Waiting right in outside of her hut door, Professor McClane glances up at the still rising morning sun casting a light glow on the area. Bean bag chairs of every color have been set up in a half circle facing the hut, with just enough room in between as not to crowd anyone (or their pets) in particular.
Noticeably, a couple of jars have been set out on the picnic table on the opposite side of where the lemonade and cookies usually are. Professor McClane thinks you all should be paying attention if you don't wish to put the food of a creature in your mouth.

So far, most of the classes Ashley had thought he wouldn't like, he'd turned out to be pretty okay with, and so he'd decided not to go to class with any expectations. Instead, he just had a hopeful optimism that he would do well and not mess up.
Making his way to the proper area, he arrived quickly, thankfully not getting lost on the way. He was really starting to figure out how to get around, which was good. People probably didn't like to be stalked, accidentally or otherwise, and so he was going to have to find a good way to get himself to classes sooner or later anyway.
As they were supposed to bring their pets, he brought the only one he had, his black owl, which sat on his head, probably solely because it knew he hated that. But he was used to it, so he and the headowl just went on to find a beanbag to sit on, giving the professor a smile as he passed by. "Hello, professor," he said politely before taking his seat.
Sarah was quite looking forward to this class. She loved animals, and animals tended to like her. She was indeed excited to meet new and magical animals. She supposed that they might like her as much as other animals. But, then again, they were magical animals and maybe they would hate her. What did she know?
She rifled through her bag randomly, wondering if she would need her gloves for this lesson.
Looking up from her bag, she decided she was bored with waiting. She glanced around. Might as well meet some new people... and that boy looked as good as any.
"Hey," she she said, walking up to him and giving her usual charasmatic grin, "Do you mind if I sit with you?"

Harlow's hair was in rare form today. It was as big as ever, but she was wearing a little tiara. It wasn't a real one, that was in her Gringotts vault. But her daddy told her every princess needed and crown and todays he just felt extra special so she had it on. It twinkled in her mass of hair. "Morning Professor." she waved at her and gave her a big smile and a little curtsy.
Harlow spotted Kennedy and she skipped over to him and sat down on the weird looking chair next to him. She sank into the chair and give a tiny squeak. "Well that was a weird feeling." she commented. "Hullo Kennedy." she smiled at him.
At the sound of a squeak Kennedy turned to the beanbag next to him. It was little Harlow...and she was wearing a tiara. "Hey there Princess Harlow," he said with a grin and then feeling stupid for saying that out loud. "How are yah today?" For some odd reason the boy wanted to touch her hair.

Smiling, Thea looked down as the boy spotted her cat. Wah. Putting her hand infront of Maleficent's eyes she shrugged in apology. Maybe she should keep away from people this lesson.. to avoid any injuries.
Picking the cat up, she plonked her back on her lap so she wasn't facing anyone else. Sigh..

Nate had sat down on a blue bean bag chair with his brown-feathered elf owl, Elijah. He smiled up at the happy looking creature that was perched on his shoulder, remembering that Pam had named him. Nate turned back to face the professor, squinting at the sun, and wondered when she was going to begin addressing the class.

"Oh my days, Alaska will you quit it?! This is not the time to turn... weird!"
Pets. As much as Kita loved Alaska, the owl always managed to find a way to annoy her ever so slightly. Today she was hooting at anyone and everyone. Normally, Kita wouldn't have minded this kind of weird behaviour from her bird but... today was different. Today was the one day her owl had to show some manners but was that going to happen? NNNNOOOOOOO!
Hmph!
Despite being slightly annoyed, the seventeen year old still had a smile plastered on her face. Why? 'Cause this was Care of Magical Creatures! A subject she liked! ... Despite the fact that they often dealt with creatures she deemed as 'dangerous'. Pfft! If they were likely to harm her, they were considered dangerous!
Kita started looking around the class, bouncing slightly on her beanbag. There were quite a few people here. Hm... Was this how popular-
Wait...
FOOOOOOOOD!
She blinked, trying to fight back a squeal. Was that for them?! Please, Merlin, say YES! What a way to start the lesson! First the beanbags and now the food. This could only get better right? Another hoot emitted from her owl made Kita turn her attention back to the front again. The food can wait. She gave a swift smile to the professor before settling back in her beanbag slightly.

Jayden saw that Nathan had come to class. He seemed to be avoiding her lately. "Hey!" She called out to him, waving him over towards her.

From her beanbag Phoenix had a pretty good view of everyone around her without drawing too much attention to herself and she had just spotted a girl desperately trying to get her owl to behave and stifled some laughter. She also noticed that Ebony, who had decided he wanted a good look around his surroundings, was making a beeline for aforementionned girl and her owl.
With a cry of 'Ebony no!' Phoenix leapt from her beanbag, depositing Kisa uncermoniously on the floor and rushed over, scooping her cat up just as he reached out a paw to bat playfully at the edge of the girls robe.
'I'm so sorry, he doesn't usually like strangers.' she apologised, afraid that she was about to get told off for not controlling her cat.
Orchid looked around the class wondering if Lauren was here yet or not, wanting to sit beside somebody she knew, but she couldn't see her due to the fact that she had forgotten wear contacts that day. Guess I should put my glasses on. She thought to herself as she reached into her backpack for them. She went to sit instead of stand like she had been for the whole day previous when her owl, Alfred , that sat perched on her shoulder began to protest as did her pigmy puff, Kaya, that sat in her hands. "Fine, you guys win." She muttered.
OOC: I just want to mention that Orchid didn't arrive late, she was just standing and was wanting to sit and look for her friend.
Violet skipped down to the grounds with a grin on her face enjoying the nice whether of late summer and early autumn. "Good Morning Professor." she said with a big toothy grin not feeling as nervous about her classes after her first few

Why was the cat running towards her?! Had she DONE something to the cat?!
Too stunned to say anything for once, Kita instead turned to the young girl who had leapt out of nowhere to scoop her cat away. She reached up a shaking hand and petted her hooting owl. No need to add to the drama right? Kita could do that on her own.
She turned to the girl and let a small smile take over her face. "It's fine," she said, "As long as he doesn't attack me, i'll be happy."
... Was that last bit even needed?
"Er... nice to meet you kitty cat," she whispered, smiling down at the cat. Maybe then it won't attack her...?

Harlow giggled at his greeting. "Its not real. I've got a real one but its locked up in my vault." she explained. She bounced on the chair and giggled again. At least it was fun. "I'm alright, my tummy settled down after that broom ride. So I'm right as rain today." she smiled brightly at him.

There were two reasons why Sammy was here. One: OWLs! She had to be prepared! And two: She had been allowed to bring her cat, who was seated on her lap but since arriving there had been another reason. THERE WAS FOOD. And since the house elves weren't letting them into the kitchens anymore she was practically dying from starvation between meals and had been eating extra to fill her up. But she was a little afraid to touch the food because some of it smelt like the stuff she fed her cat. As much as she liked food she wasn't about to eat cat food.
She had another pet as well, Hayden her purple pygmy puff, but she had decided against bringing him because he had been all cute and sleepy and adorableness. So had Moggy but Sammy had picked her cat up anyway. So there she sat. The blonde Whovian and her kitty cat, waiting for the class to start.

Lysandra continued to pet Stein when she heard footsteps of more students arriving for class. She looked up to see Sarah, who was digging through her bag and the girl she met on the train. Violet, if she remembered correctly and she had a big grin on her face. Hey Sarah! Violet! she said, waving her hands at the two first years. Today felt like a great day. It wasn't too hot. In fact, to Lysandra, it felt like the beginning of Fall.

Phoenix smiled in relief that the elder girl wasn't angry with her 'I'm really am so sorry, Ebony as soft as anything, wouldn't hurt a fly, he tends to keep away from people he doesn't know, you don't have any food or anything in your pockets do you, he's a bit of a greedy guts.' she gently moved Ebony so that he was draped across the back of her neck, his favourite postion and he immedietly started to purr, rubbing his face against hers.

Wouldn't hurt a fly? Now Kita liked the sound of that! Any animal that wouldn't hurt a fly was an animal she could get along with! She smiled in return at the younger girl. She was polite, yes. And-
Wait... Did she have food?
Kita tried her hardest not to giggle. She ALWAYS had food. More specifically, chocolate frogs. Teehee! Now wasn't this interesting? "Your cat has a good sense of smell," she said, before dropping her voice to that of a whisper, "I have chocolate frogs in my pocket." Unwrapped, of course.
Introductions no? "Er, i'm Kita, Kita Lewis. And this," she held up a hand to fluff her owl's feathers, "is Alaska, my owl."

Kennedy gave the girl an apologetic grin. He didn't mean to just stare at the cat, it was just that he wasn't used to being around animals. The closest he's been to one was a pigeon that was casually flying by in his home town.

A real one? "Like one made of real gold and diamonds?" he asked. And, she had a vault? Geez. Kennedy's possessions varied from his worn out messenger bag to his almost brand new shoes.
He smiled back at Harlow. She sure seemed ready for class. "You rode a broom?" Wasn't that dangerous for someone her size. Not even he would try to ride a broom...at least not yet.

'Yep, can smell food a mile away this one.' said Phoenix with a fond smile at the black cat who was now playing with her hair.
'I'm Phoenix Talisman, you've met Ebony and that indignant looking ball of tortoiseshell fluff on the blue beanbag over there is Kisa.' she said, pointing back in the direction she had come from, Kisa, upon hearing his name, looked up and fixed Phoenix with an annoyed look before letting out a loud indignant 'MEOW'
'Oh hush you, I said I was sorry.' Phoenix shook her head 'Pets, who have them?' she joked looking back at Kita 'Your owl really is beautiful.' she added as she studied the creature sitting on the older girls shoulder.

Nessie leaned into Sammy, smiling at the look on her face as she stared at the food. "I think it's supposed to be tuna. I'm not a fan of it myself." Nessie scrunched her face up just thinking about it. Shaking out of her trance she held out her hand. "I don't think we've met yet. I'm Nessie Masen. And you are?"

Maddy arrived to CoMC, lugging Jinx in her cage. She paused when she saw the array of bean bag chairs set up for everyone to sit in. She chose a bright blue one near the middle of the group. She set the cage down beside her, considering giving Jinx her own chair. Yes, she took her pet out of her cage and set her down on a compfy lime green bean bag. Sure beats some cramped up old cage. Maddy was not going to get lemonade and cookies this time, after what happened at the Slytherin house meeting, she learned her lesson on that one.
August had been sitting in his bean bag chair and had been looking around at the other children and their pets. He saw many owls and some cats here and there but Bruce his pet box turtle, who was pretty old, was definately his favorite.
The Gryffindor watched his turtle munch on a piece of grass as he waited for the Professor to begin the lesson.
Aurora was watching the other pets, knowing full well that Salvatore was likely to run after one of them. She held the red lizard in two hands, just to make sure he didn't run off. Sage, however, didn't like the fact he wasn't getting any attention and hopped onto her lap, startling her so that she loosened her grip on the salamander. Spotting his chance, Salvatore leapt off her lap and off to her left...
She eased Sage off her lap and gazed around to find Sal... honestly, having them both in the same place was dangerous. She looked to the Professor, hoping she wouldn't get in trouble for her lizard's behavior. "Um, excuse me, everyone... has anybody seen my salamander..? He's bright red..." she asked the class. Sage seemed to lose interest and flew off to sit on the roof of the hut. Such a show off. Probably for the best...

Nika moved around awkwardly in her pink bean bag. Everyone here had a pet, well everyone except Nika. Sort of. Her parents didn't let her get a pet. Not for this term, not last term, not even her first year. They think she's not responsible enough. Sure maybe she accidentally lost her friends pet frog that she was frog sitting for a week, but in her defense that was last year! Nika's thirteen now, and that means she's a responsible teenager. She deserves a pet. HMPH.
So instead of bringing a real pet she brought Bun-Bun who is very much real to her. Nika may not have a cat, frog, or a... salamander? Huh Aurora a salamander? But Nika has a Bun-Bun. HA. Nika let her thoughts wander as she looked around. Now to wait for class to finally begin because these beanbags are suddenly feeling real uncomfortable.

Stella had perched herself on one of the beanbags along with Lyra in her lap and her bag pulled up as close to her as possible. Her kitten was getting settled in, so was looking around like she was anticipating entertainment, and Stella simply wanted to be prepared. Especially if any real magical creatures were going to arrive, since so far it was just everyone's pets like requested. Plus, she hadn't forgotten the pixie incident in Herbology, and didn't want Professor McClane thinking she didn't have control.
It seemed others weren't quite as nervous about class, and she glanced over at the Slytherin girl in concern. "A bright red salamander?," she verified, shifting Lyra's position on her lap to look at the ground. "Kind of like your hair?" Hadn't the salamander been in the girl's hair earlier, after all? It didn't really matter, though, and after a moment she saw movement near the picnic table. "Is he over there?," she asked, pointing. She'd definitely seen red over there.
