Eat, drink, and be merry, O Lions. Classes begin again tomorrow.

The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.

~~And what's this? The silverware is tarnished and askew, almost as if thrust on the table willy-nilly. Take a seat and search for a clean spoon while the Sorting Hat ceremony commences.~~ The House Elves have done their clean up work quickly and effectively, and the silverware and dishes are now set to right.

Emma's face fell. Both her mother and father were muggles. She had only just found out about the magical world. There was still so much she didn't know. Also, Emma had never been away from home for so long and she was really going to miss her family, but she didn't want to sound like a child.

Grabbing the carrots, Willow frowned slightly. "Hmm, not too hard I hope! I heard Potions was one of the hardest and Divination is weird but I guess we'll find our strengths soon enough! I can't wait till Care of Magical Creatures though! And Defence Against the Dark Arts sounds fun too!"
Seeing her friends face fall, she grabbed her hand and squeezed it lightly.
"We're here together, so whatever happens, we'll help each other through it, ok?!" she said, giving Emma a reassuring smile. "Now, pass the potatoes!"

Potions and divination? This definitely was going to be something else. Though she had to admit care of magical creatures sounded fun, she had always loved animals.

Looking up into Willow's dazzeling blue eyes, she felt her worries slip away and her smile return. What use was it to worry about it now? She would just have to see tomorrow. Hard work and talent had got her so far...

Laughing at Willows tacktful change of subject, she grabbed the potatoes and passed them to her.

"You know so much" Emma was trying to keep the awe out of her voice. "Is your family magical too?"

Really...if Adam never saw Joao and Louisa together that would be okay with him. The idea of them walking around the castle holding hands and laughing was just...too much.

"If it's not so much big of a deal both of you would've mentioned it." She insisted, staring down at the table stubbornly. If he wasn't looking at her then she would not look at him TOO. "I didn't say it was a big secret or anything. I just don't see how when I talked to you about Jwaw all this time, you already knew him and never mentioned that! It's just...not logical." She would've continued had he not looked at her with his eyes burning with anger and that made her stay still.

It hurt to..? A feeling of guilt banged her hard in the chest. She was so stupid! A stupid and clueless Ravenclaw! How did she forget all about this? How could she be so ignorant? Louisa swallowed, "I'm...sorry." When was she going to drop the selfish attitude and try to see situations from other people's perspective? "It's okay. We're not fighting." She smiled rather nervously at him and shifted in her place to listen to theh headmaster's speech. That would calm Adam down, Louisa didn't really mind him getting angry but she had enough experience to know that sometimes his anger hurt him- his hand is an evidence.

"Hey! I never said I was some tough Quidditch player! This summer should have definitely proved that..." he scoffed, crossing his arms. He winced at when she said he needed more guy friends. True, he hadn't made hardly any throughout his time at Hogwarts, but it wasn't like he tried not to. It was just a rather struggle for him after he'd lost the only friends he'd ever known. The Muggle world had been hard enough with them there to help them, and he'd found it to be difficult to become close to anyone else in fear that he'd loose them.

After an uncomfortable silence, he was snapped back to the feast by her Quidditch remark. "Erm, okay..... You aren't.... going to make the Quidditch team?" It wasn't really karma- what she was talking about- but he didn't really believe in, let alone understand, whatever superstition she was going on about. So the teenage boy just shrugged and took a bite of some treacle tart.

Jordan had heard alot of hype about DADA. As soon as he heard the news from the Daily Prophet, he felt so ecstatic, that he didn't care what happened that day. "Yeah, I'm looking forward to that class. As I'm sure the rest of the school is!" Jordan said, he didn't know what other kids had in mind, but he understood Defense Against The Dark Arts, was a very, favorable class to take. Who wouldn't wanna take DADA? 'Same here, I've heard the DADA teacher is amazing!' Rose said quickly. THIS WAS GOING TO BE EPIC! 'Oh, right, yeah, I'm planning to take DADA, History of Magic, Charms, Transfiguration, Flying, Potions, and maybe CoMC!' Rose recited, counting on her fingers each time. 'Oh, and Divination!' Rose grinned. Yes, Divination. She had to do ONE mad subject!

Christopher hated being a first year. He didn't have any friends at Hogwarts yet, and he doubted he would make any. He was too shy to talk to anybody, so he just sat quietly. Maybe I'll meet somebody in my classes, the thought made him smile a little.

"I'm so excited to try out for Quidditch! I'd love to be Keeper. What spot would you wanna have?" she asked Jordan. "And I don't know yet." Ronnie said wondering the same thing. Oh no! If she didn't know what classes she had, what was she gonna do? She'd probably talk to the Headmaster or some teacher. THey'd help her out.

Laughing at Willows tacktful change of subject, she grabbed the potatoes and passed them to her.

"You know so much" Emma was trying to keep the awe out of her voice. "Is your family magical too?"

"Yeah, both of 'em. I'm Pureblood." Willow replied, grabbing the potatoes off Emma. "And my older brother went here a few years ago so he told me quite a bit. He was in Slytherin though so I'm not sure what Gryffindors like really... It seems pretty good so far! You're in it!" she said, laughing once more. It was only the first night and she could tell that Emma and herself were going to be good friends!
