"Yes I suppose." Plumeria answered, looking disappointed. "But maybe I can do something to make myself stand out like Harry did to get on the team. But I suppose I can wait until next year," and she forced herself to smile, and resumed in shoveling food down her mouth. "And I want to make a few friends before I do anything ecentric, if you get my drift?"

Ronnie smiled weakly. Then Ronnie thought deeply. "Maybe sis, maybe. That'd be wicked if you did! You'd be one of the youngest quidditch players in like what....a ton of years?" she asked. "And I know how you feel. I hated the fact that we couldn't play quidditch in our first year....very stupid, I think so. But, next year I know you'll make the team! You're brilliant!" Ronnie said.

Emily smiled at him as they spoke. It was nice to meet the new first years who were so excited to be here at Hogwarts. "Well I love to read. My ambition is to try to read the whole Hogwarts library before I leave." she laughed. A tuff goal, but she had a feeling she could manage. "Um, not really. But my sister is, so I know a lot about it and I like to watch it. What quidditch team do you support?" she asked, still wondering why all the spoons were dirty.

"Oh really, well I was brought up in the muggle world but my mom showed me how to cross over into the wizarding world. I am very used to muggle stuff and was taught at a very early age to control my emotions when I am around company at home. And I totally know what a bike-cycle is. It is a divice with two wheels a frame, handle bars, and a seat. I learned how to ride one when I was 4 and sometimes ride my bike up to the border of Diagon Alley. My mom always told me never to bring muggle stuff into the wizarding world. And as for you getting to see the muggle world perhaps you can see my place next summer, it's a nice little neighborhood that is a little place and I can introduce you to some of my muggle freinds who think I am going currently going to boarding school which is not a complete lie.".

"I support the Chudley Cannons but I have always found it way more fun to play quiddich than watch it. As for your reading ambition, "that is a rather interesting goal. I am not much of a reader myself though I would like to read more, it just takes me forever to do it. And who is your sister?".

Carter chuckled. "I'm just having a few girl problems." he said. "I doubt you're very interested in that."

August? Wasn't it September?

Then Carter realized that the boy was saying his name.

"I'm Carter Phillips." he said introducing himself. "Welcome to Gryffindor."

He looked down at the silverware again. "Really?" he asked. "I didn't know that they could do that." Not that he knew much about house elves anyway. He'd only ever seen the Hogwarts house elves.

"Cool." Said Plumeria, finishing what was on her plate and filling it up with more unrecognisable but tasty looking meat. "So, shall we go to the gryffindor common room after we've finished eating?" She asked Ronnie. Plumeria's plum-coloured eyes narrowed as she took out the slimy mushroom out of her mouth and put it on the side of her plate. "I should have recognised a mushroom when I see one. I've never liked them much." she stared down at it in disgust, lifting her glass of pumpkin juice and gulping a quarter of it down to try and get rid of the taste.

"Wow! I'm going to ask my dad about that Bike-cycle! That would be really cool to come to your house! I've almost never left my hometown..." Sage said, becoming more and more comfortable with Nathan through out their conversation, "So are you an only child or do hav other siblings?"

The boy was definitely new to the school if he didn't know about the elves. Every student knew about the elves and most students knew about the kitchens too. The kitchen was one of Nessie's favorite places. She always used to grab something to nibble on before she headed to the common room every night but tonight she wasn't sure she'd be able to get something especially if the elves were really away. "Yeah elves do work here..they keep the place clean and they make sure we get fed." She said telling him about the elves"but tonight I don't know what happened." If he was a newbie she didn't want him to get a bad impression.

Muggle school..the thought of muggle schools didn't bring many good memories for Ness. She used to go to a muggle school herself when she was younger. Her parents made her go to one even though they knew about magic way before she was born. She didn't fit in too well with muggles it just wasn't her thing."Nice to meet you too August" she said smiling as she shook his hand back."I used to go to a muggle school too but that was quite a while ago." She wasn't too surprised he was a third year he did look older."So you happy with the house you got?" She asked. She gussed he was in Griffindor because he was after all sitting at the Griffindor table.

Adrianna looked over to see an older boy fidgeting with his robes. Then, as he looked at his silverware, his expression looked perplexed and disgusted at the same time. She couldn't help it, she giggled. She lifted a hand to smother it, but it only succeeded in making her laugh more. Finally, when she got a hold of herself, she took a breath and looked over at him.

"Are you okay? Is something wrong?" she asked him, wondering what had made him make such a strange face.

Adrianna looked away from the ceiling and over to a boy. She gave him a smile as he said that he was a first year- same year as her! "Hi!" she said with a warm smile. "I'm Adrianna, I'm a Gryffindor first year as well," she told him. Finally, someone her own age!

Adrianna jumped as a voice interrupted her thought about the ceiling. "The ceiling... it's fantastic!" she told the older boy with a smile. She looked down, slightly embarrassed that he had been able to tell that so easily. "That obvious, huh?" she said, managing a small smile. "Adrianna," she told him with a warm smile. "Nice to meet you William. I know! I can't wait to try all of it!" she said, looking over at the food. "What do you recommend?"

"Why do you think so? I love to climb in the souls of men, another thing, when they do not want to share it." She smiled and sighed. "In any case, I behaved without tact forgot to introduce myself. My name is Anna Phoenix. And You?"

Emily swallowed her mouthful of chicken and beamed at the boy. "Hey," she said with a friendly wave, "really nice to meet you too! Oh my goodness, isn't this just the most amazing place??"

She stared around the room in awe, gasping with delight at the enchanted ceiling. "In my muggle school, the ceiling was made of cheap cardboard and looked like grey toilet paper pressed into tiles. This place is just incredible!"

"Hiiiiii!" Emily replied, before stuffing some salad into her mouth.

Carter chuckled. "Well, you'd be the first person I've ever met that enjoys doing that."

He smiled. "Well, if you really want to hear it... I just found out that my ex wants to get back together... at least, she did, I'm not sure if she still does... anyway, I'm pretty sure it's something that she didn't want me to find out." he said letting out a sigh. "And things just started to feel normal again between us."

"Carter. Carter Phillips." he said introducing himself.

Yeah... someone saw that. Carter knew someone would.

"I've been fiddling with my badge all day... I kind of forgot it wasn't there anymore..." he explained. "I'm the new Quidditch Captain." he clarified. He might as well get used to saying that.

Cove skipped into the great hall abd took a seat looking around to see if she saw anyone she knew. There was Emily, but she was talking to others. Cove looked to see if Dani was around the table. Cove was tired and hungry and her glasses were too loose. Where was Dani when you needed her?

"Nathan chuckled, "It can be a bit tricky of a divice cause you gotta have good balance once you learn to ride one it is said will never forget it. And you have really never left your hometown, then this must be quite a treat for you. And we will also be able to go to Hogsmeade which should be really fun. So what sort of things are you into. I absolutely love quiddich and gobstones and just aabout all the cool muggle sports, futbol, basketball, baseball, have you heard of them?

"I know what you mean, I went to a muggle school before Hogwarts too and found myself in the principles office more often then the classroom ot seemed. I got in trouble for some of the most bizarre things. Some things I planned and diserved but my pre-mature magic was the culprit more often then not but I always managed to skew things that I was just a trouble making boy. Anyway, enough with that. What about you. How was muggle school for you what do you like to do and I don't think you have told me what you're name is yet, "I'm Nathan".
"Nice to meet you Adriana, the ceiling really is amazing isn't it" Nathan said finding his eyes wandering up there again. And then he snapped out of it and looked at her again. "So, what do you like to do? I am a big sports finatic myself, muggle and wizarding alike though my favorite sport of all time is quiddich.".

Paulie took a sip of his apple juice as Adam turned to say something or other to Kurumi. The boy casually looked up from his glass and scanned over the rest of the table to see his new housemates.

THE KNOCKOUT! The knockout was in his house. A wide smile spread across his face, and he opened his mouth to greet his friend. "Hey - Brooke!" Only now did he notice that she was clenching onto her fork and staring at.. the ceiling? Odd. But he didn't care, she was his housemate! "You got Gryffindor, huh? Good deal!"

Emily laughed a little. "I like the Holyhead Harpies. And I probably would play it but I'm terrible at flying! Carn't even get a few feet." And she hated not being able to do something! "I read all the time. I love to read anything and everything. Pratically live in the library!" she smiled, but that was no joke. "Oh my sister's left Hogwarts now. She's an auror in training at the Ministry of Magic at the moment."

Adrianna's expression softened and she wished that there was something she could say to make him not feel awkward about the situation. She typically saw things that others missed, she had to make sure to figure out what was best to mention and best not to... but that was something for anotehr time.

"Oh no! Did you lose it?" she asked him, not really knowing the significance of badges, but obviously it had to be something important. Then, he continued and it made a bit more sense. She had only seen Quidditch once, and her mother had explained it so she knew the basics of it. And it looked quiet difficult to her. "Wow, really?" she asked him, her eyes wide. "Congratulations! Are you excited?" she asked him, propping her chin on her hands as she waited for his answer.

Brooklyn stared as the birds flew around, not paying attention to the rest of the children as that were sorted because she had more important things on her mind right now. Like.. how the birds could attack her and she could DIE. See? More important things were on the girls mind than the younger students who were unaware of the danger above.

The only thing that snapped her out of her current state of fear was the call of her name. Her head whipped toward the voice, noticing the familiar face. All thoughts of birds aside, the blond beamed. It was Paulie. PAULIE. "Paulie!" She said excitedly, loosening her grip on the fork for a moment before getting up to side beside him. "You're in Gryffindor too?" BEAM. That was kind of a stupid question, but she really didn't care right now.

"Oh, no. My friend -- she likes shiny things -- is wearing it." Carter explained. Although, now that he thought about it, that was probably one of the stupidest decisions he'd ever made.

He should have just let her choke him rather than give it up.

"Yeah. I am. I just haven't really gotten used to it yet."

"Quite a complicated situation." Anne lowered her eyes. "In any case it is better not to rely on only on the senses. I must weigh all of the positive and negative arguments before taking a decision. Love is quite a complex thing, incomprehensible and confusing." She again smiled and brushed a strand of her straw-colored hair. "Carter Phillips? You the team captain of the Quidditch?"

"Oh your a seventh year, that must be exciting this being your final year and all. It's nice to meet you Carter, you must know so musch about this place. "What is you're favorite memory of Hogwarts". He wanted to learn a bit more about the school and get a 7th years perspective of Hogwarts, whats wrong with that.

Louisa had literally jumped off the bench once the sorting was over and started walking spyishly through the students. First, she was sure to keep a blind eye on her house's table in case... 'the he & she' were around. Second, she had to find an empty seat somewhere els-

Okay, scratch that. Adam's back was staring right at her and she made a run for it, ignoring the fact that he was already seated around some students and slammed into his back her hands on his shoulder as she craned her neck forward, "YOU'RE A GRYFFINDOR!" You know, pointing out the obvious and being too happy to hide her reluctance at the 'other issue' that was invading her mind.

Without a permission, she crammed herself between him and another student and sat down. Hopefully that person wouldn't do a fuss about it, it wasn't like she needed that much of space anyways. "Although I preferred Ravenclaw. It's fine. You look great in red and gold." She giggled and shook her head at her silliness.

Staring at the usual wooden table, usual sets of food tools that were...

O__o Huh? Why did Gryffindors have rusty tools? Her laugh was stopped abruptly as she examined a spoon, "Why do they give you rusty spoons and forks?" She hadn't sat at their table yet but she was sure they had clean and neat ones every year. If she was free to go and check out on their own spoons and stuff, she would've gotten up and done that but... the he & she were probably around and Louisa was determined to keep her mood alive and good.

Sage listened intnetly as Nathan explained how to use a bike-cycle.

"Oh yes, I'm really excited for Hogsmede, my brother used to bring back candy when he went to Hogwrts for me and my younger siblings! It was delicious!" Sage said remembering the yummy candy she still had hidden inside her pillow back home, "I absolutly love Quidditch, best sport in the world! I've also seen a bit of futbol when I went to visit my Grandad, but I've never heard of those other sports. I also like playing Exploding Snap, but Wizard Chess gets a little boring for me."

Sage giggled.

"Hungry?" Sage asked handing Emily a napkin, " It's very good food. So, are you Muggleborn?"

"Oh Emily! It's good to see you again. We met on the train remember? How are you doing?" Ella said upon noticing that Emily had joined the table.

"Yeah, what about you? Oh I play quite a lot, my favourite is netball." Ella said not sure if he will actually know what netball is.

"Oh man, muggle school was the same for me! Always in trouble. It was okay though cuz my parents were on my side. My brother turned out to be a wizard too you see, so they had suspicions that all the havoc I was causing as school might have something to do with magic.. I have to say though, since I felt the teachers punished me unfairly, I did turn against the teachers a bit, and sometimes I just gave them a bit of grief because I knew they didn't like me anyway."

Munching on a jacket potato, she smiled at the boy, glad to have someone from a muggle background as well. "Thank heavens we're here now though, right? Muggle school just seemed so slow!"

She carried on eating for a while, then suddenly remembered: "Oh sorry! I'm Emily by the way.."

Finishing her mouthful before replying, she nodded to the girl, taking the napkin with an appreciative smile. "Yes, it is! I can't remember when I last ate so much," she replied, helping herself to some baked beans.

"Yes I am muggleborn, but my brother is a wizard too, so the whole wizarding thing didn't come as much of a surprise. What about you?"

"Oh hey!" said Emily, waving enthusiastically, "I didn't see you there. How are you doing?"
