Eat, drink, and be merry, O Lions. Classes begin again tomorrow.
The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
And what's this? The silverware is tarnished and askew, almost as if thrust on the table willy-nilly. Take a seat and search for a clean spoon while the Sorting Hat ceremony commences. The House Elves have done their clean up work quickly and effectively, and the silverware and dishes are now set to right.
"But I also think that these things have a powerful positive energy." She again raised her eyes to the ceiling and went on to say "If you really want it you can even feel it." Anna looked up from the ceiling and turned her gaze at the first year students sitting at the table. "You don't think that some of them looked frightened?"
" Yes, powerful positive energy" William agreed with Anna. Thanks, I will feel the bracelet" Willaim said to Anna. William felt the bracelet. It exuded some type of energy for him." Yes, sonme first years are frightened and some seem well adjusted to Hogwarts" William explained to Anna. " Time for classes now' Willaim smiled.

"You're right." Anna smiled getting up from the table, 'We must go."
"It's really fun!" said Willow, smiling at the memory. "We'll have to play together one day! Maybe ou could come to my house!" She wasn't quite sure how her parents would react to having a muggle-born over but she was sure they wouldn't care, she was Willows friend after all! "Well, I was taking lessons when we were living in London, but we've spent the last few years living in Australia, something to do with my fathers work at the Ministry. Unfortunately, we were placed in a small country town not to attract too much attention towards ourselves and they didn't have a dance studio. It wasn't too bad though." she added quickly. "So, what do your parents do, if I may ask?"
"I'd love to!" Emma exclaimed happily. That was assuming she could actually stay on a broom by then.
"Australia sounds nice" Emma said thoughtfully "I bet you don't miss the English weather" They had had a terrible summer this year, nothing but rain. So right now, Australia seemed bliss.
"Well my father is a mathematician, he works for the muggle ministry. He has to travel allot, but we have never had to move because of it. "My mother is a ballet teacher. My ballet teacher" She added smiling. "That's why I've been dancing for so long."
"Interesting couple eh?" She said smirking. "I always wonder how they could be so different and still get along. But they seem happy enough " Emma shrugged.
"Did you go to a muggle school before this" Emma wondered. She had, of course. But she wasn't sure if wizard children did.

As he stared up at the starry cieling he said, "The sky's very clear tonight, I can see a lot of stars, I don't see many back home..."
"Nope, I'm the only one. For now anyway." She added quickly. "My little sister Emily is nine, I really hope she'll get her letter too"
Emma looked up at the ceiling too and gasped. She had never seen anything like it. It was like she had never entered the castle at all. The stars were winking down at her comfortingly. "Wow" She managed in awe. "I hadn't seen that yet. It's beautiful."
She wondered where Chris came from if he didn't see much of the stars. She had always loved the sky at night. It reminded her of camping with her family. "Where is back home for you?"
Finally! Pixxi was finally at Hogwarts. All the nervousness she had felt on the train and in Diagon Alley was gone. When she sat down by the Gryffindor table she felt... Home. Like she belonged and had always done so.
She looked around and gave a little smile to the people sitting around her. She missed the very first Hogwarts feast, mainly because she had fallen asleep on the train and her stupid brothers Percy and Felix hadn't even bothered to wake her when they had left. Because of this little incident, she managed to miss the boat ride to the castle, which she heard some first years talk about in the main hall, and she had to walk all the way to the castle all by herself. Percy and Felix had taken her trunk and the traveling cage with her kitty Bells in it though. Nevertheless, Pixxi had been pretty grumpy while walking the road up to the castle all by herself, kicking stones and cursing under her breath. She looked around the table to see if she could find them, but they were nowhere to be seen. 'I am so going to learn how to hex people here!' She thought to herself as she smirked.
"I don't think I've seen her before," Tayla thought to herself. "A first year!"
Tayla approached the girl, stretched out her hand, and smiled. "Hi there. I'm Tayla Barnhill. Welcome to Hogwarts!"
SPOILER!!: WILLIAM

"Really? That's awesome! Maybe one day we could dance together" said Willow, slightly jealous that Emma's mum taught her herself! She loved her mum, but they didn't seem to have the same relationship as Emma and her mother. "Yeah, that is innteresting!" Willow smiled, "Maybe they balance each other out?" she offered with a shrug. "No, my brother, sister and I had a tutor, before we, or rather Caspar and myself, got our Hogwarts letters. It would have been nice to mix with other kids but I don't think my mother liked the idea very much.." she said with a frown. "What was it like?"

"That would be great." Emma smiled. It was nice to have someone here who shared her love of dancing. "Not to bad I suppose." Emma said honestly. "I liked my friends and the classes were OK. The thing I hated most actually was the homework." She said with a frown. My mother is no help at all with anything, and my father would get way to carried away and bore me to death." That had always been one of the biggest problems. She loved her father very much, but the moment you mentioned the word "math", he would engulf you in a four hour lecture about the subject. She suppressed a sigh just thinking about it.
And then she remembered "Why didn't your mother want you to go to a normal school?" She was puzzled.

Willow hesitated slightly, as she knew Emma was muggle-born and she didn't want to lose her friend. But then again, she was the total opposite to her mother! "Firstly, I just want to say that I'm the total oppostie to my mother ok! And any veiws she might have I certainly don't!" she said, before taking in a big breath. So, you know how I come from a long line of Pureblood families right? Well, my mother's side think very highly of blood status and they don't really like muggles very much... or like mixing with them anyway..." she said slowly, biting her bottom lip. "But that doesn't mean I don't! I think they're cool!" she said with a small smile. "Please don't hate me!" she laughed, nervously. Willow was terrified that Emma would think her mother's family were monsters or something, which they weren't, they were just very traditional.

"Oh, right" Was all Emma could make out. She frowned. Where there really people out there that hated her family, and her as well for that matter, so much just because of where they came from? Then again, it wasn't really fair to judge Willow on her family's views. By refusing to see this was her family's belief not her own, wasn't she doing exactly the same?
Seeing Willow's scared face, Emma quickly smiled and said; "It's allright. I just..." she struggled the find the right words "Didn't realize." She finished.
Seeing everyone leaving the great hall for lessons she asked; "Which lesson do you have now?"
"Nope, I'm the only one. For now anyway." She added quickly. "My little sister Emily is nine, I really hope she'll get her letter too"

She wondered where Chris came from if he didn't see much of the stars. She had always loved the sky at night. It reminded her of camping with her family. "Where is back home for you?"
"Well, if she does get her letter, I can't wait to meet her!" Chris said, "It is very beautiful..."
"I live in the middle of London, the light there doesn't allow for a good view of the stars..." Chris thought for a moment, then decided to ask Emma where back home was for her, "So, where are you from?" He hoped she didn't think it too rude...

Still feeling a little awkward about what just happened, Willow was glad Emma changed topics quickly! That certainly didn't go like she had planned.
She followed Emma's gaze and saw everyone leaving the hall. "Umm I think I have Defence Against the Dark Arts now." she said. "What about you?"

"Yeah, me too." Emma replied quickly. Willow still looked slightly upset. Emma hoped it wasn't her fault. She wasn't angry or upset with Willow, on the contrary, she felt proud that Willow trusted her enough to tell her.
"Shall we head over there now?" She suggested.
O.O.C Do you want to continue talking in the common room, or do you want to get to know someone else?

"No, I suppose it doesn't." Emma said thoughtfully.
Emma smiled at Criss. He actually lived quite close by. "I'm from Cambridge, but we go camping every summer. The stars remind me of our holidays together."
Talking about stars Emma continued "Astronomy seems fun, don't you think? My father has already taught me loads about the galaxy."
But then she wondered allowed "Do you think it will be different here? I mean, do you think they will see different things because it's magical?"
"No, I suppose it doesn't." Emma said thoughtfully.

Chris had to think about where Cambridge was, then he remembered and said, "So you live pretty close by me then!"
"I don't think we'll see different things, but we will probably interpret them differently..." Then Chris grew curious about something, and he hoped Emma would know the answer, "Oh1 I just thought of something, do you know where we're supposed to go after the feast?"
"Yeah, me too." Emma replied quickly. Willow still looked slightly upset. Emma hoped it wasn't her fault. She wasn't angry or upset with Willow, on the contrary, she felt proud that Willow trusted her enough to tell her.

"Sure! I'll just grab my bag!" Willow grabbed her bag and smiled at her friend. "Right then, lead the way!"
OOC: I replied to your post in the common room so I guess I'll see you there! haha

"I'm not sure." she said truthfully. "Maybe we should head up to the common room and check there. I thought I heard some of the fifth years say the password was wrackspurt."

OOC: I'm going to be in the Common Room now, as a result I probably won't visit here this much

"I don't think I've seen her before," Tayla thought to herself. "A first year!"
Tayla approached the girl, stretched out her hand, and smiled. "Hi there. I'm Tayla Barnhill. Welcome to Hogwarts!"
Pixxi, who clearly had been in deep thoughts about her stupid brothers, jumped a little when the nice girl named Tayla approached her and held out her hand. "Oh, hi! Thanks," Pixxi replied while shaking Tayla's hand enthustiastically. "I'm Natalie, but everyone calls me Pixxi, so I guess you can call me that aswell." Pixxi beamed to the girl and the rest of the table, "I guess you're not a first year, are you? I wasn't really nervous about coming here, cause I have three brothers who all went to Hogwarts and two of them has been in Gryffindor and one in Ravenclaw. They told me how wonderful this place is, and it certainly is. So what are you?"
Pixxi hadn't even asked the question before realising how rude it sounded. "Oh no, I didn't mean it like that," she hastily said. "I meant to ask what kind of family you come from. I'm a pureblood myself. Both my parents went to Hogwarts aswell, but I have an uncle that went to another foreign school. We never really talk about him." It wasn't until she was out of breath that she realised that she had spoken too much again. She smiled awkwardly and shook her head "I'm sorry. I tend to speak until someone stops me. So... Uhm... Please stop me."
" Tayla" Willaim called back. " I am so happy to see you" William told Tayla. " How wasyour summer?" William asked Tayla.
"My summer was great thanks! Dad brought us to go horseback riding. It was so fun!" Tayla replied. "How was your summer?"

"It's all right," Tayla chuckled. She liked this girl. "I'm a second year. Nice to meet you, Pixxi," she replied. "I'm half-and-half. Mum's the witch. She studied here and was Gryffindor, too. Dad's the Muggle. We live in Canada 'cause Dad's Canadian, but Mum said she wanted me to go to Hogwarts. I'm glad I did. I love it here."

"Do you play Quidditch by any chance?"
" Good that your summer was great" William told Tayla." Horeback riding, very interesting" Willaim said to Tayla. " I have never rode a horse" William sort of sighed.." My summer was very busy." William smiled. " I went to Africa with Witsy and her parents to search out caves and coves , then she come to visit our, well my parents and my house" Willaim explained to Tayla.
Plumeria sat down at the gyrffindor table and she immediately began to pile lots of food onto her plate. She picked bacon, eggs, potatoes and many more wonderful and delicious-foods. She didn't realise how hungry she was until she could feel the food that she was tucking into descend down her throat. So she piled her plate with more food.
"I don't know why I'm this hungry," she thought. But she was just going to fill herself up before going to the library to study and to finish her history of magic essay on dragon breeding.

Pixxi stared at the girl in awe. She was actually a second year student! She probably knew all about the secret passages and how to sneak into the kitchen to get a snack after midnight. She decided that it probably wasn't the best way to make friends by asking them how to break the Hogwarts rules on the first day, so she nodded instead and smiled.
"Wow, Canada? That's so cool," she replied enthusiasticly. "I've always wanted to go there. And I do play Quidditch, but just with my brothers. They are really good, and because I am a girl they almost never let me catch the Quaffle and score points, even though I am somewhat good as a Chaser." She stared miserably into the table and thought about her dream of becoming a Quidditch player at Hogwarts. "How about you? Are you on the team?" she asked looking up at Tayla with large, hopeful eyes.

Malachy entered the great hall and began to stride in between the gryffindor and ravenclaw tables. He was gazing around the room, staring at all of the house tables, before he realised that a second year gryffindor had dropped her glass of pumpkin juice onto the floor. It's contents spilled out into the path of Malachy who unfortunately didn't notice. His right foot stepped onto the spillage before the second year could whip up a cleaning spell, and Malachy lunged forward into a young fair haired Gryffindor who was just finishing the last of the food on her plate. "Oh...god. I'm really sorry." he exclaimed, seeing if the girl was alright. "Someone spilled their drink on the floor and I slipped on it."

OOC: did I do good?
Plumeria was shocked as a boy of about her age with dark brown hair and blue-grey eyes fell into her lap. "Oh...god. I'm really sorry," he exclaimed looking as shocked as she was. "Someone spilled their drink on the floor and I slipped on it." The boy looked concerned, but he didn't move from out of Plumeria's lap. "Oh..." she began, relaxing slightly. "Oh...don't worry about it. I do things like that all of the time," she smiled at the boy. "Are you ok?"
The boy got up from off of her lap and sat on the bench next to her. "Yeah, I'm fine. I think." he cleared his throat slightly as he looked at his fingers.
"Oh ok," she said. "I'm plumeria by the way."

Malachy pushed himself out of the girls lap and sat beside her on the bench. He told the girl that he thought that he was feeling ok when she asked. Then she told him that her name was Plumeria. "Wow...that's a really unique name. Why did your parents name you that?" he asked her, studying her and trying to figure the petite girl out. First he let his eyes gaze upon the curly blonde locks, then her face and all the way down the her robes. The girl was actually stunningly attractive. In malachy's point of view anyway. He didn't know nor care about anyone else's. Just that he felt like he had to know every detail about this wonderful creature who he had been so honoured to stumble into.
