"I assume pink would be a primary color...daisies for decoration perhaps...how many tiers? Round? Or something nontraditional?"

Giving the Gryffindor a few reassuring pats on the back, Ellie sighed. She wished she had gotten to know Carter sooner. She had a feeling they could have been great friends. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. But this was still good.

When Ellie heard his voice crack, she pulled away from the hug but kept her hands on his arms. "Don't hesitate to owl me. If you ever need a bodyguard or a peptalk. Or just a friend." She told him with a smile. Or a cheerleader. Or someone to break someone else's nose. She was good at that too.

"And I'll always be in the stands, cheering you on. Not only because Puddlemere United is my favorite team, but because you'll be there, making it that much better." Her smile turned into a grin, though she sort of felt like crying. But everyone else was crying. She had to be strong. She was his pep-talker.

Rose grinned as she skipped down the table, feeling happy. They'd be meeting their guardian today! She was really excited!
She saw Ronnie, who looked sad, and sighed. She'd be missing her friends. Rose bounced beside her and hugged her tightly, before whispering.
'Well, you got me all summer!'

Jai didn't say anything , he just move foward and hugged his fellow prefect. "I'm going to miss your baking, oh and you." he said, with a small chuckle."You will take care of the pride while I'm gone right?" he asked pulling back and looking down at her with a smile.

Jai looked up and saw Selina. The last time he saw her, she was blushing."Hey Selina. What's up?" he asked her."I'm going to miss you."


Jai looked around when he heard a familiar voice,"Hey Caroline." was all he could say with his voice breaking. he stood there looking at her. Wanting to hug her but he wasn't sure.

There was this momentary Carter attack that made him got surprised at first but laugh anyway. And then the other lion was back to his position, once he was free Josh kept looking at the people occupying the Gryffindor Table trying to take every detail in. He was going to miss this sight of lions sitting at the table after all. So he wanted to memorize it well.

But all in a sudden there was another attack...wait...no. This did not feel like an attack but still it surprised him. It was way different than Carter's hug and it made him feel different as well. After such a long time, it felt like he was being loved and a little happy smile appeared on his face as he hugged the lioness back. ''Pretty Prefect Princess''



Ah...a wave!! With the smile remaining there, Josh gave a nod at the wave and blinked a few times. Well...was not this girl one of the few seventh year Gryffindor females? Perhaps she was too sad to speak up. That could be understandable. Even he was kind of forcing himself to remain all happy.

For a moment Josh just kept staring at the younger lion. Then slowly, his usual smirk was back on his face. ''Maybe?'' he repeated. Oh no. A 'maybe' was totally risking the bet for him against Carter the Oblivious Captain. So, nope Josh was not going to accept that reply.

''No maybe, Gideon. You will rise up and win over EVERYTHING!!! Dominate everything!!!''

Eh...had he exeggerated a bit? Hehehehe...nevermind. If he dominated enough perhaps he could be the next King of Lions so that advice was good. Yes, good.



''Really?'' Josh replied with a wider grin to his mate, of course, about this killing part. And all in a sudden many FUN ideas formed themselves in his mind but he restrained himself from voicing any anyway. It was too early yet. He just had to be patient and wait until they found the right time to have fun. Once they leave school, there were going to be lots of stuff to do and deal with.

Giving the lion boy a pat on the back, Josh just stood and stared at him and that stare, of course, was no ordinary stare. It had many meanings behind giving the other boy a clue about how fun his plans in mind were going to be. A very, very shifty look. Believing it said enough, Josh did not speak except saying. ''You are moving right away, yes?''



Oooh...look. It looked pretty to make a red-head laugh. Well...Josh was actually happy that he could put some cheerful air over the table to lighten all the sadness about leaving despite his inside state of sadness. That state was going to remain inside anyway. He was planning to keep it there and not to let it out or express until, at least, the feast would be over.

''Thank you.'' the lion boy gave her a warm smile and a nod then he playfully narrowed his eyes at her. ''Did not that sound poetic? Rode out forever!!''

Hahaha.

August had gotten a little caught up with packing all of his things up in his dormitory and was showing up late to the feast. He hadn't been away from home this long in his entire life before and he wasn't hoping to lose anything or leave stuff behind. Making sure he wasn't going to interupt anything important, the Gryffindor waited until he heard the chatter pick up agian and walked into the Great Hall, making his way to the long Gryffindor table and sitting down with Kurumi.

"Hey, so the term's over eh?" he said akwardly. It was a weird thing, he had survived his first year of wizarding school and the girl sitting infront of him had helped him through it so much.

Anna sat with downcast eyes to the surface of the table. Her long blonde hair streaming out from under the hood cascaded over her shoulders and back. Big eyes were blank and expressionless. Her appearance was not sad but rather as a very thoughtful. She was glad that soon she will come back home, to see parents, friends... But she definitely did not want to part with her school friends so quickly. "This year has ended so quickly..."

"Oh," Kennedy said, hanging his head a little. His only close guy friend was leaving. That sucked big time. He fiddled with his robes, trying not to grimace at this new piece of information. "A-Are you sure?" he asked. Maybe he cold change John's mind. "Hogwarts is great... it has a library...a lake...treehouse...lots of things man." Was that convincing enough?

Maybe not.

John chuckled and sighed. Obviously his dream was to leave but it wasn't confirmed on whether his parents want that for him.

"well no. I'm kinda hoping I don't come back, but my mom has a jet load of mood swings she's bound to change her a million times before she gives her final answer." John stated as he thought about the library.

"library? I've never stepped foot in there, I don't even know where it's at" John said as he laughed.

It was probably the best thing that had happened to him in weeks now. Orlando didn't even remember when was the last time he had smiled like he was smiling, seeing the gift Lexi gave him.

Almost immediately, his hands were wrapped around his best friend and he was hugging her for ALL she was worth. "You have no idea how happy this makes me, Lex!!!"

All the drama and emotions - Orlando loved it. When Josh smirked, Orlando couldn't help but grin. "I did I did! Most annoying thing I ever had to do .. but I did, yeah. How about you?"

All the good byes would surely make him miss the magnificent feast in front of him. AND Orlando DID NOT want to miss that. The feast that he was probably going to have for the last time. *.*

So ... it was clearly TIME TO EAT! And EAT A LOT.

Nessie walked in happily bouncing her way to her seat. She grabbed a plate and piled food onto the plate. She was anxious for summer to come. She wanted to get back to the cottage as soon as possible. She couldn't stop smiling as she started eating.

She chuckled and dried the remaining tears from her eyes. Leave it to Josh to make everything less sad and much better just by saying something completely out of the way. That was Josh for you and she wouldn't change anything about him..not for anything.

"So you don't think my looks and radiant personality is enough of an attraction for you? I am absolutely hurt Josh Carter." The smile on her face said otherwise though. She knew the boy was kinda kidding for the most part.

"Well how about you come and I'll feed you chicken? Hmm..?"



Cassie looked away from Josh when she heard the voice of her male bestie. Jai had finally put in an appearance. The boy was so quiet sometimes and just seemed to blend into the walls. She hoped he would break out of it soon. He was so fun when he let himself go.

"Hey JaiJai." She opened her arms for a hug.



Her dull mood had been improving greatly, maybe all the crying had made her feel better or maybe it was just having everyone together like this. Whatever it was, the urge to cry had lifted quite a bit. She just wanted to stay and chat until the very last moment when they were forced to leave for their different quarters. She smiled smugly at him." And you better remember that Phillips."

Cassie laughed at Carter's comment. He was so right. If this wedding planner thing worked out, she would do amazing things for the wedding of her friends." Good because you wouldn't wand legions of garden gnomes making a scene or having the cake explode unexpectedly...right?" And of course the worst thing that could happen.." or having some soddy no name making a mess of what should be your perfect day."

She huggled him and smiled. Why was he having girl problems again? Carter was so sweet.

Ronnie brightened up a little and smiled. "Oh yeah! Of course I do!" she said hugging her back tightly. "How you feeling? How's the twins?" she asked. The twins didn't know Rupert at all, so it'd probably be awkward/scary for them.

Minerva had gotten up from the Puff table and marched to the other table. She looked at Ronnie and Rose with her hands on her hips. "Will you two come join the group already or are Gryffindors to good to for the puff table." She teased with a small grin on her face.

John chuckled as she saw the young girl eat all that food. He's never seen a girl eat like that. Was there a problem with that? It was quite cool!

"wow, you sure like to eat." John said as he giggled. He was already sitting with his Slytherin friend, Kennedy.

Selena was not lost. Of course she wasn't. Selena Zabini-Riddle didn't get lost... at least not often but never in the Great Hall. What was she doing here anyways? What a great question, too bad she didn't have an answer. Eh, she supposed she'd live with it. She continued to walk around the Gryffindor table, there was absolutely no harm in doing so anyways so she'd just walk around... until someone nearly hexed her or something.

With Kent perched on her head, the Slytherin just continued to look around the place. What was she looking for? Nothing. Whatever. She'd just be incredibly awesome and let them all know that. Yup, that sounded like fun.

It seemed he had given the correct answer to Carter's words, the older boy smiling and nodding in his direction. Gideon knew he'd have to do his best to make the graduating lion proud and not feel the need to worry about the girls and other younger students that had been under his watchful brotherly eye. But he could do it, it wasn't as if he didn't care for those he had been given the responsibility of.

Gideon shook his head with a look of innoscence as Selina questioned his source of amusement while he sought to gather her brother into the fold. "Nothing...nothing at all, Miss Skylar," he answered, watching as she added her two cents to the request for Christopher to join them and the boy complying with it. He was about to answer his roommate's question for himself to tease him however the comment about Selina's not-eating stopped him since he had to agree completely with the statement. His attention turning fully back to her.

However his attention on his girlfriend was interrupted when Josh answered his response with a repeating of the word Maybe. Apparently he hadn't spoken correctly for the other 7th year who then proceeding to give him a pep talk on what he was to do when they were gone. "Aye alright...will do," he replied not sure he could dominate anything but he wasn't about to do anything that got Josh even more excitable.

After hearing her name Caroline looked up to she see that Lexi was the one who called her, and now she was motiioning for her to come over. She walked over to her. "Lexi!" She plopped down beside her. It had been nice getting to know her and work with her on the yearbook for the past two years. "How are you?"
Caroline turned when she heard a voice also say hello to Lexi.

She smiled when she seen Josh. She waved to him. "Josh!" She squeeled. Gah Kita had really rubbed off on her espeically with the squeeling. Caroline remembered the first time she met Josh Carter, it was in her fifth year doing the Slytherin vs Hufflepuff match. And now here they were their last end of term feast.
Where is Selina Skylar, she had to give her a hug and tell her bye, she really didn't want to come back next term to tell her bye.


Caroline stood up and immediately hugged Jai. After everything this term, she was glad that they could end this term on good terms and as friends. She smiled. "How are you?" She said letting go of the lion Prefect.
