The official home of the Lions, the Gryffindor common room, is found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Because the entrance to the common room is the portrait of the Fat Lady, Lions must know the password and speak it to the Fat Lady in order to get through.
"Carriwitchet!"
Remember that word...and keep it a close secret, for it's the current password you'll need to speak in order for the Fat Lady to swing away from the hole and allow you entrance to Gryffindor Tower. Once you're lucky enough to crawl through, you'll find that the common room is a circular area full of squashy armchairs, tables, and a bulletin board. A window looks out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace takes up one entire wall. It's the perfect place to relax and hang out after a long day of classes.
That is, unless you're in need of a nap or ready for a good night's rest. In that case, there are two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. Boys dormitories are upstairs and to the right, while girls dormitories are upstairs and to the left.
For whatever reason you're here, make sure you take good care of your home away from home. There's bound to be a perfect, your Head of House, or maybe even a house elf lurking nearby.
Carter entered the Common Room and headed straight for the notice board. There he pinned an announcement dealing with Quidditch.
He took a step back and admired his work. Sure, Destiny still had his badge, but that didn't mean that he couldn't take care of posting the sign-up list.
But he would have to get the badge back before try-outs. There was no way he'd expose his team to the Slytherin's influence.
...At least, not yet.
"Anyone interested in playing Quidditch this term, sign ups are now open!" he said to his fellow house mates.
Now, to find Josh. He needed to make sure his owl survived the summer.
Ariella pumped her fist in the air as Carter posted the notice about question. "You know I am!" She grinned, remembering how much fun she had last term when she was on the team. She had been practicing insanely over the summer and was super excited for tryouts to begin.
"Hi Elsie, I'm Ivan and no just getting to know some fellow Gryffindors. As a first year I want to get to know my house mates." Ivan looked at the girl hoping that they could be friends as well. This is going pretty good already spoke to William, a second year, Ellie, Kurumi, a fourth year, and now Elsie.
"Yeah that has been what I am trying to do!" Elsie smiled, all the first years seemed to have similar intentions so far! Excited for classes?
Anna smiled "Oh, no! At least not this year. I am not so good to fly on a broomstick in order to play a game of Quidditch." She lowered her eyes and looked at her left hand to straighten bracelet. "And you're going to try?"
" WEll, I am sure you eill learn how to fly well this term" Willaim told Anna. " Then I bet you make the Quidditch teeam next term' Willaim said to Anna. " Yes, I am trying out this year for Quidditch juat like I did last year" Willaim explained to Anna. " The flying professor is the tops" William smiled.

"Thanks! Elsie's very pretty too!" Willow blushed slightly, "And yeah, I have been! Everyone's so nice! How about you? Are you missing home?" she asked.
"Thankyou! Yes it has been great so far! Everyone has been lovely, especially the Gryffindors." Elsie smiled at Willow, she seemed really nice. hopefully they would become friends. "No not yet, I am sure I will get homesick eventually, but not untill all this excitement wears off!" Elsie looked around the room and noticed how happy everyone seemed. She felt content finally, after years of waiting she could finally begin her life at Hogwarts. "So do you know much about this place? I only know what my parents have told me but I did go to the library today to borrow a copy of Hogwarts a History."

"Hmm...I wonder if I should try out? Go out with a bang, just like old times, huh?" Rafe lightheartedly laughed.
Carter chuckled when he heard Rafe. "Thanks mate." he said happily. "I'm still getting used to it... although, I guess it helps that Destiny has my badge. It still feels a bit weird."

That was an understatement.

"Oh yeah, I have them right here." She said pulling them out of a pocket in her robes. "Want one?" She asked opening the bag of Haribo. "They are my favourite sweets! You'll probably find them really boring, they don't do anything." Ella said wishing that everything she had wasn't so boring. The stuff they had in the Wizarding world seemed so much more exciting. Like moving paintings and chocolates that start hopping around and plants that eat people.
Sage took a few of the sweets and layed them out on her lap to examine them.
"Weird!" Sage muttered to herself before hesitently popping one in her mouth. At first she expected it to do something, anything in fact, but it didin't so she chewed the snack before swallowing, "That was really good! Do you have any more?"

Ariella happily noticed two familiar faces - Jordan and Ronnie - chatting to each other across the room. She rushed over to them excitedly. "Ronnie! Jordan! Hey!!" It felt like forever since she had seen Ronnie - she had almost forgotten how much fun they had last term with Rose.
"Yeah guess we want to know the people we will be basically living with for most of the year." Glad someone else was doing the same thing. "I am excited for class we have Charms class tomorrow."
Most of the year? We will be living with these people for maybe seven years! Elsie paused as she could not imagine being in one school for so long. She had always loved change but there would be no more of that for quite some time. She guessed she would just have to get used to it. Charms should be fun! I just can't wait to learn about everything. So did you know much about the school before you got here? I only really knew about the houses, I have always wanted to be in Gryffindor!

"We will only be with the first years for the next seven but I know a second year and a fourth year thats why I said most." Ivan sat down in a chair and looked at Elsie," I did not know about any of this until I got my letter so it is all new to me."

"Wow so you are a muggleborn? I cannot imagine not growing up with magic! Were you surprised when you got your letter?" Elsie growing up in a very much wizarding world always had little to do with any muggles and was always intrigued by how they live.

"Yes I am a muggleborn and I was surprised by the letter but it explained alot." Ivan thought again about his uncle who had raised him for 9 years.
Josephine thought about it "I would like mine to be a lion or something like that, my dad's is a cheetah and I've only seen it twice" she smiled.
Maxwell took a moment to think on His own question. "I'm not sure what i'd like mine to be, maybe a wolf or a dog. Did your Dad just show you, or was there a Dementor?"
Did you just lose something? The GAME? Sorry... 'Justin Bieber, he is the man!' U mad, Felton!?

Twirl licked Scabbers, Scabbers squeaked and curled up next to her, Twirl lied down with him. "Aww, they love eachother!" Ronnie said.
'Alright!' Rose smiled as Ronnie got up to get Scabbers. 'AW! That's so sweet!' Rose squealed. She noticed the kittens were starting to get restless. Only Mars and Galalxy to go!

Ivan didn't seem particular talkative. Elsie hoped it was because he was just nervous or a little overwhelmed and not about her in any way. "Are you okay?!" She smiled at him hoping he would relax a little bit. "I can't wait for quidditch to start! Lets hope Gryffindor wins the Quidditch Cup this year!"

With the aid of magic, her and her classmates were able to do all sort of things that she had never dreamed imaginable. Not to mention last year she saw her professors and friends enveloped by blue smoke and releasing the spirits of dead pirates who had taken their bodies over. Next to that, house elves contracting some sort of illness that made them unable to use their magic seemed to be more realistic. Har har. "Well, we have historical evidence that they could," she said with a wink. She was, of course, referring to Dobby the Free Elf. Kurumi frowned a bit. "I...I don't think a break in would be the best idea, though it had crossed my mind. I can just imagine the house elves beating themselves for not putting up enchantments or properly keeping students out. Putting us in danger as it were." She paused for a moment to think. "We COULD go and speak to the Headmaster though. The sign does say students are not allowed, but it doesn't say anything about...adults..." Kurumi's eyes widened. Was it...possible? She was not sure she really wanted to risk losing Gryffindor THAT many points for brewing the potion...nor the wrath of Dragon Lady.
However...she did have the notes for it now...
"The people," she said with a slight blush to her cheeks. Her thoughts drifting temporarily to Vickers. "Everyone spoke so differently and they always seemed to be in a hurry to go somewhere. Very different from the countryside life I am used to," she continued, trying to cover up her blush just a bit. "Oh, and the pizza. No mayonnaise on pizza is fantastic." Or corn for that matter.
Kurumi shook her head. "Only part time. He apparates between Diagon Alley and Japan. He has a flat here, just in case he needs to stay longer to finish reporting." As strange as it sometimes seemed to her, there was no way that her father could go very long not seeing her mother.
"The incantation is Covadium and the wand movement is very simple, just a swish to the left and then tap the piece of trash," Kurumi nodded. "Professor Magnus actually gave me permission to use the Transfiguration practice room, so you are welcome to come with me and I can try and teach it to you." Hopefully, Ari wouldn't melt her trash like Kurumi had.
And she wasn't going to comment on Shaw. The man was too scary.
That was, indeed, the beauty of living in the wizarding world. Almost everything was possible. Ari was lucky to have been raised in the wizarding world, because at least she knew what to expect of Hogwarts (though no matter how well documented she had been, there were still many things that impressed her), unlike Muggleborns, who probably got the shock of their lives. A pleasant one, however.'Historical evidence? What do you mean?' the second year asked. She wasn't familiar with elf history, but Kurumi was bound to know more.
Ariadne was a bit disappointed by how quickly her plan of organizing a break-in had been thwarted. Nevertheless, she had to agree that going to see the Headmaster was a wiser thing to do. 'I haven't really considered the possibility that they might hurt themselves if someone got in. Do you know if someone has spoken to Tate yet? If not, can I come with you to see him on that?' Ari suggested. 'I understand if you want to go alone. It was your idea, after all.' she added after a while.
Why Kurumi was blushing when talking about the people in New York, Ari had no idea. She was not the most perceptive of people when it came to subtleties, nor a mind-reader, so she just let it slip. 'I am also used to the quiet life. My hometown is so small, more like a village. Even Hogwarts is busier that that. Can you believe that the first pizza I've tried was just a month ago, at the carnival?' Unbelievable as it may sound, it was true.
In Ari's opinion, Kurumi's father had a very complicated life, apparating between Japan and London. 'Isn't it too much for him? I don't think I could do something like that.' she said in admiration. It occured to her that mental strength was oftenly underrated in comparison with physical strength, though probably more important. Maybe Kurumi had inherited that from her father and that was one of the reasons why she became a Gryffindor.
'Covadium. Swish to the left. Tap the piece of trash.' Ariadne repeated the instructions in order to be able to memorize them. 'Got it.' she smiled. 'Really? You'd do that for me? Thank you! I'd like that very much.' the young Gryffindor replied giddily.

"H-Hello," she said meekly, closing the cover of her book and resting it on her lap.
Charles saw the girl he had sat beside look up from her book and greet him, well that was nice of her. Cherry never stopped reading to listen to him, reading was like her life. The common room was crowded and Charles didn't think he was going to go up to the dormitories soon, so he might as well talk to someone.
"Helloooo there, " He smiled at her, then glanced at the book she was holding. "Interrupted your reading?" He asked her winking. She seemed to be younger than him, and he could see a shiny prefect badge on the front of her robes.

Yep.

Oooooookay, Kurumi had no idea what the boy was saying, although she could take a good guess. His accent wasn't nearly as terrible as Mr. Viking's, but still demanded her attention when he was speaking.
Sh squeaked a bit when he glanced her way, startled still by the title Josh had given her. And then...her breath caught in her throat when he demanded an apology fro Josh of all people. Holding her breath, she waited for the explosion a la Josh to happen.

"I suppose I should clarify things a bit," Kurumi giggled. Applying wizarding magical principles to house elves wasn't exactly the correct thing to do. "House elves don't need to apparate, they have their own form of magic that allows them to pop in and out of school. Have you ever heard of Dobby? He is an example of one of the elves that popped in and out of Hogwarts during when Harry Potter was a student here." So, perhaps house elves were more powerful than witches and wizards on some fronts, but they also possessed powers that the elves didn't. Still...something was off. "It's not a matter of whose's idea it was," Kurumi said shaking her head. "If you are concerned you should go and speak with him too." Kurumi actually had him penciled into her schedule for later that day.
"I had my first caramel apple at the carnival!" Kurumi chirped. It was funny how many things were still out there waiting to be discovered and tasted. "I feel like I had pizza for the first time when I had it in New York. Nothing like I have ever had before. It was brilliant." She looked at Ari for a moment. "You probably wouldn't really fancy Japanese pizza. Many of them include mayonnaise or corn on them. Mother refuses to buy it, so my brothers would order it whenever she wasn't home." Which had resulted in more than a few mix up including each of her three brothers ordering a large pizza each think that the other hadn't ordered yet.
"Father seems to enjoy it," she replied with a shrug. As long as her father was happy she was happy.
"Of course! I was actually thinking about heading down there soon...but I need someone to help me carry my trunk," she replied looking at the younger girl with an innocent puppy dog face. She even batted her eyelashes for extra emphasis.

"Helloooo there, " He smiled at her, then glanced at the book she was holding. "Interrupted your reading?" He asked her winking. She seemed to be younger than him, and he could see a shiny prefect badge on the front of her robes.
Well, that was certainly one of the more interesting forms of hello she had received recently. Blinking a few times, unsure of what to make of the elongated 'o' sound, Kurumi simply bowed her head in return. Why were boys always so complicated and weird? "Not really," she said, turning the cover over on her lap. "Just doing some light reading on dragons."
She leaned over a bit to put the text on the table, out of the way so that she wasn't tempted to pick it up and start reading again. "I-I'm Kurumi, by the way." And then she panicked a bit, but only momentarily in the eyes. Was she supposed to stand up and offer him a handshake, or was it alright to sit down and do so? She never could wrap her mind entirely around British etiquette.
