Okay then, Jonathan took out the black puffed coat but the scarf on his neck still remained. The room wouldn't be as cold as the dungeons, right? It'll be over soon before the slytherins will notice. Thankfully, it's already Februrary because if winter goes on, the snakes will end up having colds. "We're both wearing different seasons." he smiled. Yeah, Kurumi looks more like spring and Jonathan's clothes looked confused with the new season. "Getting used to cold... what's your secret?" he asked. Well, people don't usually just get used to the cold weather, there must be a secret why they get used to it right, no?

"Did i interrupt your lunch break?" he asked. Jonathan should have just given her the note afterwards. Jonathan pouted his lips, well, it's not going to happen again. Looking at the cupcake he sighed "she usually gives me 5 or 6 of these, tells me to share it with my friends." which he doesn't really do because he usually ends up eating all of them before he even meets his friends. But this time it's only two and the note didn't say share it with a friend, it said 'share it with someone' with a silly heart beside it. Was his mother paying that much attention to him during the break? "Dunno why she only gave two this time." weird. He'll have to investigate on that.

"We can start after eating this" he smiled. Jonathan enjoyed chocolate so much. he could never go on a month without eating it at least twice.

"Maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part," she laughed. Kurumi never really enjoyed winter. "I like spring the best of all the seasons, so maybe I am trying to inspire the weather to change." Highly doubtful, but most of her insane theories about things were. Her imagination and over thinking often got in the way. "No secret. My hometown is just really cold in the winter. Lots of snow, especially since it is in the mountains."

She shook her head, waving her hand in front of her face. "It's no big deal, I was almost done anyway." Small white lie really. She didn't want Jonathan to feel bad about inviting her out on a...whatever this was. Homework assistance party for two. Yep. That sounded about right. "Maybe she just ran out of time? Mothers can be very busy...or...she is hinting at you to find a girlfriend." She giggled and blushed like a rose again. Her mother had been doing the same thing, hence the changes in her hair and most of Kurumi's tennis shoes being thrown out. No one will find you attractive if you dress and look like a potato sack had been what the woman had said while dragging Kurumi through the shopping center. It had been her worst nightmare...shopping...

Kurumi nodded as she took a small nibble out of the side of the cupcake. Wow...it was delicious and had a different texture and flavor from the usual chocolate brownie. She tried to put her finger on it, but she was a little too out of baking practice. Her skills were getting rusty. "It's delicious," she chirped, taking another bit.

"So...with this assignment...I was wondering if maybe...you...and I could um...make up a dance? Do the second part of the assignment I mean. We were both in class, so teaching one of the routines seems to be a bit redundant." If he said yes, then the next part would be even more awkward for her to spit out. She blamed Ryunosuke for sending her the music after she had written him about Jonathan. Thankfully, her father didn't know yet...and hopefully it would stay that way for a bit longer.

Spring is her favorite season. Jonathan usually gets sick during the spring but he's not going to tell her that. It's not right to just spoil someone's happiness just because he gets sick. Jonathan likes spring better than winter though and not to mention summer. Jonathan never liked summer at all. It was too bright and too sunny and too hot. He usually gets tired of picking his clotes since they're more of the fall and spring type. "Sounds fun from where you come from" Jonathan said. He only has been in the mountains because of his uncles. His father and mother prohibits a lot of fun things for Jonathan. They're TOO OVER protective. It can be sometimes annoying. "I've always wanted to visit the mountains." with fresh air and nothing to worry about, it's better than going to parties where he gets to meet snobbish people he hasn't met before.

"Really?" he cocked an eyebrow. Jonathan doesn't want her to skip meals just because he wants to go meet him. It's not fair. But she did say she was about to finish eating, so that should be a relief.

"Apparently my mother has ALL the time" he smiled. Surely, she's just too observant of her son that she manage to catch whatever he was thinking over the break. Jonathan barely gave attention to everything when he came back home. Not even during the Christmas party his father had held to his close friends. Yeah, close friends. There were like 20 families that came. Jonathan stared at Kurumi "Find a girlfriend..." he smiled as he leaned to give her a kiss on the cheek "...I don't know. I'm quite picky." he teased.

He started to eat the cupcake. As always, his mother never fails his taste buds. His mother loves to bake even with Nobi around. Nobi can sometimes feel ashamed that his mistress is the one doing the cooking sometimes. But Nobi is family. "you sure?" she is after all the cookie girl at Hogwarts.

HOMEWORK... ugh.

Making up a dance sounds really fun "Sure" he nodded. But Jonathan's not quite sure what this type of dance this will be "Do you already have something in mind, perhaps?" he asked her. She looked like she came prepared.

Fun? That wasn't really how Kurumi wanted to describe her hometown. Words like isolation were the first to pop into her mind to be entirely honest. Her home was nestled towards the back of the down near the base, so she didn't really have any neighbors, although her home did overlook the valley of rice fields. It was, alright, but not exactly fun. "It has its moments," she nodded slightly. Moments that mostly included her brothers and playing with the family dog. "You should...come visit some time then...if you like mountains." Yes, that was an awkward invitation for him to come visit should he desire. Her summer plans were pretty open this time around, unlike last summer where she had hardly been home at all.

"I ate, I promise," she giggled. "Beef stew, although it is still not up to par with Hogwarts usual standards." Something was wrong with the house elves...and Kurumi was starting to suspect a reason thanks to Arithmancy homework.

Kurumi blushed and ALMOST tried to hide her face with a combination of her hands and hair, but managed to keep herself calm enough to resist doing so after he kissed her cheek. Picky? Was he complimenting her or teasing her? She wasn't entirely sure. "Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"

She found herself nodding again. "I can't put my finger on what it is that tastes different...there is a unique flavor to them...and I really like it." Merlin did she need a kitchen to bake in.

Kurumi wiggled a bit in her seated position, she chewed on her bottom lip before speaking again. "Well...you know how the second part of the homework assignment is to make up a dance for our house?" She was tugging on her hair now, not something that she usually did these days, but old habits never fade. "I was thinking that...maybe...we could make up a Slytherdor dance..." Merlin, they had been official for over a month now and she was still nervous talking to him about this sort of thing. Then again, there was good in that nervousness too. Being too confident and comfortable too fast wasn't good either.

Come visit? Jonathan smiled even more "Okay. I'll definitely come visit you." not the mountains. For the first time someone actually invited him to come visit. Usually it's the other way around since his father usually doesn't want him out of the house for most of the time. So he usually let's his friends come visit him. "Although... i-it's... uhmmm... muggle... v-village..." he mumbled. Id Jonathan had a weakness other than he is an OCD, it's getting along with muggles. He's not too confident. His one experience was 2 years ago when he went to Paris because his mother wanted to shop. Honestly, he liked how the atmosphere was like. It was different and people seemed a little bit different or maybe, act different but other than that Jonathan liked it a lot. Although they had weird money. Paper money. Apparently they no longer use coins. Odd. And the fact that Kurumi told him once that her brother hated Slytherins. He should be really worried about that.

Jonathan nodded his head. "That's nice." knowing that she's full made Jonathan at ease. Lunch is as important as breakfast. They should be eaten at a regular. Jonathan just had soup for the past couple of days. This is why his mother brings him stuffs to eat sometimes. She gets frustrated that her only son doesn't even have the appetite to eat, even at Hogwarts. The Great Hall always have food.

Jonathan laughed as he kept eating the cupcake. He is almost done with his. "Of course it's a good thing" he looked at her. "You shouldn't doubt me that much" he smirked. "I always have great taste" he was very amused by that. Okay, that was just pushing it maybe. He can be too confident sometimes that he wouldn't even know he is.

"Mother bakes chocolate because she knows it my favorite" True. Jonathan does love chocolate and always have a stack of them in his trunk. He would probably go insane and mad if one day the supply would just completely last.

Jonathan nodded again. He did see the memo. They can do 2 things for the homework. Teach or create a fun dance. So she wanted to create a new dance "Slytherdor.... dance?" Jonathan asked. Merging the two house names. That's really interesting and this dance would be fun. How are they going to dance this Slytherdor dance? "Do you already have the stepping in mind?"

Kurumi's face brightened when Jonathan accepted her somewhat wonky proposal for him to visit. An entire summer of just her and her mother was not something she was looking forward to, so this was perfect. Hopefully her brothers would behave. Ryunosuke seemed to be somewhat okay with the situation, but Kurumi had left out the important detail about Jonathan being in Slytherin. "I'll write mother just to be sure, but I am sure she will say yes," she smiled - especially when Kurumi mentioned the whole boyfriend thing. Her smile faded slightly when she saw concern written all over his face. Did he...not like non-magical people? This was going to be a problem...especially with her house rules. "Um...yes...but people stay clear of my home..."

Her shoulders shook slightly as she giggled. "I wasn't doubting you..." More of her doubting herself, but she would leave that bit out. Jonathan always loves chocolate. That was something for her to remember for the future.

Wait..it was February ALREADY. Oh MERLIN! She knew what she was taking care of this weekend.

"I...don't really have a dance, but my bother charmed this box to play the song," she said as she pulled a small wooden box from her bag and opened it. Music filled the room instantly. She began to hum along with it. Truth was that she had been listening to the song over and over again in the dorms. The tune was very catchy.

Jonathan waved his arms "it's not that i... d-don't lik.." he stopped. It wasn't fair to Kurumi to say 'muggle'. She might get offended over the word. "I grew up in the wizarding world. So i haven't really experienced what it's like living in their world..." he looked down. As embarrassing as it sounds, he had to admit it. "i'm sorry..." he gave an apologetic bow. He did travel from place to place but still, they would end up apparating in a wizarding place. But going to the mountains and not experiencing magic would be really challenging for him. Although, he does find these stuffs fun. It's always fun to do activities you don't normally do. Guess he'll have to do his best to impress her mother or in this case, her brothers as well.

"Really?" he said as he swung his arm around her. Jonathan stared at her eyes. Purple. "Don't people back home ever question why you have violet eyes?" well, it's quite odd to have them even in the wizarding world. And his family knows she's a metamorphagus but did everyone else knew that too?

He took a brief look at the box that her brother made her. He even charmed music in it. Jonathan then listened as the song played. It felt nice. Quite addicting too but Jonathan can't help but laugh at the chorus part "That's really..." funny, hilarious, amusing, entertaining "...cute" he nodded his head as he kept listening. "It's addicting."

Kurumi frowned, but that quickly turned upside down when she heard his reasoning. "Nothing to be sorry about," she said shaking her head. "I...was afraid of the wizarding world when I first came, so it is only fair that it be the same for you with the one I grew up in." She gently set her hand on top of his and smiled up at him. "I've been told that I am a pretty decent tour guide when it comes to these sort of things."

She blushed. "I...um...at home I wear brown colored contacts...so one one knows that my eyes are violet..." Her mother's orders. Kurumi hoped that one day she would be able to control her abilities enough to be able to change their color on her own and she wouldn't have to wear those horrible things.

She blushed a bit and nudged him with her shoulder as she closed the box and popped the remain bit of cupcake into her mouth. "So...a line dance," she said with a bubbly smile. "What shall we start off with?"

Jonathan nodded in silence. At least he wouldn't look like a complete fool now that she had told Kurumi the truth. Hopefully, he gets comfortable about it. Then after awhile Jonathan smiled about her being a tour guide "Thank you... I'm really excited." looking forward too. He would love to see this side of Kurumi. It'll be different and incredible at the same time.

Now to get permission from his mother when he comes back. He will have to negotiate this.

Brown contacts? Now this should be something fun to see. "Awesome. We'll have the same eyes." he hasn't seen Kurumi in brown eye before. She did say that her mother had a difficulty with Kurumi and her eyes. Guess some people are really not a big fan of purple eyes.

Okay, to start with the dance, Jonathan stood up and stretched his arms. He looked at Kurumi "I don't know. how about we start with a simple one?" clearly he doesn't know how to do this. Simple steps? What kind of simple steps? He should be able to help out with this Slytherdor dance.

She smiled and made a mental note to head to the Owlery immediately after they had finished here. She would take him down to the river where here and her brothers often tried to catch small fish and frogs. Oh, in the summer there were always so many fireflies, they could catch them in jars like she used to do every summer.

She blinked with surprise when he mentioned that they would have the same eyes. The thought had never really crossed her mind before, and she found it both comforting and a little disturbing. She hated having to wear the contacts, but it helped her blend in. Helped her mask herself, so it was kind of worth it. "Yeah...I guess we will."

Kurumi furrowed her brow now and opened the box again and listened to the first few beats again. "Hmmm...well...most of these dances seem to start with some steps to the side...what if for the first few beats we step to the front with our right foot, clap, and sort of rock back and forth?" Kurumi took a quick step forward with her right, kicking her left foot up in the air slightly as she rocked forward, clapped, and then repeated it with her left foot stepping forward.

Steps to the sides. He nodded and took note. They do. The cha-cha and that cupid shuffle had steps to the side stepping. "Sure we could do that" as he tried giving steps to the side with 4 counts.

Left Left Left Left.
Right Right Right.

No? Jonathan looked down. "I'm sorry, I'm usually good with waltz and traditional dances." never contemporary or pop though. So maybe, Kurumi could teach him this time. Jonathan smiled as he gestured a hand "you should demonstrate first." he said. Jonathan is not that hard to teach when it comes to dances.

She'll do better than what he just did. That was just embarrassing, showing Kurumi that he could dance awkwardly.

Kurumi giggled as Jonathan seemed to get tangled up in his own feet. "It's not so much me teaching you anything since we are making this up together," she giggled. But, if he insisted on it, she would try. Standing next to him, Kurumi grabbed his right hand and held it about waist height. The Slytherdor dance should be done in pairs anyway. It was combining two houses together after all.

"Okay, so...maybe start off with something simpler," she suggested. "How about...we slide step forward?" That was pretty easy. She slowly slide her left foot forward till left instep was even with ball of right foot. She waited for him to do the same.

Jonathan laughed with her. So this dance is something to be shared amongst the snakes and the lions. "We're making a dance of the two rivals houses." he said with his thumb up. Now, that he thinks about it, if this dance were to have Slytherins and Gryffindors as partners then it would be hard do get them along, wouldn't it? The lions and the snakes barely get a long, so this dance would really be interesting and at the same time fun if it ever, becomes famous someday.

So the first step is always the simplest one. It should be, just to warm up the person dancing, right? Jonathan looked at Kurumi as he took his hand. "Got it." Jonathan nodded. Slide left foot forward. He did the same thing as Kurumi did.

She laughed along with him. The irony of it all. But, when you got down to it all, were Slytherin and Gryffindor really all that different? Sure there were a few historical figures that gave each house a specific reputation, but there were also those that embodied traits of all the houses. "Breaking down barriers I guess," she replied, sticking out her tongue playfully. "Maybe we can mix some of your waltz background into the dance."

Kurumi nodded as he followed suit. They now had maybe the first second of their line dance done! Yay! "And then again with the right foot leading," she said. Another secon and a half added to the dance. "And then...repeat those two slides..." So they had stepped four times. That sounded about right. They needed something to change the pace from sliding to something a bit more active. Maybe Jonathan would have some ideas.

"Breaking the barriers?" he repeated. Yeah, historically, both houses have grudges against each other. Then the grudges continued when Lord Voldemort took part into the first and the second wizarding war. It was like all the houses against Slytherins. That's not fair is it? But Slytherins did have their flaws that gave reasons for war. Such as their superiority complex, money, power, blood heritage. It would have been a peaceful community if they acted like equals. But you can't say Slytherin without cunning and ambitious. "They have the most relationships too" he mumbled. Enemies or not, Jonathan can still name a lot of students right now having one of those Slytherdor relationship. They're even one of them.

Jonathan followed as she lead the dance steps. Now, right foot again. And then repeating those two slides. Jonathan practiced it for awhile until he got it. "Why not add a clap?" there always seem to be a lot of clapping when it comes to line dances. In fact, not only line dances--- most dances usually have claps. "Uhhh... moving to the left in a clockwise motion and then clap. clap.clap.clap." he demonstrated first. "And then doing the same thing on the right?" It's not one of his best idea but dancing completely not his forte. So he just hopes this one would help.

"Funny how that works," she laughed as she pushed some of her long black hair over her shoulder. She probably should have brought a hairband with her, but she hadn't gone back up to the dorms after lunch. "Opposites attract, right?" She winked this time. It certainly seemed to be true about them.

"I...probably should be writing this down," she laughed once they had completed their first few steps. Then Jonathan offered up the idea of clapping and she nodded as she let go of his hand. Claps were always good. She played the melody in her head while copying what Jonathan did and her smiled widened. "It's perfect," she chirped. "I think...these first steps should be our base steps. We could use them a bit later and speed them up or something." Okay, so they had...how many steps done now? Did it really matter? Kurumi had almost forgotten the details of the assignment, she was just having fun making up a dance with Jonathan. Dance, wait, she was actually dancing with someone. Perhaps the mask of it being an assignment is what made it easier. "Okay, so we slide for times, clap and partially twirl twice...maybe we should go back to some foot work next." She paused and thought for a moment. "How about...three toe points with the right foot, then with the left..." she performed those two steps in rhythm. "And then...something a little more complicated like stepping right foot over left, step left, step right, step left," she said as she performed the moves slowly. She always liked this sort of stepping that made it look like you were running in place.

Jonathan smiled. Yeah, opposites do attract. It worked perfectly for his mother and father. And it's working perfectly to some Gryffindors dating other Slytherins out there. Probably such opposites meet in the middle and then finally finds a similarity. "I think if Godric was a girl..." he brushed her hair with his fingers, "...Salazar would have definitely marry him." he laughed. Now he's just having one of those mental images about Godric and Salazar getting married. Ewww... He shrugged for a bit but still had the smile on his face. BROMANCE!

He looked at Kurumi as she began writing down the steps. He's taking notes too but it was more of memorization rather than putting it on a piece of paper. He read what she had wrote and began memorizing the complete steps again. "P-perfect?" he thought it that idea was crappy. So first was sliding to the left and then to the right. And then a little bit of twirling and then a whole lot of clapping? But the clapping part was their base steps right, like she said right? Jonathan nodded trying to get that all in his head.

Next steps:
three toe points in the left
three toe points in the right
right foot over left
step left, step right, step left?

Did he do that one correctly? He just followed her demonstration so he thinks he got it... kinda.

Kurumi stopped her dancing and burst into a small fit of laughter. Wait, really? Had Jonathan just suggested that? "So...Godrica and Salazar?" Because, you know, Godric didn't really sound like a girl's name. "You know, I think I read somewhere that Godric was really shaken by Salazar's sudden departure from Hogwarts. I often wonder if they really were the best of friends who had a terrible fall out." Which would have been really sad. It would have meant that the last time they ever saw one another would have been when they were arguing and angry at one another. How...tragic.

"Hey, are you doubting our dance?" she asked with a fake pout on her lips. Kurumi rolled her shoulders a bit. Really, they had the basic frame work and could just call the dance here. They had enough steps...maybe. Kurumi pulled the parchment out of her pocket and scanned the back side where the homework was written. Six moves...did they have six moves? If you counted moving in the opposite direction they did, but there was always room for more. "What do you think should come next?"

"What?" he said smiling. "I think they would make a great couple if Gryffindor really was a girl." he also started laughing. This topic just felt really amusing but then again the two were friends back in their days when they built this school. Who would have thought, they would really turn against each other and left things differently. Thinking about that made him pause for awhile. Isn't that what happened to him and Jeanne? Best friends that never spoke again. Jonathan doesn't even know how's she doing now.

Then he shook his head and smiled at Kurumi. "Maybe it was for the best that the two didn't meet up again." Probably Godric didn't want to talk about it and Salazar had nothing to explain. Stupid.

Sigh.

No doubting here but certainly Jonathan thought it wasn't much of a good idea. Still, it's nice that Kurumi thinks it's...................... perfect?! They have enough dance steps probably. A couple more and then it could be done, right? So what would be a nice next step? "how about we face the partner" he faced Kurumi "And then take the partners left hand with my right" and so he did. "Then let the partner twirl two times?" should it only be two times? It should be enough since more than two would just make the partner go dizzy.

"No argument there," she giggled as she tried to get the image out of her head of Godric Gryffindor in a mini skirt. Not that there would have been mini skirts during that time, but it was the first thing that popped into his head. Although, Slytherin could have been the girl in their theoretical situation. Wait, maybe not. From the pictures she had seen of him he probably would have made a really unattractive woman.

"Okay, face your partner," she nodded as she mirrored his movements. "And...oh..." she blushed when he took her hand and spun her around twice. Hehe. That was kind of fun. "Good, but only if the partner gets to return the favor." She stood on her tip toes and attempted to spin him twice.

Jonathan snorted. "i'm tall." he said as he saw her standing on her toes trying to reach his head. Jonathan still tried it though. He bend down a little bit and tried to go under Kurumi's arm. "See?! It'll be hard for you" he smiled. Not too mention it'll definitely be hard on the guys to twirl around the girls. Unless if their partners are taller than them or of the same height. Surely they can make another stepping out of this.

"If you want you could make another stepping." that would be a nicer idea if she did.

Jonathan was tall. She wasn't sure how tall he was exactly, but she was only somewhere around five feet right now...coming close to five foot one actually. She giggled a bit when he bent down a bit to make it easier on her. "Yeah, but still kind of fun," she smiled. Why did only the girls twirl in these sorts of dances? Seemed unfair. But, Jonathan did have a point that it was harder for a tall person to twirl under the arm of someone smaller than them. "Okay, okay, no twirl...how about after the partner twirls then...we do small kicks with the same legs while facing each other? I've seen this sort of move in some dances, it looks kind of neat. So...first kick right, pivot a little, and then kick left."

She slowly kicked with her right foot before bring both feet together and pivoting slightly before kicking with her left.

No twirl. He noted that. Yes, only girls should twirl around, it would be weird if guys did the same. Wouldn't it? It would look more comedic as well. But he does agree with the small kicks steps. "Yeah." he nodded and tried it as well.

Jonathan tried those stepping out. "How many more stepping? I think I've lost count of them." how many did they already do? And how many left? Jonathan forgot the rhythm of the song already. This is really great exercise though. He usually doesn't do any.

Kurumi tossed her head back and laughed. "I have too," she admitted, blushing slightly. So much for her being on top of the task at hand. Truth was that whenever she was with Jonathan she seemed to lose track of the time. Another prime example of this being at the lake where they had probably sat in the snow for more than was really healthy. Slowly, she let go of his hand and reached for the parchment in her pocket. "At least six moves is what we need for the assignment," she read. Hehe. They had more than six, didn't they? "I think we have a lot more than that." Although, that really depended on what one called a move or a count - which Kurumi knew nothing about. So, maybe they were done?

Kurumi tucked the parchment back in her pocket. "Where did you learn how to waltz?" Yes, she was still intrigued by Jonathan knowing how to do it.

6 moves already? WOW. They were actually doing progress than he actually though. He just thought they were around 3 steps only. He clapped his hands lightly "That's really nice to hear." he said. He took his scarf and put it in his bag, yeah, he can already feel the heat with all this dancing and practicing. Also, he put his father's pocket watch inside his bag as well. He doesn't want that get broke or something like that. His father would be disappointed and mad. As he turned to Kurumi, she suddenly asked a question.

Where did he learn how to waltz? No one had ever asked him that before. People just assumed that he knew. "When I was younger, my parents used to bring me to a lot of parties" champagne, wine, cocktail, desserts, small food that didn't make sense at all. "I usually don't enjoy it, so my mother decided to give me waltz lessons instead." he said. His mother did suggest that so that whenever he gets bored, he could just dance it. "but I still don't enjoy it" he laughed softly. "I'd rather play and do something else" he added.
