Adam gave a nod of the head. He felt bad that Louisa was in a point of her life where she felt like she needed her studies to distract her from everything else. He gave her an empathetic smile. "Well studying is definitely a better and more useful strategy to distract yourself than some other ones." Of course Adam found reading to be his escape from things too, so he couldn't really relate to people that used other kinds of distractions...

Adam followed Louisa's gaze as she pointed out the various Professors sitting at the table. Adam had to admit the headmaster did look a little grumpy, but he couldn't blame the guy. He probably would be grumpy too if he were in the same situation. Next was Professor Lafay who Adam definitely thought was a no nonsense kind of person. "She's looks like she's a no nonsense kind of person, but that can be good in a learning environment," Adam said, before moving his eyes to the next Professor that Louisa pointed out. He could definitely see how that woman would be a librarian...she definitely had an air about her that screamed "I enjoy being around books." "I guess I'll be seeing a lot of her then," Adam said with a little smirk. O.W.L. studying here he comes!

Adam smiled slightly when Louisa pointed her out as also being the star of the spirits...well, he was glad it hadn't stopped her from coming back to the school because he knew some professors that an incident like that would have made them flee from the place. After one last glance at Madam Donovan, Adam moved his gaze to Professor Hadley who Adam had to admit he thought was very attractive. "Numbers....not really my thing," Adam said with a little shake of the head. When Louisa pointed out the Herbology professor Adam gave Louisa a little smile. "She actually looks a lot like a Herbology professor I had at one of my schools back in the states. Although...that professor was a bit...well...a little too attached to the plants...kind of in an unhealthy way," Adam said with a little frown. Maybe Professor Bentley would be different.

And last but not least Adam looked at the Muggle Studies Professor...she looked nice enough. "I've actually never taken a Muggle Studies class before," Adam said with a little shrug of the shoulders. "It seemed kind of...unfair given the circumstances." Seeing as Adam had to pretend that he was a muggle pretty much every time he was home he knew first hand what it mean to be a muggle living in a muggle world.

"They seem harmless enough," Adam said with a little smile before shifting his glance to his newly cleaned goblet. He took another swig of his water, realizing that it tasted much better than the sip he had taken from his other goblet.

A boy about his age joined him and Kurumi as she helped him look for Professor Scorgify, who it seemed knew how to get these dishes cleaned like they should. But then the boy pointed his wand at one of the plates and it was cleaned after he said the spell.

"Oh. That's embarrassing." August said looking at the older Gryffindor girl who had then decided to help teach him the spell. "So I just point my wand at the plate and say the spell?" he pulled out his wand a bit awkwardly and then pointed it mumbling the spell and he watched as the dirt and grime was wiped clean off the surface. "Wow that's neat!" he said grinning brightly. August had just performed his first bit of intentional magic! When she said she hadn't known much when she got their either he grinned even bigger, she seemed to know alot now.

August had barely finished cleaning the plate that Kurumi was holding for him to try the spell on when another girl showed up at their table. She wasn't a Gryffindor but a Slytheirn, just like Sierra from Flourish and Blotts. Maybe she knew her!

"Yeah the silverware is dirty all over the palce, apparently. But you can use this plate that I just cleaned if you like." Yeah wanted to be nice, she wasn't bad looking to say the least. "I'm August Goldstein, Gryffindor third year."
Suddenly all Hell broke lose.

He leaned over to the new girl who arrived and whispered to her as he stared at the creature that was walking all over the table and picking up the dirty things. "Is that a House Elf?" Why was it freaking out so much, who was it talking to? WHAT. WAS. IT. DOING?!

"Oh my gosh it's hurting itself!" August began to look around in order to find someone to help this....creature and then noticed the Slytherin girl laughing and then ordering the Elf around. She was a maniac!! "Hey! That's not very nice. She's not your maid!" he said angrily. August was never raised to talk to anything that way.
"Oh that would be great I would love to go see one!" Ausgust said nodding at Nessie as she agreed to possibly take him to the kitchens to see them one day. No doubt they would have nice food to eat down there too.

Then she too was laughing at his small mistake of thinking a spell was the surname of a professor. It was an honest mistake afterall, he was a muggleborn. "Hey that's not funny." he said chuckling a bit himself and laughing with his new friend. He watched as she too began to prepare herself to do the cleaning spell when then a house elf showed up.

He didn't want to see them anymore. Simple as that, they scared him.

August was frozen in shock, mostly fear, as the House Elf began to beat itself with the goblets but he nearly lost all sense of consciousness when it POKED ITSELF IN THE EYE! This was horrible, he wanted to go home!

Then a bang behind him brought his attention away from the sad scene infront of him and he saw his newly aquatined friend, Kurumi was down, having passed out. "Oh my god! Kurumi are you ok?" he said dropping his his knees and picking her head off the floor and holding it in his hand and fanning her with his other.

August looked around awkwardly to see if anyone else seemed to have noticed the fainting girl, she was small, and then asked for help. "Ummm anyone who can help her?"

Ronnie watched as Jordan walked in. She grinned. Jordan was one of her best mates at Hogwarts! "Hey, Jordan!" Ronnie said excitedly pulling him into a hug. "Just a few are sitting here. My younger sister here and Rose. I dunno if anyone else is!" Ronnie said looking around and spotting fellow Gryffindors she didn't know well.

Josephine smiled "I want to try flying and DADA" she said happily "In my second year I wanna try out as seeker on the team, will you try out too?" she asked.

Sage nodded, it was a good idea because she wasn't sure if she would be agble to play attention through out Ella explination of Muggle sweats.

"This is going to be my first night away from my parents," Sage told Ella, not caring if it was odd comment becasue right now she wasn't totally thinking through everything she was saying...

"Professor Lafay likes discipline. A lot." She said watching the professor chastising three of her house students. Taking some points too, probably. Louisa wasn't that close to hear very well. "She's not biased toward her house students, though. That makes her fair enough." Unlike Professor Vee who- Oh! Right! She forgot to introduce her own head of house. But...where was he? Taking another look she frowned, "Where is Professor Vee? He's our Head of House.[/b]" She informed Adam. "Well he used to be. Yours is Madam Donovan. Again she used to be. I don't think there's posts changing." She shrugged her shoulders.

"I haven't seen Jwaw around, yet. Have you seen him?" She asked absently looking around careful not to glance toward her house table in case the 'he & she' looked her way. "Oh, right. You don't know how he looks like." She chuckled, "Silly me." She turned to look at Adam again and spoke, "JB is with the others pets, right?" She wanted to play with the dog now. She was hungry and bored. "I wish we could sneak him in." That was a bad idea, of course, considering how happy and loud the dog was. But a girl could wish.

"Yah" nodded Emily, "I have a big brother who works for the ministry. He's called Frankie. He can be sooooo mean to me sometimes, but mostly he is just overprotective."

Emily took a mouthful of bread. "That's so cute that you have a little bro and sis. Tiny people are so adorable."

"Delicious! Everything is just so bloody delicious!" she exclaimed, wiping her mouth with a napkin and taking a sip of water. "I know what you mean. I still can't really believe this is all happening. I'm just sitting here, thinking about all my muggle friends at home who are about to have maths and science lessons and stuff. We're so lucky really.."

It was like a bloody mirror! Emily went and sat with Tiffany, wondering if others were thinking what they were thinking.

"I hope we have lessons together.. Then we can really confuse the teachers," she said, grinning. "Not that I'm planning to misbehave," she added, "just, you know, have some fun from time to time... Gosh, it's like we're twins or something. Don't tell me you're muggleborn.. are you?"

Tori didn't either, but she wasn't about to reveal that. "I'm telling ya, Hogwarts is in T-R-O-U-B-L-E....." Tututut. And look at her, spelling like a regular old genius! Heh!

"Well good," Tori shot back, still wearing a playful smile on her lips. "Because I really didn't want to eliminate you from the boyfriend competition and all." He was just too adorable and good at kissing to be in her bad books.

She nodded at the question. "Same as you! I'm about ready for this feast to end so I can get back to my nice, cozy bed. Not to mention, I hear they have lots of towers and secret passages and stuff I wanna find." Hmm, that gave her an idea. "Wanna go exploring with me like tomorrow?"

Yah, lemonade and cookies! What a great combo, eh? "Want a cookie? They're waaaaaaarm," Tori added, waving a gooey chocolate chip one near (as near as she could get) to his nose.

Victoria turned her head then as somebody finally responded to her question from earlier. "Yeah, sure, thanks!" she accepted the plate with a tiny smile and gave the guy a wave. "Victoria Bunbury, Slytherin third year, but please, call me Princess Tori." Or just Princess would do.

She STARED at August when he started freaking out more than the House Elf who had just left. "It's okay, August, geez!" Tori rolled her eyes and held out one of the cookies to calm him. "Yeah, that was a House Elf, and look, if you give them something to do to distract themselves, they won't punish themselves. And we get warm cookies! Win-win, see?"

She was pretty sure no one at her REAL table would have objected to Quirly's cookies. Hmmph.

Adam shifted his glance towards Professor Lafay who had moved from her spot at the head table and was chastising a couple of Louisa's fellow Ravenclaws...well...at least she wasn't biased. "I take it she's the head of Slytherin?" Adam asked. When Louisa said Madam Donovan was his head of house he couldn't stop his eyebrows from going up. "I would have thought as a Librarian that would automatically make her the head of Ravenclaw...always." After all Ravenclaws were studious and the house of wisdom, so that was logical to think, right?

When Louisa mentioned Joao Adam couldn't help but flinch slightly. "Actually...I might have an idea..." Adam mumbled before quickly shoving the goblet up to his mouth. He figured Louisa was going to find out that they had met eventually, and he figured he might as well break the bullet now instead of later. Quickly jumping on the topic change of JB Adam gave a little nod.

"Yeah, he is with the other pets," Adam said with a little nod. "He seemed kind of nervous, and I had a hard time convincing him that he'd be alright, but eventually he went over and stayed with the other pets. I think he'll feel better once we are both up in the common room together." He was sad to leave JB alone like that...especially on the first night when everything was new to both of them.

"Yeah, thanks mate." Ronnie said smiling at him. "Well of course I'll go swimming with you! That'd be very fun!" she said. "So how are you doing?" she asked

" Yes it all is. I am thinking of the fact that not everyone gets to ride a train to school all day and stay in a castle with such a view." Ivan said thinking of all the things that he got to do this new school year all ready and the classes have yet to start.

Princess? August narrowed his eyes, thinking to himself, trying to decide if he would actually call this girl Princess. Out of the two Slytherins he had met so far, a common characteristic of them both had been commanding and powerful personalities. He hoped it wasn't a common thing for all the snakes. He hadn't met any Puffs of fellow Gryffindors that sounded like that.

"....ummm ok." August continued to stare at the creature and then back to Princess. Slowly taking the cookie from her hand he took small bite and then thanked her. "Thanks, Princess. Yeah sorry for my...freak out. It's just the first time I've ever seen a House elf before." Yep he was a Muggleborn but odds are this girl wasn't.

Auggie had yet to meet one here so far.

"That's all right," Tori said soothingly, mostly because the boy had called her Princess. She was quite all right with that. "I'm assuming you're Muggleborn? Oh WOW." She almost beamed at him. "I don't think I've ever met a Muggleborn before!"

Tori had yet to meet one here so far. Or, as far as she knew anyway. Clearly all Princesses were purebloods.

Sage giggled, she could relate to over protective big brothers.

"Well, they're not always cute, sometimes they can be a real pain! I've lost track of how many times they've performed accidental magic that includes me being injured!" Sage said, remembering all the time Lance or Iris have done some sort of accidental magic.

" Ok, I think you say you aare not smart and I will find out yo uhave more points than me at the end of the term" William told Ivan." All our housemates are good at doing homework and palying Quidditch" William said to Ivan." You are really brave or else, I have to put this delicately( William thought to himself), the sorting hat may have selected you for another house other than Gryffindor" William explained to Ivan.
OOC_ I am great at English, but I do not type very well. Typing has never been my forte.

" You are welcome" William told Ronnie." I knew you would go swimming with me" William said to Ronnie. " I am doing great " Wiliam smiled. " Ready for classes?" William asked Ronnie.

Jordan grinned, "I might, but I'm more of a beater to be honest." He puffed out his chest to look all tough, "harry potter was seeker, wasn't he?"

Ronnie smiled. "That's good to hear. I am very ready for SOME of my classes." she said. "Not anything like Divination......or all the boring subjects." she said smiling. "As you can see, I'm nothing like my grandma Hermione Granger.." she said with a laugh.

"I am smart and brave enough this is all just very new and I dont know how I will fair at all of this. I do hope you are right though William." Ivan knew that the hat must have good judgement. "So do you know if we are going to learn how to fly?"

"I don't know. The Librarian was Head of Gryffindor for the three years I've been at Hogwarts. The Flying professor was our Head of House as long as I was here, too. Professor Lafay was Head of Slytherin and the nurse was Head of Hufflepuff, I guess." She said thoughtfully before being snapped back to reality when he mumbled the next words out.

"What? What's that supposed to mean? Might have an idea? You either know a person or not." She raised her eyebrows at him. Louisa was surprised that he hadn't told her before about knowing Joao. She mentioned the Slytherin boy almost every time they talked...why? She needed an explanation now.

Even JB's topic wasn't very appealing after that piece of information. Actually she felt that Adam used it as a distraction but nooo, she wasn't going to let that slip. "Yeah. He'll be alright. He'll meet some other dogs or run after some Kneazles. Answer my question, Adam. Have you met Joao or not?" Yes, please and why hadn't you told her before. Thank you.

" Ok, some of yoru classes are good" Wiliam told Ronnie. "Would your grandmother approve of you not going to all the classes?" William asked Ronnie. " I am just worried if you have this attitude about classes and Ivan has this attutidue about classes, then we can not ever win the house cup at all" William said to Ronnie. " I do not think our head of household and our prefects are going to cater to the idea of not helping Gryffindor compltely in thir tasks to win the house cup and the Quidditch cup" William explained to Ronnie. William just started to eat his staeka, baked potato, string beanns and a slice of apple pie with a sad look on his face,

Josephine looked at the shy boy and smiled at him "Hi! I'm Josephine, this is my brother, Joseph" she gestured at her twin, who was sitting next to her "Are you excited for Hogwarts?"[/QUOTE]

"Hi Josehpine, I'm Aaron. I'm excited to be at hogwarts, but a little nervous." He replied to the girl. "How about you two?"

Again Adam was regretting that he hadn't thought before he spoke. Really there was no reason for Louisa to know...what were the odds that the three of them would have a conversation together? Well...if they were going to start dating than if Adam wanted to hang out with Louisa then he was going to have to learn how to hang out with Joao. Adam set his goblet down and let out a little sigh.

"It happened unintentionally...I was taking a breather on the same bench that he happened to be sitting on. We chatted for a little, but that was all," Adam said with a shrug. He didn't need her to know about the other part of their conversation, since well, Adam was willing to forget about that whole thing if Joao was. Of course, he hadn't seen Joao since to know if he'd be willing to, but Adam was planning on it. After all, as far as Adam was concerned Louisa was off the list of available people, and Adam was officially on the list of remaining single.

Adam could tell that Louisa wanted to know why he hadn't mentioned this sooner, but really, Adam didn't want to tell her and he wasn't going to. "I believe I saw him get sorted into Slytherin if you wanted to go and talk to him." The last words hadn't taken a nasty tone, but they definitely came out shut off. Adam picked up his goblet again and took another sip, keeping his eyes on the wall in front of him.

Rafe didn't even notice when he took a seat that she was actually practically surrounded with Gryffindor boys. It was that magnetism. There's something about Slytherin boys being immediately drawn to Slytherin girls. Was it the whole "opposites attract?" Hmm...Rafe didn't exactly know and figured it was more than that, but found it funny that Caroline was just another example of the theory right in front of him. "Thank you." He was glad that she was comfortable enough to let a stranger sit across from her. Though technically it was his table, but if felt a bit overcrowded this year with firstie after firstie.

"Really? Vacation? Shouldn't they be working to prep everything for the summer?" Rafe was disgusted. "I mean if the silverware is bad can you imagine what the rest of Hogwarts is going on. If my elves left, they would be getting clothes. I mean, I get the whole revolution of House Elves that started decades ago with Hermione Granger, but some of them I think really like to do it. My elves have great living conditions, food and we have a rotating system so they can have time off. But, seriously if this was the state my silverware was in, someone would be getting some clothes!" Rafe didn't know if that sounded completely pompous. And perhaps he was a bit old fashioned. But, it's not like he would behead them or anything. Just hire them for service, and the payment was good living conditions and good food. He knew there were elves out there that were in much worse condition. "I've got a lot of respect for House Elves. I mean, I'm not the cleanest person and they always seem to helpful. Klepardink is my favorite elf I have back home. He helps me understand his magic and I let him understand mine. He's even played with my wand, it's so cute! Set a curtain on fire once!" Rafe chuckled at the memory.

Anyways...now it was time for a change of subject before sounding too sentimental about his favorite House Elf. "Oh wow a Healer, that's incredibly respectable. You must be incredibly gifted." He grinned. He knew some basic stuff, well he had to, given he lived a dangerous life. But, he wasn't great at it, but always very grateful to those who did. "Are you planning on working full time with the Sunrays or looking for something local, like St. Mungo's?" He was also curious as to what her specialty would be. Or maybe she would know everything and be a very well rounded healer. There weren't certainly always uses for Healers in Eastern Europe, that's where all the "wildlife" got a little more intense. From werewolves to dragons to vamps, there certainly were a fair share of dangers in his neck of the woods. "If you ever need a job, I bet I could pull a few strings, my father has some really good connections, though the Healers out where I live have to be prepared for the worst kind of injuries. But, if you stay in Africa, that would be amazing too! I've always wanted to go and meet a witch doctor!"

"Kita? Hmm...name doesn't ring a bell. I find I've kept my little circle of friends rather small over the years, but I'm hoping to expand it this year." Rafe flashed her another wide grin. "But, wow, you went to California too. How was it being with Americans? I hear their a different species of their own across the pond." He chuckled. "I've stayed mostly in Europe my whole life, but I'm hoping after I graduate to be able to see a little bit more of the world." Then she spoke of reuniting with her grandparents for the first time. "Isn't it amazing the feeling you get when you reunite with family? I mean, there's not always the best connections all the time, but even then it gives you sense of knowing where you belong and where you come from a bit more."

Rafe noticed she laughed at his comment about Marilyn. Clearly, there was a lot of tension between the two. But, what girl didn't have tension with Marilyn? "Have you always known you were related to her?" He didn't know if she would understand the question exactly. Or maybe Caroline would assume Marilyn told him. But, Rafe kind of figured it out by their similarities in scent.
