Joaquin noticed that there were some people talking about Slytherin and Gryffindor , he said "Hi! I'm Joaquin! You guys are first years right? Why'd you think you would get in Slytherin?"

"Yeah! Of course I'm excited! You see , I'm a muggleborn so I obviously I am very amazed!" he exclaimed

"Hi Elsie! I am a first year too! And could I take a seat next to you, Elsie?" Tiffany replied happily. She was really glad to be sorted in Gryffindor.

"Yes of course you can Tiff!" Elsie was happy everyone was being so nice, not that she had ever had any trouble meeting new friends!"

"Wow that is great! Congratulations of being accepted into Hogwarts then! Both my parents came here but don't worry I do not have anything against muggle borns! Did you know about the houses before you came here tonight? I was always hoping I would be sorted into Gryffindor!"

Josephine had been laughing with Maxwell and Joseph, her brother when she found a familiar face "Anne! Hello, I'm Josephine we met at Madame Malkins, remember?" God she hoped the other girl remembered, she was so tired of being the only girl between two boys.

"Yeah! I actually read up some much about Hogwarts and magic but didn't know what charms were and didn't know what Quidditch was" said Joaquin with a smile.

Tiffany took a seat next to Elsie. She smiled. There were lots and lots of chocolate snacks on the table. She couldn't wait to have some. She was born to be a fan of the snacks. She turned to Elsie and said,"I wish that I would be sorted into Gryffindor too! Look at this wonderful feast. I am going to have as much as I can have!"She laughed at her silliness. Then she turned to Joaquin," And Hi Joaquin! I am Tiffany."she greeted him with a big smile.

Ella sat down at the table that was to become her family for the next 7 years. Ella looked around at all these people hoping that she will soon meet some fellow first years.
"Hey, I'm Ella. First year. Isn't this place just amazing?" She said to no one inparticular.

"Really? I love Quidditch! I wish first years could be on the team! My Father was on the Gryffindor quidditch team when he was here and he taught me how to ride a broom!"

Elsie was so excited she didn't know where to look. She noticed the friends she had made earlier happily making new friends in the houses they were sorted into. Looking up the table she looked at all the older students and how happy they looked to be back, it made her feel incredibly optimistic about Hogwarts.

Josephine looked at the girl that had sat across from her "Hi! I'm Josephine! First year too, how are you?" she smiled warmly at the girl.

"I am fine thanks, yourself?" Ella said helping herself to some of the delicious looking food on the table.

"Hi Ella! I am Tiffany! I am a first year too.And besides, Hogwarts is absolutely amazing!" Tiffany greeted this girl sweetly.

"Hi Tiffany!" said Joaquin "Are you a muggleborn too" he asked Tiffany

While talking to Tiffany , Joaquin noticed another girl about his age. He asked "Hi , Don't worry I can hear you clearly , my name is Joaquin , Yes this place is amazing. Did you know the ceiling is really bewitched?" He told Ella

"Quidditch? I have heard about it. My brother told me that it was a wonderful game and he strongly recommended me to give it a try. Maybe someday when we were older that we were suitable to take part of the Quidditch team, we could play in the team together!"Tiffany replied excitedly,she couldn't wait to give it a try."Would you like some, Elsie?"she said as she pointed at the tasty pumpkin juice.

"I never even knew such a world existed until I got my letter. I am muggle-born you see." Ella said glad that she has met some really nice people.

"Yea I am a muggleborn too. There are a lot of things that I am going to ask you guys so don't ever think that I am annoying."she replied and they both laughed.

Josephine nodded "I am fine too! I just love this place" she looked around and waved at some friends on the Ravenclaw table.

Josephine looked at the girl and boy "Hi! I'm Josephine, I'm a first year aswell" she smiled.

"Me too but I have heard something about the world of magic from my brother before."Tiffany smiled."Take a seat,Ella."she said cheerfully.

"Hi Josephine! I am Tiffany."she replied decently. Tiffany was glad that she has met lots of first year student just like herself. They were all very nice to her. "Maybe we can sit together. Is it alright for you,Josephine?"she came up with a wonderful idea.

"Yeah, I read about it in Hogwarts: A History."

"I will probably do exactly the same, so don't worry" She replied through mouthfulls of food.

"So your brother also came here?" Ella said sliding along the bench a bit.

"It must be fun" said Joaquin.

How thoughtful of Kurumi to come over, Ari thought. She probably had a lot of responsibilities along with her new title, so it was nice she still freed up a little time to chat. 'Hi, Kurumi! It's nice to see you again. Congrats on becoming a Prefect, you deserve it, I believe you worked harder than anyone in Gryffindor.' Or the whole school, for that matter. Although William was catching up. Pffft. William. Ari resented him for earning more housepoints than herself, given that she had desperately wanted to make herself remarked amongst last year's firsties.

'My summer was okay, pretty uneventful. I went to Wales for a week with my mum and then I had some friends over at our house. You?' Ariadne wondered if things had changed in Kurumi's country, remembering the problems the older girl confessed she had back there when they had talked the previous year.

'Ronnie!' Rose squealed as she ran to greet her friend. Thank Godric she wasn't covered in blood anymore, but she still had the bandages off, luckily!

Fee was highly disgusted by the dirty plates at all the house tables and hoped to find at least one free plate that wasnt dirty.What was wrong with the houseleves?Should she be worried?!After all this didnt seem like the best start of term...

Approaching the table the girl hoped to find some of her friends here at least.After all she wouldnt be eating any od the delicious stuff on those plates.It was really a shame.Spotting a free seat the Slytherin sat down and looked around for some familiar or friendly faces.

Kurumi smiled, and perhaps even wibble just a little at the first year's comment. That may have been the sweetest thing she had heard all evening, and it really made her feel better,

"That means a lot to hear you say that, Skye," Kurumi blushed, placing a hand on the girl's shoulder. "How did your sorting go? Did the Sorting Hat know right away?"
Kurumi laughed. That was kind of an understatement. "Glad you like them," she smiled. "Expect a fresh batch in the common room every Wednesday. Been my tradition since my first year." And it was a good thing Kurumi had spent a good portion of the summer creating new cookie recipes. "You feeling better? You looked really upset when we, erm, ran into each other."


Kurumi's eyes were watering again. "What game are you playing at?" she snapped, taking even more steps back. "You know what, I don't even want to know." She slightly threw her hands up in the air.

To be honest, she wasn't surprised that Adam was saying that he wouldn't recognize her in ten years. Clearly, he didn't care about her nearly as much as he had led on. Just like Treyen. Kurumi was fed up with this treatment and if the circumstances were different, Kurumi would hex his tongue off so that he could never speak such rubbish again.

"I am tired of fighting for you...for us..." she held up her hand to reveal that the cherry blossom ring was gone.

She looked down at her prefect badge and then back at him, her blood boiling. "Seeker as well, if you must know." And she now realized how foolish she was thinking that she was playing to feel closer to him. Why would she want to be close to someone like this. And to think that HE was her first and only kiss.

Kurumi suddenly felt like she had just thrown up several buckets worth of slugs.

"You're right, Adam. People move on and grow. I don't know where I will be in ten years, but you know what I hope? I hope that in ten years you have become a better man, a more mature man, a wiser man, a more humble man and a more spirited man, because the person standing before me is nothing but a selfish troll."

She walked forward a bit and stopped when she was only inches away from his face.

"Now, if you will excuse me, I have prefecting duties to take care of."

And with that, she had walked past him, wiping away the tears as she went.
After the disaster with Adam, Kurumi wasn't sure that she could perform her prefecting duties properly. She felt broken again, that is...until she heard a sing song voice coming from just a few people down the Gryffindor table. "Lauren! Hi!" she smiled waving to the girl. "How is your ferret doing? Did he enjoy the train ride?"

Hopefully it hadn't caused a scene like Walnut had.
"Thanks," she said sheepishly, tugging on her black hair. "I hope I don't let you guys down. I may have a badge pinned to my uniform, but that doesn't really change much." Just meant that she had en excuse for being so active. She had to lead by example, right?

"Relaxing summers are always appreciated, especially after an eventful school term." No pirates this term, please.

HOLY MERLIN'S UNDERPANTS! WHAT WAS FEE WEARING!

Kurumi practically sprinted over to the girl, arms flailing and couldn't even bring herself to greet first.

"FEE! You are supposed to be in your school robes not...not..." Dressed like she was going clubbing? Kurumi had never been herself, but she DID know that the opening feast commanded more respectful attire. More traditional. "You need to go change before a professor spots you and takes points from Syltherin."

Could you imagine what Professor Lafay would say if she saw one of her snakes dressed like this? Kurumi didn't even want to think about the detention that would come from it.

Lauren shot Kurumi a grateful smile, instantly feeling much warmer. Whilst Orchid may be in a different house, at least she had the lovely Kurumi to make the transition easier!
"Bruiser's great!" Lauren exclaimed with excitement, "I normally carry him with me, in my robes, y'know, but he was a bit stressed out with all the people around..." He and I both Lauren thought.
"How's Walnut? Still causing trouble?" she asked with a grin, remembering the charming little cat. "And hey, what's on your chest? That badge?"

Gryffindor?

Tom was pleased.

Not because he had been sorted into the cool, brave house, but because it meant he had won a bet with his older brother. Freddie was CONVINCED Thomas would be a Slytherin.. but he was wrong, and now he owned the lad a nice cool twenty quid.

If only he knew how Slytherin his thoughts were.

The hat was removed from his head and he stood, and with his shoulders hunched, and his hands in his pockets, he swaggered (yes swaggered, which was slightly amusing given the lad's height and age: he looked just like a mini Freddie) his way over to the house with the red banners and lions, eyes narrowing on his as housemates his gaze swept across the table to look at them all. There woz blaady loads of 'em!

Would he fit in at all?

...Did he care?

Of course the lad cared. He was the same as all the other kids here: just wanting to be accepted and some friends. A task which may be easier said than done...

Tom wasn't the most gracious of people. He didn't really LOOK like anyone else here. His head was shaved and he had a slightly deprived look about him. His robes were tattier than the other kids who looked rosy cheeked and well groomed and fed. And to top it off, he was a late bloomer. Thirteen years of age and he'd only just got his invite to Hogwarts. Acceptance would be harder for him than for most of the first years who were all in the same boat.

He took a seat towards the top end of the table nearest the door to the Great Hall. He gave the person next to him a small, awkward smile before his eyes went to the food. Blaady 'ell! They could just eat as much as they wanted!? He quickly reached out for a plate, more interested now in the food than the other kids.
