Kurumi made her way down to the pitch feeling a little nervous. Maybe...it wasn't flying in general that freaked her out, but flying under Professor Vindictus' instruction that freaked her out. That man DID have an insane streak.

"Good day, Professor Vindictus," Kurumi said with a slight bow. Not wanting to set the man off, Kurumi had left her broom behind.

Nate ran down to the rows of brooms, proud to be the first one there. "Hello Professor Vindictus!" he said. Of course he knew Prefessor V, he was head of Ravenclaw! Nate chose the nicest-looking broom and sat down by it, legs crossed.

"Good day, Kurumi," replied Vindictus and he flashed his trademark smile. And he noticed something. Well, make it that his stomach noticed something. "So . . . no cookies for the world's best Flying professor?"

Minerva walked into the field. "Hello Professor, Do I go to any broom or will you be assigning one to me?" Minerva was so nervous she just hoped it didn't show. She was terrified of the plane ride from the U.S. to England and now they wanted her on a broom. This was going to be interesting.

Pam skipped out onto the field. Excited for her first flying lesson. The only lesson she really was looking forward to. She saw her friend Nate, and waved in his direction.

Gideon hadn't been a regular attendee of flying class in the past, having gone to them intermittaantly. But he figured seeing as he had made the quiditch team this term that any time in the air would serve as extra practice of sorts. So when the time for class was near, the fourth year made his way down to the pitch were it was to be held, spotting Professor Vindictus and Kurumi already there.

"Good day professor," he greeted with a polite nod. "...Kurumi."

Kennedy walked over to the pitch with a somewhat wary feeling. This was going to be an interesting lesson, since it was his first flying lesson. It wasn't his first time on a broom, but it made him feel nervous that he was going to be graded for this. Why did they need brooms, anyway? What he was looking forward to was driving a car. Now, that is what this school needed, driving lessons.

As Kennedy neared the instructor he greeted him. "Morning Professor." And now he waits.

Josephine skipped to the field, her hair color dark teal and in plaits because of the Transfiguration homework "Hello Professor! I hope I can enjoy this class!" she smiled and mentally scolded herself, calling herself a bunch of names in different languages in her mind.

Sage practically ran down to the pitch for her flying lesson. She had to admit, she was looking forwrd to this lesson more than any of the others. When she had arrived, she noticed how lush and green the grass was. Professor Vindictus was standing by some broom on the pitch. Sage noticed some other students already there and made her way over to them.

"Hello Professor Vindictus," Sage said politlely and waited for the class to start....

Louisa made her way to the pitch, grudgingly, and was wishing to find Vashti anywhere because in this particular lesson, Louisa was beyond hopeless. And did she have a broom with her? Heck, no! Not after getting her own destroyed last year! She'd wasted precious galleons that were supposed to buy something more useful - books.

"Good day, Professor." She gave a formal tiny smile at the old man and stood with her arms folded across her chest. Let's see if Louisa's butt was used to falling off brooms yet or not.

Others quickly joined the group. "Hello, hello, hello!" greeted a rather cheerful Vindictus (who'd be happier if a certain Gryffindor prefect brought him cookies). "Please stand beside a broom!"

Rosalie walked to the group gathered by the brooms. "Hello Professor!" Rosalie smiled and walked over to join the other students

Oh, the fresh aaaaaaaaaair! Eino ran outside with his arms stretched out, facing the sky, and eyes closed. He hadn't been out in a while, there was too much studying to do, but most of it was enjoyable. He was just happy that for once he was required to go outside for a class. Well, he wasn't required to but he needed to practice. He approached the quidditch with a PROFESSOR-PROFESSOR-I-MADE-IT-TO-THE-QUIDDITCH-TEAM-AREN'T-YOU-PROUD-OF-ME expression, which was the same expression he always wore on his face, so maybe Vindictus wouldn't be able to tell. Now he really had to work on his flying skills. He had improved quite a lot last year, but he was still not up to par.

Minerva went over to a broom. She looked at it. I'm really suppose to fly on this? She was very nervous to do this.

At this command to the newly approaching students, Nate stood up by his broom. He waved back at Pam, then returned his attention to Professor Vindictus, awaiting further instruction.

Louisa's eyebrows were raised in mild surprise. Well, it was nice to see someone was excited today, pffft. The girl walked to one of the brooms and stood right next to it, her carelessness was all over her face but WHO CARES, she just wanted this flying issue out of her way.

...it was rather weird to see the Professor so cheerful. She couldn't help recalling him from that flying final lesson. It's really... odd.

Gideon smiled softly as the older man returned the greeting to him and those who had joined the group around the same time. He nodded in understanding of the instructions, the boy moving to stand in the front row next to one of the various free brooms.

Lexi happily made her way to one of the school brooms and took her place beside it. Heh. She couldn't help but STARE at Professor Vindictus a bit... He HAD looked pretty awesome in that pirate hat last term. Even if he HAD hit her with pudding or some other food like substance. Pah! The joys of having been possessed by pirate ghosts.

Giggling slightly to herself she went on... standing there as instructed.

Pam excitedly ran over to an empty broom, and awaited further instructions.

"Don't be shy - the brooms don't bite!" exclaimed Vindictus who noticed that a few attendees were hesitant. At least he had their undivided attention.

Excellent.

"Welcome to the first flying lesson. The basics of how to fly a broom will be covered and practiced . . . hopefully without loss of life or limb."

Smirk.

"Place your right hand over the broom - open palm - and in a firm voice say 'Up!' Make sure you let the broom know who's the boss. When you do this correctly, the broom will fly upwards and hit your open palm. Then you must grasp the broom in your hand."

He pulled out his silver whistle. "Show me how it's done." Vindictus barely finished the sentence when he placed the whistle up to his lips.

With a nod Lexi placed her right hand over the broom as she had so many times before and then TOLD IT, "Up!" Without hesitation the broom flew up into her hand and she gripped it loosely.

Smiling at the feeling of a broom in her hand she then awaited further instructions. She kind of hoped to see some brooms smack some first years in the face or something...but she wasn't holding her breath.

Nate outstretched his right hand over his broom, palm down, and yelled "UP!" perhaps a little too loudly. Nothing happened at first, but after about a second the broom vibrated, then shot up into his palm, and he grasped it. "Wow," he said under his breath, smiling and staring at the broom in his hand.

Pam placed her hand, palm down, over the broom. In all her excitement, her voice was more harsh than usual. "UP!" She yelled. The broom wabbled a bit before flying up into her hand. She looked up at the teacher in excitement.

William had never even so much as touched a broom, let alone flown one. But that was the reason why he was at this lesson, wasn't it? He tentatively stood beside a broom in the rows as the Professor told them what to do. He did as the professor said and raised his right hand parallel to the ground.
"Up!" he shouted, confidence in his voice; he had figured out the confidence thing in Charms class. The broom shot up towards William's hand. However, him being the tentative nerdy first-year that he was, he flinched and moved his hand out of the way. The broom smacked him in the face and he let out a yelp of pain.
"Agggh!" He said, clutching his face. For the first time ever, his face wasn't covered in blood from a nose incident. Rubbing his sore nose, William tried again, closing his eyes but keeping his arm rather still. The broom flew into his hands and he grasped it. He opened one eye, saw that the broom was safely in his hand, and he smiled. His face still stung with pain, though.
