OPTION ONE

• Draw a picture of your character with their new hairdo and colour, and in the clown costume if you wish. Also do one or two RP posts of your character practising the spells they learnt in the lesson. Can be done anywhere on the grounds. Send me the picture and links to the posts in a PM labelled 'Transfiguration Homework 1'.
  
  
  OOC: The picture has to be of your own making, either one done in Photoshop/GIMP/Paint etc...or hand drawn. I will NOT accept an image that has been taken straight from the internet and passed off as your own.

OPTION TWO

• Have your character RP practising all the spells learnt in class, in a minimum of 5 separate posts. The posts don't need to be in the same location each time. Then send the links to each post to me via PM.

We are currently in the middle of brewing the potion, but that doesn't mean you can't just jump in and participate! We are brewing a Hate Potion that is to be tested on someone that you care for and could be a lot of fun RPing!

Have your character complete the process for Orinthomancy as described in class. Make sure to include whether any flight patterns were present & what they might mean for your character in the coming weeks / near future? If you don't see any flight patterns, provide some sort of explanation for why this might be? Perhaps something with the setup or the sky? Too cloudy? Mind unclear? Use your imagination . . .

Once the spell was cast, Hecate retracted her wand in her wrist holster. "Then you let it brew for 2 hours." She took a breath and said. "Once the time passed, come and retrieve your potion. For homework you will administer it to someone who cares about you. If you do not have someone that cares about you, take a pigmypuff. It will fall in love with you once you pet it, then you can administer the hate potion. Once you finish, you are all dismissed."

ooc: RP this somewhere in the castle or on the grounds. PM me the links. Worth 10 ponts. Homework is due 7 days from this post, (to the hour.) THis thread will remain open till them for you to post yourself retrieving the potion.

Part 1a:
Practice the Arithmos Revelio spell. Using the box you picked up from the lesson, tap the top of the box once with your wand and it will unfold to reveal a walnut. The only problem is that the walnuts each carry the same curse on it that we saw here in class, which is why they are contained in these magical boxes. When you get the spell correct, the number will appear clear and in full, as opposed to seeing incorrect, incomplete or fuzzy numbers.

Remember, if you happen to touch the walnut, you'll only stop moving for about 30 seconds at most. So I don't want to hear that you couldn't complete the assignment due to your own fatality.

Also to note, if your character is younger, it'd be perfectly reasonable for them to NOT get a clear or correct number. That's OKAY. Think about your character's skills and talents, when doing this assignment.

Part 1b:
Using what you know about the spell placed on the walnut, try to open it by bypassing the curse. Be creative. Remember, it doesn't take advanced magic to bypass it, but it does take knowledge of what the spell does and how to counter it.
Parts 1a and 1b SHOULD be done in the RP, minimum three posts [for both parts] for full credit!

Part 1c:
Write 4-8 sentences (max. 10 please!) reaction about the spell and using it to determine information about cursed objects. Did the spell work for you? You may also include reflection on trying to open the walnut.

Part 2:
What would the characteristics be for the following numbers:

If 505 was Kernel/Core in the spell, what would this mean?

If 129 was the Range in a spell number, what does this indicate?

If 63 was the Basis, what does this mean?

All homework MUST be placed in the designated spot outside Professor Hadley's office. (OOC Translation: This is different from previous terms, but for this term I will no longer be accepting homeworks via PM. Please EMAIL all assignments to Professor Hadley. The first time you PM, you will receive a warning. The second time, you will receive NO credit.

The title of the email should read "Arithmancy Homework #_" (fill in the appropriate number).

Please include your Character Name, User Name, House, and User ID Number (Your ID Number can be found by viewing your profile. It is the numbers after username in the address bar. If you do forget your ID number, by any chance, don't worry about it, as I am sure I can figure out how to locate your member ID & give you proper credit for your work )

Please check all grammar and spelling before submitting assignments. This isn't part of the grading criteria, but it does make things easier to grade.

Lastly, I reserve the right to deduct points on the assignment for not following a rule.
