The official home of the Lions, the Gryffindor common room, is found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Because the entrance to the common room is the portrait of the Fat Lady, Lions must know the password and speak it to the Fat Lady in order to get through.
"Carriwitchet!"
Remember that word...and keep it a close secret, for it's the current password you'll need to speak in order for the Fat Lady to swing away from the hole and allow you entrance to Gryffindor Tower. Once you're lucky enough to crawl through, you'll find that the common room is a circular area full of squashy armchairs, tables, and a bulletin board. A window looks out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace takes up one entire wall. It's the perfect place to relax and hang out after a long day of classes.
That is, unless you're in need of a nap or ready for a good night's rest. In that case, there are two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. Boys dormitories are upstairs and to the right, while girls dormitories are upstairs and to the left.
For whatever reason you're here, make sure you take good care of your home away from home. There's bound to be a perfect, your Head of House, or maybe even a house elf lurking nearby.
"Yeah, you know," Sage angrily chomped at the air as if to prove her point, "And the plants that scream so loud that theyll knock you unconscious"
Sage continued to stare into the fire, not realizing the fact that Ella didn't know that there actually was eating plants.
"Errr I still don't get what you mean." Ella said. Maybe she was missing something. Plants that eat people and others that scream... What was Sage going on about.

"My holiday was busy," she laughed, tossing some of her long black hair over her shoulder. "I spent the first month in New York studying abroad, then I visited a friend in Orlando, Florida for a week, and then returned back home to Japan for the remainder of the summer." Those last weeks at her home had certainly been interesting and NOT what she had expected at all. The more she thought about it, the more is made less and less sense. "How was your's?"
'Interesting feast, wasn't it? What do you think about the house elves incident?' Ariadne was genuinely curious to find out Kurumi's opinion, given that she had heard rumours around the school that the girl was a fan of house elves.
'Wow! A lot of time in the US, it seems. What did you study in New York?' Ari asked, trying not to be envious of her friend for spending a month in the most vibrant city in the world. The second year could only hope she'd see it too one day. 'And how was home? Any...er...changes?' Ariadne wondered, remembering the problems Kurumi had to face in her country.
'Mine? A lot less active than yours. I went to Wales with my mum for a week, like I've mentioned at the feast, and spent the rest of the time at home. I had some friends over, though, so it wasn't boring at all.Just relaxing.' While talking to her House's girl Prefect, Ariadne remembered she had been meaning to ask her something.
'Kurumi? What can you tell me about Professor Magnus? I've heard many older students talking about her.' Hopefully she was a better Transfiguration Professor than the infamous Shaw.
"Errr I still don't get what you mean." Ella said. Maybe she was missing something. Plants that eat people and others that scream... What was Sage going on about.
"Well, I don't remember what they were called," Sage said shrugging her shoulders, "but we'll learn about it in Herbology so don't worry about it!"
Sage wasn't quiet sure how to explain it, they were just plants, that just happened to be very dangerous.

He was about to answer Selina's question when Kurumi beat him to it. "Aye...they have been the source of some weirdness." Though not to discount there always was some bit of weirdness at the school each term...it just was effecting the house-elves for once.
There was another respond to his general greeting which made Josh look up curious as it was an unfamiliar male kid voice. Oh well. Josh could not say he had seen that one during the previous terms. Maybe he was one of those transferee people or maybe not. The boy did not know. It did not matter anyway as he seemed to be a good boy.
''Well..well...well. Have you claimed your bed in the dormitory yet, boy? Make sure it is away from any legless feline's sight. Just a helpful advice from the Master of Everything.'' And yes that master of everything was him, himself. Yup, still. Years did go by but some things just did not change.

She took it off her head and saw it was a tie, she looked around for the owner, there it was the same guy, who she just smiled at. He was just throwing him robes and stuff just like that. She looked at the boy and said "Hey, this is how you take care of your belongings?" she asked in an angry manner.

Giving her a quick nod Josh smiled back at her before moved some to make himself comfortable on the sofa. Heh. Girls...they were weird yet interesting creatures. Very interesting to be honest. But it was also an odd fact that he did not know many girls in his own house. Where was Sophie? She must have been gone for Kurumi took her place as the female prefect.
When the girl spoke up again, Josh was distracted from all his Gryffindor girls thoughts and as a result focused his attention back on the girl, staring at her. Then a tiny smirk appeared on his face when he figured that...she was kind of complaining about his stuff. Well...that was a bummer, was not it? She had been smiling like a good girl a moment ago. He pulled the robe off his head and narrowed his eyes on the older boy. He.. sort of reminded him of someone. Someone Thomas disliked with a passion.
Clutching the robe in one hand, he stood and skulked over to where the boy was on the sofa, not deterred by the fact that he was a lot older. “You wanna be more careful where you frow your fings?” He asked, quite clearly annoyed. “I ain' a blaady cloves rail!”

Grinning, Josh lifted himself up a bit so he could face the boy properly. He just needed to be informed some but...Aha! Robes! Thowing his robes back at him? At Josh Carter? Reason: double posting
Tom nodded. “Yeah. S'the only fing I woz any good at at me maggle school.” And this was no lie. Tom was an A-grade student in drawing and painting. It was every other subject that let him down. He was secretly dreading the first class at Hogwarts.
A fight? Tom's expression became serious as Emily spoke of her fight with her friend. Tom didn't know how that felt. His best friend was his dog and he'd certainly never had a fight with Diego. “I'm sure you'll work it ou' if you're best mates.” He replied. “..Is she a Gwyffie too?”
His eyes moved to the hole she was fidgeting with in her skirt, then back to her face. Perhaps he shouldn't have asked such a direct and personal question. His ma was always telling him he was too blunt with people. He chewed the inside of his cheek as Emily explained. “I fink I get tha'.” He said with a nod. “I mean, if they're raisin' yer... an' you weren't 'appy wiff your blaad parents.” Tom had known kids get taken into care. Hell, he'd been visited by a social worker on occasion before when he was playing truant from school. His home life though, was mostly happy, thankfully.
He shook his head. “Dun' be sorry. I dun' wanna pry or noffin', bu' I can listen if yer need me to.” He gave her a pointed and reassuring smile. He could do that, couldn't he?
That was cool he could draw. She wasn't very artistic herself, but she centainly enjoyed going to that art gallery one time. "I'm sure you would good at other things." She said smiling "I sometimes feel like all I'm good at is charms here, but I know I can only do my best!" Great, now she sounded like she was bragging. Well she enjoyed charms. That was probably why she was so good at it.
"Yeah." she nodded "So I may see her around the common room sometime, but it was a really big fight. I don't think we'll recover from it." She had been her only friend really. She spoke to other people, but Nika had been her only true friend... and she'd lost her, probably forever.
She looked up at him and smiled. It was always good to have someone to talk to, and merlin knew there was no body else. "Thanks." she smiled. He really was sweet. She barley concentrated on his accent anymore!
But anyway, this talk was depressing. She'd try to move it on to something better. "So, do you know what quidditch is?" she asked adjusting herself in her seat.
"What! They don't do anything in the Muggle world? Just grow?" Sage tried to imagine the plants just growing, but it seemed to odd to be true!
"Yeah they just grow, apart from plants like the Venus Flytrap which basically eats insects and stuff like that." Ella said whilst thinking that her mum would really want to see these plants that they have here in the Wizarding world, or even just find out about them.

Kurumi furrowed her brow and leaned her elbows on her knees. What did she make of the incident? She really wasn't sure. "It is all so odd," Kurumi finally said after a few moments. "At first I thought perhaps the elves were rebelling, but the manner in which they appeared in the Great Hall and began punishing themselves on the spot...it made no sense to think of that way. They really were genuinely sorry for what happened. I...I wonder if there is something wrong with their magic. House elves have extraordinary powers you know. Witches and wizards cannot apparate out of Hogwarts, but they can..." She furrowed her brow some more. She didn't want to worry the younger girl, but the cogs in her head were turning too quickly to be able to turn off her filtering system. "With the kitchens locked to students now, there is no way that we can get in."
Kurumi nodded. "It was my first time being abroad, unless you want to count coming to Hogwarts," she explained. She had tried to take in all the sights and smells, but she still felt as though she hadn't done the city justice. New York that is. There was still so much more she wanted to see and do. She ought to write to Vickers and see if perhaps they could meet up again during one of her holidays. She was missing him already. "Changes?" Kurumi asked, cocking her head to the left. "Oh...um...not really," she frowned. "Mother hasn't changed, but now father works in Diagon Alley for the Daily Prophet, so I can spend more time in the wizarding world."
Kurumi adjusted her sitting position just a bit, seeing as her right foot was now falling asleep and getting that tingling sensation that both hurt and made you want to laugh. "Professor Magnus? She is brilliant," Kurumi smiled. "She was here the term before you came, but had to leave suddenly. I spoke with her briefly at the feast and am planning on going to see her in the morning. She taught us really practical Transfiguration spells. For example, she taught us how to transfigure a piece of trash into a useful object. We actually ended up forming a band in class." She giggled softly at the memory. Her on her mini piano, Hugo on his ukulele, Salander - or had it been Josh? - on the maracas...
SPOILER!!: Oh my Rowling...Josh xD

Yeaa, it would be fun seeing her trying to tackle a brawny, eighteen year old. Hahaha.
Kurumi's jaw dropped and she immediately began searching the sofa she was sitting on for a certain furry creature. She wanted to think that Josh was only joking about, well, peeing on the cat. But Josh, Master of Getting Detention, was never one to go back on his word. "I really wish that you and my cat could make amends," she sighed. Not only that, but it seemed very VERY strange that a seventh year and a cat were in a fight for dominance over the common room.
Her attention was distracted for a few moments, but her head snapped back around when she felt something hit the back of her head and tumble across the ground. A chocolate frog box? Kurumi immediately felt a bit sick. Was she having another nightmare about those jumpy things?
On the plus side, there was a chocolate frog card inside. Picking it up, she turned it over to see that it was a Merlin card and that he...WHAT? "Slytherin? Merlin was in Slytherin?" she squeaked, her jaw hanging even more open now.
And then Josh opened his mouth again.
o_____________________O
At first, she blushed a deep pink at him calling her Pretty Prefect Princess. Although, any nickname Josh gave her made her blush, so this was nothing new. However, her jaw was now gaping like a fish out of water when she heard her new, and unofficial title.
"P-P-P-Personal secretary and manager?!"
Kurumi tried to hide her cheeks in her hands because they were practically on fire right now.
She felt a momentary sense of relief when it seemed like Josh was going to take care of the twins that were rolling around in a sibling rivalry fight in the middle of the common room, but that ended up now being the case. Kurumi smacked her forehead with the palm of her right hand.
I should have known...

Kurumi laughed. She was rather flattered that her tiny frame of being just barely five foot was mistaken for someone older. Usually it was always the other way around. Her robes were also a kind of give away. "We always learn from our mistakes," she winked. "I'm Kurumi, by the way."
"Nice to meet you Kurumi my name is Ivan." Ivan put out his hand to properly meet Kurumi.
"I think later." Anna looked in the direction of the ladder "I still have to unpack my baggage."
" Good idea" Willaim told Anna. " The classes do not at least three days" William said to Anna. "Herbalogy is the first class" Willaim smiled

"I've played a few times with my older brother, but never with a team," Sage stated.
Josephine smiled "Yeah, I would like to play with a team! It would be so fun!"

Lilly slumped on one one of the big armchairs. She had no idea where Rose was, and Violet was obviously in the Hufflepuff common room. Lilly caught sight of the second year boy she had met in Diagon Alley, but he was in deep conversation with his friends. Then she felt a tickle on her leg. She turned to the floor and saw it was just someone's cat. "I wonder where my cat is? Probabally with Violet." Lilly wondered aloud. She had never been lonely with Violet. It was a funny feeling. She wshed Violet was there. Would she be having the same problem? No, Violet was always so confident. Lilly had always been slightly shyer.

Emily walked down the stairs nervously and gave the room a weak smile. Everyone looked so grown up and scary, she felt like she wanted to turn and run back up to the dormitories. In the end she just stood there on the spot, looking a bit silly and awkward.
Ivan walked over to the notice board and saw that it was updated. He saw that Charms class was on there for the 7th. After going to grab his textbook out of his trunk he found a chair and began to get familiar with the book so could be a little more ready for class.

"hello!" Hayley said, to try and join the conversation!
"Hello, Hayley! how are You?" said Maxwell happy to have another person in the conversation.

Maxwell walked over to the older girl and introduced himself. "Hello, My name's Maxwell, I'm a first year! What's Your name?" Maxwell said with a smile.

Josephine giggled and went to sit next to Maxwell "We're always fighting, my older brother, Hikaru, usually decided who was the winner... but he is gone now, he stayed in Japan" she looked around and whispered "He's looking for his biological family, but don't say anything about it"
"Ok, I won't say anything about it. Are the three of You close? My sister's teased Me a lot, because i was different from them. I don't know if they were jealous of Me or just didn't like Me like My Dad."

"It's very cool!" Jordan enthasised. "How long has he been in your family?" he asked Maxwell. "I would love a pheonix!"
Maxwell took a moment to think about it and scratched his chin as if he had whiskers. "two generations before Me, My Grandmum got Him when She was a first year, and She gave Him to My Mother and Me being the only Magical one in the family inherited Him."

"Come and sit down" Willaim told Emily. " There is planty of room on the couches and a few chairs" Willaim said to Emma. " no reason not to sit down at all" Willaim explained to Emma.
" Good idea" Willaim told Anna. " The classes do not at least three days" William said to Anna. "Herbalogy is the first class" Willaim smiled
I just read Charms class is first and it starts tommorow" Willaim explained to Anna..
"O! This is wonderful!" Anna was pleasantly surprised. "This is a very interesting lessons! Which one do you like more?"

'I'm giving them to my friends, they can have them, the ones that don't have a pet, that's why they're here!' Rose said angrily. She was already upset about losing them, she didn't want to be berated about it! 'Three of the four people are in Gryffindor, so I'm giving them away, like you said! That way, I only have one!' she said simply. She was not going to let Kurumi see her cry. Nuh-uh.
Ronnie looked shocked as Rose sobbed right in front of her. "Rose!" she exclaimed. "What's the matter?" she said standing up, making the kittens fall to the ground. "Oh....sorry!" she said.
