Gideon wasn't fully aware of his roommate's feelings on the subject, still unclear of other people's opinions and views of the relationship between the two clueless friends. "Yeah we're alright. The one thing we've managed to agree on is still being friends no matter what," he answered leaning up on his elbows feeling odd laying fully as Christopher sat up.

As he registered the second question that was on the tail of the first, Gideon debated on how far to go on the descriptions. It could put the other boy in an ackward position considering Christopher's relation to Selina. But then maybe he could help him understand things. "Well we...sorta kissed...in the locker room...after the game," he finally answered wondering what kind of response he would get to his admittance.

Agreed on still being friends no matter what? "Pardon, but, what do you mean by that?" the puzzled boy asked, completely unaware of what his roommate was talking about. Had the two gotten into an arguement? Had something else happened?

But it seemed like Gideon would waste no time in explaining what happened between the Quidditch players. Christopher's jaw drop. They WHAT!? Gideon and Selina.... kissed!?! He certainly hadn't been expecting that at all, and his mind was absolutely racing. "You two.... kissed...." he said slowly, nodding. It was more a statement of confirmation to himself than anything. As far as he knew, Selina had never kissed anyone! It proved he was right about the two, but still, it was barely something he could even comprehend.

All the while he kept his cool, though his face showed strain and proved his loss for words. Gideon was probably very aware of his discomfort to the situation. It wasn't that he wasn't okay with Gideon with his sister, he honestly would rather have it be Gideon then anyone else he knew! But Selina Skylar was, and always would be, Christopher's little sister. His best friend. So of course he would be over protective. But that didn't mean he had to hate Gideon, certainly not. He rather liked Gideon. So rather than attempting to be some angry tough guy that he wasn't, Christopher took the more polite, reasonable approach.

"Please be careful with her. I know she's tough, and she's strong and fiery, but she's just a girl, and she's incredibly insecure about herself. Please don't hurt her," he said sincerely, not taking his eyes from Gideon's. After a few moments of silence, he sighed and sat up straighter, running his hand through his hair. Trying to lighten the situation, he laughed and said, "If you do, I might have to beat you up, and both of us know I'm not strong in the least."

He was about to try and answer to clarify what he meant when the truth of his revelation hit Christopher who registered what had happened between Selina and him. It was then Gideon's turn to fully sit up when Christopher finally reacted the way he had thought he might...the protective stance he took to keep Selina safe. And as he moved, his eyes were locked in the other boy's own, listening to everything he had to say and nodding to show understanding before finally replying when he was though.

"You don't have to worry about that Christopher..." he answered trying to think of the right words to try and assure his roommate and brother of his possible future girlfriend. "I don't want her hurt anymore then you do. She's one of my closest friends and I would hope its mutual...I guess its why we're both so...soo...hesitant to admit to moving on to anything more then just friends," Gideon explained, rambling a bit near the end but knowing it all needed to come out to someone...anyone.

With a sigh he finally turned away, breaking the lock of their gazes and looking down at his now indian-styled crossed legs. He let out stiffled laugh at the last part. "Got it...you will physically beat me...Kurumi will be able to hex me to oblivion...I promise neither will be needed."

A wave of relief crashed over Christopher as Gideon explained what was going on between them. "I'm really glad you respect her as much as she respects you. Because I honestly don't know if I could handle it if she picked some crazy nutter like Adam Burn," he said with a laugh. Turning a tad bit more serious, he asked, "Is that all that's gone on...? Or... what?" He was a little curious to see if there had been anything else that had happened between the pair. Hopefully nothing other than that one kiss, and friendship! Well, of course there was probably a lot of flirtatious comments and what not, but he didn't really want to think about Selina and a boy. It was very foreign. Very... weird.

"Oh, I'll have help from Kurumi? Excellent. Now I'm much more assured that you'll be good to Selina. I may not be a good fist fighter, but I do know that Kurumi has some wicked wand work," he joked, chuckling. He rather enjoyed talking to Gideon, it seemed like Selina knew how to pick out some pretty good friends.

Gideon, too, was relieved when Christopher spoke and didn't seem so...defensive against him because of what he had been told. "Seeing how she's dealt with the likes of him, I doubt that ever happening," he commented echoing his companion's laughter. Gideon then nodded to his question about the kissing being all that had happened. "Aye...that's all. Well besides her stea---borrowing ma house scarf but she did replace it for ma birthday with another more colorful one." To be honest with the new development, the new scarf meant more then his original one did since it was a gift from Selina.

"Well she hasn't said as much, but I wouldn't put it past her," he clarified so Christopher didn't assume anything even though his laugh told he was joking. The fellow fourth year may be on the gentle side but he knew she cared for Selina.

The scarf, huh? That made sense. He finally was beginning to understand the entirety of the conversation the redhead and himself had shared at the Three Broomsticks. If he recalled it correctly, she'd said something along the lines of: Scarves are the reason behind it. Selina had stolen Gideon's scarf- he had been right! No matter how much she'd deny it, he was right. He contemplated on teasing her about it later, but eventually decided against it. Boys, for Selina, were a rather sensitive subject and he wouldn't hold that against her. He himself was just as lost (if not more) about girls.

With somewhat of a smirk, Christopher spoke up. "Well I'm glad you two are figuring things out without it getting messy. As long as you're good to her, I'm okay with you guys possibly dating in the future, even though it really isn't up to me," he said with a chuckle. Gideon was a good kid, and he was definitely glad Selina didn't pick any other jerk. She was a smart cookie, that one.

"I'm fairly well acquainted with her, Kurumi, I mean, and while she seems very sweet, I've seen her and Selina. They're best friends. I know she'll be just as watchful over her as I will." What could he say? The cookie girl was a good friend.

Ryan rushed up the stairs of his Dormintory rushed down under his bed.He put his hand in his trunk and pulled out a box.In that had a special suprise for Chelsea.He rushed quickly back out the door and out of the Common Room.

"Thanks...somehow that helps," Gideon admitted to the other boy. Perhaps because it was the approval of a friend of both he and Selina on their relationship, whatever it eventually turned out to be. And he sure hoped things continued to remain unmessy for it wouldn't be worth it in the end then. Their friendship meaning more then anything else could between them.

"Aye...so true," he replied with a nod in agreement. That's why he didn't doubt that Kurumi would do something horrible to him if he did anything to Selina. The secret was the big IF which...as he had already promised Christopher, he certainly wasn't planning on doing.

William entered the Boy's Dorm with the egg he had named Mischievous inside the pocket of his robes. He didn't realize that it was so chilly outside, for when he took Mischievous out of his pocket he noticed that it was really cold. He knew that it wasn't good for Mischievous to get too hot or too cold, so he decided he needed to warm the egg up a little.

William took his wand out of his other pocket, set Mischievous down on his bed and then pointed his wand directly at the metal egg. "Argentum Calidus," he said, taking care to pronounce the words carefully. At the same time he was saying the spell he used a swishing motion with his wands, the same one the Charms professor had demonstrated in class, and then followed by tapping his wand lightly on Mischievous.

Within a few minutes, he touched the egg and saw that the temperature had risen to an acceptable level. "Now you're nice and comfy, Mischievous," William said, patting the egg lightly. "Get a good sleep."

William placed the egg on a pillow next to the bed. He saw that Mischievous was already trying to skip away and scolded the egg gently. "Lie down and go to sleep, Mischievous," he told the little metal egg. "We don't want either one of us to get in trouble for roaming about these halls at night!"

Finally the egg was still, and William sighed softly. Taking care of Mischievous was proving to be tougher than he thought. Mischievous' name was proven to be more apt than he had ever thought.

When Gideon had woken up that morning and checked on his egg as he had taken to on a semi regular basis. However this time it felt different and when he was sat up, he took the silver item into his hands only to feel it shiver.

What in Merlin's beard?

It certainly hadn't done that before, especially in response to his touch. Well was it his touch...or just a response to anything that he just happened to turn his attention to it when it was reacting? Whatever the case, Gideon knew he should try and see if he should do something. Remembering his notes from Charms class, he got up to retrieve them returning to his bed and sitting with the egg on his pillow in front of him and his notes beside them both.

Maybe it didn't like the cold weather...and he had moved it from warmth?
It certainly made sense so he slipped out his wand to cast something that could help. "Alright so argentum calidus should warm it," he mused, looking over the incantation and wand movement so he would get it right. "Argentum Caldus!" he finally cast with the appropriate swish and tap on the egg itself. Gideon couldn't help relax when he picked it up and felt the egg stop shivering as it got warmer because of the spell.

Guess it worked...

Carter entered the dorm and threw himself into bed. This was the worst Valentine's Day of his life. It was worse then the times he was single... and even worse than Caroline being gone last term.

The dorm was strangely empty... probably because everyone was out having a good day.

Since his feet had not brought him to the common room right away after what had happened at the gazebo place, Josh spent all night and the very first hours of valentine's day out on the grounds until it was not dark anymore and he felt like he needed sleep. So, climbing the stairs up to the seventh floor lazily, he made his way directly to the dorms and stepped into the room with the dreaded air of someone who had managed to break up with the love of his love on Valentine's day.

Huh?

There was someone there. Actually he was hoping to be alone and sleep some yet...this was Carter.

''Carter.'' he greeted with a dull tone before collapsing on his bed beside one of the windows.

Carter rolled over and opened an eye when he heard someone enter. Who, in Merlin's name, would opt to stay in on Valentine's Day?

"Josh?" he asked in complete disbelief. What was he doing here?

And why did he sound so... dull?

"Why aren't you out with Evelyn?"

Maybe he should sleep now and never wake up. Yes, that felt like the right thing to do yet that expression Carter had on his face upon seeing him there totally distracted him from the idea.

And that he asked that question...which made Josh look even more sour faced and sigh. ''No more 'out with Evelyn' moments for me.'' so he said hoping it would be enough for him to figure out what had happened. He would figure it out, right? Yet...that was Carter Phillips, only Merlin knew what he would understand from that.

Carter raised an eyebrow. What did he mean no more Evelyn moments?

Did that mean...?

"Did you finally break up with her?" he asked. Because that would be brilliant. It would mean no more Evilyn for Carter.

Why would Josh be sad about something like that? They should be celebrating!

Moving on his bed, Josh reached for his trunk at the other side of it near the window to find something to help him cheer up a bit. Perhaps a chocolate bar. He opened the trunk hastily and so violently that it banged at the wall and despite the loud voice it had made, the lion boy was like he had heard nothing.

His face was still sour as he started to throw away everything in the trunk around the room as he desperately looked for a piece of chocolate. Then...

...then Carter said that causing the sour expression turn into an angry one which looked deadly and dangerous. With narrowed eyes, he glared at his best mate. ''What do you mean finally? WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN!!!??''

Carter had to bob and weave to avoid flying objects from Josh's trunk. At one point he had to hold up his pillow to block some kind of flying book from hitting his face.

Sweet Merlin. Someone had anger issues.

He jumped and fell off his bed in surprise.

SWEET MERLIN!

"Josh..." he said hesitantly from his spot on the floor. "What happened?" Because whatever happened... Carter was guessing... was not by Josh's choice.

And yes. He was planning on staying on the floor... just in case he needed to roll under the bed for protection.

Josh did not react when Carter fell off his bed. He did nothing at all. Nothing. He was even still glaring at the now empty spot where Carter used to be before he fell down. Then letting out an angry breath, he turned back to his trunk to keep looking for chocolate.

When Carter said his name and asked that question, the boy seemed to be ignoring it. He did try to ignore it and forget what had happened yet he could not. He was unable to do it. So, halting motionless for a moment, he stared down at the trunk.

And all in a sudden the sorrowful lion jumped on his feet and kicked the trunk away from himself.

BAM!!

''I am an idiot!!! SHE NEVER LOVED ME!!! I have been just...i don't even know what i have been doing during all those years.''

Carter peeked out from behind the bed at his very angry friend. Sweet Merlin the boy just kicked a trunk!

He stood up suddenly when Josh explained what was wrong. "She did what?" he exclaimed. He was pretty sure that Josh was the only thing that ever made Evelyn smile.

"Are... are you sure? What did she say? What happened?"

With all the anger, Josh felt like kicking that trunk out the window and maybe finding some random guys to beat into oblivion. Yet he also had to keep what he had been told about anger management in his mind so the Gryffindor boy tried restrain himself from doing both. Especially no breaking bones of random people. The last thing he needed was finding himself in the detention dungeon again.

So taking a VERY DEEP breath, he rubbed his face and eyes and took a few steps away from the trunk, especially the beater's bat inside it, in order to keep himself from doing something wrong out of fury and disappointment. Once he believed he calmed down a bit, he sat back on his bed and looked at Carter trying not to glare.

''I prepared a surprise for her and i wanted it to be during the first hours of Valentine's Day. I thought it was going well but...'' he sighed deeply at this point before going on ''...it all changed when i...i...proposed to her. Her face, her mood, everything about her changed then and she simply turned me down.''

Carter watched Josh carefully. He was mentally preparing himself to bind Josh should he suddenly get out of control.

But luckily that wasn't necessary.

Carter sank to his bed when Josh confessed to what happened.

He whistled under his breath. "Wow." he said slowly. "Wow." he repeated again.

"Are you even ready for something like that...? Is she? Have you two talked about it before?" Because this was the first he was hearing about it. And he'd actually be a bit offended if they had been and he hadn't been informed of this.

On the bright side though... his awful Valentine's with Marilyn seemed like less of a big deal.

Ryan walked into his Dormintory Limping in pain.He sat down on the bed and slowly took his shoe off.It was purple.He eased down closing his eyes.Thinking about Chelsea,He didn't know how he was going to Not see Chelsea for the whole holidays.He laid back falling asleep.

William went to the domitory. He ctied and cries. No Minerva, no meeting her parents. Minerva not meeting his parents. Not going to her dance competions. Oh yeah, Harvey will be with her, How fair-NOT!!!

Gideon returned to his dorms after having been out and about the castle and grounds enjoying the nice weather as June dawned. Just out in his casual clothes without uniform and robes, he had left the egg back in his room in its perch beside his bed pillow. Walking towards his curtained bed, he didn't think anything was off until he got closer and was able to notice the movements of the silver object.

Ugg the one time in a long while he left his egg alone and it starts to freak out while he's gone.

"Easy there Egg," he said quietly still having not named it after all the months since the project had bagan. The boy picking the silver egg up into his hand and gently stroking it to show it attention wondering if that was it. Had the curious and strange metal object actually gotten used to his presence that it got lonely not being close to him at all times?

Gideon shook his head, he was still not convinced of a sentience within the orb that would be required for such an reaction. Something else had to be the cause for it to make any sense. "Argentum calidus," he cast warming it up since it had reacted to his touch and perhaps in some way... his body warmth. That seemed to work for the most part so collapsing onto his bed to relax, he kept his metal charge resting on his chest as he closed his eyes. The boy falling off for a nap and the egg was no longer reacting badly.
