| | Gryffindor Girls' Dormitories Gryffindor Girls' Dormitories
In the Gryffindor common room, you'll find two doors that open to spiral staircases. These staircases lead the dormitories for both boys and girls. Be sure that you proceed to the correct dormitory, though. There are strict house rules that prevent boys from entering the girls' dormitory and girls from entering the boys' dormitory. As a matter of fact, the stairs that lead to the girls' dormitory have been charmed to turn into a slide shall any boy attempt to climb them.
To be on the safe side, remember that boys' dormitories are upstairs and to the right, while girls' dormitories are upstairs and to the left. |

Of course, she knew Adam was the reason why her best friend joined the team; however, over time, Selina felt at least, that Quidditch became their thing. Selina was the youngest player on the team. She always had been and so there was a disconnect with the older players. She was the baby. So with Kurumi on the team she had a place, a friend. Now things had changed and she felt part of the team, but Kurumi's presence had been the catalyst to her change. Without Kurumi would everything revert back to the way things were? She hoped not... she needed Kurumi. It was selfish, yes, but they were each other's wing men, in a way.
Her blue eyes met violet and she said, "I know that Kurumi. You think I know you can't bend in every which way? You aren't a magician... well you are but those are details, OH IGNORE THE PHRASE." She sighed, this was not coming out right at all, "Look, I know why you joined in the first place. Everyone knew and it started out like that. You know, you trying to keep Adam alive here. Time passed though and Quidditch became our thing. Without you I'm afraid I'm gonna lose something special I had in the sport- you."
She felt so foolish for saying all of these things. Selina loved Quidditch and would always love Quidditch. One person could not change her out look on the sport, but playing without Kurumi would really change the way she played. She was used to the girl sharing the Pitch with her. "I just can't believe you would quit, Rumi. It doesn't seem like you at all. Why are you so afraid of it now? Because you failed? Kurumi... I know this is hard for you to grasp, but people fail. I know you don't, but it happens. That should make you want to fight harder... not give up." Kurumi sort of gawked at Selina after the third year had finished, not expecting those words to come out of her best friends mouth. Kurumi had never once thought of Quidditch as being their thing. In her mind, it had always been Selina's and she was just tagging along for the ride. Flying wasn't her strength, neither were Ancient Runes...but that was an entirely different matter, and Kurumi had been lucky to have survived her first season without a disaster. " I...never knew that you thought of Quidditch as our thing...besides, you have Gideon on the pitch now. Why would you need me?" He was a better flyer than her, at least during matches. For some reason Kurumi did well in practice sessions, perhaps because of the familiarity of her teammates, but when it came to matches she fell flat. The team didn't need someone like that. They needed someone reliable.
" Giving up and realizing your limitations are two entirely different things, Selina," Kurumi said, her voice still steady. " I've never stopped being afraid. Before every match I broke out in rashes and scratched. Hair changed color a few times too, but I was able to compose myself a bit." Selina's comment about failure sort of hit her the wrong way. Kurumi knew that people failed. She had been a failure herself many times socially and in other parts of her life which is why she put so much effort into her studies, to make up for those failures. " And this might be hard for you to grasp, Selina, but some people just do not get the same joy out of Quidditch that you do." Kurumi coughed a few more times after saying that, and she had to cover her mouth for a little bit so as not to spew grossness into the air. " It's been fun, and I am glad that I've played...but it's time for me to step aside and let better lions onto the pitch. I'll still come to all the matches and cheer the team on of course."

Selina crossed her arms and threw her hair up into a pony tail. This was not something she wanted to talk about. It was all a tad too much for Selina. So much was changing so quickly. Everyone was getting older and every aspect of her life was shifting. The once mostly care free person she was had been limited by the prospects of being older. She had to take on responsibility. There were new types of relationships that she was stepping into that she had never stepped into before. A lot was different now. But the one thing that had always been constant for her was Quidditch. And Kurumi had been a part of that consistency. Now she was leaving. So many changes.
From Selina's sitting position on her bed she smacked her thighs lightly and stood up, "Alright then. Fine. I can't make you do anything you don't wanna do. Never have been able to do that with you. So you have fun with OWLs and all of that jazz. But maybe you shouldn't come to the games if I make the team next year. You know, you do have a lot of stuff you have to do and all that jazz..."
Selina leaned over to her bedside table and grabbed her goggles for the pitch, "I'll see you later." Maybe Gideon was right. Maybe when the going gets tough Selina got going...

Cove walked into the dorm and dragged her trunk out from underneith her bed. She had to find it! It had to be in the dorm somewhere, it wasn't anywhere else she had been today! "It has to be here!" She exclaimed to herself. She looked all around the her bed, but she didn't want to be creeperish looking all around the dorm for her necklace. "It's gone." She whispered to herself.

Selina had certainly been one for the dramatics this term, and right now was no exception. Kurumi tried to push herself up off the bed a bit, but her weak limbs prevented her from really moving all that much. Kurumi wasn't one to get sick, so when she did...she really got sick. Still, she somehow managed to reached her arm out far enough to grab the edge of Selina's robes before she got away.
" Why would you say something like that?" Kurumi asked, hurt clearly in her violet eyes. " Selina...this hasn't been easy on me. I would like to help the team, but if I can't put my full effort into Quidditch wouldn't that be letting the team down more? I can't do things half-heartily, you know that. I would be doing a disservice to you and the team."
Kurumi found a bit more strength now and pushed herself up so that she was sitting up now. " Why are you so upset about this?"

Kurumi found a bit more strength now and pushed herself up so that she was sitting up now. "Why are you so upset about this?" "Because its our thing, Quidditch. It's been our thing for two terms now. I don't like when things change. Alright? I don't like at all.". She stepped back and looked at Kurumi. Perhaps she was being a tad dramatic, but Selina was a creature of consistency. She liked to keep things in their little box and never let them run away with themselves. She was who she was, there were constants. For example, Selina could not sing, that never changed, Selina was awful at potions, that beverages changed, Selina was fiery and opinionated, that never changed, Selina was a seer, and as much as she wanted to change it... That never changed. So when things changed it ruffled her feathers. And now as she got older a lot of things were changing. People, situations, friends...
Part of the reason she hated to be serious at any given moment was that serious conversation tended to lead to change. Wasn't that why she avoided Gideon when he tried to bring up the issue of their relationship before they had gotten together? Wasn't that why she pretended Danny dis not exist most days? She was always running from change. As slight as Kurumi was changing things... It was still change. "Look, just don't. Its our thing. Don't change the good thing, Kurumi... Please."
A creature of habit, that was all she was.

A creature of habit, that was all she was. " And it's been your thing forever," Kurumi pointed out. Just in case, you know, Selina had somehow construed in her head that Quidditch equaled Kurumi. That that was ridiculous enough to make her want to burst out into laughter, but she refrained because now was not the time for that. " You can't stop things from changing, Selina. What if I had kept playing and then my seventh year ended and we were having this very same conversation?" Yeah, that logic was a bit faulty, but she was just trying to make the point that just because people wished the world would stop, didn't mean that it would.
Kurumi's soft smile sort of faded a bit. " Selina, I know you put a lot into my playing Quidditch. Your pretty much the reason why I am able to fly in a straight line and perform a half decent landing...so I can see how you might see this as my slapping you in the face, throwing away all that hard work and whatnot... but just because Gideon may teach you about potions to the point where your hair doesn't frizz out doesn't mean that you were meant to become a potions mistress." Just like Kurumi wasn't meant to become a Quidditch player.
Kurumi thought that there were many other things that were considered theirs - chocolate frog hating being an example - and just because she wasn't on the pitch didn't mean it would be any less of their thing, right? " Who says that that has to completely change? Do you honestly think that I won't show up to matches with a giant banner held above my head cheering you on?" While Adam may have been the reason for her to start, Selina was the one who had kept her going. The only reason really.

Your pretty much the reason why I am able to fly in a straight line and perform a half decent landing...so I can see how you might see this as my slapping you in the face, throwing away all that hard work and whatnot... but just because Gideon may teach you about potions to the point where your hair doesn't frizz out doesn't mean that you were meant to become a potions mistress." "Who says that that has to completely change? Do you honestly think that I won't show up to matches with a giant banner held above my head cheering you on?" While Adam may have been the reason for her to start, Selina was the one who had kept her going. The only reason really. Sometimes Selina really wished she were the smarter end of the duo. Kurumi always knew how to talk circles around Selina and make everything that Selina said sound utterly ridiculous. Selina was virtually fretting over a non-issue, but in Selina's eyes it was a very huge issue. Now Kurumi was poking holes in her theory and making it a fallacy. Selina had trapped herself in a circular argument and now there was nothing she could do but let the walls around her philosophy in life be poked at under the scope of Kurumi's much more logical answer.
Of course, Selina ignored her friend's well formed logic. Everything that she was saying virtually went in one ear and out the other. Selina did not want to hear the honesty in her friend's words so she would institute selective hearing, something Selina was very good at. In fact, she was so good at selective hearing it was almost scary. True, Selina knew that Kurumi was smarter than herself, so naturally what she said was usually right, but at the moment Selina did not care. She wanted to stand by what she had originally said, she did not want Kurumi to give up Quidditch.
Then Kurumi said she would still be at the games and cheering them on; however, Selina knew there was a difference in watching something and being involved. Loosing Kurumi on the team would be hard for her. The look on Kurumi's face was very telling though. There was no chance that Selina was going to be able to change her mind. Selina did not have that kind of power over Kurumi, she was a brave and strong little Gryffindor. A very different girl than the shy and easily pushed around Kurumi she had first met. Selina had helped change that.
Selina had helped change her. Another change, but not necessarily a bad one. Although Selina hated change she did like the brave and strong Kurumi. Maybe not all change was bad, but she still did not like it.
Her eyes glanced up at Kurumi and she said more of a statement than a question, "There's nothing I can say to change your mind?"
