Kurumi shrugged her shoulders. "Well, you know know better than me," she said, deciding to close the other book and focus on the one that Thereos had told them to refer to. "But...no one in my family is sick and, well, we both know that my family is always in a state of constant upset." Namely when it came to matters concerning her mother and magic, but there was no need to speak of that. Selina knew all those details.

Kurumi took her cup and sort of turned it in her hand to look. Well, the way that the wings were curved on it, it certainly looked like a bat and not a bird. "Hey...is that a wreath of flowers?" Kurumi asked, noticing a small detail next to the bat. Flowers were always a good thing, right?

"Nae...that is fine," Gideon said with an inclination of his head agreeing to the choice and the direction. So he would do his best to give a reading and provide an example for the younger boy as well as he could. Taking Jordan's saucer , the fourth year began to examine it for anything that looked like an image of sorts other then the actual tea leaves.

Wait...was that a leaf made of leaves?

It certainly looked that way so he looked up at his partner to face him as he spoke. "Well this one image could be a leaf," he started to say turning the saucer slowly around and looking down once more to try to get a better look at it searching for more clarification. Gideon then opened up his textbook for meanings.

After reading what it could possibly mean, he carefully tilted it in such a way so that Jordan could see for himself. "That could mean successful completion of a project or new friends," he explained looking through the text book.

Selina laughed, "You would think that, wouldn't you? But nothing is ever set in stone with Divination, unless of course... you know," she no doubt was referring to an actual vision. That was the only time anything was ever actually perfectly clear. Sure, she knew better than most about Divination, she had odd urges she could not explain. But she hoped that she was wrong about this whole death urge. It was a bit too much for her to even contemplate. So much bad had happened already and anything more... well, she would not know what to do. Especially if that bad happened to Kurumi.

When Kurumi showed her the next symbol Selina's throat tightened. A wreath of flowers, more specifically asters. That meant death. She was not wrong... this was not good. So Selina put on her happiest face and said, "Yeah, its totally a good thing. I means, good fortune in the family." She hated lying to Kurumi, but now was not the right time to tell the truth.

No. No, no, no, no, no!

Sierra promptly closed her eyes. Maybe if she pretended she didn't hear Bunny, the girl would go away. Why did she always have to ask Sierra to partner up?! Partnering with Bunny was like continuously listening to fingernails claw down a chalkboard for the rest of your life.

...but then there was a saucer and a teacup in her hands, and Sierra opened her eyes for fear of dropping everything. Fine. She'd partner with Bunny... With a sigh, she peered into the cup. "The Grim," she simply said. She wasn't serious, though, so she shoved her own saucer and teacup into Bunny's hands. "Alright, let's see..." She gave the inside of the cup a good look this time. "...looks like a balloon to me." She flipped through her textbook and read aloud: "BALLOON - busy social life; inability to settle down."

...well, that about summed it up.

Well it wasn't like Tori was DYING to partner up with Sierra either. In fact, the instant the girl opened her mouth, Tori could have sworn the smell of rotten eggs, stinky feet, and the scent of seven skunks came swarming out of the girl's mouth.

Peeeeeeeeyouuuuuuuu, Sierra. Tori made a face and took her teacup, leaning as far away from the other girl as possible. SOMEBODY needed to discover the magical power of Crest.

"I also see the Grim in yours," Tori informed her sternly. "And also a drum - a change; a call to action." DRUM DRUM DRUM DRUMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Sierra noticed the way Bunny sat as far away from her as possible. Well, GOOD. That suited Sierra just fine, because the further away she could be from Bunny---the BETTER. She rolled her eyes when Bunny announced she'd seen the Grim. Way to be a copycat. Bunny had no originality, it seemed. Of course. "Sure you do," Sierra said, giving her an unamused expression.

...but then--a change or a call to action? It seemed like a serious reading, so Sierra thought about what might need to be changed in her life. She was second place top points earner--that needed to change. "Hmmm," she said aloud. "I got an owl from my father this morning--said he had something new planned for this summer." She shrugged and gave Bunny's cup a second look.

"Looks like a candle," she pointed out. Again, she flipped through the textbook. She didn't have to go far, since she was already in the B section. "CANDLE -there will be light upon an uncertain path; help from friends." Hmm... "Looks like your friend's going to bail you out."

OOC: Sierra has good hygiene, thank you very much, BUNNY!

"Something new... there you go, that could be your call to action," Tori decided unnecessarily, looking into Sierra's cup again. Obviously her social life wasn't TOO too busy, since she was still a top points earner and all, but whatevs. She shrugged off the reading and instead gave the candle one more heed.

Hmm, a friend was going to bail her out? "I wonder if it will be Taryn...?" she mused out loud, then shrugged and went back to staring at Sierra's cup.

"Ooooooooooooooooooooooooh," Tori oohed, turning her head this way and then that. "Oooooooh. I spy.... a flag." Dun dun dun! "That means danger.... and I'm supposed to look at other symbols, so..........."

Hmm. Tori twisted the teacup some more to see what the flag and drum were telling Sierra.

"And even then you never really know," Kurumi said with a small shrug. It was sort of like dealing with a timeturner she supposed. In one sense, knowing what would happen could make that very thing come to pass. On the other hand, well, you could make something bad happen in trying to avoid the bad thing you had been trying to avoid in the first place. It was all so complicated.

"Selina..." Kurumi said, rolling her eyes slightly. She was going to add Potions to the end, but the red head was smart enough to figure out that Kurumi knew she was being lied to. Actually, Kurumi had something else to compare Selina's inability to lie to - the house elves. They were terrible liars as well. "It's all a bunch of guess work anyway. Next thing you know you are going to be seeing something in my cup that looks like a dog and then we are both going to assume it is the Grim and that the world is coming to an end," she sighed, throwing her arms up in the air as if creating a metaphorical explosion representing the world coming to an end. She took her cup from Selina and set it on the table.

"Enough about me, let's talk about you," Kurumi chirped. Grabbing Selina's cup, Kurumi peered into it and immediately started chocking back laughter. "Well...there is a Christmas tree, which is really ironic," she laughed, referring to her textbook. "Oh, but that means that... you may expect some special happiness at the Christmas season...so...you need to wait...several months...and...there is something that looks like a wasp. So...distress caused by the sharp tongues of those around you...." Kurumi set her book down and looked at Selina. "So...you are going to be really happy around the holiday season...but distressed about the waiting..."

That seemed rather obvious, didn't it? Who didn't seem distressed about waiting for something good to happen?

Ira was still searching for a partner to work with.. She looked around and saw that most of the others were already finishing their readings!

Then she saw Daichi look around for a partner too. We could pair up... thinking so, Ira waved her hand, "Hey Daichi, can we be partners? I too need one!" She smiled at him and bade him over.

As the other students were almost wrapping up the task , Daichi thought that no one wanted to pair up with him so he sat back down on his chair. Looking rather gloomy, the Slytherin pressed his chin on the desk next to the tea cup he had drank earlier.

Perhaps people didn't like him...

But than his saviour came~ in ....the form...of a little girl. He frowned slightly as she called his name. Had he met her before? But then again, he was bad with names so it wasn't a surprise he couldn't remember.

Smiling brightly now, Daichi nodded his head and made room for the girl to sit. "Yes! sit!". Not wasting any time because the others where almost done, Daichi grabbed his tea cup in his left hand and splashed around the tea leaves 3 times. Having grabbed an saucer earlier , Daichi placed the cup upside down and waited. "So...are we suppose to read this?" he asked the girl and pointed at his cup and saucer.

Louisa looked at Kennedy with anticipation as he stared down at her saucer. What would she get? Louisa expected something quite... smart, like a parchment or a quill. An eagle would be great too! Yep, if those tea leaves were right, she'd get something like that.

A hammer? O__o

"Triumph over adversity?" She repeated raising her eyebrows at him. What kind of adversity did that mean? Wait a second, she did have an adversity! She was going to be back home for holiday, wasn't she? Well, that was adversity-ish enough. "I think that happened already," smirking at Kennedy as she said so. She was to stay at Dallin's for a week, wasn't she? Heh. The other option, though, was so unwelcome and Louisa was glad to ignore it.

Good news from abroad? Frowning slightly at the saucer in the boy's hands, she spoke, "Well.. that.. is good." Not very much since she had no one abroad at the moment. What this 'good news' would be? Hmm? She didn't like surprises, no matter how 'good' tea leaves found them.

Looking back down at his saucer in her hands, the Ravenclaw felt rather guilty about seeing the kite and the skull. "Your tea leaves are kind of meaner than mine," she mused with a subtle chuckle. That should get the guilty feeling off her shoulders.

Selina tried her best to keep the mood light when Kurumi jested about the Grim. Although Selina was not thinking so clearly at the moment. Kurumi's reading worried her more than she could possibly verablize. It was no secret that Selina was an awful liar and no doubt Kurumi knew that Selina was not being truthful; however, Kurumi did not know to what grave extent Selina was lying. Something was coming. It was the specifics of that something that she did not know. She quickly made a mental note to look more into this reading later. Maybe, when she was alone, she would force herself into a vision and try to control what she was seeing. It was not a perfect process yet, but Selina was starting to control what she saw. It was just not a random string of events anymore, which was terrifying.

Her eyes focused on Kurumi's violet ones when the girl started to read Selina's cup. She found it wildly ironic that Kurumi saw a Christmas tree. Being that Selina was Jewish the whole Christmas tree anonomly was not something she really cared much about. Although she would be lying if she did not admit that she did feel left out of such a huge event. The only thing that was really special for Selina on the twenty-fifth of December was Gideon's birthday. The so called magic of Christmas was lost to her. How could you miss what you never had though?

"I'm going to be happy around the holiday season... but distressed about the waiting..." she parroted, "Why? It's not like I celebrate the holidays with all of you...? What do I have to stress about?" Odd reading.

Daichi seemed all bright and happy when Ira went up to him.. Well that was good, because Ira too went from being gloomy to cheerful.

He seemed in a bit of hurry to begin readings. That was alright really, considering many others had come to finish their readings! Okay! So lets start. Ira did as was instructed and splashed around tea leaves which were left in her cup three times. Then she placed it upside down on the saucer she had grabbed before.

"Umm, I think that we are supposed to exchange our cups with each other and take each other's readings." Ira said to Daichi, "So shall we exchange our cups? And do you mind if I asked you to go first? I mean this is my first time and I need to see someone do it!" Wait, was he good at this? Ira didn't know that. Well, he was an older student, though she wasn't sure how much older..

Alyssa studied the tea leaves in the cup for more shapes but didn't see anymore. "I guess I'm done. I don't see any more shapes, unless you can Minnie,"Alyssa handed over the cup to Minerva to make sure that she hadn't missed out any other possible shapes. She was still worried about the warning signs that she had seen earlier and wasn't sure whether she should tell Harvey. Maybe Minnie would later.

Minnie took Harvey's cup and looked at it. She had already given Alyssa's cup to Harvey, because she couldn't figure out the final shapes she had seen. She liked what Harvey found for Alyssa. She studied the cup for awhile. "Nope I don't see anymore. I think you did a great job with Harvs cup Alyssa." Minerva started thinking about what Alyssa saw in Harvey's tea leaves and tried to make out what it all could mean.

Completely unamused at the fact that she was getting called to some sort of action, Sierra just shrugged off Bunny's suggestion. The only way she'd care about the action she was supposedly getting called to is if it was beneficial to her. Otherwise, she was just 'too busy'. AKA, she wouldn't even bother.

...and then Bunny had seen some sign of danger, which caused a displeased eye roll to come from Sierra. "Whatever. It's probably trying to warn me to watch out for the Puffers in Saturday's match," she concluded. If Divination was actually real, that is. She still wasn't sold on it. "...but who cares about the Puffers." Then she paused. "Or, it could mean..." She shook her head. "Nahh..."

She peered down at her parchment to read up on what she'd discovered from Bunny so far.

BALLOON - busy social life; inability to settle down
CANDLE -there will be light upon an uncertain path; help from friends
BROOM - new home; new era in your life.

Her eyes flickered down into the cup again. "Alright, so there's also a broom," she said. She gazed up at Tori. "Are you moving?" One could only hope...

"Or it could mean........?" she echoed, nudging --- yes, actually TOUCHING --- Sierra with her elbow. "ORRRRRRRRR???????" Whatever OR was, it was probably a better, more accurate, and way more interesting interpretation than just blaming everything on the Puffers as usual. That was totally Tori's standby anyway. 'Eh it's the Puffers fault. Puffs did it. Wasn't me. Twas the Puffs.'

BOR-ING.

Anyway. What else did Sierra's cup o' danger reveal?

"A rose," Tori read, clapping her hands just a bit. "That symbolizes...." she flipped through her book, "a new romance; deepening of love. Hmm. Doesn't say it has to be romantic, but roses usually do symbolize THAT kind of love so..."

She rested her chin on her hand and GRINNED at her archenemy. "Maybe you'll have some summer love, Sierrrrrrrrahhhhhhh." HA.

As the student's got to work with their tea cups Thereos took on the role of going around amongst them. He commented where he needed and gave a suggestion here and there on what the student's saw in the leaves. The centaur was pretty proud he had to admit when he listened in on the converations the students had.

When more and more people got finished or didn't see much more symbols or shapes he clappered up front. "Excellent, I've heard some good things from many of you. Before we end class would anyone care to share their readings with the whole class? Just a symbol or two and what you think they might mean for the future."

Had anyone gotten the Grim?

Alyssa raised her hand to share with the class two of the symbols she saw in Harvey's cup. "Professor, I saw a formation of tea leaves shaped like an acorn. According to my textbook, an acorn represents happiness and contentment. The fact that it lies at the top part of the cup means that the person will soon enjoy financial success. I also saw another formation that looked like a kite. When I checked the symbol with my textbook I found that a kite represented a wish being granted. Was my interpretation correct, Professor?"

Minerva put up her hand. "Professor I saw two horseshoes which the books said was meaning a lucky journey and then I saw a tree which the book said happiness and fortune will be found on the journey."

Kennedy peered down at the cup. He wasn't sure if he was doing this right or if he was seeing the shapes correctly, but he was pretty sure he saw a hammer and a fish. Maybe, now instead of reading books on Herbology and Astronomy he'd concentrate in Divination. Meh.

He looked back at Louisa and shrugged. "Eh, tea leaves will be tea leaves," he grinned sheepishly. They had arranged themselves in those shapes apparently.

His attention was then drawn to Professor Theroes when he spoke. He wasn't sure if Louisa wanted to share what she saw or if she'd like him to do it instead. So, he gave her an it's-up-to-you stare.

Right, tea leaves remain tea leaves. Smart from a slythering. Bahaha. Having her teasing thoughts distracted by the Centaur, Louisa turned her head to look at the half-man as he spoke.

Sharing. Hmm. Not gonna happen.

Looking right into Kennedy's eyes, she shrugged one shoulder putting his saucer back on the table, "I don't really have anything to share." BUT considering that her interpretion for him was so... not happyish, she was willing to do that. Raising her hand, the girl straightened up, "My partner Kennedy," did that sound wrong? "Found a hammer for me and he told me that it means troublesome little tasks which I am reluctant to undertake.." Smiling subtly at him before turning her head back to the professor, "..and I think this task could be my OWLs next year." Anyone who knows Louisa would figure the pressure she was already going through for those.

There. She was done. Kennedy could go too if he needed to share his... kite and skull- She wouldn't but he was a Slythering, right? They did share bad stuff.

Keefer raised his hand. "Sir, I saw a poppy in Kourtney's cup. According to our textbook, this flower is significant of a pleasant occurrence in the early summer. So it sounds like Kourtney's in for a pleasant surprise during summer holidays."

Thereoes nodded to Alyssa "Yes your interpretation was correct. But remember that a symbol can mean more than just one thing. A kite for example can also mean a long voyage in the future which will lead to honor and dignity." These humans had good brains.

Averting his attention to the next badger he gave her a small smile "Yes that correct a horseshoe signifes a lucky journey and a tree with it can mean that fortune in the likes of say a proprty can be found along the journey as well as happiness." Professor Hadley should be proud of her little ones.


Troublesome tasks! Thereos nodded "Yes tests can be troublesome. There is also the possibility that the hammer can mean house chores you will need to preform during summer."

Thereos shook his head a bit then nodded "Yes kourtney can most definitley be in for a pleasant surprise this summer."

"Thank you all for coming to Divination this year It's been a pleasure to teach you all. This is all we've got time for today. Please clean your cups and saucer and put the tea leaves in the trash before you leave." Thereos said before he turned around to clean the blackboard by hand.

Alyssa went up and poured the tea leaves into the trash before taking out her wand and pointing it at her cup and saucer and using the Scourgify spell to clean them. She then placed the cup and saucer on the desk before packing up her things and walking over to the Professor. "Thank you for another interesting class, Professor Thereos. I hope to be able to attend more of your classes in the future." With a smile she left the classroom.
