Eat, drink, and be merry, O Lions. Classes begin again tomorrow.
The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
And what's this? The silverware is tarnished and askew, almost as if thrust on the table willy-nilly. Take a seat and search for a clean spoon while the Sorting Hat ceremony commences. The House Elves have done their clean up work quickly and effectively, and the silverware and dishes are now set to right.
Jackie looked at the girl who had almost shouted at her. Well, good it was just in a friendly way. She would've freaked if the first greeting to her in school wasn't good.
She went and sat beside the friendly looking girl. 'Hello,' Jackie said shyly. 'I'm Jackie.'
"I am Ella. Have you tried these scones, they are amazing!"Ella exclaimed pointing at the scones.

"You were quite right Tiffany these scones are amazing! Do you mind if I call you Tiff?" Ella asked. "I am not too sure really, it all sounds really fun."

Gideon had finally made it to the feast, having wound up in one of the later carriages making its way up to the castle. Guess it was punishment for not moving fast enough as he exited the middle cars. Oh well he was here now and the feast had thankfully not officially begun.
The fourth year made his way to the Gryffindor table, his gaze briefly landing on the front of the room where the stool and sorting hat rested. He paused in his movements to watch a sorting before taking a seat at one end of the table. Looking around he didn't readily spot any of his newfound acquaintances so Gideon simply settled in to wait for the headmaster's speech.
Selina was munching on another cookie when she saw another figure in red start to walk along the Gryffindor table. When he finally sat down Selina pulled herself out of her chair and walked over to Gideon. Once she arrived she plopped herself down and stuck out an extra cookie that she had taken for later, "Cookie?"

To be honest, she wasn't surprised that Adam was saying that he wouldn't recognize her in ten years. Clearly, he didn't care about her nearly as much as he had led on. Just like Treyen. Kurumi was fed up with this treatment and if the circumstances were different, Kurumi would hex his tongue off so that he could never speak such rubbish again.
"I am tired of fighting for you...for us..." she held up her hand to reveal that the cherry blossom ring was gone.
She looked down at her prefect badge and then back at him, her blood boiling. "Seeker as well, if you must know." And she now realized how foolish she was thinking that she was playing to feel closer to him. Why would she want to be close to someone like this. And to think that HE was her first and only kiss.
Kurumi suddenly felt like she had just thrown up several buckets worth of slugs.
"You're right, Adam. People move on and grow. I don't know where I will be in ten years, but you know what I hope? I hope that in ten years you have become a better man, a more mature man, a wiser man, a more humble man and a more spirited man, because the person standing before me is nothing but a selfish troll."
She walked forward a bit and stopped when she was only inches away from his face.
"Now, if you will excuse me, I have prefecting duties to take care of."
And with that, she had walked past him, wiping away the tears as she went.

Kurumi was punching at his every cell, nerve.Biting with her remarks about him an everything he had done to her.She explained how she had waited, how she had expected him to keep at least one of his promises to her so that she would know he hadn't left or changed in any way.How it had broken her to pieces.
He knew this time, unlike the so many others,he couldn't just pretend to know what he did wrong just to be back on Kurumi's side.It was much more than that this time.
They lived as one.Turned themselves into one soul an when everything had been at it's peak their whole world together had shattered into a million pieces like shattered glass, broken hopes an dreams. He had left her.A part of herself died in him since she didn't see him since his departure. An now he half expected that randomly waltzing back in would be the answer to their problems. That things would be forgiven.
Her age an intelligence would not be easily fooled this time. There wasn't any way around it.No sorry would solve the problem,he could tell in her voice that sorry wouldn't cut it this time.
"She told you?" He said rather aghast an shocked that CeCe would tell her,an maybe even worse Selina.
Then when the shiny badge was reflected in the light he took a step back.If he got too close to Kurumi,he knew that she would make that a reason for him to be given detention.
People grow up an change. We find new friends..Grow up will you?I bet you in 10 years I happen to randomly be walking a street you would recognize me but I wouldn't with you..People forget the ones they cared for an loved..Find some new people to love..I find my new one.." He told her in a annoyed, suggestive tone, wobbling his head about an slamming his hand on his knee an smirking all the same.
"But yeah..Prefect thats ummm..good.". He was happy for her.She completely deserved the honor the title, but at the moment he couldn't suppress the right emotion for it.
Everything had popped. He had tricked himself, though.Into thinking that once he arrived her things would be like the old days.Him an Selina by the quidditch pitch or arguing in the common room.Him an Kurumi hanging near the lake enjoying the sunshine.
But Hogwarts had changed.Or at least his friends.

He, however, based on his comment about them not being able to punch properly, hadn't changed a bit.
"You know what I would have expected," she said, trying not to allow her voice to break. "You to uphold at least one of your promises. You wrote me ONCE...and it was after it was too late. Not only that but you...you..." Her voice broke now. "I waited you know...like I promised..."
He knew what she was talking about. He couldn't try and hide it from her.
"And YOU weren't even the one to tell me. Do you know how much you hurt me?"
She took a step back and her prefect badge caught in the candlelight. Her hair color began to change back to black as she attempted to control her emotions more.
Now it was her turn to pull Selina away. "Selina, one more hit and...well...you know I have to do something about it." Best to just leave that vague. Kurumi wasn't sure WHAT she was going to do. "Save it for Quidditch tryouts, you know we need you."
Selina was beat red with anger. Of all of the things in the world Adam Burn had to show up and ruin what was seemingly starting out to be a good year. Besides the one small hitch on the Platform, which had been amended during the opening feast a few moments ago, Selina was feeling good about the upcoming year. She was a third year, she had her friends, a new outlook on life and, finally, a way to at least start to control her visions. BUT now Adam Burn had snaked his way back into their life and was already proving himself to be a major prat.
Did he hear Kurumi's cries in the broom cupboard? Did he see the color of her hair when she missed him? Did he see how badly she had been affected when she tried to find a new person to mend her heart? Did he see the utter wreckage and turmoil he left on his way out? No, he had been too busy fighting with Selina as he stormed out of Hogwarts to even take notice to the shattered second year who was now a strong and confident fourth year Prefect.
Kurumi had done so much without him. She had made the team, she had grown a backbone, she had been nominated Prefect and had slowly started to build her life again without him. Now that he was here again Selina felt a growing fear that she would just crumble.
However, after Selina punched him she felt Kurumi attempt to pull her away from Adam. She soothed the third year Gryffindor by reminding her about the Quidditch try outs. Kurumi was right, she needed to stay out of trouble for the try outs. There were priorities in life for Selina Skylar and it always went Quidditch, friends, food, "Yeah you're right. I just need to calm down and resist the urge to sever his head from his body." Too harsh?
Then she watched in shock as Adam bantered back and forth about growing up and waiting for one another. Finally Selina was not surprised when Kurumi shot her prefect position and Quidditch position in his face and stormed off. Selina then rose her hand to him as if to say don't, "You know, if I didn't have Quidditch try outs coming up I would seriously pummel you. You have NO idea what you did to that girl over there. And you know what else, you did something to me too. You told me that I was your sister. You told me that you would write. You told me all of these things. And you lied about all of them. I'm not your sister. Don't ever call me that, because I have a brother now and a sister to boot. And Christopher and Elyon treat me the way I deserve to be treated. You were always a prat, Adam Burn. But you wanna know why I dealt with it? Because I was eleven and stupid. I wanted to so desperately be liked by everyone and now I don't care. I'm happy in my own skin and I won't be made to be a fool by you anymore."
As August sat down on one of the long benches placed at the Gryffindor table, he eyed the utensils they were supposed to use to eat. "Ummm, who washed these?" he pushed his spoon and fork away from himself and switched them with a cleaner pair from a empty seat across from him. There that was better.
Now he just needed to meet some new Gryffindor friends. Out of the few he had met over in Diagon Alley, none of them were in the house he was just sorted into.
As Ness neared the Griffindor table she saw that there was no food there too nor any clean clutlery. She had already been to the other tables and they had nothing either. What was up with this place today? The feasts were usually huge and had plenty of food on each table with clean and shiney utensils.
She continued looking up the Griffindor table when she spotted a rather good looking boy. The boy switched his fork and spoon, She didn't blame him. His set did seem to be one of the dirtiest. She sat down next to him giving up on her search. "I Have no idea..but it deffinitely wasn't the elves they usually do an amazing job with the feast." said Ness answering the boys question. She would have to got to the Kitchens later, luckily for her the kitchens were right by her common room.
"I'm Nessie by the way." she didn't recognise the boy and she guessed he was new.
Saged nodded enthusiastically at Hayley. It was nice to meet a first year Gryffindor, she was kind of nervous about meeting new people...
Yup! I just got sorted! Can you beleive this place! It's huge, my brother told me about how big it was but I was never expecting this!" Sage said, attempting to start a sonversation with Hayley.
"Yes same with me! Its all new too me you see, Im a only child, and I was muggle-born! It was a massive shock to me!" Hayley said, this girl was so nice, and she seemed a bit shy, just like her!

Megan took and empty seat and looked at the food. There was so much she wasn't really sure what to do. She tried to take a little of everything and began to eat in silence.

"Yeah I know what you mean. It seems like the house elves must be away on vacation, hee hee. But the welcome cookies are still good as long as you don't put them on a plate. Anyway, "I'm Nathan Rubel, Gryffindor 1st year".

Nathan then quickly noticed a girl silently eating next to him. She looked about his age. He turned to her and said, "Hi, I'm Nathan, Gryffindor 1st year, here , have a cookie", he handed her a cookie from the too many he had grabbed in excitement of the sorting.

"That's very coo! I havn't met many muggleborns! I'm a half blood, my mum was a pureblood, but my dad was a muggleborn! Does that mean you went to one of those Muggle schools before Hogwarts?" Sage's father never talked much of the Muggle world, but it ws very interesting to Sage who had hardly visited the Muggle world. Maybe once or twice to visit her grandparent, but that was all.

"Yeah! Are you a first year?" Asked Sage, slightly unsure of herself...

Not really expecting an answer, since he tended to speak out loud to himself from time to time, August was a bit suprised when a girl sat down next to him at the table and spoke about House Elves and their usual cleanliness of the cutlery. "Oh House Elves DO work here right? I remember reading something about them in 'Hogwarts, A History'!" he said excited he actually rememered something from that book and was able to sound at least a tad in the know of wizarding things.
"Nice to meet you Nesse." he said shaking her hand. "I'm August, a new third year. I went to Muggle school before coming here." Yep, that's how he was going to be introducing himself for probably the next week or so.
Sage had just walked over to the Gryffindor table and took her seat looking for a fellow first year to talk to, most of the people she had met on the train had been sorted into different houses....
"Hello! I'm Sage! Are you a first year?" Sage asked the girl...
Megan took and empty seat and looked at the food. There was so much she wasn't really sure what to do. She tried to take a little of everything and began to eat in silence.
"Hello! What's your name? Im Hayley!" Hayley said with a wave.

"Uh hi, I'm Nathan, I just got sorted and I think I saw you amongst the bunch there".
"Awh yes I did too! Hello Nathan! I'm Hayley!" Hayley said.

Joaquin busy eating his chicken overheard someone else saying she was a Muggleborn. Now, he hasn't met much Muggleborns on the train so now he had a chance to meet one. He said "You're a muggleborn too? I haven't met much here. My name is Joaquin , what's yours?"
"I know! They have gone now!" Said Ella who was looking down at the food but then deciding that she had eaten enough.
"aha, thats good then! How did you get them? Too much too eat? Or drink? I must say its so cool all this food!"

Sage looked up and noticed the ceiling for the second time that evening, it was amazing after all.
"Yes, it looks magnificent! And the candles are floating! It's very cool! How do you think they did that?" Sage asked Ella looking back down.
aha, sporty? Thank you?!" Hayley laughed, she wasnt sure if it was meant to be a good thing or not! "The ceiling is pretty amazing, growing up in the muggle world I've never seen anything like it!" Hayley looked up and smiled.
Nathan chuckled right back and then all of a sudden Haley revealed a rather interesting fact about herself. "Wow, so you are a muggleborn. I am a halfblood myself but my father knew my mother was a witch even when they were dating. He loves the suoer natural, maybe a bit too much at times. But growing up my parents insisted I learn the muggle and magical way of doing things so I know both, hee hee".
Ronnie was SO EXCITED for the new year, that she literally skipped to the Gryffindor table! She actually skipped, she
looked like a fool. She found a seat near the end of the table, where it was quite empty and sat by herself. She had to keep some room for her younger sister, Plumeria, Rose, and Jordan. She looked around at all of her fellow Gryffindors and hoped to make some new friends hopefully this year. She wondered who the new DADA teacher was...hopefully the new teacher was cool! DADA was her favorite subject!
Plumeria nervously walked into the great hall, almost immediately forgetting about how she felt like everybody was staring at her when she spotted Ronnie. She power-walked over to her sister and sat next to her.
"Hey Sis!" She exclaimed, beaming at her.
"Oh why did they think you were weird?" Sage asked, Hayley didn't look very weird to her,"Did you do any accidental magic?"
"Once or twice yes! Once, this boy started teasing me, I got annoyed, and by accident I started lifted him up! I was very confused at the time..." Hayley laughed. "But now it all makes sense I guess!"

Adrianna slipped into a seat and looked up and down the long table. The table seemed full of students, and all of them looked excited to be back or to be here at all. Adri was the latter, and she hoped that this place would be as wonderful as everyone had said. She briefly wondered where her mom was, but then pushed the thought out of her mind. She would send a letter...
Something caught her eye and she looked up. Her eyes widened as she saw the hundreds of candles floating there, with a night sky painting the ceiling. But it WASN'T a painting. She smiled. This was one fantastic place.
